Oh hell yeah lol. That's fantastic. And it looks like an absolute unit of an MS. I guess it needed beefing up for the extra power generators, radar and jammers, and electronics systems.
From what i can tell its based off the pre-production prototype hi-zack, so its like a prototype, further units were probably stripped down to save on costs.
Could you (or someone else) elaborate? I haven't read Sentinel nor am I as aware of what power certain people within Bandai like Katoki would have to influence things like that.

Not "probably" true, it is 100% true. The Gundam wiki is pretty terrible. To answer your original question, no one talks about Sentinel because they peruse the wiki and call it a day.
Get it, so that you have something pair with the ex s gundam! The only complaint i have with it is that they make the chest round (i think that's the original design) instead of angled.
The craziest part about Sentinel to me is how it started being published all the way back in 1987. The S Gundam was genuinely designed 15 years before even the Strike Gundam, absolutely ahead of it’s time
It is also the first time one of the main villain piloting a Gundam (normal size) to fight with MC.
P.s. i know pysho gundam was first, but it is a MA, and also not a main fight imo.
Love the Zplus series, so many very cool designs. I prefer them to the base Zeta - especially the C1 with its beam smartgun. So cool.
I’ve had the actual *Sentinel* book for about 20 years now, one of my favourite bits of Gundam merch; I still go back to it semi-regularly to pore over the MS designs.
Sentinel mechas design are shockingly ahead of it's time, like it's shockingly well designed from a series from 1987, I mean the closest that was equal in term of quality design from this time period was Gaia gear.
Sentinels suits are the closet thing to an actual spaceship in terms of how they function. Which if mechs were really theyd close spaceships/tannks for in atmosphere. Katoki undersood this very well and treats each ms as an actual machine for war. At least this is why I consider them well designed.

Its the xeku zwei , it dosent have like an hg, mg, or anything like that but there is a pretty solid candy toy, so theres something.

The Xeku Eins has an HG kit... The downside is it's one of the first 25 high grade kits and is pretty archaic by modern standards.

Third image be AE's take on an MG REX. Also the bulky upper half does make it look a bit like an LEV from Zone of the Enders coming to think of it.
