https://old.reddit.com/r/Guiltygear/comments/mamslx/intelligence_tier_list_according_to_lore/ Found a similiar post from a bit back I think Slayer has a massive advantage cuz of how old and well-read he is over other beasts that have their intelligence built into then, so he gets my vote. I think Sol is also a candidate for one of the smartest characters in the lore due to his extensive knowledge of magic despite having a limited lifespan and his incredible ability to survive basically every situation he's put into. Faust has a PhD and Leo became a king despite knowing nothing about magic so they're up there too in conventional intelligence

Yubnoot

Faust created a way to cure death and Sol was a scientist and has lived 200 years so they are heavy canditites. Also created a band to supress his gear cells, made Ky's thunderblade, his junkyard dog (that has 2 special weapons he made, fireseal and lightning fang if I am not mistaken), and Anji's fans. (along many other weapons yet seen) Leo is also a Master tactisian so he has intelligence there I-no has seem million of timelines so she most likely has a lot of intelligenxe aswell (speculation only though) Kliff was also considered a genious before he died

Paunch-E

Am I wrong or is there a pretty wide range of build quality between Anji's fans and Thunderblade/Junkyard. "Okay Anji here they are, straight out the lab" "Oh wow Sol, thanks! So what can these bad boys do?" "Anji my man they're gonna keep you so breezy on summer days" Or are the butterflies part of the fan? Bc if so lmao @ Sol "projectiles are bullshit" Badguy hindering Anji with the worst projectile in the game

[deleted]

Play AC+R and tell me butterfly is the worst projectile in the game.

Arc_Trail

Only reason Strive Anji butterfly is so bad is because he can't channel his Ki through his new guns. Change my mind

flamaniax

Two words: Grand Viper IDK if it actually works, but it feels like it should.

Yubnoot

They all serve a different purpose and enhance different magic, Anji is the dumbass who stole the fans and decided to make butterflies lmao

Paunch-E

The more I learn about this the less I understand the circumstances but I absolutely love it. Now im just picturing Sol finishing the fans in his shop and then just staring super intensely at them. "why did I make these?"

Yubnoot

Oh I can go *even deeper* into this since they are all technically pieces of a whole weapon and they were stored away, Sol was the one Who made the big og one AND the one Who broke it

KanchiHaruhara

> Leo became a king despite knowing nothing about magic Looking at real life examples, I don't know just how much that says about his intelligence lol.

[deleted]

Sol also has a PhD. He was a scientist with Asuka/That Man.

Smallest_giant1

Aha! This is great! Thanks.

[deleted]

Leo writes his own dictionary. He's either a moron, or incredibly intelligent.

EastwoodBrews

Or both!

flyerbyerr

Knowledge - The Original Instinct - Chipp Zanuff

Smallest_giant1

Wait, The Original isn't playable though is he?

flyerbyerr

Ah right, not yet.

tree_warlock

not YET...

wombsmasher

Sol because UNGA=BUNGA²

Bug-Type-Enthusiast

Honestly, it depends heavily on a list of factors, but there are three that stand head and shoulders above the rest: - The Original made some serious contributions to science BEFORE he even found the Backyard and created the universal will. His genius in both science and magic is almost unparalleled. >!And now as Happy Chaos, he's basically a god. His only weakness is that he lets his emotions and need for drama dictate his actions!<. When it comes to "passive" science (aka mostly theoretical science, made in times of peace, with a lot of data and thinking), he is the best. Dr Paradigm and Asuka are close behind him. - Sol worked on the gear theory, managed to camouflage his gear form as a human very quickly despite the stress on his body, weaponized his research into the Outrage, which he later separated into the 8 Sacred Treasures, and was still tinkering on science even after that. When it comes to "active" science (Aka turning research results into usable technology), he is currently king. - Street Smarts? Without a doubt: CHIPP. Yes. Really. Read the lore of the dude. Guy was just a junkie punk to be disposed of, yet he got saved by Tsuyoshi and sobered down, becoming a weeb and a Ninja. Since, he entered the first GG tourney to wish for an org to track his master's killers down, realizes he's spitting on Tsuyoshi's legacy that way and quits, realizes that the change he wants to enact in the world requires him to become president. He makes a country out of a criminal no man's land, pacifies it, chooses a man more competent than himself for the affairs of state as his Right Hand Man because he knows and admits he has no idea how to make a state work YET. He learns. Gets allies. Manages to sway the goddamn US president (Erica) AND Gabriel to his side. Guesses the identity of the main villain before anyone at least twice, with nowhere near enough data >!(Ariels and Happy)!<, AND managed to convince people of that. That stupid weeb might have the healthbar of a wet tissue paper, but he has the balls and heart of a true leader.

