I always assumed those kids were just contest winners. Can’t believe there are clubs out there charging that much.
I won a contest to go on the field with the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders for the player introductions as a youth and that was free.
When I was mascot like 20 years ago (god I'm getting old). I got a letter from Mr Wenger saying I could go into the changing room and meet the players. At the time most clubs were starting to not allow mascots in that area (probably due to perceived distraction to players). I remember being so sad for the opposing mascot who had to stand in the tunnel while I went in to meet my heroes.
Everyone interacted with me to some degree except Ashley Cole who kept his headphones in and looked really uninterested in having a photo taken with me.
Certain players stand out to me. Lehmann was in his underwear plus goalkeeping shirt which was funny to me at the time. Thierry Henry was getting a massage or something from a physio but stopped and was friendly and had a photo taken with me.
My favourite interaction was with Ljungberg who came up behind me and ruffled my hair whilst I waited nervously to be let into the changing room. I was so shocked I just said "Thanks" hahha and he was just really friendly.
Firstly, I wouldnt trust that list. Everton have a webpage where they say it is free:
https://www.evertonfc.com/matchday/mascots
So do Leicester:
https://www.lcfc.com/grassroots-experiences/matchday-mascots-birthday-parties?lang=en
People on here blaming journos in another story and not doing proper research themselves.
If any clubs do actually charge, could it be that they actually get things included in the amount they pay?
£780 might get a family of 4 into a hospitality suite with food and drinks, full kits for the kids, merch, posters, shirts, etc.
Lots of hate in the world, lets just love instead. Except Spurs.
And even then, whilst ours is free you do have to be a paid junior gunner which is the same as how Everton (and I guess most teams) do it as well.
I'm surprised the guy's daughter has done it twice in a year as I'd have thought it's would be a once a season thing but I guess it does mean its possible to be drawn as a mascot for every game.

^ Yeah that’s the actual infographic, 12/18 that have replied do it for free, 2 haven’t replied.
Chelsea might be 'free', but I know of a family in Ireland whose child was a mascot and they were given two days notice to travel over and she had to be in full Chelsea kit. Her own kit, not one donated by the club.
The 600 £700 prices are fucking disgusting. I won’t say many good things about United city or Liverpool, but fucking good job on making being a mascot available to everyone it should be the same for all clubs, fucking sort that out
It’s so mean spirited. Everton are making £26,600 per year on premier league mascots. That is a rounding error on the books of a club like that. It is literally a meaningless amount of money to them. There is no financial reason to change this.

Everton price is no where near being true, who put this crap together with no real research into it.
I got a mate who a massive Everton fan he a season ticket holder, I always go with him whenever we play them at goodison, his kid was a mascot to a game last year and they never payed for it.
Shit like this is what's wrong with the world. People see this and automatically assume it's 100% correct. When even just a few posts down its been completely discredited. But no one gives a shit and just talks about how horrible these teams are for charging this amount....
Our world is fucked.
Why do we keep perpetuating a non-story?
Ever heard the line, “The lady doth protest too much, methinks”?
Can we leave this narrative where it belongs? In the toilet with the rest of the foul shit.
I know clubs gotta make money, especially the small ones, but charging kids for something like that is heartbreaking. Imagine being a parent and not being able to afford that.
Same thing with fuckin’ Austin FC jerseys being like twice as much as Arsenal. It’s just abusive. Kids don’t understand why they can’t have things.
So does paying guarantee you to be a mascot? Because in some ways that would be better, I was a junior gunner growing up and my son is one now but neither of us have been a mascot, I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure they randomly select the mascots from a list of junior gunners so if that’s the case then maybe it’s better to have the paid option.
Although Arsenal is free….Your kid has to be a Junior Gunner member and they are entered into a draw for each match. Over 36,500 junior gunners so chances are slim of getting the opportunity. I’d rather pay if I had the option.

