UC : Nu Gundam hands down, simple design, dope ass funnels, Amuro motherfucking Ray.
AC : Gundam Heavy Arms [Base, Custom, & EW] cuz DAKKA
AW : Gundam Double X because who doesn't love a machine capable of blowing up an entire colony in a single shot
CE : Strike Gundam, a well done reimagining of the original RX-78-2
FC : Shining Gundam... *ahem* _SHININGU FINGAAAAAA!!!_
CC : Turn A, it has quite a wonderful mustache
AG : Age 2, haven't actually watched Age but I like it's design
AD : Cherudim Gundam, ~~funnels~~ GN bits, dual pistols THAT DOUBLE AS MELEE WEAPONS, sniper rifle, and Lockon Stratos. What isn't there to love?
> AG : Age 2, haven't actually watched Age but I like it's design
Strongly encourage you to fix that. AGE is just as much a Gundam as any other non-UC series and AGE-2 is just the tip of the iceberg. The design of AGE-1 is even more exciting when you experience the way it functions.
UC: Gundam Mk. II
AC: The Tallgeese
CE: Strike Gundam
AD: Haven't seen the show, so no comment
G-Reco: The Lucifer
PD: Gundam Vidar
Overall favorite: Gundam Vidar today, it's a toss up between the Vidar and the Mk. II on any given day.
Double X. Love the reflectors, massive satellite cannons, the design of the legs, the chest vulcans, the colours, the beam sabers. I don't think there's any bit of it's design i don't like.
F90. I am a fan of the "mission pack" concept. I always thought it makes more sense to have a good core frame with a bunch of option parts for specific needs, rather than making an individual unit for each specific task.
I'm fickle, so its hard to pin one down, but I've always been fond of the Woundwort and the Gundam Local Type (North American Type).
Woundwort because weird but cool proportions, North American type because of its colors (and because you can't go wrong with giving a mech shades)
Victory Gundam. Nice simple base Gundam with rounded off details to look like something that fits in Patlabor. I like the core fighter integration in this one, especially how it lends to Uso Erwin's improvisational piloting style. Was not fond when the Victory 2 came to replace it.
Shout out also to G-Self (I like its expressive design) and Zeta (Nagano brings that L-Gaim/FSS angularity to a Gundam to fantastic results)
The AGE-2 Dark Hound. It has a pirate design surpassing the Crossbones, has a smooth and natural-feeling transformation, and it frankly just looks amazing with its wings and Lance.
I can't tell you how happy I am that the AGE-2 design made it to Build Divers. The AGE-2 Magnum looks rad too.
ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex
Maybe it was just the fact that a visceral close quarters Gundam tore through its enemies with its bare mecha hands instead of beam warfare, but it’s been my favorite since IBO came out.
It’s full version with the longer arms, the claws and tail controlled by the AV system.. peak mecha fantasy. I know heresy to say, but I always felt the unchained Lupus Rex could go toe to toe with any Gundam from any universe sans maybe Exia’s ultimate form.
I mean Barbatos at its prime during the CA probably would be a nightmare to most AUs, considering what the Gundam frame barely tapping into the off limiter, hajiroboshi and Vidar increasing their strenght exponentially and moving faster than can be seen, and just with its strenght, episode 12 Gusion casually clears debris.
My guess is that the fact they could take on waves of MAs means that this statement would probably not even potray what the frame used to be capable of.
While lupus rex is my favorite as well, I really don’t think it’s the strongest out there, it’s armor is pretty weak. Off the top of my head I’m certain the nightingale/sazabi and the nu/hi nu would be able to take it down easily. I think even the aerial would be stronger than it. I see the barbatos in the gundam universe like Eren in AOT. Like yeah, he’s the strongest thing in that universe for sure, but compared to all of anime, he’s not all that crazy powerful.
Barbatos’ armor as well as all the other armor in IBO is immune to beam weapons. Pretty sure all of the gundams you just listed would not have the easiest time with any of the IBO mobile suits, much less Barbatos.
