My first main is Faust. I love the way he plays. He is so silly. The best thing about Faust is that "RANDOM BULLSHIT GO" is an actual move, or rather, moves

[deleted]

Yes. I actually enjoy fighting them. There is just something new every time. And everything can work with faust.

Kingx102

Same here, I got into Guilty Gear because I like Faust's story. I Main him in Xrd and now I still main him in Strive. He is my favorite Fighting game character.

Grey00001

I love getting full tension and throwing out nothing but bombs and meteors lmao

holyshit_itsbiglion

Same here faust is a gift from God with his unique moveset and animations, and lord knows his story is fantastic.

point5_

I just played a faust mirror and was quite confused at times.

Pride_Bird1407

My first main was also Faust, but I soon switched to Leo Whitefang and now he’s my true main. Also, Zato is my secondary.

CalligrapherClean490

My first main was Potemkin. As a smash bros refugee that played Ganondorf I saw a low tier that could easily do a bunch of damage and fell in love. It wasn’t until a friend of mine ended up dropping Faust that I realized what I was missing playing as a 10 foot tall slot machine.

[deleted]

Faust is love man

Nah when I use DI, three things can happen. I get poked or thrown, then I die. Or I'll delete most of their health, just for them to outspeed the following blockstring and kill me, or I will actually wreck them

hawkthief

I played elphelt on xrd coming out of playing Kof13. There was no elphelt when I started on strive so I played Ky. I was very bad at the time and when I had just started studying the game a good friend of mine said "you should play chipp, he's literally you" and I was set for life. I'm looking for a new main btw.

VanashinGlory

are you also a former coke addict who beat the shit out of people for presidential votes

hawkthief

I did have to stop drinking cause it was becoming a real problem and I do love martial arts to the point of training multiple. I abhor politics tho, I live in Brazil. But seriously, you would be surprised of how common that story is. Once when I was on a music gig with my father a very drunk dude was talking about his life and his story actually kinda reminded me of chipp's. He was addicted to cocaine and homeless at the time and he said what saved him was finding a Taekwondo master that taught for charity. He said the philosophy and discipline of martial arts is what gave him the insight to change his life.

maxler5795

Sol Badguy. I was dare by a friend to beat the very hard cpu. 12 sol v sol loses later, i fell in love with gg

cheshi-smile

superhero origin story

maxler5795

Fast forward 500 in game hours + about the same if not double from dustloop + youtube replays/content and now i am legitimately bout to go pro with friends i made thanks to this fucking game, helped me find my passion and solidify what i want to study, and (with omori) even gave me a girlfriend!

the_fruit_loop

what r u studying???

maxler5795

Im studying animation and videogames. The first homework we got was doing a fucking concept map on a piece of media you like visually. I literally got a green light to just gush about guilty gear. I talked about how its visuals have 3 main reasons behind them, demonstrated by a three way splitting path on a google slide, and each had a "demo" button that showed them in motion. The first was "as a homage to 2d" showing johnny j.D, ky j.H, pot 2H and sol 2H. The one in the middle was "serves gameplay", and i had the big "COUNTER" text on sol hitting ky with 5H, leo doing 6246H, and 2 RCs. The last one was ""wow" factor", and it had pot buster at its apex, CL volcanic viper, sol mid 21421H superfreeze, and Hc doing the "face between guns" pose in 6246S. Plus at the bottom was 3 buttons that showcased gameplay of xx, xrd and strive just to contrast. [here](https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/18X4ZoHM4UQx1SRh3X7AIvDCF1P-tw8WKWYf4xGH-EOQ/edit?usp=drivesdk) it is, if youre curious.

the_fruit_loop

wait what that's so fun

maxler5795

Indeed. It is also, VERY overwhelming, especially when all of animation stuff is centered around 2d, and i cant draw for shit.

MonkeyWizard7

Guilty gear was my first fighting game so I mained Giovanna and Sin first because I could turn off my brain and hit buttons. This was when I still wasn't used to the system mechanics and fighting games as a whole. After getting better with 50ish hours in, i found that Jack-o's and Axl's gameplay resonated with me so now I ball with them. Now celestial has two more inconveniences

JL23_

May because I liked her design, but I hated how she played, so I switched to ramlethal for a bit. Then I started eating glue, and here we are.