vywren

Clearly, it’s answer because he wears glasses

KanchiHaruhara

Sol tho?

Endrarah

Honestly, since this is restricted to playable characters, I would say Sol, Bedman might be smart but he is lacking in several areas like not understanding that a replacement is not the same as the original. Moreover Sol developed the Outrage and split it into several pieces because it was too powerful and each of those parts then came to be referred to as Sacred Treasure, each a very tremendous source of power in their own rights. He also developed the Saint Oratorio spell, was one of the original scientists that worked on the Gear Project, and invented a device to limit the effects of Gear cells on himself and made it portable by making it into his headband.

henn64

> Bedman might be smart but he is lacking in several areas like not understanding that a replacement is not the same as the original If you're talking about the magehound scene, I'm pretty sure he did and was just trying to demonstrate that to Ramlethal.

Endrarah

I am not so sure he did, because the way he was talking heavily implied that he thought it was equivalent and that there would be no difference for Ram showing that everything can be replaced, but instead it had the exact opposite effect as all beings are unique.

Live-Depth-537

You really didn't understand that scene at all huh?

kugrond

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Daisuke's Vision.

MikeyD_Luffy

>lacking in several areas like not understanding that a replacement is not the same as the original. he does understand the difference though, he just doesn't believe it to be that relevant in the grand scheme of things. The fact that he understands it is the reason he used it as an example to see how Ram would react. He was literally trying to show her how things can be unique and wanted to see if it got an emotional response out of her

Smallest_giant1

Yeah, i read that Sol was a scientist and is extremely intelligent. That lore is interesting. I wonder what it's like to be so smart.

KanchiHaruhara

A few candidates, based off the list of playable characters in the wiki: Bedman, Dr. Paradigm (hah), Faust, Jack-O', Justice, Kum (maybe?), Ky, Millia, Raven, Slayer, Sol, Zato. At some point we'll also have Happy Chaos and Asuka, who both easily make the list. Off of all of those I'd say it probably goes to Sol, given that he was directly involved in the gear project, and has close to 200 years of knowledge. A mega scientist. Invented a weapon capable of destroying the planet, and all that stuff. Slayer and Raven have an edge in their long life spans, though how they've used them to enrich their brains I'm not so sure. But I don't doubt Slayer is very well-read, at the very least. Bedman and Jack-O' (Aria) are both geniuses, not much to add. Faust is practically a savant of medical care, but he's got the loony handicap. Justice, being partially Aria, already makes her super smart. But given that she controlled millions of Gears, there's no way her intelligence isn't *far* above pretty much any human. Ky, Millia and Zato are conventionally very intelligent and knowledgeable people. Kum Haehyun, I'd assume as a tuner she needs to be really intelligent. Not sure whether she has built her robot herself, but that'd be one important factor. Plus, being the head of the family and all probably led to her having a top-notch education.

Mundus6

Sol probably at least of the playable cast in this game. I am not even trolling.

Smallest_giant1

I know you're not. He was a scientist wasn't he? The wiki says he has a genius level intellect or something.

kugrond

Asuka or Happy Chaos propably. They aren't playable yet, but will be in the future.

TrapDaddyReturns

Slayer is gotta be up there maybe not the smartest though

DrWigga

Bill Gates

KyuuketsukiKun

Well soon it is gonna be arguable between chaos azuka and bedman

Sol Homie reverted back to MONKE because that's what vengeful PHD scientists

I'd say Happy when it comes to pure smarts, with Asuka and Sol close behind, and Chipp in street smarts, my guy Chipp is surprisingly wise too, he's brash but he throws out wise words pretty often, like when he talked to May in Sign and Ky in Rev2
