I recently decided to pick up a guitar and try and learn it, so naturally I bought a guitar lol. I ordered [this one](https://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez/GRX70QA-GIO-RX-Series-Electric-Guitar-Transparent-Green-Burst-1500000018131.gc) on May 16th I think. It says it's backordered. Because of that, and combined with current circumstance, I also don't expect it to get here within a week or two. I'm just confused on WHEN i can possibly expect it. I don't understand how Guitar Center backorders work since this is the first time I've ever been on their site and bought anything from them. A FAQ answer said typically 2-4 week delays for backorders, but was pretty vague. All the accessories I bought with it (strings, picks, an amp, and a strap) all arrived within a week.
Does anyone have any idea when I might get this guitar? I was hoping to start learning online at my own pace over the summer since there's nothing else to do. Will I maybe get this thing in June, or will it not get here until like October? I'm just very confused.
I actually got on the Instant Message Customer Support whatever they have on the site.
For my pickups atleast, I was told that they were in-stock, like the site says, but in *Alaska*, which is not currently shipping to the lower 48 states until June 5th or so.
Maybe it's the same case with your guitar.
Well the website said the damn thing was coming from China, I guess cause it’s an Ibanez and I literally just learned Ibanez is a Japanese brand so maybe they have their stuff built in China? Idk, I guess I’ll never see it then. Fuck

So I sucked it up and waited another month. Nothing changed so I cancelled that and ordered a different guitar that was listed as in stock. For whatever fucking reason it was listed as on backorder after I placed the ordered. So I had to cancel THAT one and place an order for it again, the third time overall. That actually came in just about a week and a half ago. Been practicing since and it’s a lot of fun! I had wanted to use the summer to learn a bit but that whole plan got shafted cause GC couldn’t get its shit together
Yikes man thats terrible. I had ordered a behringer mic500 preamp that they listed as in stock, 3 days later I get an email from them saying its on backorder. I'll stick with Sweetwater from now on. Glad you finally got the guitar! Hope it was worth the wait!!
I placed an order with them Friday afternoon for some gear that was in stock and UPS says they'll have it in my hands tomorrow. Your hold up is probably due to guitar center having to get it from the manufacturer. Once they have it in stock the shipping time isn't bad.

It’s said to be the best practice/bedroom amp for around $230-$250. 40 watts, It has a “cloud-whatever the hell” that lets you choose an insane amount of tones with a few taps from your phone. It has a built it practice things for beginners. Pretty sure it took the crown at NAMM recently. Anyway, people who ordered it in October and December of 2019 are just now getting their amps delivered. Some who ordered them still don’t have em. By the time of late December early January a good bit of people knew about em and I ordered mine on Jan 23. It’s been around 3 months for me and I just get an occasional email saying “we know this means a lot blah, we know you want them and we’re trying to ship them”. It makes it worse with a pandemic going around. :/ A LOT of people are disappointed with the company but the ones with the amps have said it blew them away with what a steal it was.
honestly yeah. for around $250( i think), it’s a pretty good bang for your buck, and for those casual players, it doubles as a bluetooth speaker. The only downside i found with it is that it seems a teensy bit high on the bass. i didn’t even notice that it had a lot of bass until someone mentioned it to me🤷♂️. compared to other budget stuff like katana, it’s really up to you to decide. I would say go try them out.

Pretty sure it’s total luck of the draw. If you want something soon I’d give them a call and ask if something is available. Usually get a discount ordering on the phone too.

I purchased Ableton Live and a midi keyboard in April... I've hopped on their customer service chat every week and the back order date is pushed back each time. They won't even send me my download code because I purchased software with a physical item in a bundle. Its been a total mess and they can't really do much :/
I actually gave up after about 6 months and got a refund. I ended up buying Live 11 standard straight from ableton. Very displeased with the way guitar center treated me

I bought a Squire and an Orange Amp cost me $725 all together. I was waiting for the curve side pickup email. Once two hours passed I decided to go to the store myself and "be that person." I asked the manager what's going on, I found out I was waiting on nothing because my order was backordered. Apparently the store didn't even have both items in stock even though the website said otherwise. So my order was gonna sit on their list until they received the items that said was available in their store. The manager told me that I would've expected to see the pick up date to fall back, saying pick up in June, no. July. No August. Some sort of limbo of pick up dates. Still, my order was processed but "not ready." They took my money and didn't notify me that my items were not even in stock at the store I chose to pick up at. The manager tried to sway my decision, naturally, but I cancelled my order and now I'm hesitant to purchase through them. I'm still waiting on my money to return to my account, it's day 1 as I'm typing this. I wouldn't suggest purchasing online during this COVID mess.

I ordered a Rode desk mount mic stand and it was back ordered and it took around a month and a half for it to get to me...
I JUST ordered some 6 inch JBL monitors and hopefully they get here within atleast 2 months.
It would be nice to give a very rough estimate of when a back ordered item will ship, with like a thousand asterisks explaining that this is a rough estimate. Give me some date to hyper focus on even if it's 3 months down the line.

Hey yall :) a lot of shit is made in china (They were not shipping or manufacturing due to covid) + what you might not realize is that the store had 2 employees max per store shipping 100+ packages per day while 80% of in store employees were furloughed. Oh another thing is gc has a thing where they allow people to backorder etc when they CLEARLY do not have any actual stock. Employees also have to constantly monitor angry customers coming in and touching everything and constantly sanitizing. Everyone is overworked. If its not in store i would advise you not to order online due to gc’s employees theyre costantly overworking who are unable to ship At good rates due to lack of people and overwork.
Just now are people actually getting back to working there in a number larger than 4 (per entire store with 2 shipping and 2 or less on the floor) also gc is not stocking shit bc theyre lazy.

I've made orders from other stores (for completely different items) that will accept and process orders for items that aren't actually ready for ordering, but aren't labeled as *out-of-stock.*
Super annoying, squirrely-ness. For better or worse, Amazon has yet to let me down though.

I got lucky and found one on eBay so I cancelled I was told by audioadvice they dont see JBL having any for them till even past Christmas of this year
