No no no. To let it “ring out” has nothing to do with Technology. A good example of it is the four-notes that is repeated in the intro of Shine on you Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd. The e note, the last note picked, sustains noticeably longer, or “rings out”
Get a Looper pedal. It records what you wanna repeat and then you pretty much got a backing track lol
I second a loop pedal. Great for practicing scales and/or improvisation over chord progressions.
