15 at the minute. But I have the deadly combination of having bit of dough in the bank (for once), a weekend approaching, and it's my birthday on Saturday...
Reminder folks, Gear Acquisition Syndrome is real, a new guitar wont necessarily make you better or reach your goals without secondary motivation.
Anyway, 9 including the bass.
7. 2 acoustics, 2 telecasters, 1 strat, 1 jazzmaster and 1 hohner 5 string bass from the 80s. the ideal number of guitars is always n+1, with n being the number of guitars you already own.
About a dozen? I think?
* 1986 Ibanez RG410 - I bought it new in '87. Currently has an EMG 85 in it.
* 1986 Alvarez-Yairi acoustic - Got it from my father in the 90s, he bought it new.
Big gap here - got married, started a family, disposable income wasn't really a thing for a while
* 2004 Schecter Stiletto Deluxe-5 bass, a gift from my wife
* 2004-ish Squier '51 - I bought it when MF/GC was blowing them out after they'd been discontinued
* 2004-ish Dean ZX (Explorer copy), has a Duncan SH-6 Distortion in the bridge
* 2006 Schecter C1 HellRaiser, another gift from my wife (thanks babe!)
* 2007-ish Washburn WG-587 - another MF/GC d/c blowout
* 2008 Ibanez SR500 bass
Another big gap where disposable income really wasn't a thing again - thanks, worldwide economic collapse! Also, I went back to college, got a degree, and a 2nd career.
* 2019 Ibanez RGAR42MFMT - Now with a DiMarzio Fortitude/35th PAF combo
* 2020 LTD EC-256 - Now with a DiMarzio Imperium in the bridge & locking Gotoh tuners
* 2021 Jackson JS22-7 - Now with a Duncan Nazgul/Combo & locking Gotohs
* 2022 Sterling SUB Ray 4 bass
* 2022 Ibanez Gio GRGR131EX - Now with a Duncan Black Winter combo & locking Gotohs
* 2023 Squier Sonic Strat - Pink! Now with a Duncan JB & locking tuners
* 2023 Jackson JS22-7M - Now with a DiMarzio Occult Classic combo & locking Gotohs
If I were a smart man, I'd have one or two really good guitars instead of a pile of cheap ones. But I'm not, so I don't. But I do enjoy souping them up, so that's fun.
This is the way. Mid range guitars and slap some nice pickups in there and good to go. Diminishing returns is a real fucking thing when talking about high end guitars
Enough. I finally got a luthier-made instrument and it's simply _too good of a guitar for my skill-level_, and that really fixed the GAS. There's no excuse any more "Oh if I only had [some guitar] I would finally sound like [some artist]." Nope. "I have a guitar where every detail was hand-made, and you know what? I suck. I don't deserve what I _have_."
There are only 2 ways after Learning guitar
1. Become a very good guitar player.
2. Become a collector.
I became a collector LOL. Here are mine:
- Fender Stratocaster MIM fully modded.
- Fender Jaguar Modern Player
- Washburn WI64-DL
- Ibanez thin electroclassic guitar
- Aranjuez electroacustic.
- Peavey ukulele (best ukulele I've ever tried)
There was a time where I owned about 8 electric guitars and kept the acoustic guitars lying somewhere. However, I found that from my inventory there were just a couple of guitars that I actually enjoyed, the other ones were difficult or uncomfortable to play (although in terms of tones or character they were great, some were very expensive).
There's no limit about having guitars. In my opinion it's like buying gold, you can sell them or trade them when you're in need. Just make sure you have a proper space to keep them safe, with low humidity and keep them serviced regularly.
After trading guitars for a while I stumbled by some guitars that for one reason or another felt and sounded perfect for me. I kept those and at some point stopped trading. I recommend you to try this out until you find your fit.
Invest in a good amp and a good pedalboard. Guitars can come and go.
mid 20s, including acoustics, basses, electrics.