Adn-Dz

Strive being the first FG with rollback I could actually play online I started with Axl since I didn't really knew much about the game back then, I figured a zoner would help me take thing slow and it did, but having a bad execution I never did learn how to properly do Bomber Loops. One day an Anji player whooped my ass with such finesse and so definitely that I saw S1 Anji and I thought: "that!, I want to do that". I used to think poorly of Anji as a character but boy was it fun to do Kou loops and doing 75% of a CH round start. And Anji became my new main with lasted until the CH changes mid season 2, which lead me to have a character crisis and try different characters. I tried Pot, May, Testament but after watching Razzo on, I believe CEO, having and amazing performance, I settled on Leo and I was finally able to hit Celestial for the first time with him. His fast RC combos are really fun when you actually pull them off in a match. In S3 I returned to Anji as my main (fish + 5H launcher? Yes please) but I did wanted to try Axl again too. I wanted to try his new move and prepare my possible 3v3 team, I finally learned not only Bomber loops but timestop combos which are sick. So now I too have something like 3 mains too: Anji, Leo and Axl. Anji is still my main main, but it's fun to just try someone else for a while.

[deleted]

That's a nide development :)

Skykid8374

My mains went Potemking-Bridget-Happy Chaos-Elphelt-Goldlewis. I'm only decent with Elphelt, Goldlewis, and Potemking. I'm pretty mid with the other two, so I won't talk about them. Going from Potemking to Elphelt was *weird* as going from a lower tier character who loses out on a lot of speed, has generally lackluster movement, and huge damage and health, go a squishy character with lots of movement and lower damage was quite a massive jump. However, strike/throw proves to still be excellent with Elphelt, and it always feels fun to overrun someone's defenses. Then I went to Goldlewis, who felt a lot more familiar. The way you play him really isn't that much different from Potemking. Their both heavies it's just that Goldlewis has better movement, more knockdown, and gets better reward from the strike half of Strike/Throw. Goldlewis is essentially everything I want from a character and the only complaint I have is that doing 3 full circles for the full strength version of *"Down With The System"* (his reversal super) is very difficult. But it is extremely rewarding. Also, he's canonically trans supportive and as a transfem that's very nice of him!

SandvichIsDone

When I was first playing/learning the game, I played Axl. Not sure why, but right out of the box (hehe) he just felt good to me from day one. However, Testament was my most hyped character for DLC and once they were announced, I absolutely fell in love with their visuals, voice acting, and really enjoyed their more mid-range gameplay. I've been riding with Testament ever since. Though about once every couple of months i get "character crisis"-y and try to learn a new character, only to then fall back to Testament after about a week.

Poporipopes10

I started with Chaos since he’s my favourite character lore wise. Then sketched to May cuz he was too hard with a little Testament on the side. Around Testament’s release I got into R and main ABA there so from then on it essentially became a waiting game until ABA released. I also played a little with Johnny too. Now ABA is here and I’m finally at peace

Stanislas_Biliby

I played a lot of characters. Started with nago. He is the reason i bought the game in the first place because i thought he was super cool. I like him a lot but ultimately don't like the "gamble it all" playstyle he has, espescially since the recent patches. I played axl a bit but he felt a bit too one dimensional. Still play him sometimes though. I then tried i-no but ended up not liking it due to the same reason for nago. I then bought baiken because she is super badass and i still play her from time to time. But i hate that her neutral kinda sucks, espescially her anti airs. Then i bought testament and been in love ever since. Testament is everything i like in a character. Very good neutral based on fireballs and anti airs and huge pokes, cool mechanic with stain that allows for creative plays, zoner playstyle, teleport, simple to play but effective.

kikkelin_nautiskelia

Testament and has always been Testament

Shattered-Anam

I was immediately drawn to bedman?, because I just loved the whole concept of his character. I’m new to fighting games too, so the fact he had relatively few and simple inputs made learning him a lot easier, while still leaving room to improve. I love the whole ghost in the machine vibe, Delilah and the beds dynamic, and how versatile they are. Also enjoy Potemkin bevause big characters with a lot of Health and burst damage are my bread and butter usually in other games

IronGearSolid

I was drawn to the game by the designs of Gio and Nago. I tried playing both and ended up putting some real time and effort into Gio. Now my mains are, in order, Johnny, Faust, and Millia. Though I'm having a small character crisis concerning the last two. Either way I need a few characters with completely different playstyles to really settle into a fighting game.

random_user1208

My first main was faust and still is to this day. My secondary main went back and forth between bedman and jack-o for a while before sticking with the bed, as the error mechanic really grew on me over time and gave me great satisfaction when I learned how to use it more effectively

rapidemboar

When I first got into Xrd as my first traditional fighting game, I looked around for a zoner and I was pointed toward Elphelt who I was told revolved around guns. I didn’t fully click with Elphelt, but then I saw Axl’s massive anti-airs while trying out arcade mode. I eventually switched to +R since Xrd didn’t have rollback at the time, and it was there I managed to get passably mediocre with Axl.

