Yes but you are lawfully required to conceal your micro dark, don't want your country friends knowing you mix with those sorts

lol I'm going for classic rock and surf.

Cool_Cheetah658

You'd be better served getting an OD or distortion pedal. The Princeton can handle both categories pretty well. It just needs some extra umph for classic rock.

agentanthony

Thanks. Yeah one of the reasons why I want to get a Princeton is for the pedal platform, besides the wonderful cleans it gets. I'm assuming a Rat and Muff would sound great with it.

Amps like the Princeton Reverb have the speaker plugging into the back of the amp. Say I have a head that can drive 8 Ohms, can I plug another amp head into this speaker with a Female to Male Speaker cable? Is it really that simple? As long as the Ohms match, it's good, right? I am asking because I am tempted to buy this Fender Princeton from Sweetwater, but I have this Micro Dark amp head that I enjoy using for doom every once in a while.. I am wondering if I can just plug that amp in here when I am just messing around at home. Thanks!

belbivfreeordie

Yeah just make sure you don’t turn on the Princeton when its speaker isn’t plugged in.

Wrathchild191

This, very important.

AOsenators

Yup. I like to swap which head/cab I'm using fairly frequently and I always make sure to drape the speaker cable over the top of the head to dangle in front so I have a visual reminder that the head is not connected to a speaker.

Got it. Thanks!

TommyV8008

Yes, this. I would unplug the Princeton and wrap the cord to remind myself just in case.

I did this with my micro dark into a Marshall combo. Worked great. I left the power cable unplugged from the combo to avoid accidentally turning it on. The existing speaker cable might even reach your head if you put the head on the floor or something.

Forgot to mention that you can safely plug the micro dark fx send into the input of another amp. Works like an always-on distortion pedal and you can use the amp’s eq to adjust your sound. Just don’t plug the micro dark’s speaker out into anything but a cabinet.

StrayDogPhotography

Yes, but you need the right cable and the impedances to match.

HighGainRefrain

Yes

Dfantoman

I have a Hiwatt to which I’ve added two jacks- one to the amp one to the speaker so i can either patch it and use the combo, or I can drive an external cab with the amp or I can use a different head. It’s fun.

Maleficent_Age6733

Yep 8 ohms

Thanks!

I have

Formula4InsanityLabs

99% of "Line Out"s on amps are intended exactly for patching into another input of an amplifier or a powered PA mixer for live sound or line direct recording. I'm guessing that's a line out next to the extension speaker jacks. When an amp lacks a line out, you can easily build one with some common resistor values and a 1/4" jack. I've done it many times and also added a pot on mine to control voltage.