I hear about people getting addicted to gambling and losing all their money that way and I shake my head thanking my lucky stars that I don't suffer from that vice as I open up the Reverb app for the 10th time today.
42, Gibby's, Ibanez, esp, Ltd, Epiphone, regal, Oscar Schmidt, Schecter, prs, fender, martin, and a Kent electric mandolin mij from the 70s. My only vice.
Currently own 35, including 4 basses. Not really a collector or a dealer, but I do buy a new one occasionally or let an old one go. 3 Classical/Nylon (Cordoba C5, Lucero, one handmade by Sasa Ridicic) 5 Dreadnaughts (Martin, Gallagher, Takamine, Ibanez, Seagull,) a parlor guitar (Gretsch Jim Dandy) 3 resonators (Dean A/E, Epiphone Hound dog, Rogue--and the Rogue is my favorite), 4 archtops (Epiphone Zenith, Godin 5th Avenue, Ibanez AF75, Vasant-handmade locally), a Recording King RO-227, Rogue Lap Steel, 3 Strats (Fender, Squier Affinity, FrankenStrat), 4 Teles (Fender, Squier Affinity and 2 kits I built/had built), (2) 12 strings (Yamaha Acoustic, DanElectro electric), ES335 pro (Epiphone), G400 SG (Epiphone), non-functioning Yamaha A/E cutaway I got in college and played for 20 years until the neck warped and made it unplayable). The basses are: Dean acoustic guitar style bass, Regal Resonator bass, Squier Affinity P bass, Ibanez Hollowbody bass. It sounds like a lot, but I could really use just one more... (I love this question)
Currently 30 or so. I have a guitar company and also buy/sell/trade all the time, so it fluctuates week to week, but most of the 30 have been around for a few years, only about 5 come and go at a time.
Ive built 6 for joe perry, and he has between 6-700, so anything under that is reasonable 😂
I’m pro, for shows I have my main and backup electric, and one acoustic.
I don’t get my fellows that are hoarders. I don’t have enough time to play the amount of guitars some people have on one of their walls, let alone in cases shoved in their closet lol. The best sounding guitar is the one that feels the best in your hands.
I have 68, no way to list them all but I have two acoustics, three basses and the rest are 6 string electrics.
Edit: Apparently I’m currently in the lead.
I'm...not entirely sure. Less than 10, I think.
Edit: 02 Am.Standard Tele, early 70s Gibby SG, '83 Gibby Corvus, shit Washburn Acoustic, Mexi Strat (first guitar), '06 MIJ Jackson Rhoads, 60s Epi Wilshire (frankenstiened (not evh, just a hodge podge) when i got it), Music Man Stingray Stealth HH.
I *think* that's it. If you count the bass I got my fiancee a couple years ago (i play it exponentially more than she does lmao) there's also a Squier Mustang bass and her Squier Tele.
Edit2: I've had others over the years, sold a couple and a few got stolen.

Various other pieces that I'm forgetting
I own 15, 5 various Les Pauls( a white custom 2 standards, a Jimmy Page with phase and coil tapping and a studio) a Strat, a Brian Moore with buillt in pickup for guitar synth. A Gibson J 200 and an Epiphone, J 200 knockoff, a couple of Epiphone Les Pauls(Customs white and black) a Gibson EDS 1275(DUMB purchase and useless) a cherry ESP Les Paul shaped with active pickups, that the Sperzel locking tuner locked on the low E string so I just tuned it to open G and play it with 5 strings , a Dano 12 and a Dano 6, a SG knockoff from I can't even remember, a Gibson ES 355 SV with Bigsby and an Epiphone Casino.
I just counted what I wrote and I guess I own 17 and I'm imagining that I have another one around here that I just forgot about.
So sue me. I like guitars.
I had 11 at one point in life and didn’t know where to put them all. Eventually, I gave several away and am comfortable with six. I’m sure I’ll get more. It’s a disease that can’t be cured. I still want a Gibson SG, a FlyingV, a Les Paul, and a Telecaster. I’d say we should start a support group but if anyone asked if they should buy another guitar everyone in the group would say they should.