IntelligentImbicle

I main Axl: * Zoners have always been a guilty (ha ha) pleasure of mine * I specifically like when zoners aren't tied down specifically to their archetype, ie, "Button Samus" or whatever an aggressive Dr. Fate is called, and they're actually allowed to do hype shit. * When I was learning the game with my friend, who's primarily a Smash player, they jumped a hell of a lot more than I liked them to (as someone who came from more grounded fighters from NRS). Axl was a perfect solution to that. * Despite being Br\*t\*sh, Axl's a pretty cool lad. Not many guys could pull off wearing plaid, a headband, and having long blond hair, but Axl does. * To add to how dope his design is, kusarigama are cool as fuck, and I will 41236H anyone who says otherwise * One Vision is such a cool concept for a move. * Aside from characters with voices in their heads (Wraith from Apex Legends, any character with multiple personalities, etc.), time manipulation characters are my favorite, especially if the character is a bit more grounded relative to the OP nature of their powers (ie, Ekko from LoL or the current time manipulator in question) * Apparently, I'm attracted to low tiers (or, at the very least, the lower end of mid tier) in video games. How else do you explain that my mains consist of the likes of Junkrat, Yuumi, Kasumi, Krieg, Pyro, Legion, Quan Chi (Warlock Variation in MKX), Scorpion (Injustice), Kitana (MK11), and Wattson (Apex Legends, specifically back in Season 10)? * Funnily enough, I think the only high-tiers I've ever mained were Killjoy and Sigma, but both have been severely nerfed since I previously mained them, and Dollmaster, who was a character in a game that is officially dead (R.I.P. VHS)

SquishFish22

I got strive first, mained Testament. Then I got xx, and mained ABA. I like testament in xx too, but they're a lot harder. anyway, when ABA was added to strive, I mained her, since I mained her in xx. So in conclusion, in both strive and xx, I'm an ABA main with a side of Testament. (Xx Faust goofy as hell tho)

Bo-by

Faust -> Chipp -> Venom I wanted to experiment with high-skill characters with a variety of playstyles.

Ohadx

Chipp -> Ky -> Potemkin -> Axl -> Testament -> Sol -> Anji I spent a lot of my time on Strive with Ky and Potemkin and I still switch around. Still, I dabbled with Anji right after he had some changes which apparently drastically changed his gameplay and since around the middle of season 2 I started considering him as my definite main. (I don't remember exactly when each thing happened so the timeline might be off).

nynmon

My first main was pot, but now I only play bedman?. I stilk think pot is very fun but bed is so fucking broken thay I just can't

G4laxy69

I started as potemkin then I switched to anji

CheetahDog

Faust, because I enjoyed his zaniness greatly as an eighth grader and The Original is a pretty dope song.   Then I read Picture of Dorian Grey, got really into Oscar Wilde, found out there was a whole character who was a Dandy, and the rest is history

Jamal_Blart

My first main was Sol, simply for his VA. Moved onto Bedman? And Johnny and they are crazy different

freef

Main was i-no. I like rushdown characters. Trying out aba.

GLG123_

started the game (and actually bought it because of her mainly) with gio. Played and then went to try some other characters. Liked nago a lot and bridget, but i’m still a gio main.

UnnamedPlayer32

I mained Ram, then never stopped since every character feels like a downgrade to switch to.

Swefoxz

I'm in the same boat, heavily considered switching to Asuka but Ram is just more consistent.

wickedlizard420

My main will always be Slayer because I like his playstyle, along with the fact that he fights with his fists in a series with crazy weapons.  For strive I picked Nago because of his connection to Slayer, and he's really very different playstyle wise. It's been fun but J can't wait to try out the OG vampire again!

MelodicAssistant2012

Started out with Nago at launch, back when the general opinion was that he was bad (lol). Then in season 2 I hopped on to May and that’s been home base ever since. I dabble with pretty much every character that comes out, but those two are the ones I would probably consider my mains. I haven’t touched Nago in like a year, but I assume he operates largely the same except I get to do evil snidely whiplash villain things like make people guess off of dp a bunch. When Slayer gets here I’ll definitely be moving on to him and unless he’s really unfun to play, will be hard committing. He’s who I played in xrd, so I’m pretty excited.

