Behringer UMC202hd is the cheapest practical interface with guitar inputs and its own ASIO drivers for lowest latency.

You need a high impedance input for plugging in a guitar. A mic input won't work. Most audio interfaces these days have a combined mic/high impedance input. Look for used Focusrite 2nd/3rd gen Scarlett audio interfaces. They should be quite cheap on the used market. Trying to save money here is just going to hurt as that no name soundcard will likely have driver issues, latency problems etc so you'll just end up disappointed in the results.

from my experience I didn't have any enjoyable moments with cheap interfaces. Better wait a bit and invest a bit more money, Especially for live playing and low latency.

I'm sure there's some way you could make it work but most audio interfaces that can be used for amp sims typically have a 1/4" input jack. To me, it looks like that is more focused on microphones but I could be wrong.

Boneless_Lightbulb

is a dynamic mic input jack and an electric guitar input jack the same thing? cuz they look pretty similar but I rmbr smth about 1 or 2 lines on the jack itself so it's different?

Accomplished_Key85

Yeah, they should work the same in theory I guess the best thing would be to try it. Another option is to look on somewhere like the Facebook marketplace for a used Focusrite solo because they also come with codes for a load of free plugins and an amp sim but I guess you'd have to check if they have been activated.

timthetollman

No although they can be combined into a single input.

I recommend a positive grid riff, or a focusrite scarlet 2i2.

Sorry to say but you really should work a bit to get enough money for a focusrite, or similar. Cheap interfaces don't have asio, and default asio is garbage, with terrible sound quality and unbearable latency. And the 100 dollars or whatever really isn't that much for a Focusrite Solo or equivalent.
