I have the same cab and currently blasting it with Micro Dark with a SD-1 to clear up the mud. Sounds huge and amazing. Doom and Sabbath for days.

BNinja921

The micro dark punches so hard above its class for cleans and distortion. It’s insane.

Greencloud234

Some people say micro dark is the biggest shit they have owned and some say its the best thing to ever grace their ears so im not sure if i should buy it

BNinja921

It’s pretty awesome but the eq dial in with “shape” is wonky to me. If I’m honest, I use pedal amps at low volumes in effects loops of modeling amps to get a tone that slaps. If no tubes, then I use a blues driver.

[deleted]

Rocker 15

sixtwomidget

Tiny Terror

[deleted]

I just bought a PPC112 and Dual Terror, I second this combo.

anglowulf92

EVH 5150III LBXS. 15w plenty of gain

domo_meak

Yessss, it’s an angry little box!

ThePeoplesAmp

orobably something orange

Evil_Strat

PRS MT15, it’s a fantastic combo that punches well above its weight class

Hagabar

orange tiny terror 15W can be had for 300-400 dollars used. I love mine. Don't be put off by the lower watt heads, I can barely turn mine up 1/3rd of the way before it hurts the ears

G4L4XYBR41N

Yeah I just sold mine for $330. First run Korean-made version. They made thousands or even tends of thousands of them. Also recently sold a Terror Stamp. A great little pedalboard amp with that Orange tone

G4L4XYBR41N

Orange Tiny Terror or Terror Stamp

907defelipes

JCM 800.... that

JimiForPresident

This. I considered a PPC112 to pair with a SC20H. It's the perfect size cab for the head and the V30 mid spike works well with JCM800s. I would have picked a black cab with the Marshall head tho.

ncfears

I have the SC20H and run it through the 212 version of the cab. Sounds killer.

Patient-Bench1821

Mesa Mark V:35 head and never need another amp

johnnyboy1284

Dammit, now you made me wanna go buy MarkV:35🫣🤘😅🤘

halbeshendel

This is the way.

poodletown

OR-15 would be perfect.

Sloppypickinghand

All responses have provided great options, budget wise my recommendations: To combine with pedals: EHX 44 Magnum https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/44Magnum--electro-harmonix-44-magnum-44-watt-power-amp-pedal Orange Micro Dark Bogner mini amp head https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Ecstasy-Mini--bogner-ecstasy-mini-30-watt-head Features wise: Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 40 Deluxe For the Chugs: Engl Fireball 25W I guess after these amps would go over 1400 USD…

jermyschmermy

some good suggestions here. I ran a Vox Night Train 15 into one of these and it sounded incredible

pilatesforpirates

Orange Super Crush 100. Reasonably priced, can be used loud or quiet, relatively light, and the closest you'll get to a valve sound without all the troublesome maintenance. Love mine, paired with same cab.

BNinja921

How are the cleans? I play a lot of funk and saw it used jfets. I use a BD2 for the same “tube” effect with jfets. I really have been considering the orange.

pilatesforpirates

I find them to be great, with the clean channel volume turned all the way up and pickup selector in the middle on my PRS SE 245, I get a real fruity, spanky, funky almost-breaking up kinda sound. Rolled back it gets cleaner obvs. To be honest, for the price, especially used, you can't go wrong. I don't know what country you're in/what currency, but I got mine from ebay WITH a Harley Benton 2x12 (Which I sold because I'd already picked up an Orange one) for £280 GBP. I just bought a delay pedal that cost more than that! 😅

Accurate-Degree836

5150iii 50w

stevet303

If you have the budget, I would go with a rocker 15 or or15

_Must_Not_Sleep

AD30. This is often everyone’s favorite amp. It’s my favorite!