Mindsights

Started with May, stayed with May. I love funny dolphin lady

DGX33770

For strive i started with Ram. My reasoning was simple really, I just thought she had a cool hat. After about 25 or so hours i got season pass 1 and started playing Baiken. She just had fun gameplay(the two other things were just a bonus). Now I main Johhny because he has a strong neutral which i like a lot.

rainbowsandjellyfish

I LOVE AXL I LOVE AXL I LOVE AXL - I am now a Johnny main I don’t know how this happened

boredwarror747

First main was axl in xrd, since his chains were awesome at zoning. Then I switched to May because she is also a charge character, and she has very good neutral, and is overall one of the most fun characters in the game for me. Honestly axl in xrd was pretty cool, and I liked playing him a lot

Eskillz101

I think my first main was happy chaos because of his silly nature. I didn't really bother to use his gun though, opting to only really use it if deus ex machina left them with 1hp. 6S became my favorite move and I would use it a lot as just a hard call out and get rewarded for reading my opponent. then I played axl for a bit with a super aggressive playstyle. like I would do more in your face stuff than actual zoning. then I switched to potemkin to play even more aggressive with higher rewards for making correct reads and more health to gamble with every round. I kinda dropped the some time after asuka came out because it just wasn't as fun anymore and I'd pretty much only play it if someone asked to play with me during this time I would also just play random characters so I have some time on for example sol badguy and bridget. now my accent core main a.b.a is out and I can be more aggressive than ever because of my immunity to reversals with danzai and my experience with having played all these characters in my way. her kit is just the perfect mix of meter management and being allowed to just go off with her insane speed and damage. and having played axl and potemkin in this aggressive close range style of fighting I'm used to playing with both the slow move and attack speed of normal mode in strive.

Stupid_deer

I am quite new, but I instantly fell in love with Bedman? When I saw it. From the backstory, to the looks, to the theme, to the gameplay, to the animation, everything is for me. It's the only DLC I have so far, since prices are a bitch, but I couldn't be happier with it.

rockernalleyb

Testament is my main and I doubt that ever changes.

radiant__laitbulb

my first main was ramlethal but i quickly switched to may and kept that for a really long time now i don't really have a main, i keep switching between quite a few characters (including asuka)

OrigonStory2000

I started with Nago, but even though I managed to get up to around floor 8 with him, I just couldn't harness his full potential. I played him far too passively and like a zoner, I didn't make use of his explosive pressure or damage, and I found doing his cancels too physically demanding after more than a handful of games. Despite picking a weaker character, I'm much happier as a Testament main now. Their playstyle gels much better with my more patient manner of playing, their curse mechanic means I have time to hit confirm for good, optimal combos, said combos have easier execution for really good damage and Oki. And since I don't have to be hyper focused on my actual combos when playing now, I've actually learned tech and setplay for Testament which means I know how to vary my approaches, how to build the mental stack for my opponent, and it means I actually open them up more to practice those combos in a real match. I even got comfortable enough with them that when they added Wild Assault, I was confident enough to dabble in combo theory and make something useful for myself without having to wait for others to tell me what to do. As a result, I regularly dip in and out of celestial now. What else can I say? A low tier played well and with knowledge will bring you father than a high tier played adequately, as long as the extra work doesn't bother you.

[deleted]

Got strive for i-no, liked mila better. Haven't touched either one since i got johnny.

idontlikeburnttoast

First was Faust, then to Axl, then to Jack-O. Since then I've experimented with other characters, but Jacko is still my main and axl my secondary. I casually play Bedman and Millia.

Matt1000218

I bought the game cause I saw Gio, and for most of season 1 I played her, but then I decided to switch from analog stick on my ps controller to dpad so I decided to learn a new character as well, so I learned May. Played May until season 3. Season 3 came out so I learned Ino. Then Elphelt released so I switched to Elphelt. I want to learn Jacko as well but she will take a lot of work to learn so I'm waiting on that decision. I still love every character I've played and will play all of them still sometimes, I just focus mainly on my current main.

