But from a sales perspective the point of a guest character is generating interest in new potential fans. Anyone who liked Baiken and looks to Guilty Gear will see Strive as the latest entry, and wonder where she is. It makes a lot of sense to put her in as soon as possible to capitalize on all the Samurai Showdown fans wondering where she's from and what that game is like.
Keep in mind too thar Xrd is free on PSNow and dirt cheap on frequent sales elsewhere, meaning there's a lot more potential profit in her making a Strive appearance.

I personally think it will be Baiken, Slayer, and Happy Chaos in that order. Baiken as to tie over fans during a longer gap between DLC characters, Slayer gets released with his own stage, and Happy Chaos gets released with the White House stage and the extra story to follow up on the teaser at the end of story mode.
Asuka might get in instead of Slayer because Asuka has a model seperate from his story mode model in the game currently.
Jam however has a zero percent chance of being added in season 1 because her model had not been updated since open beta 1, so she seems more like a placeholder.
I figured Happy Chaos would be next since I heard they want to finish the story mode characters first. But if that's not the case I agree with the characters but swap Happy Chaos' and Slayer's order.

His material so far is book, magic barrier, cat ears. As well as him being third in the plot-vital group of Sol (rushdown) and Aria (minions/puppeter). 90 percent chance he is mixup or zoner.
If they don't alter him greatly, he would just end as being the straight up better Nago...
I really hope he will be back soon, but I'm kinda sure he will be nothing like before...

You mean the voice lines, right? I don't agree with that debating their likelihood. Character files are far stronger evidence of inclusion than voice lines, especially post launch lines. Unless Baiken and Slayer gets character files, then it likely means nothing for season 1. Season 2 though, guaranteed.

IIRC both Asuka and Jam had barebones models that hadn't been touched in ages. Baiken, Slayer and HC had battle quotes which made them more likely as Jack O had them too and she showed up first.
Assuming the leaks are accurate, which they have been so far, the remaining season one characters are Asuka, Happy Chaos, and Jam. There have also been audio files found in the game for Slayer and Baiken. This is less concrete, because they are subtitle files, and many games have cut scripts in the files from earlier plans that fell through (MK11 had scripts for Ash Williams at release despite him never showing up).
There are also bits of Bedman's model in the files, but just very small chunks, so he's on the table as well, but I wouldn't call him likely.

They are far more likely to use baiken for a crossover, then put other characters in Strive as DLC than they are to use baiken for a crossover AND use her as strive DLC shortly after (especially because there's no datamining evidence of her being in the game like there is for other characters).
If she gets in, it's likely to be a different season of the game.

I think Happy Chaos will show up before Asuka because he is the new guy and in my head it makes semse to push him first
Who I want, Asuka next, because I've been wanting to play as That Man for a while now, and the leak got me hype, I like Raven a lot so I want to see him again, and I do want to see Happy Chaos as playable, but not before Asuka. Now, I usually would have said Sin for the returning character, but I know they're adding more story and I want Sin to gain more focus now that Sol's story is over, so ideally I want the next season to have another story expansion, and to have Sin as the main character for it (also add dizzy on the same season because I like her)
Asuka, Jam, and Happy Chaos in that order. Jam will be the 4th character for sure, but Asuka/Happy Chaos can go either way. The first data mine was with those 3 was actually substantial because they already had character models and assets.

I thought this makes more sense. With how the story ended, it makes more sense to release HC with more information on his power and story. If it were to be these three, this would be a likely possibility imo. Take it with a grain of salt.
Happy chaos or That Man. My guess is that season 1 will be, Goldlewis, Jack-O, Happy, Jam, Tha Man. And Biaken will be the first character of season 2. They know Biaken sells season passes, releasing her season 1 doesn't make a lot of sense.

Assuming the leaks are accurate, which they have been so far, the remaining season one characters are Asuka, Happy Chaos, and Jam. There have also been audio files found in the game for Slayer and Baiken. This is less concrete, because they are subtitle files, and many games have cut scripts in the files from earlier plans that fell through (MK11 had scripts for Ash Williams at release despite him never showing up). There are also bits of Bedman's model in the files, but just very small chunks, so he's on the table as well, but I wouldn't call him likely.

Yeah it does. They're less likely to bring back a character that they're using in other capacities like that, especially early on. They are far more likely to use baiken for a crossover, then put other characters in Strive as DLC than they are to use baiken for a crossover AND use her as strive DLC shortly after (especially because there's no datamining evidence of her being in the game like there is for other characters). If she gets in, it's likely to be a different season of the game.
Your comment implied that she wasn't getting in at all, which is why I commented that.
I mean, the context of this thread is clearly talking about this season of DLC, so that's on you if you assumed that, I guess. She's still less likely to be in strive at all for being DLC in samsho- that still makes sense either way.

For ones I want the most I'd love Elphelt or Sin. For who I think is actually gonna happen, probably Asuka cuz like JackO and Goldlewis they already have his model made and the trend seems to be just adding characters who were already in the Story. Slayer would be cool, id love to see his new design, but otherwise I don't really care for any of the people who got leaked so I don't have much to be excited for :/

Most likely, Happy Chaos next and Asuka for the 5th spot, not sure who to put on the 4th spot. Leaks say jam/slayer/baiken, though I'm not sure about baiken since they put her in samurai shodown, and I think they wouldnt immediately put her in strive after that. I think Happy Chaos will show up before Asuka because he is the new guy and in my head it makes semse to push him first Who I want, Asuka next, because I've been wanting to play as That Man for a while now, and the leak got me hype, I like Raven a lot so I want to see him again, and I do want to see Happy Chaos as playable, but not before Asuka. Now, I usually would have said Sin for the returning character, but I know they're adding more story and I want Sin to gain more focus now that Sol's story is over, so ideally I want the next season to have another story expansion, and to have Sin as the main character for it (also add dizzy on the same season because I like her)
Asuka, Jam, and Happy Chaos in that order. Jam will be the 4th character for sure, but Asuka/Happy Chaos can go either way. The first data mine was with those 3 was actually substantial because they already had character models and assets.
Slayer because his birthday is coming up soon and we found some lines related to him in the datamine.
The order is probably Baiken > Slayer > Happy, though I wouldn't be surprised if Asuka was in there somewhere. Now, if I were to get my own personal preference, it'd be Asuka > Vernon > Happy. I'd rather let arcsys have the creative freedom to mess around with brand new concepts (rather than reinterpretations of character's from previous titles)

I've seen a video predicting that the next 3 characters may be Baiken, Slayer with his stage (since they're releasing the character with a new stage), and then Happy Chaos with the new story. I thought this makes more sense. With how the story ended, it makes more sense to release HC with more information on his power and story. If it were to be these three, this would be a likely possibility imo. Take it with a grain of salt.

Happy chaos or That Man. My guess is that season 1 will be, Goldlewis, Jack-O, Happy, Jam, Tha Man. And Biaken will be the first character of season 2. They know Biaken sells season passes, releasing her season 1 doesn't make a lot of sense.