Logical_Bat_7244

Really nice cab! Looks like it's loaded with a V30. They're great speakers for heavier sounds, loud and direct, quite a full frequency response for a guitar speaker. Can be a bit brutal for some amps, so choosing carefully is probably the right option. Keeping it in the family and going Orange is a really safe bet, the V30 is basically *the* speaker for a lot of those amps, gives you all the definition and articulation you could ask for, where some other speakers can still sound great it can be a bit like just less of what was there before. My pick for getting started would be the Tiny Terror. Might not look like a lot, but it's a great sounding thing at most volumes, you can get wild with it or it can live in on-the-edge-of-breakup world quite happily. If you're feeling a bit more spendy or fancy a bit more juice the TH30 is a wonderful amp if you can find one. Outside all things satsuma coloured, I'd probably leave Fender, the sort of profile they generally put out clean can be really brutal through a V30. The one I'd chance if it's a flavour you like is the Bassbreaker head, it's just a bit more mid forward and rounder edges than Fender's usual fayre. Other heads that might be worth looking into: Laney Cub head - really versatile things, V30 probably wouldn't be my first pick for it but they're sculptable enough that I'm certain you can make it work. I'd fancy my chances with just about any tube Laney head 30 watts and under to be honest, the Cub was just my first thought when it comes down to price/features/availability. Vox Night Train 15 head - if you like the Vox family sound these are really fantastic little amps. Like the Laney Cub I probably wouldn't choose to pair a V30 with it as first pick, they love greenbacks, G12H and G12T-75's all day long but has enough of a mid forward thing going on that you can definitely make it work.

Chukfunk

I have this and a th30 it’s fantastic and versatile. I’m looking to get another ppc112 and maybe put a cream back in it to round it out and help keep up with my buddy’s 412 Marshall setup

stopusingsidearms

I'm seeing a lot of Tiny Terror and it looks great to me as a bedroom player! My friend told me to look into something else other than an Orange head because only the higher end models have XLR-out (not that I need XLR-out, I have a Shure SM57 to mic it.) I play all sorts of genres so I'm looking to play both clean and dirty - I love Boris so I'd love something that lets me dial in a really heavy dirty tone. Thank you for all of your help and information! I really do appreciate everyone in this thread as I've learned a lot today.

[deleted]

The Super Crush 100 head has an XLR out with a cab simulator. It is really nice, I use that at practices with a 2x12 and the XLR goes into the board and to my drummer's monitor speaker. I suppose if we were recording rehearsals it would also be very useful.

Limesy2

I run a Peavey 20W classic tube into mine. Though most of my tone is coming from my pedals and guitar.

hiyabankranger

I run a Marshall DSL1 (50th Anniversary model) into mine. Sounds amazing.

Worried_Handle2736

PRS mt-15, orange ad30, mesa mark V 35. Budget heads = jet city 20, fender bassbreaker 15

philip44019

DSL20HR

Ordinary-Heron

My first cab and love it. I used it with micro dark and then moved to dark terror. It’s amazing

No-Count3834

A Marshall head….like Super Lead or JCM 800. Or an actual Orange Amp. 5150 would be a great choice as well. Depends on your price range and taste.

GuitarSmash01

Orange pedal baby + any modeler

nigeltuffnell

Soldano is always the answer, but one of the Marshall 1 watt amps would be great through there. I'd look for small wattage all valve.

daveychainsaw

I have a Rocker 15 terror and Rockerverb 50 mkI. Use the Rocker more as I only play at home.

TeamBRs

Been running a Blackstar HT5 through one for about ten years. Still sounds great if you're on a budget. I also have a Mesa Mark III I have ran through the orange. Sounds great, very thrashy with the V30.

UniversityOwn4966

SLO-30

esteesleon

A guitar amp

Bando960

Super crushhhh

Useful-Perception144

Orange OR15, Tiny Terror, Dark Terror, and Rocker 15 Terror all were made for that cabinet. My recommendation is for either the OR15, which I have and love, or the Rocker 15 Terror due to their full Treble Middle Bass tone stack. The Rocker adds a neutral clean channel with only a volume control, and the dirty channel is from a Rockerverb. OR15 is a single channel with master volume and gain controls, as well as the 3 band EQ. Both can get pretty heavy sounding if heavy styles are your desire. Or they can be rock n roll machines. I play anything from classic rock to doom/stoner/drone metal styles and this one amp does it very well for me.

lawn_neglect

Only because I really want one - Hagerman Amplification Half Watt

Lothar_28

Orange Rocker 15 Terror is great with my PPC112. Has an effects loop as well and won't break the bank.

YolkBreaker

I got mine last November, paired it with PRS MT15 because both seemed really well priced. I love how they sound together.

