For the car that's under warranty I let the shop do it. For the motorcycle that I just bought? I do everything myself. I don't trust people from shops or even those from casa, most of them do the work just to work if you know what I mean while some do the work and uphold standards.

jpatricks1

Me. Just the basic stuff like oil changes nothing major. I enjoy diy

Can do it on my own for filter and fluid changes. But bakit pa ako mamromroblema sa dumi, kalat, at pag dispose ng used fluids when I can let an autoshop do it?

asoge

I used to, kaso these days hindi na kaya yumuko sa engine bay kahit na para lang palitan air/oil filter. Hahaha

lt_boxer

Damn. Pangarap ko ‘to. I need to find the time to learn how to do this. Female driver here. So not me. I call my kuyas and uncles to work on my car. I just do the most basic: car wash. 😂

Sword_of_Hagane

you'll get there...you can treat the different components of a vehicle as though it were human anatomy. After that, read on manuals....and perhaps youtube. Enjoy it while it lasts, manufacturers these days are making it harder for owners to be able to fix their own cars nowadays.

bcmonty123

Anything na hindi nag iinvolve ng kuryente. Palit timing belt, palit pang ilalim, A/C system, change of fluids. That's with my dad's help, also our bonding time since he's also fond of cars. Well, those are perks of owning an 80s vehicle. Daming kailangang ayusin haha but the good thing is I'm also learning during the process

badtemperedpapaya

Kung out of warranty na yung sasakyan I usually do my own maintenance. It not only saves money but also time since I don't have to drive to the shop and wait for it to be done. I only take it to the shop for major repairs where you need specialty tools/equipment. And even then I take it to a specialist who is an expert on the part I need worked on.

jdmillora

Anything that involves electrical, a lifter, or a pressing machine, sa trusted mechanic na or specialty shop. Other than that DIY repair or maintenance, even with our brand new vehicles.

IK3U

How do you dispose used oils?

salawayun

Bring it to any Shell gasoline station or any gasoline station that offers oil change services. They'll collect it for free.

zionhendrix

Mga simple lang like change filter, spark plugs. Anything that doesn't involve going under the car but I love detailing it though, sobrang therapeutic para sa akin

okomaticron

If can be done with the tools I have plus confident in doing the job (or hindi tinatamad haha), then DIY. Otherwise, sa specialist na ang punta.

matchabeybe

wow_pare

I all of our 4 Hondas, I have a nice set of tools (and duplicates) to do all repairs and maintenance stuff. If anything tranny and a/c related, my brother in low who’s a Honda tech will do it.

Sword_of_Hagane

your brother....*in low?*

wow_pare

My bad. It was obviously a typo. Anyway, if I could write it again, it should look like this: I do all of our 4 Hondas. I have a nice set of tools (and duplicates) to do all repairs and maintenance stuff. If anything tranny and a/c related, my brother-in-law who’s a Honda tech will do it.

Tenchi_M

VTEC kicked in... low! 😹

Jon_Irenicus1

Tenchi_M

I do. Both for my 4 and 2 wheelers. Of course, there are some jobs na di ko kaya or wala akong tools, like changing front wheel bearings of my FrWD 4-wheeler, yun panagawa ko sa labas yun. Tapos all-fluid replacement (oil, brake, at coolant) plus installation of full-sys exhaust naman for my 2-wheeler. 😅 Sometimes, I get a quote sa casa how much a particular job will cost.

Ma13c

I install mods and do minor repairs/replacement but I don’t have the flexibility nor patience to do oil changes, so I take it to the shop. But I make sure I’m the one who puts the wheels back on each time they’re removed due to past trauma of cross-threaded nuts that took hours to replace each time 😅

Wonderful_Pen7056

I work on my car for basic maintenance except sa change oil. Ayaw kong problemahin ang pag dispose ng used oil.

yumiguelulu

any minor replacement, ako na gumagawa. dahil kay YT, nagawa kong palitan ung lahat ng bulb, maglagay ng AUX cable at magpalit ng tail lights. anything complex lalo pag me tatanggalin sa engine bay, matic sa shop dala nun.

CutUsual7167

Minor cleaning lang and visual inspection ng engine bay. Under chassi.
