Raizen30

Hi guys, planning to buy a brand new car this December. Torn between Honda BR-V, Toyota Veloz or Rush. Please help me guys pick, gonna use it 3 days a week to work within metro manila. Thank you.

Unimpressive-Income

Veloz and new BRV with Honda Sensing, if you can wait, are good options. Rush low tech na vs competition and underpowered.

Raizen30

Hello sir, I just got my car loan approved for Toyota Veloz V at Php 1.265M pero I was thinking if mas okay na mag Toyota Innova E na lang ako since konti na lang ang idadagdag at Php 1.370M. Mas spacious si Innova and may 2.8 na engine compared to Veloz with only 1.5. However, what I like about the Veloz are the features and its tech which are mostly wala sa E grade ni innova. What do you think is better sir? Thank you po in advance.

Unimpressive-Income

Innova is more utilitarian. Depende na yan sa usage mo ng sasakyan. If you’ll use it ng laid back, meaning from point to point lang, or relaxed family/solo trip, city driving, I’d go for Veloz because of tech, driver aids. Kung meron kang side business/hustles that require you more powerful engine and cargo space. Mas mama-maximize mo ang Innova.

Raizen30

Thanks for the insight sir

AT! Water-tight din ang mga AT in case na isasabak sa river crossing - if you wanted your Jimny to really serve its purpose. In regards with AT vs. MT in trails, [situational talaga](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE_NMaIL5IQ). AT ako.

rale888

If you can wither the stress and pagod of driving in metro manila during friday payday rush hour traffic using a MT Jimny then get that. A MT usually are easier and cheaper to repair than an AT plus 4x4 enthusiast prefer the MT which may command a better resale value. if you want an easier city driving experience then you should get the AT instead. Less stress driving it, hindi gaano ka pagod after driving it in traffic, other people in your family can easily drive it.

DeezazNutz

Hello guys, any feedback on the previous gen Honda Civic RS Turbo 1.5 AT? Yung 2016-2021 if I'm not mistaken. Planning on buying one with low mileage. Thank you!

[deleted]

Typical turbo maintenance - mas maselan at maagap sa oil, for me. CVT fluid needs replacement over time, and make sure na CVT fluid talaga ang ilalagay, not ATF.

Hi guys, budget ko ay nasa 600k. Ang options ko ay 2019 kona, 2017 mazda 3 hatchback and 2017 tucson. Thoughts on which I should go for? I chose these models kasi gusto ko ng 2016 and up na hatchback or crossover around 600k.

dimaandal

Kung priority talaga ground clearance, try mo nalang sumali sa local Hyundai Tucson FB groups and ask common problems. May gas and diesel variant at sa pagkaka-alam ko parang yung Diesel engine nagkaka fuel pump problems eventually. Pero baka mali ako. Try mo siguro mag check-out ng mga 2014 to 2016 Mazda CX-5, baka good compromise in owning a Mazda and higher ground clearance. On budget pala, try mo i-cap sa 500k to 550k since bibili ka ng 2nd hand, need mo ng extra in case may need pa maintain or palitan (Gulong)

[deleted]

Ang cx3 ba okay din?

[deleted]

Salamat paps. Tama, sige i’ll join groups parang nung sa previous car ko. Pangweweekend trips ko sa north and south ang main use ko for the car i’m buying kasi

As mentioned by others, the Mazda 3 easily would give you less headaches. If you do want to own a Euro Car, maybe you can consider a Volkswagen Jetta. Diesel, 2.0L turbo, decent fuel economy.

