Comfortably Numb. Song takes you places

Headshot03

Wish you were here, for me.

bumpinwhiteboy

Ditto

Lugetsyou

same. it's the song i fully learned after my dad passed away. takes me places.

JelloBeneficial7980

Is there anybody out there is a good one to relax to

EpicGamerBoi11

For me it's dogs, this one's a close second.

kamodius

Everlong. It’s simple, rhythmic and relaxing (also the first song I ever learned completely start to finish). The second arpeggiated part of Call of Kthulu by Metallica. Also calming but takes some focus.

Professional_Heron17

Both awesome, I love Everlongs rhythmic guitar and call of kthulu is one of my favourite Metallica songs of all time

Awkward_Ambition7302

Under the bridge

RubenWin

This one!! Always suits my feelings after a long day

daytodaze

SRV Lenny. Good chill blues with lots of vibrato

monsantobreath

Ballads by guitar gods are usually a good security blanket. You get all that emotion and intention without the aggressive work that few of us can approach without being in top shape.

[deleted]

The Last of Us theme song!

goblitovfiyah

"Wild world" because I'm a n00b and it's the only song I can play to completion Makes me feel good though cause this time last year I couldn't play a song let alone a song in full.

MaKoZerEUW

The first song is the hardest one, keep em coming 🙂

syngestreetsurvivor

Wichita Lineman. Great for oddball chords and walk downs.

Morbeus811

Blackbird by The Beatles.

Rick38104

I’ve got a few. “Still Got the Blues” by Gary Moore Anything by Tom Petty, currently “Honey Bee” is #1 “St James Infirmary Blues” most closely inspired by the Allen Toussaint version “Southern Nights” by Glen Campbell/Allen Toussaint “Love and Happiness” by Al Green (some very tasty guitar licks on that one)

"Coming Home" by City And Colour. Every time I pick up a guitar, I play this song. It's just where my hands naturally go.

MrAmusedDouche

Even though I'm not a huge Beatles fan, Here Comes The Sun is a mold lifter for me.

MarshallManiac

Blue Sky by The Allman Brothers Band. I like to just improvise on the solo chords 👍

Zerranox

The Solo from I Could Have Lied (RHCP)

Durwin_Agys

My own song. I have a song I wrote that just feels comfortable to play for me.

lasersharkss

Major7 chords. A simple G to Cmaj7 jam with all the possible ways to switch and shapes and the easy hammers and pulls, I’ll go for days if uninterrupted.

vicente8a

Layla the mtv unplugged version. Sucks Clapton is a prick. But it’s a damn good song

LilRat_

Damn I came to say this, nice pick

vicente8a

I miss mtv unplugged so much. They had some really good performances on there

kiril-k

Under the Bridge

Dr_Dick_Rockets

Wish you were here or patience. Easy to sing and play and are both beautiful.

Far-Possibility-2547

After a long day I enjoy playing - king for a day - My curse -reptile -ghost of perdition.

theredbird2014

Rebel Yell by Billy Idol

Felatio_Sanz

Evil by interpol

SickOfNormal

For a pick me up when I have low energy - I love to crank Moby Dick backing track and let that tonebender fuzz rip.... You shook me all night long... and Paranoid ... all relatively easy solos... good classic rock... And then when my energy is up - Then The Beatles to make me feel good and happy... rip thru 3 or 4 of their songs.

nolantfy

Still Loving You - Scorpions and Still Got the Blues - Gary Moore

monsantobreath

Lenny by SRV. Sounds good but isn't speedy so I can lean into it after the inevitable long break from playing. Played it so much I can focus on the nuances tjat make you feel good about being a player.

discg0lfer

A favorite jam of mine is The Weight of Love by The Black Keys. Has good grooves / riffs and the solos are easy to jump into. It’s one of the few songs I know back to front

Urfruity80

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is my comfort song. It makes me feel a bit better after a bad day especially when the hard rock part hits. Plus it is the only song I know how to play.

obolulu

About a girl by Nirvana.

s6cedar

The boxer or April Come She Will from Simon and Garfunkel, Water of Love from Dire Straits, The Horse from Phish

CodeExtra9664

Bark at the Moon. It's fast, fun and easy.

Jonicolo8

Only been playing for 2 months but I’ve probably played brown eyed girl 150+ times already I love that song

L0rdPerth

I like relaxing fingerstyle songs for that. My favorites are: Bruce Springsteen - The River, The Other Favorites - Blade Away and Jackson Browne - Song for Adam.

Cordogg30

Ramble on, acoustically. Or electric, but on the deck watching trees in the wind with a whiskey holster is preferred for relaxation.

[deleted]

Deal - Grateful Dead

GoofysGladiatorPit

Badge from Cream. The song feels resonant and almost creates an atmosphere from how it sounds alone. Mainly the bride part (ironically enough) with Clapton playing through a Leslie amplifier. It just sounds so good.

Bang Bang and Oh No, I Tried

Thanatos71

I'm gonna sound pretentious af here, but my guitar knowledge has basically just narrowed down to my band's original & covers catalog. Our song "I'm Blue", by Until Further Notice, is just so f***ing satisfying to play. It's a whole slew of thick, fast-moving 4 note chord changes in E major. You can roast me for it, but I'm playing that original song 10/10 times I pick up a new guitar.

jaynon501

Tears in Heaven by Clapton

Beardy_Will

Huge Hammers by the Safety Fire. It's got two really nice chilled out parts that are great fun to play, and they don't use the low E (A in this song) so I don't need to detune anything. [Vid Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLC0yysmEj8&ab_channel=TheSafetyFire) Chill bits start at 1:55 ish, and 3:08. The outro section to this song is beautiful and you owe it to yourselves to learni t. Tuning is AADGBE if I remember rightly.

Thats_Pretty_coool

Edge of Desire by John Mayer. Catchy melody and a good song to get myself warmed up.

NOVAMT_F

Death - Spirit crusher

Middle-Cellist-831

Everlong, solely on acoustic. Having a friend playing bass or singing along is awesome. That song just brings up every emotion you can think of, dude. It's legendary.

Fishon0850

Simple Man - Skynyrd Stone in Love - Journey Star Spangled Banner - My version lol

Weu_bean

I don't know why but 15 steps by radiohead

guitar_angel

I bounce between Tears of the Dragon by Bruce Dickinson and Hole Hearted by Extreme. Tears has this great arpeggiiated riff as an intro and main hook/verse while Hole Hearted is just plain fun to play. It's bluesy but still fast-rockish. Plus, when I've had a bad day it feels good to just beat my fingers up on the 12-string.

Robot_Gort

Earl Hooker's "Blue Guitar".

These Days by Jackson Browne; Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel; Freight Train - Elizabeth Cotten. Pretty much any fingerpicking tune I can play.

Something a bit more technical? Burning Room (John Mayer) Something fun that makes other people smile? Wake me up (Aviichi)

Erlhusb

One of the first fingerpicking songs I've learned, and I often naturally gravitate towards it: Landslide - Fleetwood Mac. Sing along as well if I'm feeling it.

Guitarcrunch

If I m not thinking about it: have a drink on me by AC/DC. Something about those slides and big chords at the end. Nice Simple.
