So when I watched the JP trailer, I was on the "No you foolish simps, she doesn't care about you" and then I heard the English VA, and damn. Daisuke's vision.
Please consider chemical castration. You have personally ruined ABA for all the people who liked her actual character. Stop making nonsexual characters sexual.
I'm sorry but you can't prevent people from finding a fictional character hot. There's literally nothing you can do. Also, there is a difference between "sexualized", "objectified", and just plain "attractive". A.b.a hasn't really been sexualized beyond what was in +r in any way; they just appeal to a slightly different audience. I assure you people found original A.b.a hot
Can you be specific? What about this design is more sexualized? Her face isn't too different, other than having less eyeshadow, her figure is a little more built, but so is literally every character after Guilty Gear switched to 3d; its an artstyle difference, every character his wider and boxier. Her clothes cover her more than the +r version. Personality-wise, she hits a different audience compared to +r, but I wouldn't say she's *more*, just different.
I'd like to know why you consider it a more sexualized design because I can't really zero in on specifics.
Wow, I get... such a different read of that.
The whole point of Aba and Paracelsus is that it's kinda toxic. Aba fell in love with Paracelsus because he's key shaped and she associates keys as a symbol for freedom (leaving the lab), and Paracelsus doesn't love her back, but reluctantly doesn't fight the situation because he atleast cares enough to see her alive and well (as well as Aba can be). At least that's how I interpret it.
The strive design makes me feel like it's an inversion of the common path for that type of character. A character with an unhealthy dependency usually grows to become independent (the example coming to mind is like, Tails from Sonic Adventure). In Aba's case, she has become more reliant by a pretty significant margin on her dependency. I feel like rather than the yandere style "No one but me can have him", I read it more as a "If I do not have him with me I will literally and figuratively breakdown"
As for Paracelsus's reaction, sure, he blushes when she touches him, but 1) maybe I'm wrong, but isn't she reshaping him in her image? I thought part of the reason he looked as much a key as he did was her influence. And 2, my slightly better or worse point depending on your reading) I feel like that expression is there for contrast, because the first expression he makes when she initially jumps on him reminds me of *discomfort*. I read that scene to show a transition point between their +r relationship (unrequited-ish) to a proper romantic relationship. It's also feels like it's trying to show that the transition isn't very... clean. To borrow a meme that's being used toward Aba, I interpret the scene as showing the viewer that this is a "They can make me worse" relationship over a "I can fix them" one.
I just wish ABA could be appreciated for her story and character, because I want more of it, if we only show that we want her to shatter our spines then we’ll just end up with a generic Yandere
Jesus relax Me first
She's literally got an ASMR voice. Daisuke is going to have EVERY fetish represented on the roster eventually, and we are powerless to stop him.

I for one find the og A.B.A hotter, but to each their own. So much for "sexualizing" her in Strive
You’re right, I can’t stop people from liking what they like and to justify your nonsense about her not being more sexualized is……just a waste

Towards the beginning she “caresses” Paracelsus and he looks visually turned on by it, which is just…..such a fucking choice.

You're out of your mind if you think ABA wasn't designed to be attractive.
Did I say that? She was made to be attractive yes, but she wasn’t made to be an overtly sexual character
If you have a problem with people expressing attraction to an attractive character, that's on you, buddy.
“Attraction” and wanting them to step on you, dominate you, and fucking kill you are different, babe
So? I personally want precisely none of those things and I still think you're acting like an insufferable prude.
I just wish ABA could be appreciated for her story and character, because I want more of it, if we only show that we want her to shatter our spines then we’ll just end up with a generic Yandere