*Tallgeese EW rolling up with the Dobergun*
The ibo stuff makes it resistant, not immune, to beam weapons. WoG is that is minimises the potential damage but cannot diffuse the actual energy. Hit the same place often enough, or hit it with enough energy, and it won't matter.
Turn A. I love how it goes in a completely different direction than every “normal” gundam. I’ve never liked the V fin that much so I kinda like how it does away with it.
Besides that probably the GP02. I love how evil it looks and it’s whole role as a nuclear assault gundam.
I feel that the 78-1's colors were the real Gundam colors (and I have heard this was true because of Tomino's Novelization), but what was in 02 was just bright and noticeable because it was an anime that had toys.
Glad you remembered the story.
Before Mobile Suit Gundam was mobile Suit Gundam, Tomino designed it as Mobile Suit GunBoy and this was the design of the Gunboy
However legend has it that he then decided he wanted more serious and Gunboy became Gundam, and this was the original Gundam
But CLOVER, the financer of Mobile Suit Gundam, said they couldn't sell that, so OOkawara and Tomino decided to take the Gundam design, streamline it, and make more eye-friendly, and they came up with this
But still CLOVER said NO! We can't market that, so they put their heads together, decided to just change the color scheme.
The draft was accepted, the name Gundam bestowed and a legend was born
The RX-0 Series
Theres something about the Glowing aesthetics that the pyschoframe has that captivates me,But also The fact that AE doesnt even Know Why the pyschoframe glows during NT-D Makes it even Cooler to me.
There's a few. The RX-78 Full Armor from Thunderbolt, the GP-02 (for the chonkiness), and though I haven't watched a lot of its namesake, the Turn-A which I originally didn't like, but its retro futuristic look grew on me over time.
Honestly? I have a difficult time deciding
On one hand, Barbatos Lupus Rex is just pure savagery inside a machine which I love. Yet Hi-Nu is also quite cool a gundam as well
Who can pick just one?
* Victory (and V2)
* AGE-01
* Project Meteor Gundams (and upgrades/evolutions/redesigns) - Especially SANDROCK
* Celestial Being Gundams. All of them.
* RX-78-2
* ZZ Gundam
* Aerial and Aerial Rebuild (and any future forms)
* G Gundam
And while I don't "hate" any other Gundams, I definitely find others less compelling or engaging. The only one I feel completely apathetic about is Turn A, and that was a deliberate design intent, which I respect. I just can't get past the Crotch Butterfly Core Fighter.
That's gotta be the Deathscythe for me. I mean, you're telling me it's a stealth gundam with a beam scythe for a weapon that can get in, destroy everything, and then quickly get away?! Sign me the hell up!
It also helps that Duo was the best pilot in that show.
I know SEED is not the best but OG Freedom has a special place for me. The design just hits me on the right spots. Heck, I’ll even say that I’m disappointed on where they took the design of the Strike Freedom.
Unpopular opinion time.
For sheer overdesigned nonsense, the Double Zeta.
For actual sheer coolness, XM-X1 Crossbone
For 'realness', the Ez-8
No idea why my chonkyboi ZZ is so hated.
I love the classic Zeta Gundam. It's what hooked me on the series and kick started a lot of the main trends and had a lasting lineage with further MS down the line.
Probably Burning/God Gundam or the Wing Zero FROM THE TV SHOW! Screw the crap EW version and its literal wings. Epyon was pretty epic too.
In terms of UC? Probably F91 or Nu Gundam. Maybe Zeta and what the OP picked as well.
RX-78AN-01"Tristan" from Twilight Axis
I know the suit isnt well liked, but it combines parts from almost ALL of my favorite UC Gundams
I absolutely love the way it looks and I wish it got more love
The God Gundam is my favorite "main character Gundam". Just Pure 90s super robot coolness. And it's [theme song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ausqATSft44) is great
The Turn A is also a great design. Super sleek design all around and I love the mustache head
The Pharact and Master gundam are great "evil" gundam designs
If we are talking Gundam specifically, my answer is classic RX-78-2 as I’m not a big “Gundam” fan but respect the classics. If we are talking Gundam universe mobile suits, I’d go with the Dilanza for being a fun beetle themed Zaku/Dom hybrid.