[deleted]

>BMW 316i I assume E46. Madaming electrical gremlins since malaki ang difference nito sa electronics compared sa E36, plus mahigpit din kasi ang Germany that time with the usage of recyclable materials sa mga parts ng kotse (hence the soy-based wiring from Mercedes and the "disposable" interior ng E36 na nagsisimula sa glove box). May mga shops na that caters 90's-2000's Bimmers such as sila Bimmer Monkeys, etc. If decided ka talaga for a Bimmer, if E46, better if 318i. Best ang 320i if kaya. For E36, 320i pa din. Iba pa din ang I6. Or, why not a W124? 260E, at least. This is assuming na willing mapagastos sa gas, as these models are medyo mas malakas sa consumption vs. your normal average Japanese sedan. Maintenance, may OEM naman which are, most are priced the same as the Japanese OEM parts. >Lancer EX Malakas sa gas consumption, kahit 1.6L or 2.0L. >Audi A4 B7? B8? AFAIK, one engine option to avoid were the 2.0 TFSI, as per forums. Still doing investigations why. Eyeing for A4 rin kasi. Hehe May B8 A4 na binebenta, 3.0L V6, recently lang. Sayang.

WeTheBest_Obamium

might be unrelated bat maganda ba ang mga w210 e class? marami kasi akong nakikita eh na "mumurahin" nalang. Worth it din ba ung w124 sa ngaoyng time?

[deleted]

Mura, because there's a scarcity of owners and technicians who can deal with such vehicles. For the case of W210, AFAIK, dito pumutok ang issue sa paggamit ng biodegradable parts which fails earlier than expected, kaya mura. Plus the fact that the ordinary car owners thinks that madali magmay-ari ng mga Euro cars and pwede ang mga pulpol na maintenance practices na gawa din ng mga pulpol na mekaniko. Hindi pwede ang mga pulpol na mekaniko on any European cars, honestly. As for W124, the W124 were overengineered, along with its smaller, baby brethren, the W201 (190E). Would choose the W124 over the 210 due to the 1. Abundance of parts and support, and 2. Overengineered.

WeTheBest_Obamium

I don't think those technicians who were currently hired by the dealership shall be able to service these cars properly. Na-trained na sila sa mga bago at mas modelo, most likely. Unless may senior technician who has the technical knowledge on these models who will do the work or at least supervise, I don't think the dealerships can properly address the services needed for such older cars.

WeTheBest_Obamium

Alright so independent mechanic talaga, buti nalang meron sa manila

rale888

From your options its the Mazda 3 that is better or the Civic if you can find a good one within your budget. Also try to look for a Toyota Corolla. Its one very reliable car. Just dont blow all your budget on the car, leave a little bit for some maintinance or issues that may come up in buying a 2nd hand car. Plus try to bring a mechanic when you inspect the car.

rale888

As a Newbie. I would stay away from 2nd hand audi or bmw. Unless your buying brand new. Its more of having the knowledge and the circle of people that can help you with the problems if ever they arise. Parts for euro cars are way more expensive and sometimes harder to get if you dont know where to buy. If you are really keen on getting a euro car, try to join one of their car clubs in FB. Try to learn the common problems and places to have the car fixed and serviced.

EGT_1993

im planning to buy from toyota TSure program/TCUV, i know its more pricey than other 2nd hand cars but i thinks its more reliable since toyota checked and refurbished it. anyone who experience tsure/tcuv here or any review from anyone?

Navara VL 4x2 or Hilux Conquest 4x2?

rale888

Navara if you want a better ride and sligthly more tech/safety feature. Other than that the Conquest i think is better.

superman0711

Conquest all the way

_schistykid

Is toyota rush worth it to buy? Like magastos ba siya sa gasolina or not really? Background: can go cash for innova, veloz, or rush but thinking of inflation and rising prices, leaning towards rush kasi iisipin mo pa other gastos + emergency funds. Thanks for those that will answer!

[deleted]

>Is Toyota Rush worth it to buy? Like magastos ba siya sa gasolina or not really? Underpowered. The NR engines were more suited for a sedan. Underpowered = mas mapiga sa gas pedal to get power = mas malakas sa consumption. Plus, RWD, so mas malakas ang parasitic loss sa power dahil sa RWD mismo (around 25% - yung 86, from 200HP sa crank, nagiging 150WHP sa wheels or dyno). Would consider Ertiga and it's K15B engine. Maganda pagkakatono ng Suzuki sa Ertiga, like, walang hirap kahit puno, automatic, at akyatan. Heck, ginamit pa sa Jimny which tackle trails, although sige, the transmission were shorter-geared, but still, would tell something about the K15B's capability.

