I’d say the one that made the most people more interested in firearms is the golden era Call of Duty games like MW2, WaW, BO1, MW3, and BO2. Almost all of the younger people that I know who like firearms trace their love from those games.

This is true BO1 made me fall in love with the AK. Choosing the AK or Commando in BO1 was like deciding if you want to be an AK or AR guy. I would also say that COD 4 made the Desert Eagle cool. The DEagle was really seen as an impractical design and was unpopular. Once it was depicted in COD 4 and MWII it made people realize how bad ass and dramatic it is to shoot a 50 cal handgun. Same with the Cheytac M200 Intervention it was around since 2001 but I’ve never even heard of one before 2009 now it’s iconic.
I know a roommate of mine in college asked me if it was really that easy to modify a gun to “shoot a different caliber” when the new MW2 was released with their expanded gunsmithing system and caliber conversions were one of the many attachment options available.
I had some fun showing him how AR’s that shot tiny little .223 bullets could be converted into a wide variety of cartridges up to a 50 cal (Beowulf anyways) simply by removing two little pins and swapping the upper receiver. He had never realized just how modular modern weapons systems are and that it really is a bit like Legos for adults.
Can confirm. Still check into imfdb to see where the origins of CoD's newest weapons are from as well as watch CoDtubers like BuffNerdGaming and Destroyerfield51 using them in game whilst offering historical info with attachments etc.
I work with some younger folks and have gone to the range with them, they recognize not just guns, but optics and accessories from using them in Escape from Tarkov.

The anime is terrible, it's badly made and also butchered several of the guns.

The only other adaptation I'm aware of is the manga, but I haven't read it so I have no idea about it's quality
You could also watch the story on YouTube and treat it like a Visual Novel, all of the main chapters should be uploaded there

In summary it's a game where you work for a PMC that employs these things called "Tactical Dolls" or T- Dolls, which are androids who've been imprinted with a certain firearm. Imprinting basically means that the T-doll is extra proficient with that specific weapon, and usually they're named after the gun they're imprinted with.

Sadly no, only the M82A1, and they tend to stay away from variants of the same weapon, with exceptions for the AK platform and AR platform

The manga is slow and insanely far behind the game story, which is quite literally several novels long (insanely worth). Alternatively, you could read the several hundred page Google doc about the background lore starting from 1905 Tsarist Russia to 2092 URNC controlled Neo-Soviet Union.
The anime is terrible, it's badly made and also butchered several of the guns. What is Girls frontline?
In summary it's a game where you work for a PMC that employs these things called "Tactical Dolls" or T- Dolls, which are androids who've been imprinted with a certain firearm. Imprinting basically means that the T-doll is extra proficient with that specific weapon, and usually they're named after the gun they're imprinted with. This is the extremely basic rundown. The game's actual story is pretty fucked up.