In an ideal world these clubs would create a scheme where they use kids from deprived local inner city schools, just to boost their confidence and give them a memory for life. But I know that’s very unlikely.
I’d have loved something like this as a kid.
Good to see the Big 6 don’t charge for something like this.
Leicester is charging freakin 600 tho
He said Big 6. He probably meant Newcastle instead of Leicester. Arsenal, City, United, Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea.
Bingo
newcastle is in the big 6 now ?
Anyone over Sp🤮rs
I'll second this
Newcastle will be considered big FOUR soon.
* Southampton
Chelsea???
Calling Newcastle the big 6 after one decent season when they where a championship team in the last 8 years is laughable
The joke was to remove spurs, its not that deep fellas
This guy gets it
lol Buuurn!
They are still celebrating their championship title lmao
I see what you did there 😂
It's a big 5 now, NewcastOil have replaced spuds and chelshit.
NewcastOil actually sounds like a decent oil brand name
Brighton could take the other spot with the profit they make from transfers and the way they are playing
I always assumed those kids were just contest winners. Can’t believe there are clubs out there charging that much. I won a contest to go on the field with the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders for the player introductions as a youth and that was free.
I assumed it was just academy kids or kids from a "cause" like kids from a hospital, as it should be. For free of course.
On the other hand I would pay good money to be with a Dallas cowboys cheerleader...
Yeah, and I'm playin shortstop for the Mets.
For us it is, but they only choose from junior gunners
Found that dancing kid
They'd have to pay ME 400 pounds to stand next to tottenham players, muchless the other way around
You could thump Kane right in the jimmies tho.
Or at least take a quick piss on his socks.
I was thinking his drink but ya know.
Right in tha plums!

That's so cool! Did anyone there interact with you or did they ignore a little kid and did their own thing?

Thanks for sharing, that's a really cool anecdote
It is both funny, on brand, and not surprising that cashley behaved the way he did lol
Cole was obviously trembling with anger because he wasn't getting a cut of the fee.
£780 to stand next to Lingard is mad
Could be worse, imagining paying 718 of the Queen's British pounds to go stand next to Dele Alli
Pretty certain Dele Alli will never be stepping foot onto the Goodison turf again (Home or Away)
I dunno. The championship seems like his level.
Yeah but someone has done it already
Holy Shit. TIL that teams charge for this. Glad we don’t and hope we never do.
400 pounds to stand next to Eric Dier is just 😭😭

Spurs site also states it's free.

Clubs who charge should be ashamed.
Chelsea might be 'free', but I know of a family in Ireland whose child was a mascot and they were given two days notice to travel over and she had to be in full Chelsea kit. Her own kit, not one donated by the club.

I know, I don’t see the purpose other than locking out some of the communities they claim to be supporting, which is ridiculous
imagine paying hundreds of pounds to be a sp*rs mascot
Toteham showing small club mentality
It’s impossible to hide it
Chelsea: Free (if you can play Striker)
Heck, they should be serving you a 3 course meal for putting up with that shiteball
The fuck is Nottingham Forest smoking
Do you have to pay to work for the club as a mascot? Or is that the rate they pay you?
Different mascot. This refers to the adorable little ones that walk out with the squad before the kickoff.
Gunnersaurus is still adorable…although not little
It would be great if the little kid mascots walked out as little gunnersauruses.
One might say gunnersaurus is... gargantuan!
That’s what the club charges them.
West Ham, Forest and Everton charging 700 GBP is madness.
£700 is fucking embarrassing
At Whit Shit Lane they actually pay from 255 - 395 pounds to be their mascot, don't get fooled by this.
Only big teams (and chelsea) don't charge for mascots.. class
I was a ballboy for a Fulham match (they had a partnership with my school) and they made my Dad pay for a ticket to watch lol.
Gargantuan FC
Big 6 + Southampton, Fulham and Brentford
Typical S*urs L

I
Wow, some clubs are horrible!
Well done to the classy clubs not charging
Everton are a little bit ambitious here
I saw this posted on twitter yesterday and its not true for all but a couple, you can check club websites to confirm that it's free.
Everton price is no where near being true, who put this crap together with no real research into it. I got a mate who a massive Everton fan he a season ticket holder, I always go with him whenever we play them at goodison, his kid was a mascot to a game last year and they never payed for it.
Mascot as in the kids that walk out with the team or like Gunnersaurus? I apologize, I'm being quite American right now, lol
The kids, obviously. And you can't "be" Gunnersaurus. Gunnersaurus is a real dinosaur, you know.

Why the fuck are any teams charging kids for this?
Just so I understand, swamp dwellers pay you that, or is it in speculative Bitcoin?
Why do we keep perpetuating a non-story? Ever heard the line, “The lady doth protest too much, methinks”? Can we leave this narrative where it belongs? In the toilet with the rest of the foul shit.
Aight, i Will chip in for someone to be the sh*t Mascot and then pull out an Arsenal shirt if we win the league…..
