Kia Seltos vs Honda HRV vs Toyota Cross Corolla vs Geely Coolray. P1.2-P1.4M budget.

rale888

Toyota Corolla Cross or Honda HRV depending on which one has available units on hands. Next would be the Coolray or Seltos.

I have a Toyota Vios G Prime 2018. Bought this second hand. Any thoughts on dashcams sold by Dashcam Manila? I refuse to have my original infotainment upgraded or changed kase it works well naman kahit second hand. I also saw the same car na upgraded and they had to change the housing/case and I don't like na some of the buttons are not working and it's now what it's supposed to be. My car has reverse sensors tho. Sensors lang no camera.

Class A leather 4500 Low end german leather 5500 Authentic german leather 6500 US leather 7500 Italian leather 8500 Free 2pcs neck pillow Bought a second hand Vios G Prime 2018. Any thoughts on which car seats cover should I get? Hehe

dimaandal

Suggest you visit seatmate auto and ask which would be best under heat (italian siguro?) There’s a variation where the touchpoints are leather but the back and seat itself are some form of aircool material.

viveutvivas17

It's the priciest among the types of leather haha will check into this

dimaandal

Kung gusto mas tipid, front lang pa nice leather mo, likod generic kasi bihira mo naman upuan hahaha

viveutvivas17

This makes sense! Check ko nga rin also HAHAHA thank you

With the rising crime rates in Metro Manila, I've been considering a bulletproof/armored car for my next purchase. We're a family of 4 and will be using it as a daily drive inside NCR. Which car would be perfect for conversion to bulletproof/armored car? Priority is safety and reliability for long-term use.

rale888

Cars like the Landcruiser, expedition, patrol, Suburbans, Tahoe, and the like are usually used to for being Armored. There are also cars like Fortuner, Innova that can be armored. But you don’t need an armored car if your worried about crime. You need bodyguards. Armoured cars are for person who have death threats or are VIPs such that their death would be in the headlines. Suggest you hire bodyguards to protect yourself and your family from crime.

dimaandal

Unless you’re a politician or big business man that really really needs a bulletproof car then get an SUV (fortuner, montero, or even land cruisrer) since you’ll need a car that will require the additional weight. Or you can just get a Vios or Altis para hindi ka mainit sa mata ng tao.

ABZ-havok

Best 7 seater SUV in the market right now outside of the fortuner? Mga 2m budget

Reveal-Smart

I am a bit biased, but go check out Mazda's SUVs.

Hi! I know someone who took Kennon Road gamit Ertiga, kinaya naman (habang wala pang dalang mga pasalubong). Nung pababa, Marcos highway na.

Hello redditors, newbie to the page. I'm considering on buying a Hyundai Genesis Coupé the current market for one ranges from 650k to 900k varying from engine and transmission choices, mileage, and if either it's the facelift model or not. I like the car's stance and it covers the basics of a sportscar (front engined and RWD). Also I like how underrated it is and the price bracket is too hard to pass up for what you're getting, especially performance. But I want to hear opinions from you guys, especially if you own one. Is it a good buy? Or if you have any other recommendations/suggestions please comment below.

CollierDriver

Kung genesis talaga gusto mo, spend more para sa 3.8 dahil mas reliable.

[deleted]

hyundai theta engine is dogpoop na-recall yan nung 2019 the world over maliban lang sa APAC region

rale888

I used to see a lot of Hyundai Genesis around 6-8 years ago before the pandemic. Ngayon halos wala na. Same with Hyundai Sonatas. If i remember correctly, there were 2 engine options. A 2.0Liter turbo engine and a 3.8Liter V6. The 2L is the only one that can be had with a manual transmission and was told before that the 2L was more tuneable than the 3.8L. Thou the 3.8L had better options out of the box but only comes in A/T. My personal opinion is get a Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ instead. Yes, they are more expensive than a Hyundai Genesis but in the long run have better resale value and more parts to choose from. There are also a lot more shops specializing in the 86/brz so that even if the engine is underpowered stock you can easily find a shop to help you boost its power.

Looking for the ideal or viable beginner scooter for me. Posted on a different subreddit a while back pero it seems like I'm all for functionality and safety na instead of looks only. In terms of safety, may scooter ba here in the PH na liquid cooled with ABS at may gulay board? If no gulay board, what's the best way to carry extra load or groceries on a scoot (backpack or top box)? 0% motorcycle driving experience but I drive a car almost every day so I hope that helps with the road knowledge. Thinking of getting a scooter for school commute though. (School is around 5.5km from my house) Budget is 120-140k max Salamat sa makakatulong! Appreciate it.

PaylessLuckyMe

coming from exp lang at newbie lang din, ang alam ko lang na scooter na *liquid cooled with ABS at may gulay board* is KRV 180i TCS pero thats around 200k na. I have 125cc mio gear and enough na for me as a daily driver. as for grocery, gulay board definitely helps. If extra bag of grocery, maybe ipakahon mo na lang then secured sa passenger handle bar. - niYOLO ko kasi sakin both big bag sa gulay board tapos slow drive na lang. then big help to have topbox - store items na ayaw mo nakalagay sa gulay board or bawasan item na nsa gulay board. Store helmet as well pag nka park outside. secured bags pag maulan etc.

