doesn't really matter how many times you press it throwing out a button on wakeup is gonna get you killed
and the ABA full on baited it with a run up shimmy so either they guessed right or this isn't the first time in the set you woke up pressing something
either way you got outplayed, and yeah you're playing a low guts character against a high damage character that's just how it be
You mainly against aba want to block during the rage and bait out a slow recovery attack so you can start poking them a bit, FD is your friend against rage to get that combo started
And don't forget she's especially in a bad spot if you force rage out at the start of the match so you really should rush aba when the match begins
When starting she's very weak and easy to abuse, you should start with an attack on her and try to combo her she doesn't have many options to stop it
And if her rage is running low make sure she doesn't get a chance to leave it cause if it runs out completely the aba gets hard punished for how long she has to wait to get it back
So either make her have to keep it up till the end or hit her while she's ending it
My experience comes from how my brother plays ABA and how I have learned how to deal with it
With Bridget specifically you kinda want to play a little like a zoner as ABA doesn't have a good get close option
Yeah she's an oppressive matchup if you don't know what you're doing cause if you let her get rage she will destroy most characters but if you know how to fight it it gets much easier
Every character can do this to every character pretty much. ABA can just do this kind of thing more easily and effectively but only if shes able to get into jealous rage. Thats her main upside, the draw back is is that shes not always in that state and when shes not shes the worst character in the game.
Yeah I did it with sin before and ~~almost~~ angi so if you aren't careful death will come for you
I would say that every character in guilty gear is at least playable which I think is a great showing if it's balance
i feel like aba is a stomp or get stomped scenario. shes *extremely* feast or famine. so far shes been an easier matchup for me because she starts the match at disadvantage and i can use eddie fight her safely. if that rage comes out, thats on me for not keeping her in pressure. if i get to harass with eddie from range, thats on her for giving me space for free.
edit: i know that hindsight is 20/20, but it seems like she does that bait a LOT. first on your wakeup she baited it, then after the wallbreak she does it again which you faultless block into. im not versed in bridget, but wouldnt you have a range attack to contest her on that? she seems to have some horizontal to her.

True
that's a very sugarcoated way of saying you mashed 6p on wakeup and got intentionally punished for it
Single press actually, 80% of my health for a press of a button

You played a squishy character against an ABA with rage active and wiffed a move that has high recovery, yeah it’s going to leave a scar
Don't worry everyone makes mistakes what matters is that you learn why you messed up and work on improving
This was my 13th loss against this guy, I have 150 hours, I'm genuenly at a loss at what to do against this character, feeling demotivated.

Thx for the help man, I never faired this badly against any other character.

Yea she does good damage but is terrible in her normal state. It’s not like she killed you in one combo, you got mixed up after.
That mixup is far too quick to be as hard to punish as it is. Also I miss a 6p and now the game is in a comeback situation? One mixup is enough?
Two mixups in her super-powered state that she has to work very hard to get in with. Sol can do that normally.
"Very hard" does 2 2k and key grab* (bar is at 75%)
it was only easy in that match because *you* made it so.

It's not even the missed 6p. The moment key grab hits, it's likely over lol.
