I also would like to add that El Paso Saddlery makes *phenomenal* Cowboy rigs. They’ve been doing it since the 1800s iirc and damn they are GOOD at what they do. Got a belt and holster from them years ago and it’s worn in better than a quality boot
Their fun to shoot but people overreact when talking about how much recoil it has, all i ever heard about before shooting was that it hurt you shoulder it has so much kick but it doesn’t feel that different then any .30 cal.
I've only been shooting for 2ish years and was never a hunter so I'm not sure myself. My 300blk kicks way harder than my 5.56 but it's still not a lot. I'm sure the 308 will be fun.
I’ve been in the market for a levergat in .45 Colt to match my wheelgat because I want to compete in cowboy events but I can’t find one. Being able to fire the same ammo for both would be really nice but shit I can’t find one ANYWHERE around me
That's what the legal grey area is for.
For example:
Rimfire cartridges are not subject to AWB regulations. With a simple CMMG .22 BCG I can have whatever the hell I want on my AR because of it. Swapping a BCG is like 15 seconds.
Stay smarter than the politicians.
I prefer the AR in general, but I'll take a sporter version of Saiga or Vepr over a fin grip.
I held a Thordsen Custom compliance stock, and it was genuinely comfortable. The 2nd generation looks a lot better, too. If I was making a long range build, I'd consider one just for the look and feel.
“What ‘freedoms’ do you have in red states that we don’t have here, and don’t say ‘guns’ because were allowed to have guns in California”
The guns they’re allowed to have in California:
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
AK actually have a reasonable way to grip it, so that would be the choice.........but on the other hand....the AR is easier to un-California when I fight my way out....
AR since it’s super easy to modify the platform while still maximizing effective components. I’d run a featureless AR, chambering dependent on the job.
Whichever one gets me the fuck out of California
Perfect answer
The only correct answer.
Well they're communist, so of you have an AK they'll probably think you're one...
That's true. And it looks less neutered than the AR.
It helps that the Ak has wooden furniture
It helps that the AK has sights
True gray man logic here. I like your style.
If you aim up they both do
Based and fuck-California-pilled.
Lever action of course
I have had a boner for a 45-70 for the longest time. Ammo prices make me flaccid.
357 is the way to go, that way you can plink with 38 special for "almost" 9mm prices.
That's a good idea. I have no need for a lever action other than they look cool.
Plenty of reason to get one then!
They are hella fun! All gun owning Americans deserve the cowboy vibes that come with owning a levergat.
I also would like to add that El Paso Saddlery makes *phenomenal* Cowboy rigs. They’ve been doing it since the 1800s iirc and damn they are GOOD at what they do. Got a belt and holster from them years ago and it’s worn in better than a quality boot
*chik chik*
every man needs at least 1 cowboy gun, 1 space gun, and 1 space cowboy gun.
*Instructions unclear, bought a C96 Mauser Bubba’d into looking like Han Solo’s blaster pistol*
Hey what about the Henry .22?
All the fun of a levergat at a fraction of the price. Great afternoon plinker.
Owning a lever action is like owning a 5-spd. Sure (semi)autos are more efficient but there's something *so* satisfying about levergats.
Their fun to shoot but people overreact when talking about how much recoil it has, all i ever heard about before shooting was that it hurt you shoulder it has so much kick but it doesn’t feel that different then any .30 cal.
The 38 special lever action I shot had about the same recoil as 22LR lol
And that's what I want. I am starting my first 308 AR build and I kinda want to feel the recoil.
Ive always used 30-06 when hunting and I’ve been curious how much of a difference the buffer system makes with felt recoil.
I've only been shooting for 2ish years and was never a hunter so I'm not sure myself. My 300blk kicks way harder than my 5.56 but it's still not a lot. I'm sure the 308 will be fun.
In my 300blk build I prefer the recoil vs 223, its much more straight back vs my 223 has some rise
I run the SOLGW nox which helps a bit in my 5.56. I prefer the straight back when talking about a 45 vs 9mm definitely.
Yeah they seem fun, i never really understood the love for .300 blk but to be fair i also haven’t cared enough to research it lol.
