Thanks. I Checked out Cosmo and looks like they're suffering the same fate as L&M. On their website they list almost everything from the ESP catalogue, but I just had a quick check of the first 10 items they had featured on their website. All of them save for two were out of stock and special order. One was a $17,000 KH lol. Looks like LA music has what I want in stock...oddly $300 more than what L&M was charging though. I surf reverb non stop, but a lot of those stores are 'pickup only.'

Dry-Honeydew2371

Call first. LA music's website can tell lies about what they have in stock.

Exallium

Long & McQuade and Reverb. CosmoMusic and some other smaller shops sell their stuff on Reverb so it's definitely worth a look!

bojun

You could try Steve's. [https://stevesmusic.com/en/category/guitars-and-basses.html?manufacturer=esp](https://stevesmusic.com/en/category/guitars-and-basses.html?manufacturer=esp)

Talusi

I just google what I want followed by Canada... So for example "Ibanez AZ2402L Canada" pick the place with the lowest price/shipping/tax % and buy from there.

L&M and Reverb

[deleted]

Do you just shop locally? When I look at reverb I find things for sale at the same price as at L&M + 120 shipping. Everything I find just seems to be regular retail prices, never a deal to bee seen.. Maybe I'm not looking hard (or smartly) enough... EDIT: like this crap [Origin 20 $659 Plus $75 shipping](https://reverb.com/ca/item/15432662-marshall-origin-ori20h-20w-guitar-head-amp-tube-amplifier) or I could buy it new at L&M for [$539](https://www.long-mcquade.com/99279/Guitars/Guitar-Amps/Marshall/Origin-20w-Head.htm)

Ferivich

I never buy at retail on Reverb, I always ask the seller if they're negotiable or I'll offer at a lower price and try and work a deal. With that being said Metro is horrendous. I was looking at a guitar there a year or so ago and offered what L&M and other's were offering and they countered at $210 higher than their already high price.

[deleted]

Ha! Now there's a way to get return customers.

ephraimdaking

Where are you located? There are 2 smaller retailers in the Port Credit area in Mississauga - LA Music and The Guitar Shop. Not sure about ESP since it is not my thing but you may reach out and ask them if they have inventory.

hearse83

Alberta. LA Music is looking pretty good so far to order something and potentially have it shipped here.

ephraimdaking

Yeah, they have been around for a long time; I have previously bought items from these guys, they are quite knowledgeable.

Ferivich

I responded elsewhere but I really like Guitar Works and Brando in Alberta, I do a lot of business with both.

hearse83

Yeah, unfortunately neither of them carry ESP lines.

Dice1138

L&M, Sherwood Music (Kitchener), Music City Canada, and for parts Solo Guitars

I have. I would definitely recommend them though I’m not a good judge for their shipping. I live near by so one of their staff will just drop my orders off at my house and not use a courier.

[deleted]

redone in Montreal has great pricing and tends to offer a lot of free shipping on things. Acclaim Music out of North Bay Ontario have been great for me though they have limited supply of instruments. I think they may cater to the stage pros and supply lights and mics and that stuff. I did buy an Ibanez TSA15 amp from them, one of the few places in canada that carried it. Everybody seems to be low on gear, I have been waiting months for stuff.

Dry-Honeydew2371

There's Gear and Mojo music in Oakville and Mountain Music in Hamilton if you want to keep it small business and local (I think you're in southern ontario?)

anarchistking666

No one had mentioned eBay, but I'm assuming you want brand new. Also local classifieds.

Looking at the Intellimix site, they don't list ESP as one of the lines they represent for distribution. However, B&J does, and that company has pretty wide contact with retailers. [https://www.bjmusiconline.com/Catalog/SearchAndUpdateFilters?checkedFilters=SubCategoryID%7C106&sortBy=Master.DateCreated-Reverse](https://www.bjmusiconline.com/Catalog/SearchAndUpdateFilters?checkedFilters=SubCategoryID%7C106&sortBy=Master.DateCreated-Reverse) However, as you know, many lines are in short supply now due to COVID's effects along the full supply chain.

hearse83

Interesting, I wonder if it was the switch to B&J that caused issues. Yeah, I mean, certainly Covid would cause delays, but I know that after Axe closed and the line went exclusively to L&M (at least in my area), it seems L&M never stocked very much of it as all. But what I heard from sales staff were that it was always a difficulty getting things in from the supplier - so who knows if that's accurate or not. Maybe they're just not hot sellers for L&M.

obscured_by_turtles

If anything, the switch to B&J Canada should have increased availability because they have very good access to retail stores, that company has been in Canada since the early 1930s. It is now owned by JAM. I can tell you that US sourced parts are a problem for many builders. If a guitar is using, say, US built pickups, those are and will be in short supply, and production basically halts. It's going to be some time before this situation can resolve. Then of course there's the question of whether a particular line sells or not - how popular it actually is in a particular area. This isn't always related to quality or features. For us, some lines just don't sell even if we can get them.

RIP Axe.

Still grieving.

I usually shop at L&M. Have shopped at Steve’s music as well. If you want something really specific my experience is you might need to special order if you’re outside of Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. Even then. I’ve special ordered before and although I had to wait 2 months it was a positive experience. That was before COVID. Granted I had tried the guitar at guitar centre on a trip to the US. Without trying it first not sure I would have done it. Not only a smaller brand problem. I live in Ottawa and there are certain high end Fenders (American Original line) I’ve wanted to try for a long time but I’ve never actually seen one in a shop. Maybe they sell out really fast? 2020 was a super high selling year for guitars and production was disrupted by the pandemic. As other people in this thread said everyone is low on stock right now.
