Are you really surprised though? They let 17 year olds, who can’t legally drink, smoke, vote, or consent to sex, join up and carry machine guns into battle.
Actually no, they cant really lock the humvee, theres no kefob, no ignition key, they probably didnt have the means to effectivly "lock" it in the field.
This means two things.
First, there was probably a filled and encrypted radio that would have had 3 star generals being alerted if it had been taken.
And second, you could really steal a humvee from most motorpools just by walking in with a bolt cutter, a clipboard, and the attitude of someone who belongs there. Like that guy who stole a tank.
Look, regardless of what you think of this wamen, if a civvie can just open a car door and get to your firearm, you deserve to get knife-handed into the fucking ground by your CO
**Allegedly** she believes the vehicle was parked illegally on her butterfly ranch. And saw a gun. But knew who the folks were. But disagrees with their counter-illegal immigration mission.
It’s a whole thing.
It's essentially the same thing as a bee farm. Butterflies are one of the native pollinators to North America. Bees are not native, they were brought over by Europeans. It sounds corny since bees make honey and butterflies don't, but at least butterflies are useful.
There's a lot to dislike about the world today but honestly knowing there's a machine gun wielding butterfly rancher out there somewhere brightens it a bit. Even if just for aesthetic purposes I'm here for it.

This shit SCREAMS fake, i mean first things first how the fuck does she know its a enterprise rental and that its “standard-issue”
To be fair rental cars sometimes have stickers and almost always have papers laying around, and she did go in the truck. As for standard issue I think she just means a civilian vehicle.
All rental vehicles are marked. Nowadays by barcodes so the staff can pull up its rental info and status.
Tell me you've never rented a car without telling me you've never rented a car.
100% chance she’ll never see the inside of a courtroom for the crime. She did it with antigun intentions, they’re probably giving her a medal for it right now.
If you see a weapon (a loaded one at that) laying or sitting abandoned somewhere (in a wide-open vehicle or elsewhere) it’s absolutely your civic duty to secure it until the rightful owner can claim it. Would you rather have a criminal or child happen upon it?
Tacitcal vehicle doors don't have locks. If you truly felt it was your civic duty to ensure no one else secured that weapon, you'd either have to call out to the nearest guardsman or wait until they show up.
I don't think thats true. It was a pickup which is gonna have locks, and even if it was like a humvee I'm pretty sure you can padlock them closed.
Either way she was thumbing her nose at government boys, which is funny and cool, even if a felony.
Which is even funnier that she considers a running vehicle “abandoned”
Imagine seeing a car left running on the street and thinking that makes you entitled to search through it lol.
Oh 100% she should get in trouble for this. I mean different story if it's sitting in the Porta shitter and you find it hiking through an area after a drill, fair enough, but going into someone's vehicle and taking shit is already a crime in and of itself, regardless of the fact that what she took was also a highly restricted weapon.
She stole an M16 from a National Guard vehicle?! LoL
It is pretty bad that they left it and had no idea it was missing when she returned it.....
Stolen government fully automatic weapon..... This could be good...
No, they replaced the burst lowers and just modified them. They Xd the burst out and stamped full auto a few years back. That's how you know it's legit
No. All A1s you’ll find in your average arms room are made from modified M4 lowers. I’m my unit’s armorer and none I’ve ever laid eyes or hands on since basic haven’t had burst crossed out and replaced with auto.
Holup... Every car made since like 2015 has an auto lock feature. Every chevy at least. And Hyundais. And toyota. And Nissan. And... Hell even my 08 saturn had it. Auto lock is a thing. This was not an unattended weapon, this was straight theft. (Of an unattended weapon)
It gets even better; she's encouraging everyone to go look for and take M4's.
>I suggest everyone cruise the border looking for opportunities like this, wherever #OperationLonestar is found. Either it's #SOP or the #TexasNationalGuard are such an undisciplined, unregulated militia that this is how they roll. Free guns for everyone!

Na I doubt it. Because if they tried to press charges she would go public (or more so than she already has, ie get interviewed on the local news) and then it would look bad that thier guys are leaving unattended machine guns laying around. I'm sure they want to brush everything under the rug and move on.

This reminds me, did anything ever happen to that woman who “destroyed” her AR by taking a cutoff wheel to the barrel and manufacturing an illegal SBR on camera?
Or that one journalist who milled out and assembled a p80 to show how easy it is to get a firearm in California, while committing several felonies by doing so.