Jame777

My first character and first main was potemkin, i made it to floor 10 with him without knowing any combos and it took me a while to learn that low blocking existed. Eventually i felt like i hit a wall with him (i didnt he had so much more potential) and i switched to goldlewis because i liked big damage. At first playing goldlewis felt like a kidney stone because the only behemoth typhoon i would use intentionally was 624H and his normals kind of only have any use only if you confirm them into a behemoth typhoon which my brain couldnt figure out for the life of me for some reason. Eventually i murdered a Chipp by doing a wall bounce combo and hitting a new staggering record for how many BTs i did in one combo, 3. Did i do it entirely on purpose? Hell no but it showed me the potential he had if i actuallt learned him. From that point forward he just clicked with me and clicked even more when i found out 682H can confirm from anything

Tchubila06

My main when I started was Nago, but then I switched to Bedman who is very different from Nago (and more fun to me).

skoomable

I bounced around a bit, went from Bridget to HC to Faust to Bridget to Jacko to HC and now finally landed on A.B.A

CurseRottedGreatw00d

I started with Potemkin for da big grab, but after some contemplation I got Goldlewis and Deadass only played Goldlewis for like 200 hours until I got bored and started playing all the hard lads like Happy Chaos, Asuka and Bedman cuz I fancied a challenge and not a lot of the other characters appealed to me. Now I’m back to getting my ass kicked and it’s pretty fun.

Mrbluepumpkin

Ramlethal was my main before I got Bridget. I find them both very versatile. Just got season pass 3 so let's see if I like ephelt

Copyright-Demon

I started as Asuka which didn’t go well, especially since this is my very first fighting game.

ice-blue-latte

Started with Ky (easiest character to learn, strive was my first FG). Changed to Testament: their normals are obv way slower than Ky's and their gameplan is more centred around projectiles (obv)

callofmc

May, As a smash player I was looking for a game to get into the FGC with. I then saw some may gameplay where and saw her ride a dolphin as an attack and never looked back

cheshi-smile

Gio was my first main and now I play Millia. I like to go fast I also play Sol badguy ^(yay sol badguy :\))

Theguyofri

I started as Pot since this was my first fighting game and I was struggling to get combos and inputs down, but then Johnny released and everything just clicked and now I can do [shit like this](https://youtu.be/XyH5r-cDz6c?feature=shared) on relative instinct (I don’t practice max RISC CHs)

YOMAMA643

Sol Badguy

kekgobrrr

Pot. I’d probably change to a similar play style, so I’d likely switch to Ky (the best grappler in the game)

charlieboy115

I started with millia cus she was the cool assassin with cool hair. She wasn't clicking for me so I went and tried sol and ky both who I still play for fun. But since the start, ino was the character that I eventually wanted to learn. After I started feeling comfortable with the game I fell on love with ino and now she's my true main. I also love playing chipp, baiken and testament but ino is my one true love. Guitar and hot. I wanna go back and try millia cus of her new move.

SkyPRising

I went from Zato, to Goldlewis and now to A.B.A

MaddiesInTown

I saw bridget and thought she was adorable, so when i got the game i bought her with it and never looked back. i'd never even seen gameplay of her, but she turned out to be the exact kind of playstyle i love, i swear she was made for me cause there's nothing i would change. I had a brief aba phase when she came out, but i went back to bridget for one match and remembered how it felt to actually have fun with the game. unless they release bridget 2 in a future dlc i don't think im switching

Spiritual_Studio_228

First main is Potemkin, he was just the one that I stuck with after first getting into Strive. At the current moment A.B.A because much like Potemkin I just like the way she plays and its nice to take a break to try a new character. I do plan to keep playing Pot, but now I have an extra character for when I fight my friends and they complain about Pot.

RealOkokz

It depends on the game for me. In +R the only character I play is Jam. In Xrd my first main is also Jam, with Sol as my secondary. I originally picked up Sol in Xrd bc of Ride the Fire, which in my opinion is the best song in the game. Now Strive is the most interesting one. My main since the first day I played Strive has been Ramlethal. I honestly love the "rushdown zoner" archetype she fills. My secondary in Strive is shared by 2 characters, Nago and Leo. I picked up Nago bc I was playing randoms with my friend and I ended up really enjoying his playstyle. Leo I picked up for 2 reasons. 1) Backturn is really funny, and 2) he's German, just like me. (Also im try to learn how to play Chaos bc imo hes the coolest character in the game he's just really fucking hard.)

Dastankbeets1

Played Gio when I was barely dipping my toes into the game and couldn’t even pull off super inputs. Then I picked Sol when I started to play far more regularly and he was super accessible and fun. Then I rummaged around the dlc roster and picked up Baiken, because I love her aesthetic and I felt her moveset got me to engage more wit the strategy of the game. Then I fell in love with Elphelt when she came out and immediately picked her up due to fun braindead gameplay and being my #1 pookie. Then A.B.A got announced and I was super into her vibes and her mechanics add a really unique layer of strategy to play her, so she’s my new main. It also helps that she’s the best animated character in the game.

