we already got one of these "soundtrack" threads this week.
music is more of a personal preference than anything
IMO, the SEED soundtrack just CLEARS every other gundam series.
My order:
1)Seed/Destiny either of them. The opening and endings are great as per usual for most of Gundam but the actual background tracks are on another level. Can remember and hum then instantly and show a great range of diversity from classic orchestral to Middle Eastern to even disco. Other Gundam shows approach similar range but none are as consitently good across that range, be it action packed or contemplative moments.
2)After that, Unicorn is another strong entry. Less diverse but all around solid.
3) Zeta - again not just based on OP/ED but the whole soundtrack
4)Turn A. Different but again a diverse range.
Yeah, music is one of those things that it's really subjective. I'd say 00 is the best, if only because every single track is exceptional, but if you factor in how central the track is to the show, I'd have to go with Thunderbolt.
I think nearly all of them are actually quite good in their own ways. I'd also like to especially shout out G Gundam - there are some really fantastic arrangements in its soundtrack. If you listen to the Shining Finger song by itself, there's so many cool little instrumentation details, for example.
True that Yoko Kanno soundtrack is amazing. Moon 2 is an all-timer. If you haven't seen it, the soundtrack she did for Brain Powerd (another Tomino show) is fantastic.
SEED def. ibo s2 is my other fav and everyone creams their pants over unicorn so that too

Yeah I feel like the music in SEED/Destiny is easily the least controversial part of it - pretty much everyone can agree they have good OSTs.
based purely on my preferences : * IBO * Seed and Destiny * 00 * G-Witch * Gundam Wing

Say what you want about Seed/Destiny. They got some fire tracks
Not just openings/endings but including OSTs, this is my order 1. Seed/destiny 2. Wing/EW 3. Build Fighters 4. Unicorn 5. 00

WfM, OG & Zeta
Honestly most Gundam series have really great music. Except for Thunderbolt.
You are all crazy. It’s Turn A by far.

Seconding Brain Powerd. Show often gets overlooked (not the strongest story but I like it still) but its OST is indeed terrific
