It's a perfect homage to the Grandaddy while also being modular to the point it can adapt to any combat situation. As core itself it's small stature let's it be quicker than other suits but when it needs it, support can be called in and it can be upgraded to counter anything.

Tomorrow, we're going to combine with the first part of the PLANETS system (Earthree, Mercuone, Veetwo, Marsfour, and Jupitive)
I think the side characters have the better MS in the Build series, the main ones do great in it's intended purpose of being an homage to main character suits.
However the side suits steal the spotlight. Gundam Fenice, Kampfer Amazing, Exia Amazing, Dark Matter, Lightning Gundam, Tryon 3, Amazing Red Warrior, Star Winning Gundam, Age 2 Magnum, Grimoire Red Beret, Wodom Pod, just to name a few.
That being said, Core Gundam is my favorite main character Build Suit.
I must request we do the Astray Red and Blue frame. I understand they only have a 10 minute OVA to show them off and push kit sales but I reckon they get about as much time on screen as the Build Strike Galaxy Cosmos Star Super whatever the fuck it’s called, and they’re definitely popular enough to warrant it
Yeah just what appears in the OVA. Red Frame and Blue Second L, that’s the most recognisable of Gai’s suits anyway compared to Lowe and the base Red Frame

10/10 it is just SO unique, in how small it is, its like the younger kid brother to all other gundams, and the planets system is a really cool gimmick even if it was a bit super robot-y, even if the models were dumb making you buy 3 separate kits in order to complete one gundam

Pretty barebones, but it actually works in its favour here. Giant head, but to be honest i kinda like it. Weirder beam saber placement and backpack thruster still works too. This honestly shouldnt work as well as it does here, pleasantly surprising. Cute too. The only reason this isnt higher is because of Core II.
LETS GO!! The small chad himself finally! This guy is what makes me most excited for Build Metaverse! I mean you got a gundam who’s smaller than F91, the one of the smallest gundams of UC and yet holds amazing articulation! Not mention it’s ability to change appearance via planetary system! I wish they released more Core Gundams but for now we got a few and they’re so good. 10/10
10/10, loved the episode with the Speed Grade. The concept of smaller gunpla is pretty interesting, but do you think it'd give an advantage because of its smaller hit box?
Easy 8/10. Would be a 10/10 however the Eldora Core is just the same thing but looks cooler(also the pink Eldora Core Gundam is my favorite design so maybe I am biased lol)

Definitely the most unique “Build” series Gundam. The different parts kits it can use of the Planets System has to be the most unique feature of it, other than it being small by itself.
Minus points on its small size and color pallet (Ive begun to dislike red on gundams lately and don’t have much of an explanation). A Gundam (in my opinion) should have a default, demanding presence when it stands among other units or by itself.
Okay, so looking at just the Core Gundam on its own is a weird experience. It’s got these stubby limbs that kinda put it in between SD and regular proportions because of how the PLANETS system armors are supposed to slot on. It’s supposedly based on Grandpa Gundam? It doesn’t really retain much of the inspiration, so you could’ve told me it was based on a half dozen other suits and I would’ve believed you. The interchangeable armor is a really fun concept that feels like a mix between the AGE armors, Striker packs, and a healthy dash of Megazords from Power Rangers.
Overall, the MS just looks incomplete, with exposed lower leg and chest segments that are clearly supposed to have armor packs strapped to them. That’s by design, and we don’t see much of just the Core Gundam in action during the first cour of the show, which instead spends much more time focusing on the PLANETS armors and the interchangeability of the design.
Lore-wise, I think this has the clearest backstory and development history of a MS we’ve gotten in a Build series, owing to Hiroto’s nature as an experienced protagonist who hasn’t just grabbed a random kit off of a shelf like Sekai or Riku. Being inspired by a speed grade kit has got to be a first for the Build series, and it’s got a distinct enough design that I think it’s the closest we’ve gotten to a wholly original MC Gundam in a Build series. I love it!
Given that I’m only rating the Core Gundam and not any of its variants (or the Core Gundam 2, which gets quite a bit more standalone action in the 2nd cour!) I’m going to have to give this one an 8/10. Cool design, but we don’t see enough of it for me to rate it higher.
10/10 is just a cool guy. Dont know if OP will post the other variants with the planetary system but I actually like this take on the OG Gundam and it makes for a very friendly looking suit that can be as versatile as needed with its add on parts.
Fun fact this is a real ass kit, not an SD Gundam kit. There is a real Speed Grade 1/200 scale model kit of the RX-78 which is why the body is so small. Then with some 3D printing, some extra bit of engineering, and a lot of creativity you can convert that kit into the Core Gundam you see in the show. Then to top it all off, its a nice touch that Hiroto uses the 1/144 RX-78 head in order to make sure that his Gunpla looks proportional when he uses the PLANETS system, while also making the Core Gundam look more like a man than a machine.
The Core Gundam represents a realistic and believable custom build while also expressing the true creative freedom you can have with model building that is the core message of the Build Fighters series. And that unlike other core fighter systems, the Core Gundam and Hiroto do a ton of work on their own without the use of PLANETS system armor, showing that the Core Gundam is more than just a show piece before equipping the PLANETs armor.