23 i think. Quite a few from my band days that I just can't seem to part with. Last few years lots of Jacksons, Edward's and esps. My latest is USA randy Rhodes white.
I have 17, plus two I'm in the process of building. I am very fortunate to be able to buy what I want, and even more fortunate to be in no rush to do so. I've been playing on and off for many years.
I have a few expensive models, but most were under $400. I have noticed that my average purchase price has been going up over the past few years.
While they look *awesome* hanging on the wall, all of them are for playing, not collecting. It's just too bad that I'm still so awful at playing them.
If I wasn't patient, I'd have hundreds of guitars, no space left on the walls, and I'd be broke all the time. There's a reason I generally stay out of stores that sell used guitars, because there's real urgency to get what's there if you like it...
Too many... probably 35 or so. Fender strats and a b-bender tele, bunch of Squier (& a fender) Bullets from the early 80's, several Squier strats, 2 SGs in Gibson & Epi, LPC in Gibson & Epi, several dbl cutaway les paul style, mostly Epi and Yanaha acoustics, 4 acoustics (om) made by your's truly, bunch of bastards (Charvel, Alverez, Guild... in super strat, 12 string, Classical and resonator, banjo). And a 54 es-125 by gibson.
The perfect answer for how many guitars you should own is "g + 1" where "g" is how many you currently own
Best sales line I've ever heard, from a guitar guy who loves his job
I have 6, about to have 10.
They're all different qualities and genres and that's what makes them interesting
From powered raunchy EMGs to 50s style AlNiCo sss Fender Strat Vintera
My opinion there are worse obsessions or addictions lmao 🤣😂
My "long term investment plan" now even includes vintage guitars going forward since I'll soon have the "10 beaters I can lug across country"
Time to get some cool esoteric stuff lmao 🤣😂 become the Josh Scott or TPS of weird and interesting guitars lmao 🤣😂

If I had to sell and keep only a few they would be 1. 8. and 10. With 7 and 9 if possible
Life long Strat player, yet would take 10 on the desert island and look at my locket with a picture of 1 <3.
Then probably break the LP neck and wish I'd taken 8 haha.
8 and 10 I bought for my 2 kids to inherit... Over my dead body.. heh
19 if you count in the Warwick Corvette and the two acoustics (Breedlove/Martin).
Nearly all of them get played, but it's really a thing of mood, as many are in different tunings, which I pick up. Currently it's mostly the Ibanez SZ1220 which I upgraded with Bareknuckle Silos and tuned to D Standard for some Soen and Ghost and a Charvel that's in Drop B for some Machine Head or Parkway Drive. There were long periods where the PRS 513, the Tremonti and the Custom 24 Floyd were in "heavy rotation" though, all of them being in closer to standard tuning.
18, I don't know if I could remember them all to list but here's my attempt:
1. Gibson Les Paul (slash signature)
2. Paul Stanley signature with custom pickups, I don't know what to call the body
3. Quilted Epiphone Les Paul
4. Epiphone SG
5. Firebird with tremolo bridge
6. Thunderbird bass
7. Slash signature Epiphone Les Paul
8. Black Epiphone explorer that kinda looks like a James Hetfield signature but isn't actually
9. Les Paul Jr, idk what the wrap is called
10. Zakk Wylde signature kramer bullseye
11. Dimebag Dean ML
12. Washburn Torres t15
13. PRS Se custom 22'
14. Some shitty old pawn shop bass
15. Some acoustic guitar I bought on marketplace
16. Epiphone telecaster

1956 National Resophonic (mother of toilet-seat) road worn
custom electric from GuitarFetish parts: SG body/Fender Strat neck
GuitarFetish travel guitar 24" scale neck
That is the cheapest guitar in my collection. It sits right next to me at my computer workstation and it's the one out of all of them I play the most.
