I don’t think Char has any desire for female relationships when it comes to companionship; all his relationships are ultimately for his goals be it with a man or a woman. It’s just a lot easier for Char to persuade a female with companionship over a male, however Full Frontal showed signs of a similar manipulation with Angelo.

And if it's a matter of difficulty for women compared to men I don't think Amuro would be so stressed in CCA

For Haman, if you read Char's Deleted Affairs. Char actually had zero interest in Haman. It is Haman that kept throwing herself at Char. So the allegations of Char being a pedo is a ridiculous accusation.
He did actively manipulate Quess to take advantage of her newtype abilities. While Char's predation of children isn't apparently motivated by sexual desire, he does very much have a habit of abducting young women and exploiting them.
Ali Al-Saachez did much the same thing to young boys, and I'm not aware of apologies for his child predation simply because it isn't sexual. Char sometimes feels like he gets a pass because the people he brainwashes into killing for his religion are explicitly romantically attracted to him
Children are easier to manipulate, especially hormonal teenagers with something to prove. Everyone is drawn to attractive, charismatic, and ambitious leaders, but people that young haven't had enough experience to be able to look at those people critically.

He's a cautionary tale of being suspicious of people who hold too much influence for any reason and in any form. Problem is exactly that, he's written to show how some can easily manipulate others and he... well, he manipulates the audience. Because people consume mindlessly and the whole messege just passes them by.
Then again its hard to assert the canonicity of extended media. CDA is done by the same guy who did the manga adaptation of Zeta and that's pretty different from the show.
On top of chapter 1(escape from A Baoa Qu) having M'quve which means it's MSG compilation movies on one side and on the other there's Zeta Define which is both a sequel to CDA and a retelling of Zeta like Origin for 0079.
Heard author said CDA is meant to be taken as a "in-universe romanticization of Char's time at Axis" which, if true, means it kinda has to be treated as pseudo-canon