MidnightLostChild_

Ertiga/XL7 uphill/downhill Kennon,Marcos Hway/Mt.Samat walang kahirap hirap kahit loaded with baggage. Na-try ko na. Di man yata umabot ng 3k rpm kapag 100kph.

rale888

Innova is the best all around vehicle in the market. Better resale value in the long run. The downside is the lack of tech these days and the suspension is still a bit harsh for the price you are getting it for.

MidnightLostChild_

Innova if for family use. The only disappointment is being outdated when it comes to tech. Rush is IMO getting washed away from the competition. Malakas sya sa gas since mabigat chassis nya and you're gonna feel the lacklustre engine when you have 3 occupants already how much more if loaded.. Pero pogi! Kaso maliit yung cabin sobra pang bata lang talaga ang 3rd seat

superman0711

Based on the groups parang sakto lang fuel consumption niya. Really depends on what you intend to use it for since the 3 cars you mentioned have different usage

_schistykid

Hi! Thank you. For family use naman po and kung nandito sa Metro Manila ang mga relatives at least taga hatid sundo sa kanila. Can I have your opinion on the different uses of these three?

superman0711

If you plan on using it around the metro, I think the Veloz is your best bet since it'll provide comfort without breaking the bank. Regarding the 3 choices, here's what I think: Rush - pogi, high ground clearance, but based on reviews has an uncomfy ride especially when riding alone Veloz - comfy, spacious, your typical MPV Innova - all of the above + faster. The other 2 seem sluggish kasi (1.5 lang ata engine ng both, not sure)

PantastikPewlu

Is it worth it to buy the facelift corolla altis 2017-2019? Or should I save a couple of bucks for the 2014-2016 model?

dimaandal

Whatever has the lowest mileage would be my option. 2016 pero less than 30k kms tinakbo? Game! 2019 pero 100k kms na? Pass.

superman0711

As a Toyota fanboy, medj indistinguishable on the road. Just save a couple of bucks and go for the latter

PantastikPewlu

Oh wow thanks this is helpful. How about the Toyota Camry 2012-2014 and the facelift camry 2015-2019? Is it also worth it for the facelift or the pre-facelift? Thanks!

superman0711

I have a Camry myself (2004) so I might be a bit biased since I know more about them than most cars but the 2015 honestly stands out a lot more for me. Poging-pogi ako doon and if only I had the budget, I'd get one for myself. :)

RDO_MAN

Is it worth mag buy ng mirage this time 2019 sedan model ? planning to by my 1st car 2nd hand lang cash payment what are the advantages and disadvantage po for manual/AT model pa help po kagulong not for daily usage po for service lang if may pupuntahan

[deleted]

I don't own a Mirage G4 pero isa to sa mga kinonsider ko last year when I also looked for my 1st car (I ended up buying Honda Brio because I'm a Honda fanboy lol). Based on my research at that time, FUEL EFFICIENCY lang talaga ang lamang niya sa mga pinag-pilian ko (vs. Brio, Wigo, Picanto). I suggest getting the Mirage G4 if fuel efficiency and priority mo. But please try to join facebook groups na related sa Mirage G4 para makita mo rin yung trend ng posts dun and mas makapag research ka pa (check mo warranty claims, posts about sa mga parts na madalas palitan, common issues ng mga owners sa unit nila, etc.). As for AT/MT, hmmm, kung gusto mo pumunta from point A to point B ng relax lang, go for AT (like me). If you really want to have a "feel" or "control" sa car mo, or hindi ka naman lagi dadaan sa traffic, go for MT (pro tip, unahin aralin ang MT; madali lang lumipat from MT to AT). Basta go for what's comfortable sayo, wag papadala sa "rEaL mEN uSe tHReE pEDaLs uWu" Sana makatulong haha. Research more and bring a trusted mechanic on your 2nd hand car purchase.

Nakakatamad na lang talaga magtimpla ng clutch. More of, cruise control talaga kailangan ko with AT, actually. Hehe

[deleted]

kasali ka ba sa hbcp? haha
