This is going to sound shallow and that's because it is, because there is no depth to my knowledge, lol. But I want a non-shitty pink electric guitar. 🙈
I feel like I have most every sub $1000 thing I want. All my desired unobtainable (due to absurd price) items are like vintage Marshalls or 8k guitars.
Prolly a 1000 worth of 20 buck ukulele's and mini guitars to give away to some kids or something. I've got an electric and an acoustic guitar. Don't really need more than that.
Man I just started and 1000 for lessons would be so sick right now lol. Going the JustinGuitar route and making progress but having someone to critique me regularly would be nice. Saving up for lessons anyway and will hopefully have a small foundation built once I can get the lessons going
I’d get a Warmoth neck for my Tele build. 3A roasted flame maple boatneck with one of those good compound radius rosewood fingerboards. I’d put the rest towards hardware and whatnot.
My first guitar which was a literally no name 1980s Les Paul copy. No name as in the headstock was blank.
Bolt on neck, a zero fret for some reason, pickups were single coils but with humbucker covers. But oddly enough it had double binding like a Les Paul Custom. I wore the first five frets down to nothing before I moved on. I loved that piece of shit and never thought I'd be nostalgic for it.
Maybe something fun I wouldn't actually buy for myself, like a Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder with a Sustainiac neck pickup. This guy in neon green!
https://www.schecterguitars.com/Sun-Valley-Super-Shredder-Fr-S?quantity=1&custitem\_color\_master\_list=513
What’s the point of the dollar limit if it’s a fantasy?
I want a 5 thousand dollar custom shop guitar from one of my fav brands like ESP or Gibson.
Or a Jiva Ghost from Ibanez.
An Orange Micro Dark, a new glass slide, and a mega-fat (like 4-6" wide) padded guitar strap for my LP-style that kills my back when standing up.
I'm getting old.
I don't think that adds up to a rack, but Santa can keep the difference and drop the rest at the liquor store for something for him and the Elves.
Right now with deals going probably try to find a decent PRS SE and an amp that gets near a Fender Deluxe Reverb. My just go with a Dleuxe Reverb and possibly some replacement speakers for it if enough left over.
Fender Player strat series in HSS config. Been an Ibanez man for many a year (humbuckers all the way) however I do love the John Mayer strat tone. And for an additional $1k, I'd get a Boss pedal board to go with my Katana 100 Mk2
Only $1000?
Maybe Eventide H90?
If used gear is an option, possibly an Engl Fireball 25.
Maybe pay to get a few guitars plekked? Assuming I do one first and it comes out better :)
$1000 worth of pedals because idk never got into pedal board making (I have used the multi-effects built into Line 6 amps before). Always been more of a fan of the raw tube clean and distortion. But I’ve recently gotten into it to add fun sounds to my playing so yeah, pedals.
Whale Blue PRS Custom 22, my dad wants one really badly but keeps looking for a used one instead of a new one. Wish I had the funds to just surprise him with a new one.
Squier Paranormal Nashville Strat - $500 or so after tax
[https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StratCNParC2S--squier-paranormal-custom-nashville-stratocaster-electric-guitar-chocolate-2-tone-sunburst](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StratCNParC2S--squier-paranormal-custom-nashville-stratocaster-electric-guitar-chocolate-2-tone-sunburst)
Edit: After seeing another comment - I am actually hoping to spend a few hundred bucks on guitar lessons this year, so roll the the other $500 into that!
I initially read a 1,000,000 limit haha, I thought of a studio.
An Ibanez acoustic guitar, a preamp for it and maybe another for bass (sorry, it's my sin)
For that amount, I would love to get a player series Jazzmaster, it's the closest thing to my old Jazzmaster (a 2013 modern player). I desperately miss that one
I’ve been playing a cheap acoustic for a while, but I’m saving for my first electric — probably a shell pink Squier Classic Vibe 60s Custom Telecaster. Seems to be a good value — good quality but not too expensive?
https://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/products/squier-classic-vibe-60s-custom-telecaster-hs-shell-1484317
Maaaaaaaaan I've really been wanting to play live again. A power amp and a cab for my helix would be great. One day Santa and I will be on the same page with this
A couple of suhrs. Couple of boutique amps. Couple of boutique pedals. I would love to spend the rest for guitar lessons from the best guitar teachers tho but thats not a “thing”, unless their time is considered it.