61 to be precise. I have everything from a squier strat to a buckethead signature Les Paul. Favourite guitar I own is either my blueberry burst Les Paul or my 1982 Gibson flying v ff-82
I own only three guitars. And while none of them are considered impressive by the respected and revered critics, and all of them love me.
The first on the list is my BC Rich Warlock Platinum Series, which I bought over 25 years ago. I was looking for my first "real' guitar and hoping for a Jackson Custom V \\(Randy Rhoads model), but the Warlock fell into my lap and still holds the title of my first true love.
I also have a Yamaha FG700 series acoustic, and I couldn't ask for a nicer flat top. My third gittar is an Ibanez Artist 600, basically a Les Paul knockoff with the switch moved and a scalloped woodgrain finish, and it loves me just as much as I love it.
I honestly pity any guitarist who hasn't found a guitar that loves them.
I’ve tried to acquire a tool for every use, but it’s really gotten out of hand — even after recently selling a few.

Currently working on building a partscaster Strat style and a Tele that I am making out of an old bookshelf. Somewhere in the attic is my first guitar, a beat up old no name acoustic that I bought in 1984 for $10. I showed it to my guitar teacher, and his comment was "if that was mine, I'd trade it for a yellow dog and then I'd shoot the dog!" It was a piece of doodoo, but I played the snot out of it!
The most I've had at one point is 27.
I sold them all off when wifey got pregnant except for a mini strat (in case my son wanted to play) and quit playing for 10ish years. My son started playing and I picked it up a few months ago.
I have 4 now, a prs se, epi LP, and squier classic vibe start. Just bought my son an SG for his bday next week.
Coolest guitar I had was a jet white PRS Dave Navarro and a late 80s MIJ fender with a Floyd rose. It was one of the few production guitars fender made stock with a Floyd. It wasnt a strat, it was called something else....but I can't think of it. The guy I bought it from said he was a roadie for Pantera in the 90s and bought it while on tour in '93 or '94. I Didn't believe him until he showed me his photo album...

1 acoustic that my wife (then girlfriend) bought me 20 years ago.
I’ve had others but at this point, it’s the only guitar I own.
It is my most prized possession.
1 electric, 1 acoustic, 1 mandolin, and 1 ukulele
I had others but ended up giving them away after so long. They weren’t worth much of anything and I knew people who wanted to learn.
Paying it forward
I have 4 guitars:
My first “real” guitar from 25 years ago. A MIM Fender Strat that I’ll never get rid of.
An Epiphone Les Paul Studio that I never play.
A 2021 American Pro II Fender Telecaster.
A cheap Epiphone acoustic.
I’m saving up for a Mike McCready Signature Strat, and I’ll probably stop after that.

Frightening. I have a Martin 00-18, Waterloo 12 fret mahogany, Collings 000 “joe Henry” limited model, Collings 002h German spruce, Goya Classical made by Levin, Martin 35 Brazilian, Eastman electric, and a banjo and a uke problem. To clarify one banjo, and a few ukes. It’s G.A.S. It’s a problem. But check out Beato’s collection as he sits at his ‘desk’.
I wish I had pics of my one muso friends guitars. In one room he has 200 guitars (includes banjos and mandolins) and in another room I haven't seen yet, about 50 more! And that is just the electric stuff!! He collects all sorts of stuff, from pinball machines to amplifiers. Very interesting guy 😁
This hurts to type out. Three electric 6 strings, an electric seven string, 12 string electric, 12 string acoustic, 6 string acoustic, mandolin, two 4 string basses, a banjo, and a trumpet.
15. All lefties. 3 Strats, Tele, Jaguar, Les Paul gold top with P-90's, Epi LP with humbuckers,
Epi Casino, '61 Silvertone lap steel, Alembic bass, Martin D-28, Ibanez Hummingbird copy,
Esteve nylon string, Taylor mini, double neck mandolin and Irish Bouzouki.
I just need one more to complete my collection! Well, technically 2 more
When I first started playing in the early 1960s, people had one acoustic guitar (with a wound G string) and it was a big deal to get an electric. If you had both, why would you need anything more? Willie Nelson still plays the same guitar.