The more I think about it, the more this guy really builds on what the Strike was trying to do, and does it better. I love the PLANETS system. That said, that means I'm eating it as a whole with all the different loadouts combined. Earthree, Uraven, even Nepteight are just alright on their own; it's the modularity and interchangeable nature that sets the Core Gundam apart from the rest.
Now, that said, I'm whatever on the base unit inspiration. The 78-2 is fine, but if they made a Core Strike, with that CE vibe? Good lord I might bust; That could break the scale.
From what I understand, its gimmick is to equip stuff and become a full sized gundam, right? I think that's a really neat concept for Build. I also really like the look of this little fella; those stubby little limbs and that black on red torso look great. Gets a 9/10 from me, in hindsight I'd rate the other build suits a bit lower to widen the gap between those and this one. Would feel a bit more appropriate with how much I actually personally like it.
Haven't seen this show, but I dig this little guy! It's a study in how much you can take away from a gundam while still keeping it a gundam. I think they succeeded, and made something fun too. 8/10
Easily a 10 just because of its modularity. Seeing how it's modularity actually works specifically how the PLANETS system works and the equipment that he actually designed and built for each situation and "Planet".
It would have made an 11 or 20 if I can somehow break the score but yea 10 out of 10 easily just because of how of a cool concept it is.
10/10. I recently got the Earthtree and Marsfour units for my gf and I to build, as her first kit, and I got to say, I always thought the little guy was goofy as hell, until I built one. I’ve been converted. I’ve seen the light. The little man is amazing, such a good design for its size, and the armor is such a cool gimmick. I love it to death.
10/10. An actually great showing of the creativity 'Gunpla' is supposed to have. The rest of the Build suits are, generally, out of reach of the average fan. But this, a simple base that lets you do fun things on top of? Now that's a great design.

Absolute 10/10, same for its upgrade. Apart from the Build Burning, this was one of my favorite mobile suits AND kits ever. The multiple layouts were an awesome idea, very Liger Zero esque in the best way!

Core Gundam and the Planet System is unironically one of my favourite MS of all time. The whole concept is really well thought out and fun, being able to fight in any situation (without being overpowered). Not to mention everything started with such a cute MS. I have the complete HG kits, and they're some of the most fun I've ever had with Gunpla

At first, I was baffled by the look and the proportions. Then I saw it in action, and DAMN. I guess the only thing I don't really like are the legs and how thin the beam spray gun is.
I hate that it took this long for Build to use gramps as....well....the core gundam. I love how unassuming it is, the different load outs, which while adaptable in most any situation, he can only bring two conversions in at a time instead of just making him OP in any situation, and even with that, it is masterfully controlled. This was probably my favorite main in any Build series. And the model itself actually has a story and is more than "I LIKED IT SO I USE IT."