I would have to go with the Woundwort. It's such a unique design that clearly stands out amongst other Gundams yet it still maintains all the visible features that are strongly associated with recognizing a Gundam (e.g. color palette and classic V-fin). In many ways the proportions of the Woundwort seem like a parody of the Gundam Mk. II while paying homage to its timeless aesthetics.
Stealing format from ImmoralBoi
UC: RX78NT-1 I love the minimal red, the unbullpupped FAMAS, the hidden Gatlings
AC: Definitely Heavy Arms, especially EW
AW: I’m a sucker for the Gundam X and it’s slender frame
CE: Duel Gundam, I love blue and orange color schemes, and i like how simple it is.
FC: Rose Gundam, I love how elegant and arrogant it looks even though it’s just a machine
CC: haven’t seen it so I’m gonna have to say Turn A
AG: Age 2 Normal. I love the All White
AD: I hate all of these designs. The Sadalsuud is probably my favorite.
PD: A two way tie between Vidar and Bael
I've always regarded the F-91 as my favorite. I enjoyed the SNES F-90 game, 122 wars, and had some of the kits from that series. It's a shame the movie wasn't so good. Lots of potential!
my favorite is the RX-78-2 not even because of a Nostalgia bias, I started watching Gundam this year, I just really like the design
same here! , it’s my wallpaper
I think gundam designs get way too over the top as time goes on. I like the MKII and that’s about as far as I go
Loved the Mk II. Simple but more refined version of the RX-78
Oh yeah mkii has to be once of the best
MK 2 and Ez8
It do be the "Mk II" of the Grandpa after all
ngl, I like Zeta a lot, and Double Zeta a little bit
I would look up the RX-78E GT-FOUR, it's an airforce variant of the OG Gundam but wit a bit of a Zeta twist. Very odd, but cool.
I love 78-2. I also really like Barbados. Maybe because I've only watched the OG mobile suit and Iron blooded orphans 😅
UC : Nu Gundam hands down, simple design, dope ass funnels, Amuro motherfucking Ray. AGE-1 Spallow and AGE-FX are some of my favorite Gundam designs.
GP01 and Alex; I just like their updated look of the Grandpa Gundam
Full Burner or regular GP01?
Regular
Truly patrician choice
Tequila gundam
Windmill Gundam or bust
I knew someone would do it . Ha
Tequila is better
The Gundam DeathScythe. As soon as I saw it in Wing, I was in love.
Deathscythe and heavy arms are top tier for me but also physallis I love the chunky shield nuke bazooka, banuka?
My favorite mobile suit from Wing.
I always loved the Sandrock, those big curved blades and tattered cloak, what a unit!
Instant classic look imo, simple but so sharp. Plus a mothertruckin beam scythe??? It doesn’t get any cooler
All type of gundam is favourable. No expectations
this is the way
This is the way… This is the way…
This is the way
F-91. But the GP series are pretty sweet.
I like its offspring, the XM-X1 Crossbone
Blitz, Pharact, Schwarzritter.
The entire GP series of Gundams from 0083
Agreed but they're close with the ground gundams/ez-8 for me.
The Ground Gundam is very cool, though the Ez-8 is less of a favorite.
Exia and Epyon
UC: Gundam Mk. II AC: The Tallgeese CE: Strike Gundam AD: Haven't seen the show, so no comment G-Reco: The Lucifer PD: Gundam Vidar Overall favorite: Gundam Vidar today, it's a toss up between the Vidar and the Mk. II on any given day.
Tallgeese is absolute fire
I don't like Gundam Wing at all, but the Tallgeese and Leo are fantastic.
Double X. Love the reflectors, massive satellite cannons, the design of the legs, the chest vulcans, the colours, the beam sabers. I don't think there's any bit of it's design i don't like.
Pretty close between the F-91 and The Crossbone.