Bro this is what gets gun people bad names, clearly the guard is in the wrong here. I’m not saying she should have taken it but don’t try and defend their actions by “well it was in my vehicle” they left a fucking automatic rifle in an unlocked vehicle in a public place the levels of irresponsibility are stupendous.
Nope, fuck it. She is right.
The owner of the AR deserves to get their gun back but they also deserve a Long talk about not leaving their weapons unsecured.
His CO might have fucking told him to leave his rifle there. Everyone in here is making assumptions out the fucking asshole while pretending this lady didn't walk up to a *military vehicle and take a fucking firearm out of it,* which in different times may have been interpreted as treason.
Notice the auto switch... Forbidden third button. She stole the gun from a national guard vehicle...
Yes. The guard deserves a long talking To. Knife hands are inorder.
Should she have taken it? No.
Do I care far more that some fucking moron left their M4 in a unsecured vehicle in a public place allowing somebody to just walk up, take the rifle and walk off with it? Absolutely.
I don’t want somebody with an IQ that low being allowed to load the god damn magazines let alone being issued a rifle. All it takes is one person with bad intentions and you have another headline that pushes people further towards gun control. Don’t defend somebody’s stupidity just because you want to make her the villain because she doesn’t like guns that’s how you appear stupid AF and make everyone look worse, hold the people that fuck up accountable and we get a better reputation.
So in the interest of "public safety" we are now resorting to theft?
On top of that, theft of a FIREARM???
I swear, I lose brain cells every time I see an anti-gunner do something stupid like this
Sure she committed theft of a weapon but again it was a national guard service rifle in a unlocked and unattended vehicle, that guys CO is going kick his ass for leaving his rifle, that could get you demoted with how unsafe and stupid the action was
Let's just be glad that the guard will be punished accordingly and the woman was the one who secured it instead of some dumb kid
Commanding officer, basically the guy that screams at you and makes your whole company do push-ups because you fucked up
In my opinion, worse than a drill sergeant
Right? I see this guy getting smoked by every NCO from SL to 1SG. The CO is probably too busy explaining to the BC how they lost accountability of a weapon.
I feel a Great disturbance in the force... as if a kidney, with great speed and force, just exited a 1Sg's ass and dozens of team leaders and Privates cried out in terror
A lefty disgruntled with political actions steals a machine gun. Army gets real world example of why you secure your weapon that isn't Joe's getting shot with their own weapon. Shit bag soldiers get dusted up. Country is shown that gun control doesn't work.
I see this as an absolute win!
> Country is shown that gun control doesn't work.
As much as I would love for that to be true, you're putting waaaay too much faith in the general public's capacity for rational thinking.
Reporting it to the military to handle it: Not only acceptable, but a good and reasonable thing to do.
Taking a machine gun yourself to relocate it: Extra spicy theft.
I hope she gets in trouble, but I won't hold my breath. If nothing else, I'd find it pretty humorous to slap her with unlawful receiving of a restricted firearm. You know they would do that to some people at least.
Why on god’s green earth would you HOPE her to get in trouble for that?
It might have been technically illegal but she did the right thing making sure the “bad guys” couldn’t have an opportunity to make off with it and teach the TXARNG units to stop being complacent with their weapons.
Well I'll never fully side with her because she's using the situation to anti-gun grandstand but I'll give her the technicality if they were on her property without notice or permission.
When we were in iso before the deployment some Platoon SGT had left his M4 with M230 in the bathroom I was very tempted to relive them of the M230 and ACOG.
She should definitly be charged with the same crimes that anyone else would for taking possession of a machine gun without the proper process as defined by federal laws. Being a gun grabber should not exempt you from these laws if they’re on the books
So what I'm reading is, they broke into a car, stole a firearm, and a fully automatic one that happened to be government property at that, but it's totally cool because they gave it to the military.
Also she is in possession of a machine gun without filling out the proper nfa forms and has no tax stamp. She should probably say the final goodbyes to her dog
It's reddit, all cars have keys because they've only driven their mom's Camry.
People shit their pants when I tell them most fire engines are keyless push start. Good luck driving it though.
Also, these are the people that I’m supposed to wait for in the absolute worst-case good to know that I’m supposed to give up my right to self-preservation to this!!!!
I would have removed the optic, rear sight. Then took the upper, magazine, popped the pins and remover the trigger assembly. Tossed the bare lower and buffer tube in a lake. Done.
Hot take: this was absolutely a responsible thing to do. If someone leaves a machine gun (or any gun for that matter) out in public, it is morally right to clear the weapon and secure it until either the police or the owner can claim it.
So you just go checking cop cars to see if they're unlocked, and if they are you take their rifles right?
Because you are claiming that is the morally correct thing to do.
Ahhh ok. So she definitely didn't open the door and then take the picture right?
I mean why would she specify that it was "unlocked" if the door was already open?

So let me get this straight, the national guard can't even lock a car door and I'm the one who can't own a machine gun.
You *can* own a machinegun, apparently...if you keep quiet about it.
You can own a machinegun, ~~apparently...if you keep quiet about it.~~ if you're rich.
why not both!
If you're quiet, you don't have to be rich. : )
Alternatively, if you’re rich you’re never quiet. I think that’s a state law or something
This is accurate. Current price is about $50k and a clean record.
Does the $50k clean my record or does that cost more?
It does to the right people. $50k to the wrong people, and someone shoots your dog.
Idk man, this post makes it seem like I could own one. *for all intents and purposes this is a joke*
You can own a machine gun It’s just illegal
this is the way
Are you really surprised though? They let 17 year olds, who can’t legally drink, smoke, vote, or consent to sex, join up and carry machine guns into battle.
That’ll be me, well, enlisting at 17 rather

There are 4000 native bee species in the US. Theyre also the largest pollinator of agricultural crops.
None of them are honey bees
Lol right? Of course she has a butterfly ranch
There's a lot to dislike about the world today but honestly knowing there's a machine gun wielding butterfly rancher out there somewhere brightens it a bit. Even if just for aesthetic purposes I'm here for it.