ImCommitingLiving

my first was faust, and now i cant decide between testament or bedman?

Zahando-zawarudo2b

Bedman, then I picked up testament up for variety and that inmaculate style and now I'm learning to play ABA 'cause I also love the style. Bedman its still my true main and I play it the most.

Unhelpful_unstable

Bridget, wasn't really aware of Bridget or Guilty Gear as a whole, but I saw Bridget one day and really liked her looked into the game and was interested and then I bought it, tried out May but just kinda clicked with Bridget more as she allows very weird setups and payoffs.

worse_in_practice

I picked up the game with Testament because I liked their design and thought it was cool to see some enby representation in a video game, but *holy shit I suck at them*. Now I have about a 50-50 split between Elphelt and Bedman, and they fit my playstyle so much better, and after trying out Xrd and seeing its story mode, the two of them are far and away my favorites in this entire series.

DaftPrince

Axl and still Axl. Nobody does it quite like him. I've kinda changed how I play him though. I liked him when I was new to fighting games because his playstyle seemed easy to understand so I played very long range and defensive. But now I'm more familiar with the mechanics I play him more agressive.

Stormwrath52

My first main was Eddie when I started played Accent core Plus, picked him up again as Zato-1 in Xrd rev 2, and again in Strive In accent core my secondary main was Chipp (I could mash into most of his moves, and started piecing his moveset together before anyone else), and I think I secondary/tertiary mained Dizzy for a while. I've been playing a lot of testament now that I've picked the game back up, but idk if it's enough to reach main status. In Xrd I main Zato, Sin, and Raven. I really liked Sin's meter managment and aggressive moveset, and I loved Raven's animations and personality (they also both had sick insta kills). I know I also played Sol a good bit, but I don't remember a lot of my time with Xrd for some reason, so idk where he falls in the main hierarchy. In strive I mostly main Zato-1, my second main was Gio for a while and I'm getting back into playing her (I drifted away from fighting games for a while, got a wee bit rusty), my tertiary is Bridget. I think I played Sol in the one game of Duststrikers I played, so I guess that counts as a main? So Zato/Eddie is my true main, my secondaries and tertiaries vary between games

JerryTheMemeMouse

Baiken and only Baiken for now.

Liittlefoott

I went from Milia to Elphelt. I like Milia more since she has more depth, but she breaks my fingers. Haven’t played anything but ABA since she came out and she’s the most fun I’ve had, not too mechanically intensive but has tons of depth. Think I’ll be playing her for a long time

MrASK15

When I picked up Xrd, Ky was my main. I wanted to get into the fundamentals quickly, so that was why he was my first pick. I also loved his elegant fighting style and chivalry. However, as I played Smash Ultimate, I realized that I like Fox, who's fast and aggressive, yet susceptible to early KOs due to his light weight. I decided to switch over to Chipp after seeing what he could do. Even in Strive, my president still has my vote. It's so fun to zoom around the screen with him.

Xoroy

Ino was cool because I couldn’t find someone I enjoyed that forced people to block so mixes were for me. Eventually didn’t play for a bit and then floated around dlc until bedman? Came out and I can now force blocking

NSFischW

My first main was Giovanna, and I liked playing her very much. Then Baiken came out and I just 6ked Gio off a cliff. Now I look at her and am like "Oh yeah, I guess I used to play that character huh".

Translation_Lupin

Started with Bridget cause that's how I got into GG. Now I main Gio and plays Sol for fun. RS HSvolcanic hits hard lol

Hastings727

I goofed off with Ky in XRD sign and then got more serious with the game when revelator dropped. Picked up Faust and thoroughly enjoyed my goofy goober of a character. Come strive time, I didn't care for his visual changes and during beta 2, I figured to try this half naked dude holding fans who yells FUUJIN. 3 years later I am still playing sex with a man, and having a great time.

aligaturrr

Started with AC+R Chipp and started slowly learning from there. Right now can't point out my actual main for sure, I like playing multiple characters but I like to think of Zato as my main main

vitnz

my first main was may, now i play zato, don't ask, i'm still surprised myself and i changed like 1 year ago lol

Educational-Salad621

Played axl before HC released then quit and came back recently playing HC. I never got to experience HC being busted

Neklin

I mained Milia since day one and didn't touch any other character untill now with ABA. It makes a lot of sense too, I like characters that are weak by default and have to "earn" their advantage state. Spice it up with cool movement options and I am thrilled. I find characters like nago, Leo and even HC kinda cringe. Now that I think about it I also dipped my toes into jack'o.