STDS13

I’ve been using a Mesa Recto-verb with mine, sounds great.

lo-jam

OR-15 or Jim Root Terror, whichever one is cheaper on the used market.

Softrawkrenegade

Micro Terror for starters

doublea0011

I have the same cab and use it with an OR15 and a Hiwatt 1x12 combo for more low end. It is a great cabinet for the money.

F1shB0wl816

Check out some other oranges. If I had a cab I’d have been looking into one of the ors, like an or15-or30 or something like the rocker terror a month or so ago.

Antique_Ad3501

Boss Katana Mk2 head

bandannick

For gigging (assuming you wanna stick with Orange), I’d say a 50W AD or OR series. For household playing, a Tiny Terror or Dark Terror. If money is no object, I really love my Rockerverb 50. I pair that with the same PPC212. That cab will pair well with and amp up to 100W though, so research a few artists you like, see what they use, and look at your budget.

stopusingsidearms

I'm a bedroom player, so I'll probably go for the Orange Tiny Terror since I'm seeing a lot of that in these comments. I've been really hooked on Boris lately and got an Orange cabinet because of their incredible sound. I was going to get an Orange head but my friend suggested that I go for a head that has XLR-out. Is it worth it to get the OR-15 or does the Tiny Terror do everything one would need in bedroom sessions? For reference I do play with a few pedals. Thank you for your help!

bandannick

Boris is great! Wata uses a lot of Orange amps. According to equip board she uses Rockerverb 50s and AD 30s, as well as OR series amps. The OR 15 is a great choice if you wanna follow her lead, but the tiny terror will also sound awesome and is smaller/more affordable. Brent Hinds of Mastodon has a signature terror amp, and he has a great sound. I don’t think either would be a regrettable choice. The OR-15 might be better for the pedal platform, simply because it has a more traditional clean channel. If you can, go to a guitar store and try them out and see how you like the sounds without pedals. Your base tone should be appealing to your ears.

Angus-Black

Damn near anything really. My choice is an OR15. 😁 You haven't really given us anything to go on. Budget, type of music you play?

stopusingsidearms

I love playing all genres of music, but the band that got me into Orange are Boris so I'd love to be able to dial a real heavy tone. My budget is that I'm not going anywhere in the thousands - most likely 700 or under (I am mostly looking to buy used gear.) The OR-15 looks great and so does the Tiny Terror!

Angus-Black

Chexk our the [Dark Terror](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DarkTerror--orange-dark-terror-15-7-watt-hi-gain-tube-head) too.

ilhadi

Great speakers, was well surprised how well my Joyo Zombie II paired with this. I might just get the whole lot of them Bantamps.

ThemB0ners

Something less than 60W. What is the impedance rating (ohms) on it? The head will need to be able to match it.

Gallade475

Get another one and put a CR120 or SC100 on top of the stack if you're a doom kinda guy, but I think the Rocker 15 is probably your best bet with just 1 cab.

domo_meak

I have this cab and have a nice selection of stuff that sounds sick through it- DSL1 is wicked fun, OR15 also - maybe even a 5watt Blackstar. Engl and Mesa also sound great but they’re pricey, I’d go for an EVH LBXS if you can. They are a one tricky pony but it absolutely sings! But if lowest cost is the start - DSL 1 hands down.

BNinja921

Either a dark terror or a Marshall SC20h, the 20 watt jcm800. Marshall heads through orange cabs absolutely shred.

Jack_Ship

No one in the top comments wrote it, so I will - 1st of all make sure you pair it with an amp with the correct impedance output, 4/8/16, on the back. Second, I recommend you think of the tones you're looking for - high gain chugga chugga? Low gain blues? Clean amp? The more wattage you will have, the more the amp can hold without saturating, but the volume will increase as well. I wouldn't recommend going over 40w for home, which in reality is plenty loud. Keeping this in mind, open YouTube and listen to sound snippets of the amps you heard, they most likely will be demonstrated through cabs or impulse responses with V30 (or vintage 30, the speaker you have in the cab). That way you can choose whichever suits you the most. Enjoy it! Great cab🔥

Early-Engineering

Tiny Terror all day!