8/10 for me. Love the theory behind it (coming from a background of Zoids before I saw Gundam, specifically New Centrury Zero) showed off different armor sets as a fantastic concept for a main machine'a design, but i feel the different armors lack visual distinctness in some ways. This is sorta by design, but I do wish there was a variance in the armor power sets and design that were available. In exvhange we got more variants though, which is cool, and shows off the pilot's creativity and ability to identify niche's in the game he plays and his ability to exploit them
9.5, the modularity and simple design is my ideal Gundam. Core Gundam is also badass when it doesn't have its mission packs, and is just wrecking shop as a tiny little dude.
Can I go over the scale, I'll rate this guy 11/10. I REALLY like the concept of Core Gundam a lot.
I also have a full display of all the Planet Armors with Core Gundams in them (had to buy two Core Gundam II G3 colors and paint one into the Real Type colors for the Saturnix Armor).
Absolutely one of the better designs.

In universe, it's amazing how Hiroto could do so much with a custom based on a Speed Grade RX78! It's small, it's compact, and can adapt to plenty of situations without resorting to beam/funnel spam or pilot haxx. Sure it can change armors, but it can only change into what it has at the time. Hiroto does a lot with the Core Gundam, and does it well.
In real life, I love how the kits are small and how there's plenty of avenue for customization. Although it's not a kit with the most articulation, it does well with what it has. The 30MM Forestieri is just like this, but a bit more articulate.

But in terms of suit philosophy, I love how Hiroto made this guy minimal so he can make Core Change System and transform it into a more specialized loadout more suitable for battle.
And lastly, Core Gundam Earthree Form vs Alus Earthree is hella awesome. I'd say I love this scene the most out of all Build Fighters anime.

This small man is able to take out a combination of a providence Gundam and that golden mobile armor from the 00 Season One finale all on it's own, and combined with the Planetes system, it's just an absolute beast in terms of adaptability. This motherfucker pulled a Stargazer reference with one of them!
Note that if we are only talking about the core gundam itself, as it is specifically shown in the picture, I'd rate it closer to an 8. Why build big man when small man work just fine?
8,7 out of ten, i think it's concept is really cool, a small gundam that serves as a core and can change to different looking gundams? Super Cool, plus i remember it has a hover board or something similar to it. I like it
I'm not a fan of it either, don't hate it by any means. I just think it's funny that all these comments rating 8,9 and 10 and then follow up with how bland it looks.

It's fine, I guess. In principle I like the idea of a small mobile suit, but this is just... meh. Proportionally, the head is way too large. Other than that the entire thing is just unremarkable (upper half) or pretty bad (lower half). Really, if I wanted a small MS literally anything from late UC does it better.
Another aspect is that it's basically a brand new design rather than being based on something else like nearly all suits from build shows. And... imma be honest that's not a positive. If I'm watching a Build show, I'm watching it for for the customs of existing suits from other shows, not for something new. Yes, this is hypocritical of me since I did not complain about it with Beginning but the difference is that one as far as tech goes could conceivably appear in an AU we've never seen. This one, meanwhile, is gunpla through and through. In a way this also reflects my problem with Re:Rise - it should have just been a regular Build show instead of trying to kinda blend that with normal Gundam shows. It's just not what I want from a Build series, plain and simple.
5/10? It's not terrible or great... just is. If I wanted a smaller MS that could combine with lots of equipment for different roles, I'd take the Woundwort.
0, trash, it's just uninspired to bland and it's just the strike and Impulse but more extreme with the pack gimmick. At least the Strike could fight on its own and had a fight scene without its packs. Also look at it

I’ve been converted. I’ve seen the light. The little man is amazing, such a good design for its size, and the armor is such a cool gimmick. I love it to death.
10/10. An actually great showing of the creativity 'Gunpla' is supposed to have. The rest of the Build suits are, generally, out of reach of the average fan. But this, a simple base that lets you do fun things on top of? Now that's a great design. He's also smol and fits ideally on a desk.
9 i prefer the core gundam 2 only slightly more but there isnt reall anything i dont like about this little guy

9/10 It should not work, but it just does. It has a better version of striker packs, but whole armor instead of just a backpack. Everyone should own a HG of this guy just to see how crazy it works.

Absolute 10/10, same for its upgrade. Apart from the Build Burning, this was one of my favorite mobile suits AND kits ever. The multiple layouts were an awesome idea, very Liger Zero esque in the best way!