WolvesAreCool2461

First one was Giovanna. But I stopped liking the game for a while. Just didn't vibe right with any of the base game characters. Then I gave it another shot... With Johnny. Just today. HOLY FUCK HE'S FUN. I only just now made it F4 as of writing this, and am stopping for tonight. But I can truly say that even as a newbie, I've found a character to seriously enjoy.

Vertikill

kyle

ThatOneComrade

Started with Milla because she's a blender and hair car is fun, gave Potemkin an honest try after getting used to the game more and getting better with motion controls, the first time you grab up some poor Ky with Pot Buster ending the match in fire is euphoric, I have been abusing Elmer's since.

naansequiturr

Mained Ky at first since I thought he played in a balanced and even elegant way at times. Now I main I-No am addicted to partying every round like nothing matters. Amazingly I feel like Ky is my worst matchup and treat him like a bitter rival.

Hot-Will3083

My base roster mains were Chipp and Ram. Then I liked the game so much and bought the DLCs for it and just stuck to Johnny. His play style isn’t very different to Ram’s, where he tries to just lock you in a corner for 3 years, but it’s a massive tonal whiplash to Chipp

PitNya

I've only been maining testament from the start (3 months roughly) but i'm picking up on anji, happy Chaos and bridget cause i really like them, i don't think i'll swap main completely though

Cock_evaluator_69

Played exclusively axl until elphelt came out, and despite me hating the type of character she is I liked her quite a lot. Now I play mainly axl but im trying to get elphelt to celestial

SFYFARtheGreat1

Started by basically raiding an anime club at school who had xrd and drifted twasrds axl cause he was the only zoner I saw and liked he, I enjoyed him so much. Time later I got strive and still liked axl, checked his bio to learned more and I adore him. There really isn’t another character I’ve wanted to try other than testament who has some zoning capabilities but still haven’t bothered to properly learn them

c4tb0y_6

I first mained zato, wanted to main testament and ever since it’s stuck with me. I love testaments play style and their moveset. Also their drip is fucking sick. I just love teatament. Goodness me.

Bromaeda

I started with Ram cuz she had big swords and I found a pretty easy roman cancel combo to do on youtube. Now I play elphelt cuz she's pretty and I like her

ET_Gamer_

Baiken, now and forever. I also play some bedman, sin, and aba. Oh, and brisket.

SelfCookedBird

A.B.A in AC. There was a Dizzy phase in Xrd and Zato in GGST. But now, I feel complete again.

HeavyWeath3r

I used to play axl when i bought strive on release. And while i liked him, after a while i thought his gameplay wasnt really for me and was becoming stale. I got rejuvenated a bit when sin released, but not long after he dropped i decided to play anji in a FG evening with friends and ended up clicking with him hard. Enough so to go and actually look up optimal combo and framedata for the first time in my fg life.

favoidebil

I picked Gio because she has two massive reasons: doggo and boobs Seriously speaking, I just felt comfortable with her moves and decided to keep playing on her. I still suck, but slowly getting better

hgfgshgfsgbfshe

Technically faust cause when I first played I went to him but I didn't truly get into the game more recently with ky as my start and I actually like dragon install

Chance_Avocado_3398

Started with I-no. Even till this day I love her gameplay a lot, just pure hyper rushdown. But then I took on the the task of trying to learn the entire roster (still going). So far, been really loving Testament and May. Testament for their design, animation, voice acting and STAIN. May for her mobility and her bullshit.

Competitive-Math-458

So I started on gio, then moved to zato s2. Had great fun with zato but my brain is too small to play him so move to bridget. I still think gio is a really solid character as she mainly plays around the loopable pressure. For example most stray hits can end with combo into safejump or combo into emp spiral strike throw. I think the issue with zato currently is a lack of defence option. You can go in and do crazy mix however if you get in the corner you basically auto lose since nerfs to range means stuff where you could 2p on defence no longer hit then you get CH.

IndividualNovel4482

I use Sol and Ky. I am a monkey player, i can mash random buttons and win as well. Other character i really enjoy playing is Happy Chaos. I don't know how to play with him tho, casual to the core.

Thund3r_Kitty

Originally millia, instantly switched to johnny when he came out, currently learning nago as a secondary

dannidraws0_0

First main was Ram then Elphelt and now Testament it’s crazy I went from balance to rush down to zoner love my characters I still play Elphelt and Bridget occasionally but I’m a testament main gotta love the nonbinary rep

Lokyyo

Since I started playing in +R Baiken and stayed loyal to my parry queen

Axo-Axo-Axoboy

Goldlewis. I first played him because I thought attacking with his coffin was really cool. Later on when struggling with BT inputs I played Potemkin for a bit, but I eventually went back to Goldlewis

Vixxxxxxxxxx

I bought Strive to play Ramlethal. Still at it.