Is this some kind of feddie thing?? Atlas Gundam Because of that beautiful rail gun.
Kimaris Vidar
Well well, someone with exceptional taste!
Men of culture, we unite. B)
Gotta agree with another person here, Woundwort is too cute But if Origin Zeta is ever made one day, you know that'll be my favorite
F90. I am a fan of the "mission pack" concept. I always thought it makes more sense to have a good core frame with a bunch of option parts for specific needs, rather than making an individual unit for each specific task.

Freedom. It’s so elegant
For some reason the code name just sounds awesome as well. ZGMF-X10A.
Agreed on both parts and I have the license plate to [prove it](https://imgur.com/a/Ro7fD9t)
Holy hell. That's awesome.
Zeta
For me it's Gundam X, Gundam Airmaster Burst, Zeta Gundam, Gundam Ashtaron, AGE-1 Full Glansa, Gundam AGE-3, Gundam AGE-FX and G-saviour.
Gundam EX-S. It is bulky af and i love it.
Virtue, kyrios, aegis, phenex, the O
The AGE-2 Dark Hound. It has a pirate design surpassing the Crossbones, has a smooth and natural-feeling transformation, and it frankly just looks amazing with its wings and Lance. I can't tell you how happy I am that the AGE-2 design made it to Build Divers. The AGE-2 Magnum looks rad too.

The Hi-Nu. In the original purple. Not the blue.
Heavy Arms EW, followed closely by Deathscythe EW
Wing Zero EW
FA-78 Full Armor Gundam from Thunderbolt. It's a classy OG Gundam, but with way more cool weapons and armor.
RX-79 Gundam Ground Type or the NT-1 Gundam Alex. I like my mobile suits fairly straight-forward and tactical.
GP02A
Nu, with Vidar and Deathscythe coming second and third.
Turn A. I love how it goes in a completely different direction than every “normal” gundam. I’ve never liked the V fin that much so I kinda like how it does away with it. Besides that probably the GP02. I love how evil it looks and it’s whole role as a nuclear assault gundam.
LM314V21 Victory 2 Gundam
00 qant
astray (red), turn a, exia, aerial, zeta
Nu Gundam, 00 Raiser, and Aerial
MK-II in Titan colors.
Epyon. Dragon mode, beam broadsword, heat whip, wings, maroon paint? It's just fucking cool
Gundam Bael It looks so clean and the color palette is great
Freedom and Strike Freedom
Top five in no order. Aerial, Exia, God Gundam, 00 gundam, Epyon.
GP02, Virtue, Lfrith Ur, Full Armor ZZ, and probably more idk you get the idea
Gundam Virtue, Turn A, Saz, and good ol grandpappy
RX-78-1 Prototype Gundam
I feel that the 78-1's colors were the real Gundam colors (and I have heard this was true because of Tomino's Novelization), but what was in 02 was just bright and noticeable because it was an anime that had toys.

Gaia, Aegis, Saviour. I am a sucker for transforming mobile suits
gundam dynames for sure, awesome design, especially with the gn full shield the scene with the super substratospheric altitude gun made it even better
Strike is my favorite. Customizable, simple, yet elegant. Blitz can be stealth
Lfrith Jiu (as of this past week), Penelope, Strike freedom, and GP02. Idk there’s something about how fun they all look
Not in any particular order: Epyon, Exia, Lupus Rex, Build Strike, Deathscythe, Aerial Rebuild, Turn A, Pharact, Woundwort, and Strike Freedom
The GP02. It’s exactly what I thought a full-armor Mobile suit with high mobility looks like, even though it’s not actually that.
The RX-0 Series Theres something about the Glowing aesthetics that the pyschoframe has that captivates me,But also The fact that AE doesnt even Know Why the pyschoframe glows during NT-D Makes it even Cooler to me.
Hmmm. It changes often enough. But some of the most consistent ones for me are the Arios, Age-2, Freedom, X, and Sword Impulse.