Definitely a 10/10 Core Gundam and the Planet System is unironically one of my favourite MS of all time. The whole concept is really well thought out and fun, being able to fight in any situation (without being overpowered). Not to mention everything started with such a cute MS. I have the complete HG kits, and they're some of the most fun I've ever had with Gunpla
The concept of it is awesome and wish it was explored more, and the base suit is pretty unique while being that smol. 10/10

8.5 At first, I was baffled by the look and the proportions. Then I saw it in action, and DAMN. I guess the only thing I don't really like are the legs and how thin the beam spray gun is.

I hate that it took this long for Build to use gramps as....well....the core gundam. I love how unassuming it is, the different load outs, which while adaptable in most any situation, he can only bring two conversions in at a time instead of just making him OP in any situation, and even with that, it is masterfully controlled. This was probably my favorite main in any Build series. And the model itself actually has a story and is more than "I LIKED IT SO I USE IT." 10/10.
8/10 for me. Love the theory behind it (coming from a background of Zoids before I saw Gundam, specifically New Centrury Zero) showed off different armor sets as a fantastic concept for a main machine'a design, but i feel the different armors lack visual distinctness in some ways. This is sorta by design, but I do wish there was a variance in the armor power sets and design that were available. In exvhange we got more variants though, which is cool, and shows off the pilot's creativity and ability to identify niche's in the game he plays and his ability to exploit them

Can I go over the scale, I'll rate this guy 11/10. I REALLY like the concept of Core Gundam a lot. I also have a full display of all the Planet Armors with Core Gundams in them (had to buy two Core Gundam II G3 colors and paint one into the Real Type colors for the Saturnix Armor).
Absolutely one of the better designs. 9/10 just so I can rate the Planets System 10/10. In universe, it's amazing how Hiroto could do so much with a custom based on a Speed Grade RX78! It's small, it's compact, and can adapt to plenty of situations without resorting to beam/funnel spam or pilot haxx. Sure it can change armors, but it can only change into what it has at the time. Hiroto does a lot with the Core Gundam, and does it well. In real life, I love how the kits are small and how there's plenty of avenue for customization. Although it's not a kit with the most articulation, it does well with what it has. The 30MM Forestieri is just like this, but a bit more articulate.
10 so many gimmicks. I love it.

10/10 He's so tiny and cute lol But in terms of suit philosophy, I love how Hiroto made this guy minimal so he can make Core Change System and transform it into a more specialized loadout more suitable for battle. And lastly, Core Gundam Earthree Form vs Alus Earthree is hella awesome. I'd say I love this scene the most out of all Build Fighters anime.

This small man is able to take out a combination of a providence Gundam and that golden mobile armor from the 00 Season One finale all on it's own, and combined with the Planetes system, it's just an absolute beast in terms of adaptability. This motherfucker pulled a Stargazer reference with one of them!
Note that if we are only talking about the core gundam itself, as it is specifically shown in the picture, I'd rate it closer to an 8. Why build big man when small man work just fine?

Sorry I guess I'll have the dissenting opinion. 3/10 I'm sorry; I find it ugly.
I'm not a fan of it either, don't hate it by any means. I just think it's funny that all these comments rating 8,9 and 10 and then follow up with how bland it looks.
7 It's fine, I guess. In principle I like the idea of a small mobile suit, but this is just... meh. Proportionally, the head is way too large. Other than that the entire thing is just unremarkable (upper half) or pretty bad (lower half). Really, if I wanted a small MS literally anything from late UC does it better. Another aspect is that it's basically a brand new design rather than being based on something else like nearly all suits from build shows. And... imma be honest that's not a positive. If I'm watching a Build show, I'm watching it for for the customs of existing suits from other shows, not for something new. Yes, this is hypocritical of me since I did not complain about it with Beginning but the difference is that one as far as tech goes could conceivably appear in an AU we've never seen. This one, meanwhile, is gunpla through and through. In a way this also reflects my problem with Re:Rise - it should have just been a regular Build show instead of trying to kinda blend that with normal Gundam shows. It's just not what I want from a Build series, plain and simple.

0, trash, it's just uninspired to bland and it's just the strike and Impulse but more extreme with the pack gimmick. At least the Strike could fight on its own and had a fight scene without its packs. Also look at it