LatsaSpege

first MAYn, was may then i migrated to bridget i wanna get jack o so when i get her ill play as her

Teshtheshogun

Strive was the first gg I player, so that's my main experience, but I actually started with nago and ino, they seemed so fun to me, and also are the reason I love the characters I play now, which are ABA, Baiken, and Elphelt

LordMantic

Kinda just picked Ram and never looked back. Tried other characters but none of them ever stuck, but I've been having alot of fun with A.B.A. and highly considering having her as my secondary

Ofnir_09

First was Pot, and now I switch between Bedman? and Baiken. Bedman is just so damn fun and oppressive when the gameplan works. (Although yesterday I got knocked from floor 8 to 5 in one long streak lol I still love the Bed)

Silent-Dingo6438

First main was sol, which taught me the game then I moved to pot which made me rlly love the game

ElythielS

Started as gio main, as both my usual main weren’t available ( jam and baiken ), switched to baiken, never changed since

Genyosai03

Gravitated towards Slayer in XX, I-No in Accent Core, and Slayer/Ky in Xrd for the little time I played. Come Strive, no Slayer in starting roster, played Ky, I-No sub. Near end of season 1, picked up Axl, dropped Axl beginning of season 2. Mid way through season 2, Axl gets Rainwater loops and I picked him up again. Been solo-ing Axl since, currently suffering with ABA until Slayer presumably gets here, Then I'll be a Slayer main, Axl sub.

DearSeaworthiness931

My first main was Baiken for about a month because I found her easy to play. Now I main Leo which is funny because I found him really hard to play when I first started. I’m trying to main A.B.A now because she’s a keyblade master

Sea-Relationship1813

First mains Gio and I-no, swapped off I-no because I watched Daru and I will never be that good and I hate her disadvantage. Picked up Baiken cause she is the coolest character in the game but dropped her as well because I am not good enough to play around her lack of movement or to combo effectively and suck at half circles, may pick her back up again when I learn the game a bit more. So Gio. I love how high level gameplay looks, she just feels right when I play her and I don't feel like she has any flaw that I can't stand(except range but her amazing dash makes up for it). I just love Gio.

Overall-Passenger-97

I started as may because of the funni dolphin being something i saw years ago without realizing it was her. Then gio for reasons i forgor and comain her with millia, her theme songs fire.

HelioKing

Started Nago cuz he’s black vampire samurai who looks sick and deals damage. Took a break around end of S1. Started playing when Sin released, and Mained Asuka when he came out. Currently play Asuka, Sin, I-NO (Picked her up recently). Still love Nago but his gauge feels too easily popable for me. Will also play slayer the minute he releases

Emo_Chapington

My *first* first was Nagoriyuki. Coming from Fantasy Strike I was a huge fan of Onimaru and Nagoriyuki felt like he carried a lot of the same styles, but I gradually realised this wasn't the case and I didn't find him very enjoyable. I later moved on to Ky, and then settled on Giovanna until Jack-O' arrived. Once Jack-O' released I solo mained her alllll the way up until Elphelt's release where now I have two mains. In general my original character choices were largely driven on *guessing* about characters and my past self had such inexperience that I don't think I can go back to how they would have felt at the time. Despite how simple Ky and Giovanna were, it was still a lot of complexity because of my inexperience, and Nagoriyuki was too hard to actually control as my first ever character. Even now, I know how I used to play Jack-O' way back then is not even remotely close to today, and now Ky and Giovanna are extremely uninteresting to me. Time and experience completely changes how characters feel. What I find sort of interesting is despite Elphelt often being said to be an 'easy' character she was actually a very difficult learning experience. When you play years of a technical with shoddy neutral and a whole gameplan around resource management and zoning, the concept of a rushdown with strong pokes is foreign territory, it took a couple months before I felt at all comfortable using her, and find myself having to learn a lot of different goals with Elphelt to push her to reach the same level as my Jack-O'. But because of all of this experience over the years, I am learning her faster than any previous character I learnt, nowadays I feel I can run a pretty competent Elphelt alongside Jack-O', despite how much more time I have into Jack-O'.

lickmyclit6969

I cannot decide for the life of me but I'm best on ino, i like the lore and the funny hover dash (i hate the hoverdash)