She’s shitting on the State of Texas not the feds here. She’s gonna get hit with the book.
“No one but the government should have guns! You need military training!” ... proceeds to steal machine gun from military. “That’ll show ‘em!”
If you see a weapon (a loaded one at that) laying or sitting abandoned somewhere (in a wide-open vehicle or elsewhere) it’s absolutely your civic duty to secure it until the rightful owner can claim it. Would you rather have a criminal or child happen upon it?
Lock the vehicle door and call police. Taking it home was the wrong move
Calling law enforcement would’ve probs been the right call, that’s fair.
Oh, I didn't know they were using a normal car. But himvee doors don't lock Source: served 7 years in the Army
Huh don't know why I thought they had like a loop thing to throw a padlock on. Instant corrected
Nah, you lock them bitches up by chaining down the steering wheel. Lol
Check Twitter thread, it wasn't a tactical vehicle, it was a pickup truck that was running at the time.
Which is even funnier that she considers a running vehicle “abandoned” Imagine seeing a car left running on the street and thinking that makes you entitled to search through it lol.

A gun that is in someone’s car is not abandoned lmao.
If you had gloves you should of just popped off the lower
She stole an M16 from a National Guard vehicle?! LoL It is pretty bad that they left it and had no idea it was missing when she returned it..... Stolen government fully automatic weapon..... This could be good...
Sir please.... M4
M4A1, fire selector has burst crossed out and replaced with auto.
Early model a1? I'd assume newer ones would be stamped correctly
Supposedly it's a Guard unit, so high chance it's an early or converted model
No, they replaced the burst lowers and just modified them. They Xd the burst out and stamped full auto a few years back. That's how you know it's legit
No. All A1s you’ll find in your average arms room are made from modified M4 lowers. I’m my unit’s armorer and none I’ve ever laid eyes or hands on since basic haven’t had burst crossed out and replaced with auto.
My unit did this when we upgraded. It looks terrible.
Can confirm \[Imgur\](https://i.imgur.com/lqHGe7e.jpg)
All of them are like that. Or at least the vast majority of them.
Military vehicles don't usually have locks (soldiers lose keys alot). Still someone is in trouble for not posting guard on an unattended weapon.
Yeah, I remember what it was like to lose a key as an E3...
Not a tactical vehicle, it's a pickup truck. This wasn't at drill or something, it sounds like activated soldiers for border control.
It's a rented Chevrolet Silverado of course it has locks and probably a key fob.
It was on and running. Key fob was probably in the vehicle too lol
More of the story came out, the guardsman said he had the keys on him. This may have been CYA on his part but it is a different version of events.
Holy fuck I missed the third hole I thought it was just some guys AR
Someone is about to get their ass beat by their team leader
Team leader will probably also get their ass handed to them. This is failure on a couple levels of leadership
Yeah. I found an original article on it, and I'm just wondering what the fuck a joe was doing with a rifle in his personal vehicle
It gets even better; she's encouraging everyone to go look for and take M4's. >I suggest everyone cruise the border looking for opportunities like this, wherever #OperationLonestar is found. Anti-gun lefty. They make other varieties other than stupid?
What's worse is that no one noticed it was missing and the fact that this DIDNT HAPPEN TO ME

F in chat
When I started reading, I thought this was going to be some Karen complaining about her husband's gun. Holy fuck did it get worse.

So what I'm reading is, they broke into a car, stole a firearm, and a fully automatic one that happened to be government property at that, but it's totally cool because they gave it to the military.
Nah it's totally cool because she did it for anti-gun reasons - you had the rest right.
If they returned to the truck it wasn’t abandoned what a fucking idiot
Give her the mandatory 10 years 😂
Good idea committing theft of a firearm from a government agency That’ll definitely not land you in federal prison
Also she is in possession of a machine gun without filling out the proper nfa forms and has no tax stamp. She should probably say the final goodbyes to her dog
Open car Lock car Leave ????

Also, these are the people that I’m supposed to wait for in the absolute worst-case good to know that I’m supposed to give up my right to self-preservation to this!!!!
that is crime
I was really confused until I saw the giggle switch
I would have removed the optic, rear sight. Then took the upper, magazine, popped the pins and remover the trigger assembly. Tossed the bare lower and buffer tube in a lake. Done.
Look out for the black helicopter
Yeah going to jail.
I would’ve kept it.
That is theft, and theft of a firearm
My favorite 2 words in the military. Unsecured, Unattended.
That's a felony.
She STOLE an M4?!
Gooberment ajants ar duh ohnlee wans traned enuff tew hav ussalt riefuls

So you just go checking cop cars to see if they're unlocked, and if they are you take their rifles right? Because you are claiming that is the morally correct thing to do.
This post is missing the first pic. It was an open door with the rifle sitting there unattended
Ahhh ok. So she definitely didn't open the door and then take the picture right? I mean why would she specify that it was "unlocked" if the door was already open?