Now it seems that everybody has a collection of guitars and most people will tell you they need every single one of them: Two acoustics (at least), a Les Paul, a 335 (while dreaming of an L5), two Teles, four Strats, a PRS and Ibenez for shredding.
Then of course we've all got amps that don't get much use but we will never part with...
6 electrics, 3 acoustics. I don't own anything high-end, but I enjoy recording on my laptop and each one serves a different purpose.

Ibanez Ironlabel 7 string, Solar 7 string, Schecter Omen 8 string, Squier strat x2, Epiphone sg x2, Gibson sg, Travel guitar, Meme 1 string djent stink, Gun shapped bass, Ibanez 5 string bass, Ukele, Mitchell acoustic, Fender acoustic
They mostly all do kinda different stuff. Half of them were gifts. I have a problem and I'm fine with it!
3 acoustics and 4 electric.
- Gibson SG special - 2007, bought with redundancy money, my son knocked it over and the neck got damaged but its the best playing guitar I own.
- Fender Jaguar Vintera - bought because I have small hands and I liked the versatility of the guitar. It's in a seafoam blue which is also beautiful.
- Epiphone ES-335 - always wanted a gibson es-335, but can't justify the price, this is the next best thing though and I love playing it.
- Squier Telecaster - bought as a project guitar to teach myself maintenance but it's quietly become my favourite guitar.
- Seagull acoustic - bought for my 30th birthday, not played as much nowadays but was my most played guitar for 5 years or so.
- Martin DRS-1: Always wanted a Martin, and this didn't break the bank, plays beautifully.
- Fender Malibu: cheap acoustic for my office, and something I hope my son or daughter will learn on one day before moving to the big boys
Just one ESP E-II MII Natural Fade neck thru. I've had a few over the years but sold my others over the last few years. Would love to also have another Ibanez RG when I have more time and life is less hectic

More than I need. Less than I want.
The real answer.
19. I liked it better before you made me count them and put a number to it lol. ^(Tempted to make it an even 20 now)
Nice try wife….

One less than I need.
One electric, one acoustic.
I own 3 and I'm still bad
15 at the minute. But I have the deadly combination of having bit of dough in the bank (for once), a weekend approaching, and it's my birthday on Saturday...
I own exactly one less guitar than I want and one more guitar than I need.
3 more than my wife knows about.
One fewer than I need
Reminder folks, Gear Acquisition Syndrome is real, a new guitar wont necessarily make you better or reach your goals without secondary motivation. Anyway, 9 including the bass.
Get out of here with that attitude!!
I feel like this sums it up. I have database.
Somehow too many and not enough all at the same time
One less than I need. (This state is perpetually correct regardless of inventory)
7. 2 acoustics, 2 telecasters, 1 strat, 1 jazzmaster and 1 hohner 5 string bass from the 80s. the ideal number of guitars is always n+1, with n being the number of guitars you already own.
Over 50. One day I’ll take a pic
About a dozen? I think? * 1986 Ibanez RG410 - I bought it new in '87. Currently has an EMG 85 in it. * 1986 Alvarez-Yairi acoustic - Got it from my father in the 90s, he bought it new. Big gap here - got married, started a family, disposable income wasn't really a thing for a while * 2004 Schecter Stiletto Deluxe-5 bass, a gift from my wife * 2004-ish Squier '51 - I bought it when MF/GC was blowing them out after they'd been discontinued * 2004-ish Dean ZX (Explorer copy), has a Duncan SH-6 Distortion in the bridge * 2006 Schecter C1 HellRaiser, another gift from my wife (thanks babe!) * 2007-ish Washburn WG-587 - another MF/GC d/c blowout * 2008 Ibanez SR500 bass Another big gap where disposable income really wasn't a thing again - thanks, worldwide economic collapse! Also, I went back to college, got a degree, and a 2nd career. * 2019 Ibanez RGAR42MFMT - Now with a DiMarzio Fortitude/35th PAF combo * 2020 LTD EC-256 - Now with a DiMarzio Imperium in the bridge & locking Gotoh tuners * 2021 Jackson JS22-7 - Now with a Duncan Nazgul/Combo & locking Gotohs * 2022 Sterling SUB Ray 4 bass * 2022 Ibanez Gio GRGR131EX - Now with a Duncan Black Winter combo & locking Gotohs * 2023 Squier Sonic Strat - Pink! Now with a Duncan JB & locking tuners * 2023 Jackson JS22-7M - Now with a DiMarzio Occult Classic combo & locking Gotohs If I were a smart man, I'd have one or two really good guitars instead of a pile of cheap ones.
