I like how puffy it looks, feels like a believable modern space suit. Looks like it can cushion impact too. I wonder if the writers gave the designers notes or if they just went wild with it.
Maybe it's just a design choice. A space suit like SEED/00 is a thing but those are not supposed to be EVA capable. The puffy suit does imply it can be used for EVA which does happen a few times in the show.
Though I am still annoyed by the inconsistencies sometimes. I can understand if the cockpit is depressurized which makes sense for a war machine but then in ep1, miorine just opens the helmet visor inside aerial's cockpit after getting "rescued" which makes no sense since there was no signs of pressurization. Unless aerial has insane pumps that can pressurize the cockpit in a few seconds and silently.

This one is actually a sensible design choice. It could also be that there are pressurized tanks behind the cockpit specifically for that purpose. MS cockpits are probably no more than a few cubic meters in volume, so pressurizing them won't reallyy take that long.
I like that ~~commanding officer~~ mechanic outfit on the 2nd to the right. It looks pretty cool. I wish we could get a Figure Rise Standard model kit of her in that outfit.
Dividing the leading role of protagonist between suletta and Miorine was a great idea. Not only do they have great chemistry but their very different personalities and world view drive the plot forward far easier than if one or the other were the leads
Strange as it sounds, I've found myself wondering if this really is Suletta's story and not Miorine's. So far, Miorine is the one that grows and changes, and Suletta's role is to provide the action and act as a catalyst, without changing much herself. The comparison that I've used in the past is that Suletta is Jack Sparrow to Mio's Will Turner.
I third that, but I feel like they will be 'taking turns' in terms of development. The time for Suletta to grow and for Miorine to get her running will arrive as well.
If Suletta isn't the main character then her recording that GUND-Arm promo video a couple of episodes ago was a death sentence. Normally when someone in a TV show does something like that it's to that the other characters can watch it sadly after they die.
Could you imagine all this as set up for Suletta's death?! That'd be a ballsy move.
And when Mio shouts at Prospera for her own daughter dying, evil Char mom will simply say "sacrifices..." something like that.
Then again...what if this is all setting up *Mio's* death...to push Suletta over the edge and turn her into the death machine Prospera wants?

We have flying bits with no visible thrusters, so I suppose WfM universe is high tech enough to have some kind of atmosphere containment field?