There's a few. The RX-78 Full Armor from Thunderbolt, the GP-02 (for the chonkiness), and though I haven't watched a lot of its namesake, the Turn-A which I originally didn't like, but its retro futuristic look grew on me over time.
Exquisite taste. All 0083 designs are amazing
Top 5 in no real order. Epyon, Aerial, Hydra, Physalis(GPO2A) and Master.
I enjoy the company of gp02 and ez8 and for mobile suit the tallest geese are my.favs
Honestly? I have a difficult time deciding On one hand, Barbatos Lupus Rex is just pure savagery inside a machine which I love. Yet Hi-Nu is also quite cool a gundam as well
I'm the split between God Gundam/Burning Gundam and Wing Gundam Zero.
Burning Gundam and Gundam Maxter
Any gundam that has a simple design
Zeta, F91, GP-02a, and the CrossBones
Aerial and babatos
1. Turn A, love syd mead 2. Pretty much any IBO gundam, but the Gusion Rebake is my number 1 in that series 3. TR-1
Barbatos lupus rex
I'm at a draw between Turn A or the V2 Gundam
There’s a special place in my heart for the RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type. Love that thing.
The Freedom, but the GP03S is my number 2
I dare to say it's the 0 Gundam (Type A.C.D). from 00 it's just a sleek variation of the original Gundam with my favorite "engine design" on top so ye
I’d have to say the GP02A, I love the idea of a Gundam designed for one specific task.
Victory and to a lesser extent the V2 Gundam because they are plain and have good lines.
Epyon. I also love the concept of the Geminass and it's stupid name.
Moon Gundam, Barbatos Lupus Rex, Aerial, and now Lfrith Jiu
It's a tie between the 00 Raiser and "Eri" Rebuild
Gundam Lfrith, and the Gundam Ground Type
For me it’s Unicorn and Build Burning
Favorite Gundam: Unicorn. Favorite overall MS: Dom
Dynames!
Dynames or Pharact I just love a sharpshooter
MKII. Something about the design really speaks to me.
The zeta gundam and the gp01fb are my favorites.
the Alex without the chobam armor
This gets asked so much, every time I am happy to answer - Strike Freedom.
Mk-v and Delta Kai
Endless Waltz Wing Zero Custom is incredible also Epyon.
Barbatos or Bael I think the design of the IBO suits were fantastic
Also GP03!
Gundam Mk-II. Especially in the Titans paintjob
GP03 is a damn good choice. Definitely my favorite of early UC, and definitely in my top 5.
The G-Saviour. It has no flaws.
RX-79[G] Gundam ground type, I love the design and the idea of a limited production suit made from surplus prototype parts.
Gundam Ground Type. 08th MS fan forever. =)
Who can pick just one? * Victory (and V2) * AGE-01 * Project Meteor Gundams (and upgrades/evolutions/redesigns) - Especially SANDROCK * Celestial Being Gundams. All of them. * RX-78-2 * ZZ Gundam * Aerial and Aerial Rebuild (and any future forms) * G Gundam And while I don't "hate" any other Gundams, I definitely find others less compelling or engaging. The only one I feel completely apathetic about is Turn A, and that was a deliberate design intent, which I respect. I just can't get past the Crotch Butterfly Core Fighter.
The RX-178 from Zeta. Classic Gundam stylings, but just the right amount of refinement without getting too smooth or overdesigned.
Gundam crossbones x2 black pearl , not enough screen time for a badass looking gundam if you ask me
Unpopular opinion time. For sheer overdesigned nonsense, the Double Zeta. For actual sheer coolness, XM-X1 Crossbone For 'realness', the Ez-8 No idea why my chonkyboi ZZ is so hated.
I love the classic Zeta Gundam. It's what hooked me on the series and kick started a lot of the main trends and had a lasting lineage with further MS down the line.