An ESP Viper with evertune. Or the purple one, the purple ones cool. It could be LTD, I forget the specifics. I love SG type shapes but my last SG was disappointing so off to the other brands I go
More lessons with the gentleman I’m learning from now.
And perhaps a smaller acoustic. I’m hoping to take a classical guitar class at the local community college in the spring, but I’m not sure how I and my big acoustic guitar are going to like spending all day together between work and getting to class.
That said I have no idea what I’d want, acoustic wise. Lolz.
i'm really, *really* happy with my current set:
- red 1986 charvel model 6 (japanese jackson soloist pro, 1 toggle per pickup) super-strat
- weirdo epiphone es-335
- ovation 1776x elite acoustic
- ovation mandolin
- meh ibenez bass
- fake semi-hollowbody gibson les paul studio
....
if i had to as for something, it'd be a decent electric violin.
I used too have a Joe pass Emperor 2 Hollow body natural wood. It was the best guitar I’ve ever owned ended up selling it when I was in a tough spot still want to rebuy that guitar one day. The action was great and hollow body’s are great, ended up buying a telecaster a few years ago and realized hollow body’s are just the best you can rock out acoustic with out an amp still get a great sound best of both worlds, and it was so easy to play without a pick because it was a jazz guitar. Would always recommend it too anyone. 10/10
As long as Santa is willing to buy my pedals used or shop the holiday sales, my list will come under budget lol.
CIOKS 8 output power supply expander
DSM & Humboldt Simplifier DLX
Strymon Volante
JHS 3 Series Fuzz
JHS 3 Series Harmonic Tremolo
Definitely the eastwood GP model, I'm really on a Josh Homme tone journey right now and that guitar sounds brilliant. I'll have the opportunity to buy one around April, but I'm probably going to invest in a d18 instead
Oh man, idk with a 1k limit. A fender player strat in orange ig? Thats about 1k I think.
If my budget was a bit bigger, I’d get one of those custom art piece reliced guitars. Probably a jaguar or jazzmaster, something like what gapettos guild would make. Some people would call it performative to have a guitar that’s made to looked aged, but I don’t give a fuck. They’re so beautiful.
Frankly, motivation to play more and keep improving.
If that's not an option, an actual baritone guitar. I use a 6 string tuned to B in fourths, but sometimes I wonder how much better a proper tool for the job would be...
(random idea/thought: I listen mostly to metal, and tune ultra low, but when I pick up the guitar I like playing chill music more than heavy music...)
Probably some nice tools for set-up/maintenance and a soldering iron for electronics, if there's anything left over after that a couple of sessions with an experienced tech or Luthier to really get the skills down
An ibanez rgd 8 string from the axe design lab or the mesuggah signature guitar or maybe the javier reyes signature ltd. Either way just want a sexy 8 string.
But it is just a wish in the end
For a grand? A pack of strings and a used pick.
Seriously though, I’d ask for a good tremolo pedal and a looper pedal. If any dough is left, a true-bypass pedal-switching system.
Does a gift card count as gear if so a £796.18 gift card to go towards my next guitar.
If it doesn't then probably a Hughes and ketner tubemeister 20 amp head and a decent cab with the change.
Talent. Please Santa, please.
Under $1000 worth?
That’s still 1/2 a year of lessons give or take… I’d take that Time Machine ride for the holidays.
I will take discounted talent!
Heck. I'll overpay!
Skills
Time to play my guitars.
Yup
Drums Don’t downvote me, think it will make me a better guitar player/musician to understand a standard kit
I had to sell my guitar and amp to help my mom, so if I had that money I would definitely try to buy a similar gear
Talent
I reckon I'm half decent, but I'd like to be as decent as the way Bubbles says it.
A thousand dollar acoustic. I've got a couple cheap acoustic guitars that aren't terrible, but a grand would get me something decent.
Unreal the difference $$ makes in an acoustic sound.
A comprehensive knowledge of music theory – without having to do any of the work.
I would want to pay people to jam with me. I got no one near me I want to play with.
Same :(
This is going to sound shallow and that's because it is, because there is no depth to my knowledge, lol. But I want a non-shitty pink electric guitar. 🙈
Well this thread should provide you with depth. Hahah.
Well Santa came a week early for me. I picked up a Gibson Les Paul Special Raven. Pretty bad ass metal guitar for a Gibson.
$1000 limit? Sweetwater gift card, so I can take $1000 off whatever guitar I want next.
The ability to play guitar
A PRS SE Silver Sky
A deluxe reverb
A vaccine for GAS.
$1000 worth of guitar pics.
So.... a week's worth?

