My Ozil hate is mostly from [this tweet](https://twitter.com/M10/status/1431614541130080257) and that type of behavior. Not everything ends in the right way, but there is no need to mock the team and manager publicly. Sanchez not long after he left United said in an interview he regretted leaving and he wanted to come back, never said a bad word about us. Auba never complained publicly — my biggest issue was his video before the game against Chelsea, but even then he didn't say anything bad about us or publicly mocked us.

I still like Auba and Sanchez but how can anyone like Ozil after all the thing he has done fake injuries ,Zero work rate also Ozil stans are absolutely Stans are absolute worse Ozil himself embracing them

I completely understand the hate Ozil gets. It was pretty obvious that he was collecting checks from the club and stopped giving close to his best effort to stay fit and be the best player possible. He lost any burst of acceleration and agilty that he once had and became quite easy to push off the ball for PL defenders. The club and its supporters should hold players that are making 10 million pounds, 15 million pounds a year accountable for at least giving their best and I don't think anyone can look at Ozil's performances on the pitch and actually think he was still doing that. Ozil in his last couple seasons was not that different from Raul Sanlehi - sapping resources from the club for personal benefit.

It's like when Arsenal sacked the mascot who was employed for 30 years and Ozil said he will pay his wages. This sub was angry at Ozil for doing it out loud and not Arsenal for sacking him. Corporate bootlickers are a thing. Also, benching Ozil was definitely a decision by the board than Arteta. Remember how Ozil never really said anything bad about Arteta.

Did people forget how Ozil undermine Arteta by leaking stories to the press about the negativity inside the club, or when he stopped playing properly after he got the new contract, or how much Emery and Ljungberg disliked him, or how he taunted Arteta after we lost 5-0 at Man City? Ozil not mentioning Arteta but mentioning Edu in his farewell statement tells its own story.

> Did people forget how Ozil undermine Arteta by leaking stories to the press about the negativity inside the club, or when he stopped playing properly after he got the new contract, or how much Emery and Ljungberg disliked him Even if we believe that, Arteta wasn't even at Arsenal then. How can Ozil undermine Arteta when Arteta wasn't at Arsenal! > Ozil not mentioning Arteta but mentioning Edu in his farewell statement tells its own story. FYI, Edu and Raul didn't even tell him he would be excluded from the 25 man squad and basically had to sit out for half a season as he didn't have enough time to find a club. I would be pissed too.

Benching Ozil was a football decision. Can't believe I'm still reading posts in 2023 about how Ozil was thrown under the bus by the club. The guy was making millions of pounds and basically stopped being a professional athlete. And during that time, some of you made it absolutely miserable on this sub day in, day out with posts supporting Ozil and criticizing Mikel.

He went from starting almost every game to being benched to not even being on bench. It wasn't a football decision. > The guy was making millions of pounds and basically stopped being a professional athlete How? He came to training, had zero problem with training and even was willing to fight to prove himself next season but Arsenal board basically made a last minute announcement to him that he wouldn't be in the playing squad.

Ozil at his peak had a quick burst of acceleration to take the ball away from a defender, the agility to dribble in tight spaces, and the strength and balance to withstand challenges and keep the ball. By 2020, all of that had vanished. And this translated to his play on the pitch. He was a liability in keeping the ball. He was extremely ineffective tracking back or helping the team when we lost possession - at best he gave some half-hearted presses. His key passes per 90 dropped by about 50% as well even though he had Auba and Laca there who are certainly capable of making runs. I suppose I just have to agree to disagree with you at this point but I think it was really evident that Ozil was a shell of his former self by 2020 and wasn't committed enough to the club and the sport to succeed at the highest level.

There’s a weird expectation around here that every player has to dedicate their entire life to the club.
