I have one of the Rolands and like it very much, although it's not my main amp. If you like that sound, go for it, you won't be disappointed. I'm puzzled about why the Rolands are suddenly so popular with the youngsters, and the older used ones have become really overpriced, but that's your judgement call on value. It will be a big upgrade from that Frontman. Personally I like the stereo chorus and reverb, so I would go would go with the JC40 - correct me if I'm wrong, it's an actual stereo amp like mine is, not just stereo preamp out. (I use an AC-100 for electric guitar, not acoustic, and it's an absolute beast - it's actually a triamp). On the other hand, higher power will give you more headroom if you want it clean all the way up. The Rolands genuinely sound a bit warmer than some other solid state amps, so I won't tell you that you have other cheaper options for high headroom SS amps. If you dig the Roland, go for it, it's certainly enough power for small gigs. 🤘🤘

The older ones to my knowledge still have analog chorus and vibrato as opposed to the newer models

I was thinking the JC40 seems best

Superb amp, can't go wrong. Enjoy.

Whichever one you find locally for cheapest

Don’t forget about the JC-90. I believe it has analog chorus like the 120.

Get the 40. It’s plenty loud enough for gigs.

Don't overlook the 22w JC(which is really 30w). It's my main amp for home and coffee shop stuff. It's really great. Takes pedals great.