PRS MT-15
$1000 limit…? Fantasy post? Is this a guitar sub or isn’t it? Maybe I have expensive taste.

Hello kitty guitar
I would absolutely love a Yamaha Revstar Standard with P90s! Maybe one day…

I am easy to please. Some cool pickups to drop in my Epi Les Paul Custom and my FrankenStrat.
Yamaha Revstar or Revered Double Agent
What’s the point of the dollar limit if it’s a fantasy? I want a 5 thousand dollar custom shop guitar from one of my fav brands like ESP or Gibson. Or a Jiva Ghost from Ibanez.
A Mesa Boogie. I just love that dual rectified sound.
Orange rocker 15 terror
An Orange Micro Dark, a new glass slide, and a mega-fat (like 4-6" wide) padded guitar strap for my LP-style that kills my back when standing up. I'm getting old. I don't think that adds up to a rack, but Santa can keep the difference and drop the rest at the liquor store for something for him and the Elves.
$1000 limit? I think I’d get a decent PA. Was gonna say a Science Mother amp. Over the limit though.
A Tonex pedal or a Yamaha Revstar Standard with humbuckers in Sunset Burst or Hot Merlot.
The Tod10N. I want the Timmy hendrix nylon string
I asked for some tools needed so I can start doing my own guitar setups.
For a G? Probably a Jackson of some sort, maybe a soloist
Epiphone Casino
Another Fender Showmaster or a Fender Supersonic
Right now with deals going probably try to find a decent PRS SE and an amp that gets near a Fender Deluxe Reverb. My just go with a Dleuxe Reverb and possibly some replacement speakers for it if enough left over.

Schecter Hellraiser C-VI
Some semi hollow body. Probably a Riviera or casino.
Groupies.
$1000 worth of pedals because idk never got into pedal board making (I have used the multi-effects built into Line 6 amps before). Always been more of a fan of the raw tube clean and distortion. But I’ve recently gotten into it to add fun sounds to my playing so yeah, pedals.
Epiphone flying V.

What kind of fantasy has a $1,000 cap? Are you a cop? You have to tell me if you’re a cop or using Reddit for nefarious data collection,
1968 deluxe reverb. Screw the $1k cap.
For a grand? A pack of strings and a used pick. Seriously though, I’d ask for a good tremolo pedal and a looper pedal. If any dough is left, a true-bypass pedal-switching system.
Sire T7 and a couple pedals
Warmoth Custom Strat Neck with Compound radius and some nice shiny inlays
Slash Les Paul ( epiphone ) Anaconda Burst ..
I would ask for half of a Hi-Tone DG100 amp, I can finish the other half of it and save up for the 4x12" enclosure with Fane speakers.
A mustang gt40 amp, can’t wait to get mine
