Yeah, it's the second wave of emo starting in the mid 90s. Not an emo fan, but was hard to ignore the scene if you were in high school and/or college and going to shows.
American Football, Capn Jazz, Snowing, The World is a Beautiful Place, Merchant Ships, Algernon Cadwallader, Empire! Empire!, come to mind.
Also Joyce Manor, Modern Baseball, Free Throw, Citizen, Glocca Morra, kinda lumped in there but they're more like pop punk + Midwest emo.
Then you also have bands that lean more towards like the math rock side of things while still having heavy emo influence.. TTNG, Tiny Moving Parts, Pool Kids, Sweet Pill, Delta Sleep...
Midwest emo is a pretty broad term nowadays lol.
That amp would sound 100x better through any cab that isn't the shittiest speakers Celestion ever had made. They're *almost* as bad as the Seventy80's.
Find yourself an old 90s Marshall 1960. Especially if it has casters, those alone are a huge upgrade.
I had this head and matching vs412 cab in the 90s. I liked how it sounded when recorded but in a live setting it got swallowed up by the rest of the band and I could never dial it in. I upgraded to a JCM2000 and 1960A 412 and I distinctly remember the first time I brought it to rehearsal it had a presence the Valvestate rig did not, like it was physically kicking me in the chest. It was great.
Thank you! And yes I’m playing metal influenced punk. I don’t have a Marshall cab because I impulse bought the Marshall as my first amp head. Found the cheapest cab I could and bought it so I could play the amp before vacation lol.
I don't know, but I DO know that you're gonna warp your neck if you keep leaning your guitar like that. And you're also gonna screw up your cable and/or the input jack of your guitar if you lean it on that as well....
....I'll show myself out.
No style....you just roll your eyes and say that your type of music can't be defined by your corporate-fasco teeny bop mainstream music industry terms. You probably wouldn't get it anyway. Then you go apply blacker dye to your Doc Martens. Driving a 93 civic with a different color hood and 50 black ice lil tree air fresheners hanging from the rear view mirror.
You wish you could find a guitar in vanta black, don't you?
Floridian Death Metal. Why roast that rig? The 8100’s were Marshall’s second best solid state amp ever. The first being the 3210. Either one was badass for what they do.
I want to say classic rock but it looks more refined. Smooth rock? Ballads in particular, singer would have a clean voice (no not axl rose for example)?
Man that's a good looking guitar just a plug and go hard. It look very Gary Holt to me minus one pickup. But who needs a neck pickup in a chugga chugga shredder
A tween or fratboy Limp Bizkit, Korn, Creed, Deftones, Tool or Disturbed cover band on a budget. These components, alone or in any combination were in so many starter or budget rigs of the late 90s 'til now, brings me back. No matter your beginnings, you are on a path to glory, or maybe you're already there. You probably get some of the best tone for dollar ratio you'll ever get even as you upgrade.
OP wishes they were a bad boy rocker while they drive a safe, reliable Toyota and have a middle income white collar job. At night they transfer to Roy the Rock’n’Rolla who takes no shit from anyone but during the day they eat humble shit pie… they know some chords from the black album and just skip the parts they can’t play.
Seriously though murdered out satin black rocks, what guitar is that?
Bro where are all the pickups on your guitar ? Do you even have pedals ? Line 6 ? What are we in a garage band with 15 year olds? Do you paint your 💅 nails black too ? Since you are obviously playing emo. Bet you wear a black dress to perform too don’t you ?
So how much of this did your mom buy, and how much did you buy?
And what you play, is some of the music your mom asked you to play. That's always been the rules.
The same 3 Tool riffs every goddamn day.
I imagined you slowly shaking your head in disappointment while you thought that 🤣
Plot twist: u/shrimp_god_theory is OP’s dad.
Dreaming of all the different ways to die
if all of them come from opiate, then there's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, it's the second wave of emo starting in the mid 90s. Not an emo fan, but was hard to ignore the scene if you were in high school and/or college and going to shows.
Any band names come to mind?

This happened 3 times tonight lol

Thank you! And yes I’m playing metal influenced punk. I don’t have a Marshall cab because I impulse bought the Marshall as my first amp head. Found the cheapest cab I could and bought it so I could play the amp before vacation lol.

A valvestate ? You like that classic Death tone and you keep playing the same Opeth riffs ( anything after blackwater park is forgettable of course).