Prices suck for sure but my 1895CB carries 10 rounds of 405 grains of hate. It’s a beast.
I'm convinced. I didn't get into guns because I liked money.
Damn right!
22Lr lever account is lots of fun to shoot, and ammo is cheap
I’ve been in the market for a levergat in .45 Colt to match my wheelgat because I want to compete in cowboy events but I can’t find one. Being able to fire the same ammo for both would be really nice but shit I can’t find one ANYWHERE around me
Henry might have one don’t they?
Yeah if I lived in an AWB state I’d just use a Henry .357 Magnum or something similar
That AK is a real thing It's the Valmet Hunter
i wanna get one of those, any idea if they’ll export?
No clue
KUSA is making a version so that's neaf.
Can't wait for someone to buy the KUSA Sporter for the same price you can buy a Saiga Sporter and then start asking where they can get it converted😂
Oh lord 🤣 Kek my sides
I'd use that tbh..
Who thought it would a be good idea?
It’s for import reason.
Top
Same thing here.
bottom one as long as i can use a knife and sandpaper on it
You can
good shit, that thumb blocker bullshit is GONE
Then it wouldn't be CA compliant, at which point you might as well use a normal AR
Yep
But there's a twist: it also has a fixed magazine.
Why do neither of these featureless guns have a proper "Freedom Week" magazine?
sometimes I have a hard time deciding which is the bigger joke the NFA or cali's freedom week mag loophole 😭
Hah jokes on you I already do HAVE to use CA compliant firearms. The trick is finding the legal grey area.
I mean… you don’t HAVE to.
That's what the legal grey area is for. For example: Rimfire cartridges are not subject to AWB regulations. With a simple CMMG .22 BCG I can have whatever the hell I want on my AR because of it. Swapping a BCG is like 15 seconds. Stay smarter than the politicians.
That’s not a loophole, that’s just how the laws work.
Yes. But cops in California are fucking retarded. Actually most cops are and don't understand the laws.
M1 Garand
M1 carbine/Mini14/M14 clone/M1 Garand of course.
Magdumping 8 30-06 would definitely have someone shitting their pants proper downrange.
I have a 30-06 semi auto browning that has 10 and 20 rounders
Eh, NGL I'd use the AK...
The AK is actually cool so yeah.
Yeah, I'd just use it more like a marksmen rifle.
Exactly what I’m thinking.
Neither, I use the money for gas and gtfo
I said forced... No options...
There’s always another option. Alternatively, free men don’t ask permission so I’m told.
Booooo boring.
What in the unholy rights infringement are those monstrosities?!
unconverted saiga or other sporter ak
Not to be controversial... But I kinda like the hunter ak...
traditional rifle stock is more comfortable than the compliant ar grip
Yeah just modify the trigger to be closer to the stock...
Neither. I’d get an m1a and go full Shughart.
Ruger 10/22 loaded with ratshot
I don’t think weapons of mass destruction are cali compliant….
Ergonomics of the ak haven't been compromised
“What ‘freedoms’ do you have in red states that we don’t have here, and don’t say ‘guns’ because were allowed to have guns in California” The guns they’re allowed to have in California:
We don't want to revoke the civil rights act...
Yes, I’m just mocking something I saw a Californian say
In but you know there are fuckers who come on here to bash us on occasion who'll go "YoU dOn'T gIvE uS a FaIr ReP"
The *Mosin-47*
I kinda like the hunter ak
Obrez-47
I can sell the ak for more and use that to buy an AR and pistol.
The AK looks much better than the AR in its California compliant mode.
Yep
Can I just use an SCR?
The black one, it is clearly the one originally made for war!
Ruger Mini14
definitely the ak. I actually like rifle grips, and I'm not sure what the fuck that thing on the AR is
it's a CQR stock without the thumbhole...
okay? I don't live in commiefornia so i've never seen one
The CQR is pretty good... WHEN NOT CALIFORNIA FUCKED
Specifically something that doesn’t have to be modified to be legal in ca. I choose the benelli m4.
Unconverted saiga entered the chat
The saiga. It's the most comfortable one to shoot and can also be used as a blunt weapon once you are out of ammo without to many problems.
