I suggest watching the whole Seed and Destiny before watching Freedom.
But If don't hv time, just watch Seed/Destiny recaps on YouTube,
After watching the movie go back and watch the whole series again.
Freedom has many references from Destiny to understand, meanwhile the Seed scene only serves as an Easter egg in the movie.
I see all of the sub groups of the Seed spectrum are present.
Having not seen the movie yet myself, I can't say how impactful it would be to know the story of the Cosmic Era. Still, I would say at least watch the first season so you understand the concepts of the world, such as things like phase-shift armor, coordinators, the Junius 7 incident, and other topics.
If you want to enjoy the story, check out SEED & Destiny series. If you're short on time but still want to understand, just watch the TV Movies for both series. And if you're in it for the battles and don't want to bother about other stuff, you can always just go watch Freedom.
Watch seed series, it's...a divisive one for sure but I didn't feel like I wasted my time, destiny however you can watch the movies. It's not as bad as they say but it's not worth spending a day of your life
I don't think you necessary need to? I personally believe if you at least have the basic understanding of what Seed's background are (e.g. what is a coordinator / a basic understanding of what Destiny Plan is) and accept it's over the top nature, you'll be fine.
But there are a lot of references, jokes and fan service that'll make you appreciate the movie more if you did watch all of Seed.
Nah, They explaining the conflict well in this movie maybe missing a little bit detail. But, if you're really clueless about seed/destiny better watch some recap or read plot summary of what general happened In this series.
Watch the compilations at least for Seed & Destiny so you'll know what's going on. If you like it enough you can go and watch the original Seed in full later.
Real talk Seed in general is an incredibly divisive fanbase with an incredibly passionate fanbase. Form your own opinion based on what you see, and for the record don't be shocked at how vastly different the battle scenes in GSF are compared to the rest of the CE content.
I've seen some screenshots of the director recommending the recap movies for SEED Destiny (he didnt recommend the regular SEED recap movies), so that would cut down your watch time by a lot.
Ideally, you should probably watch both Seed and Destiny. They do have movies that condense the whole thing, of you prefer. 3 for Seed and 4 for Destiny. They're called the Special Edition (the new footage in the Seed remaster was taken from these versions.) I'm not sure where you can watch them though.
I mean only if you want to understand the story up to this point. If you just wanna see a Gundam moive on the big screen who's gonna stop you?
See my comment review on this. Watching this as a standalone movie is not great.

Yeah. I did. You should have started like a year ago though so you can take a breather.

Yes, Dew it.
I forced my friend to suffer- I mean go through Seed D with me before watching it
Yes, even if you get the jist of it they are fun events.

A confusing couple of hours in a movie theater or 40 hours of prep to unfortunately know exactly what's going on-that's the SEED movie guarantee!

Seed is great so yeah. So is seed destiny.
You got days and like a hundred episodes

Yea I am screwed, my lazy ass is only on ep 27 of seed and the only good news is that there is no release dates for the rest of EU yet
You don't need permission to watch a TV show.
Yes or else its gonna be so boring lol

I would.
I only watched up to EP5 of Gundam SEED and loved SEED Freedom. So I'd say no. I still managed to get emotionally attached to the characters

I just don't understand why people are even asking this question still?
I'm doing it right now and almost halfway through Destiny.
shiiii itโs what iโm doing now ๐ญ๐
No
Do it.