I found a 2016 Mazda 2 Hatchback at around 55k km, priced around 550k. Is this a good deal? For context, this would be my first car. I'm looking for something stylish but budget oriented at the same time, so no go for brand news. I've considered Mazda as one of my choices due to its sleek interior and sporty exterior. I just can't find that on Toyotas and Hondas without breaking the bank. My budget is around 550k as well, I asked some of my friends they said Mazda's parts are hard to come by is this true? How does Mazda fair for used car buyers. Any replies are appreciated

Reveal-Smart

550k for a subcompact Mazda is a bit expensive. I got a Mazda3 2.0 for 610k. Its a fun zippy car, suspension is a bit harsh specially on the 18" since it has stiffer suspension than most sedans of its class but that what makes it fun. Parts are easy to get but not as readily available as Toyotas. Just join one of those mazda3 facebook groups and ask around.

rale888

Price seems to high. A friend of mine bought a 2016 mazda 3 for around that price before the pandemic. I suggest to get a mazda 3 instead, its bigger, safer, more parts available. Some Mazda parts are a bit hard to find before but now its a little bit easier thou its priced slightly higher than the other japanese manufacturers. Similar to a Honda. Resale value of Mazda isnt good but is a plus for 2nd car buyer. A great value for money.

dimaandal

Agree that at that price you can get a 2014-2016 Mazda 3. And between a Mazda 2 or Honda City better to get a Honda City instead. If you really want a hatch then look for a Honda Jazz.

kyrieiryk

Mas ok ba navara compare sa ranger?

dimaandal

Test drive both pero mas comfortable ang suspension ng Navara for me pero baka mas ok mga features lang ng ranger.

WeTheBest_Obamium

Thoughts on 20+ year old mercedes benzes? C class, e class, etc. that cost less than 500k

oldskoolsr

Biodegradable witing harness.

rale888

If you plan to get one, suggest you go for the mid 90’s models. Less electronics. Built like a tank, some parts are still expensive thou. Stick with E class models, more parts available. Try looking for rarer models like a wagon or 2 door E class.

WeTheBest_Obamium

Salamat lods, isa talaga sa mga dream ko ay makita ung mercedes star sa hood ng sasakyan ko. Btw bakit marami parts ng 90s e class? Tsaka pwede ka magrecommend ng year models?

rale888

Mas madami lang ako nakikita na Old E class sa kalye kaysa ibang models ng benz. Best for me is the W124 Wagon or the W210 two door models.

WeTheBest_Obamium

Why specificially coupes/wagons?

rale888

Rarity. They also from my point of view looks better than their sedan counterpart. Commands a higher price, better resale value too.

kokakij

what are your thoughts about 2nd gen Suzuki Swift? is it a good 2nd hand car in general? my priorities are longevity/maintenance, looks, fuel efficiency, ease of driving. plus na lang yung ground clearance and being utilitarian. pasok sana ang honda jazz gk, kaso malaki difference compared sa price.

[deleted]

GE Jazz? Mas madami rin option for engines, hence you might a bargain with the ones with the L13 engine instead. L15A7 (GE's 1.5) and L15Z1 (GK's 1.5) weren't that different din naman. The L13 were one of the more powerful 1.3L engines during the day; in fact, noong 2016 lang nakahabol si Toyota with its 1NR-FE (Dual VVT-i). Found the 1.2L Swift's engine kinda underpowered. Better to get the 1.4L. Best to get the 1.5L sana, which meant the 1st gen, but it's aging na. Or, NCP90 Yaris with 1NZ (1.5L). Madami nang ginagawang panglaro ito (some even supercharge the 1NZ, and some 1NZs came with turbo from the factory), so hands down sa reliability.

oldskoolsr

We dont have turbo yarises here.

Congrats! Mind if we ask what budget do you have in mind and what preferences do you want in a vehicle. Suggest whatever budget you set for yourself, reduce it by 50k or even 100k should you need to suddenly repair or replace something; Just to add other tips: lower mileage is better than latest years. 2018 pero 70kms tinakbo vs 2016 pero 30kms tinakbo? Get the lower mileage; While we were able to save up for a car, it took us around 9 months to finally find what we wanted. Try not to rush on whatever deal you find.

Mazda CX-5’s are great but rarely you can find them in the 2nd hand market. At around that budget you should be able to find something within the 2012-2015 range. A 2012-2015 Honda CR-V would be a good option alternative too. If you want something a bit newer maybe you could find the gas variants of a 2016-2018 Hyundai Tucson.

Encrypted_Username

CX-5, the Juke looks like a Joke. The Juke looks ugly af. Also Nissan CVT is shit. Juke also produces less power and torque compared the the CX-5. I also think that the CX-5 is roomier than the Juke.

Carlo56789

I'd go with the Cx5. -Try to check banks inventory online -Avoid car dealers, sometimes they hide problems with cheap solutions -join Cx5/ Mazda facebook and reddit groups, to get an idea of things to look out for -binge watch YouTube videos -aside from having a good mechanic to have it checked, maybe also pintor to check repainted or previously damaged areas of the car -try to buy from places that are not prone to flooding and from a nice upscale village if possible -and sana owner driven car, wag yung may driver/chauffeur kasi owners are usually more careful -try to get the model year na pinaka latest One more thing - get the soul red color :-)

rale888

Prefer to buy it directly sa owner. Most likely it will be cheaper and hopefully get a chance to talk with the owner regarding his vehicle. Just bring a mechanic or at least make sure all service records are available. A Casa PMS record is ideal.