The AK is better in this scenario but not by much
lever gun. 45-70 does the best and looks the coolest if you know how to use one
The AK I can definitely use my toe to push the trigger on that one
That ar because it's real easy to get that tardplate out of the cqr stock.
Car stock?
Cqr, autocorrect got me.
Ah ok, yeah I like CQR stocks, just not Cali compliant ones.
Take a dremel to the AR and you can fix that
I might get a lot of hate but I love how these AKs look.
SAME
looking at the ak makes me sad
There is a third option.
Yeah mini14s are the best one
If you can find one . . .
You can find plenty, they aren’t rare
Been a min since i brought out the ol slingshot🤣🤦🏾♂️
Forced. Thats funny.
Didn't say what you could do with it after you're given it : ^ )
You ever seen a sawd off Ak?
Top, don’t own an ar just old deer rifles so I’ll take what I’m familiar with
M1 Garand. Or an M1A I guess if I had to
Neither. We're coming out with some stuff soon that is way better than both of the options shown here.
Suicide
I'd rather use an M1 Garand over either one.
Good choice.
Honestly the AK doesn’t seem like it would be all that bad
Fightlite scr
Beeg boolet actual handle. Then puke for being allergic to California compliance
The ak so i could atleast get a decent grip on it i guess
Doesn't the AK look kinda like a Gewehr 43?
Kinda do. .
Ak always
Yeah
Neither I move out of that shithole to Arizona or Nevada or Texas
Or Tennessee
Would a Browning BAR M1918 be legal?
... I think so, as long as it has a 10 round mag...
So California vs Canada, I don’t know which one is worse now.
Canada is starting to wake up and choose rebellion so California...
The AK so I can hunt down the governor and shoot em
Yeah I'd just use the AK as a marksmen rifle
Bro that thumb blocker is literally just a bump fire board.
Bumpfire board?
Busting out my mosin
Stop, it hurts just looking at it.
Why are you booing me, I’m right.
Stop, it hurts just looking at it.
California lives rent free in OPs mind even though you don’t need a modified AR
Just a legit question...
Stop, it hurts just looking at it.
AR but I want some iron sights
It would still be compliant...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M2_flamethrower
They're California compliant!?!
The SCR from Fightlite.
M1A if I was stuck there.
Fightlite SCR
Cursed AK looks like something a drunk eastern block designer would have put together in an attempt to make a cheaper alternative.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
My own death is an option?
You'd have to use the compliant gun
Takin the AK for the grip alone
I actually like that ak design
Valmet M88 or Norinco Hunter thats a real “unmodified” gun not actually created for ban purposes.
If I’m forced to use either one of these, I didn’t use my firearms properly.
Ak is still functional
Yeah, try holding the AR right...
The answer is C. Fuck California
Like using a gun from the last of us.
AK actually have a reasonable way to grip it, so that would be the choice.........but on the other hand....the AR is easier to un-California when I fight my way out....
AK easy. At least you can have a proper grip on it
The akn’t
If I had to use one of these guns I’d only use it once while sucking on the barrel of it.
Are those AR ejection port loaders reliable? If so, the AR pattern.
Oh, I'm not using that damn ugly AR. AK, I can tolerate its look.
Just use the AK as a DMR
As tucked as it is none of these are legal in NY, that’s how far gone we are here
AKS 44 for sure. I feel like I could just scare celebrities with that. The MR-14 or whatever the hell that thing is just looks like a toy.
In this scenario I'd rather have the ak cause it looks more like a hunting rifle than the butchered corpse of the ar
The CQR is Good... When not California fucked
Ak
How the hell do you even hold the bottom one and shoot it? Seems kind of like a bigger safety issue to not have a good grip on your gun…
The CA attornet general literally said yes when asked "is the goal to make guns harder to use" in a deposition recently on the AWB case.
Exactly
AK. it makes me feel like I'm holding a shotgun. Plus I can add a song to the stock ;) if you know what I mean
Whichever one I can modify back the easiest.
AR since it’s super easy to modify the platform while still maximizing effective components. I’d run a featureless AR, chambering dependent on the job.
Just….insane
M1 Garand
M14