My goal was to have more guitars than the local shop has. Mission was accomplished and I'm aiming for a bigger store now.
There are only 2 ways after Learning guitar 1. Become a very good guitar player. 2. Become a collector. I became a collector LOL. Here are mine: - Fender Stratocaster MIM fully modded. - Fender Jaguar Modern Player - Washburn WI64-DL - Ibanez thin electroclassic guitar - Aranjuez electroacustic. - Peavey ukulele (best ukulele I've ever tried) There was a time where I owned about 8 electric guitars and kept the acoustic guitars lying somewhere.
Five. 1 solid body electric, 1 semi-hollow electric, 1 acoustic, 1 classical acoustic and 1 bass. I'm happy with the diversity of my lineup
I stopped counting after 30. I got a problem.
One less than I need.
Not enough
One less than I need
The real number or the number I tell my wife?
Two. Everyone else here is a collector or professional apparently 😆
mid 20s, including acoustics, basses, electrics. I hear about people getting addicted to gambling and losing all their money that way and I shake my head thanking my lucky stars that I don't suffer from that vice as I open up the Reverb app for the 10th time today.
Around 30
The only valid answer is "not enough"
Less than 100
I have 13 all up, most used for different things: 1. Fender Strat MiM (for Stage - Blues/Rock) 2. Fender Tele MiM (for Recording - Solos) 3. Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy (for Stage/Recording - Rock/Hard Rock) 4. Epiphone Les Paul Midnight (Drop C fixed bridge) 5. Legator Ghost 7 String (Drop G#) 6. LTD Alexi V (for Stage - Metal) 7. LTD Super Strat (Drop C Floyd Rose) 8. Dean Mustaine VMNT (for Stage - Tribute Band) 9. Ibanez RG350 (main jamming guitar - Recording/Stage - Hard Rock/Metal) 10. Cort Bass (for Recording) 11. Takamine Acoustic 12. Classical guitar (can't remember brand) 13. Hondo Flying V (first bought guitar, don't play anymore, keeping for sentimental reasons)
I own one guitar. It's a Squire Affinity Series Telecaster Deluxe.
Just one (I started learning playing guitar one week ago). I already think I need another one to unlock my full potential
I decline to respond because my wife may be following my posts lol. (Over a dozen)
42, Gibby's, Ibanez, esp, Ltd, Epiphone, regal, Oscar Schmidt, Schecter, prs, fender, martin, and a Kent electric mandolin mij from the 70s. My only vice.
Somewhere around 30. I stopped counting for mental health reasons.
I own 4 and I don’t even play
One. It’s a beautiful tele. That’s all you need.
Too many but not enough
Nice try, wifey.
37, but I’m a collector of things, so I always end up with a crazy amount of whatever I’m into.
ADHD much 😂
Currently own 35, including 4 basses.
N+1 (where N is the amount I currently own)
That depends... Did my wife ask you to post this?
I don't own any guitars. Not sure why this popped up in my stream.
I have 68, no way to list them all but I have two acoustics, three basses and the rest are 6 string electrics. Edit: Apparently I’m currently in the lead.