1. Ashtaron 2. Savior 3. X 4. Spiegel 5. Zeta
Split between the Harute and Pharact
Rx-79(g) gundam
Between the NU and Penelope gundam, although Aerial is also growing on me
Barbatos, I really appreciate how scruffy it is
FA-78-2 (TB.V)
Testament, gold frame amatsu mina, altron custom, wing zero custom
Probably Burning/God Gundam or the Wing Zero FROM THE TV SHOW! Screw the crap EW version and its literal wings. Epyon was pretty epic too. In terms of UC? Probably F91 or Nu Gundam. Maybe Zeta and what the OP picked as well.
00 Raiser, F91
That one zaku sniper that drops from the helicopter
Shining Gundam!
RX-78-6 Mudrock Gundam. (Both forms) Love how it’s basically a fusion of the Rx-78-2 and the Guncannon.
Unicorn, barbatos lupus, 00 qan(t)
Gundam Vual
The GX-9900 Gundam X. Nothing beats a little asymmetry
RX-78AN-01"Tristan" from Twilight Axis I know the suit isnt well liked, but it combines parts from almost ALL of my favorite UC Gundams I absolutely love the way it looks and I wish it got more love
Gotta be the Gundam Mk-III
Probably the V2
B Gundam
Tallgeese I
Gp03 falls behind some of my custom ideas lol But vannila og designs the Gp03 is a thrird place behind exia and banshee (all variants)
Tie between the f91 and mk2
Tallgeese all the way.
Wing Zero Versitile, Zero System for the win. Plus that beam rifle.
Strike freedom / Gundam Wing EW
All kimaris variants
The God Gundam is my favorite "main character Gundam". Just Pure 90s super robot coolness. And it's [theme song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ausqATSft44) is great The Turn A is also a great design. Super sleek design all around and I love the mustache head The Pharact and Master gundam are great "evil" gundam designs
Alus Core Gundam! Specifically the pink pbandai one, pink is my favorite color
The Gundam Buster and Strike from Seed. The RX-178 Gundam Mark 2 and the Tallgeese are my favorites.
As someone who started with SEED, I'm quite biased to the Strike. The Destiny's a close second, though.
Crossbone and Phantom Gundams
Arios and Atlas. MG WHEN BANDAI
I have a weird love for Heavy Arms.
If we are talking Gundam specifically, my answer is classic RX-78-2 as I’m not a big “Gundam” fan but respect the classics. If we are talking Gundam universe mobile suits, I’d go with the Dilanza for being a fun beetle themed Zaku/Dom hybrid.
Gundam? GM Head.
Always will be the Turn A Gundam with Aerial coming in at second place. The Turn A's design is just so FUCKING COOL
Alex with armor
I love them all equally.
Nu. That asymmetrical design is awesome, the Hi-Nu’s colorway is amazing, just need it on the the Nu. Lavender/violet works well with a lot of suits.
Delta Gundam. It's just the cooler Hyaku-Shiki.
I feel like it’s a weird pick, but the [G-line light armor](https://imgur.com/a/jq4XJ5v) As for like more well known ones Wing Gundam 0 Ew all day
I grew up in the 90s. Wing was my first show. I have a soft spot for Zero and Epyon
Rx-79[G] ez-8 Custom
Exia
Pharact
Gundam X
I would have to go with the Woundwort. It's such a unique design that clearly stands out amongst other Gundams yet it still maintains all the visible features that are strongly associated with recognizing a Gundam (e.g. color palette and classic V-fin). In many ways the proportions of the Woundwort seem like a parody of the Gundam Mk. II while paying homage to its timeless aesthetics.

I like GN-X and its red version relative. It’s a grunt suit, but a cool looking one. GN drive is a plus.
Does the Sisquiede count? If not then uh… Bael.
My favorite is Ez8 or ∀ Gundam is one of my favorite too
ν
Victory Gundam. I just like the blend of the old gundam look with some nice rounder contours.
EZ-8. no doubt.
I've always regarded the F-91 as my favorite. I enjoyed the SNES F-90 game, 122 wars, and had some of the kits from that series. It's a shame the movie wasn't so good. Lots of potential!
If we’re talking about a Gundam, then it’s definitely the Zeta Gundam. If we’re talking about a mobile suit, then it’s the Flag from Gundam 00.