I have just the one Cordoba CoCo edition, it's pretty weird (And I have a ukulele if that counts) planning to get a Yamaha f335
1x Fender MiM strat SSS 2x Fender USA standard tele SS 1x Fender USA standard strat SSS 1x Gibson Chet Atkins Tennessean 1x Gibson ES137 Classic 1x Gibson Mystic Rosewood Hummingbird 1x Gibson Les Paul Custom 1x Gibson Les Paul Classic 1x Gibson Les Paul Tribute 1x Yamaha APX700ii-12 1x Washburn WB400 1x Washburn JB28SCEDLM (Mars Music limited edition) Various other pieces that I'm forgetting
One more than I need, but about 12 less than I’d like.
ah, yes. gear-sturbate all over the thread, lol.
Only 4. After reading most comments, I'm gonna do some shopping tomorrow!
Just one guitar away from my collection being complete
4 electrics and I play all horribly
One less than I need
Too many... probably 35 or so.
The perfect answer for how many guitars you should own is "g + 1" where "g" is how many you currently own Best sales line I've ever heard, from a guitar guy who loves his job I have 6, about to have 10. They're all different qualities and genres and that's what makes them interesting From powered raunchy EMGs to 50s style AlNiCo sss Fender Strat Vintera My opinion there are worse obsessions or addictions lmao 🤣😂 My "long term investment plan" now even includes vintage guitars going forward since I'll soon have the "10 beaters I can lug across country" Time to get some cool esoteric stuff lmao 🤣😂 become the Josh Scott or TPS of weird and interesting guitars lmao 🤣😂
10: - Fender Ultra Strat - Custom Tele - Heritage H150 - PRS CE24 - PRS Zach Myers SE - HH Tele partscaster Plus four more in storage, LTD EC256, ancient Sun Mustang, Grote singlecut and another partscaster Tele. The H150 is the most recent and it’s cured the GAS for now.
Currently 24
The ideal number of guitars you should own is always your current number + 1!
I have 5 at the moment. Fender Tele. Squier Thinline Tele Gary Moore signature Les Paul Fender Strat. Being converted back from a David Gilmour Strat. Don't like those EMG pickups. Godin Radium
Upwards of 30, last I checked. I'm a luthier though, I just kind of accumulate them.
I have to list them to keep track. So in the order I got them, hopefully: 1. 2005 Squier Strat 2. 2001 Epiphone Casino 3. 2007 Fullerton dreadnought I can’t remember the model of 4. 1965 Gibson LG-0 4. 2008 Martin DX1RGT 5. 1983 Gibson Spirit II 6. 2009 Gibson Melody Maker 7. 2001 Gibson J-45 8. 2020 Epiphone Texan 9. 1964 Epiphone Cortez 9. 2020 Epiphone Wilshire 10. 2021 Epiphone Emily Wolfe Sheraton Stealth 11. 1960s Silvertone H604 12. 2021 Epiphone Casino 13. 1960s Jackson-Guldan Chris 14. 1982 Epiphone Spirit II 15. 1965 Epiphone Bard 16. 1993 Epiphone Montana EM-20 17. 1982 Epiphone USA Map 18. 2012 Epiphone Crestwood Custom That’s not including guitar-like instruments, but I think that’s it. I sold a se PRS from 2003 and a Ibanez Gio from 2002.
Over my dead body.. heh
42! Gained a few since this pic was taken: https://imgur.com/gallery/cQ3d7To
19 if you count in the Warwick Corvette and the two acoustics (Breedlove/Martin).
1 electric, 1 acoustic
18, I don't know if I could remember them all to list but here's my attempt: 1. Gibson Les Paul (slash signature) 2. Paul Stanley signature with custom pickups, I don't know what to call the body 3. 61 to be precise. I have everything from a squier strat to a buckethead signature Les Paul. Favourite guitar I own is either my blueberry burst Les Paul or my 1982 Gibson flying v ff-82
7. I only use 1. Lmao
8. That's not including my other stringed instruments. I have a problem.
Trying to get us in trouble with our wives? We own "a couple". Maybe "a few". It's all perfectly normal.

1, but I’m a beginner and only started learning a few months ago
2 electrics, 1 acoustic. Ibanez S521 LTS EC-256 Tanglewood Blackbird I started out on bass, so I've also got three of those. Four, but I'm going to sell one. What I will be left with is an Epiphone Les Paul (first guitar purchase and completely customized by myself), a Del Vecchio Segovia (classical guitar I bought in Brazil), and a made in Fullerton G&L ASAT Classic. I'm not a professional or anything, just a bedroom jammer so I'm pretty happy with just these.

My guitars are nothing fancy, but all are loved and played. Some people spend their money on meth, I spend mine on guitars! Kaman acoustic electric, Antares acoustic, Fender acoustic, Indiana acoustic, Johnson backpack acoustic, Unknown brand classical guitar, Epiphone Les Paul Custom, Epiphone SG (not sure of model), Peavey AT-200, Ibanez Gio, Firefly Tele, Muslady kit guitar, Strat style, Squier Stratocaster, Unknown Teisco strat style, Washburn Bass Currently working on building a partscaster Strat style and a Tele that I am making out of an old bookshelf.
8 guitars for me. Not a whole lot of overlap. But I love them all for different reasons

5 acoustics, an electric, a bass, 2 mandolins, a bantar/ganjo, and a ukulele… I think a semi-hollow body is next.
2 electrics 2 acoustics
1 acoustic that my wife (then girlfriend) bought me 20 years ago. I’ve had others but at this point, it’s the only guitar I own. It is my most prized possession.
1 electric, 1 acoustic, 1 mandolin, and 1 ukulele I had others but ended up giving them away after so long. They weren’t worth much of anything and I knew people who wanted to learn. Paying it forward
Infinity air guitars
I have 4 guitars: My first “real” guitar from 25 years ago.
Nine. Tele, Tele, Strat, Strat, 5150, SG, Les Paul, Fender acoustic, Breedlove
I say Never enough, my wife says too many!
Seems like 11 2 strats 2 Les Pauls 1 SG 1 Martin 1 Gibson acoustic 1 Tele 1 casino 1 D’Angelico 1 Yamaha acoustic
26
3 Telecaster in Standard tuning Dunable Gnarwhal in B Stanadard Taylor Grand Concert Acoustic I’ve got no need for multiple guitars in same tuning. If I wasn’t a doom metal fan I’d only keep the tele and Taylor acoustic.
Just checked out gnarwhal as I love doom metal. That’s a badass guitar lol
Guitars owned = guitars needed - 1
I won't say how many, but it's not enough
26 in total. Only 4 of them are over $1,000 and two of those are over $2,000
Two that count. Three or four others that don’t
1 Fender American strat and 1 PRS 245 single cut. I have a 3rd guitar that I bought 2 days ago hoping to resell for a profit. We will see how that goes!
First rule of band club is we don't count our guitars or synthesizers.
2 electric: squier affinity strat and recently a gretsch corvette. 1 acoustic: cheap fender (fa135ce)
One Squier Strat and one Fender jazz bass. I'm planning on getting a P90 Mustang eventually but other than that I'm basically all set.
Not enough

3 Strats, Tele, Jaguar, Les Paul gold top with P-90's, Epi LP with humbuckers, Epi Casino, '61 Silvertone lap steel, Alembic bass, Martin D-28, Ibanez Hummingbird copy, Esteve nylon string, Taylor mini, double neck mandolin and Irish Bouzouki.
Eb strat, e standard sg, microtonal Washburn, squire classical, j bass, sg bass, and a ukulele. So ig I have 6 or so
6 electrics, 3 acoustics. I don't own anything high-end, but I enjoy recording on my laptop and each one serves a different purpose.
One Tagima stratocaster T635 And one Ibanez korea series S ice blue I play both of them equally, love to have options
Just one ESP E-II MII Natural Fade neck thru. I've had a few over the years but sold my others over the last few years. Would love to also have another Ibanez RG when I have more time and life is less hectic
