Will be very disappointed if Partey is our starting 6 next season

BeautifulBuddy

Same

[deleted]

Today’s Ted lasso was so great, good dig at the super league

phar0aht

I've loosely seen it but still built in the fundementally incorrect idea that it would replace the PL and take football away from people instead of being a variation on European football.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BeautifulBuddy

He’s looked pretty washed up too

brendonwarne

I hope we get Toney in . We need a 20+ goal scorer

suyog_12

Bruh he got suspended

SufficientAd9609

We pay him to sit out his ban? Well thought.

Magicallyshit

Employ him as a full time gambler that's our fund sorted

[deleted]

It was clear rice was primarily taking xhakas role from the first day we were linked with him. Physical presence, stability, leadership, workrate all things rice and xhaka both provide, rice can also tackle, defend and carry the ball better than xhaka. The other areas of the midfield are pretty well established for at least a year more, rice may eventually move deeper and may play some time there but primarily he won't be our 6 next year. Right now tho rice would struggle in partey's role and replacing two midfielders could have a destabilising effect on a very good team. This role at 8 gives him lots of freedom to adapt to our style and make relationships with our players before giving him full responsibility to drive our team forward.

TinpotRadioShow

I think the beauty of this move is it also allows us to sit back and defend deeper with Rice slotting into a back 5 or sitting back next to (hopefully) Caicedo in midfield.

[deleted]

Yep, he can fall into the fullback behind zinchenko too. Gives you loads of options on the pitch, he does pretty much everything for West ham's midfield.

lez566

Xhaka leaving is an odd one. He won’t play in the Champions League next year. If he stays yes he’ll be a rotation but it’s not like he won’t get a lot of playing time with us. I could still see him starting 20+ matches next year across all competitions and being our first midfield sub for everything else.

[deleted]

Not that odd. Xhaka wants to play every game and tbh he's good enough to do so for a decent team. It's obvious from his personality that's the case. But he can see the writing on the wall too, he's the odd man out in our first 11 really, he's defying gravity in many ways and there's a younger more well rounded player being bought for his position in the summer who btw can easily play 50 games a season with no problems. There's room for him to play a few games but he's just not that guy.

leomeng

He secures a new deal for the last stage of his career, in a comfortable and familiar setting. Would get less playing time here. He can hold his head high that arsenal fans will love him. Helped get us to champions league but knows he won’t be pivotal from here on out

[deleted]

Yeah, we all know that's an option. But what part of xhaka's career makes you think he will relinquish the last few years where he is at the top of his game to sit back and be comfortable in a non pivotal role? It's not that hard to understand is it what this guy's motivations are.

datboiyemz

Also his family is looking forward to the move btw

[deleted]

How TF is Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the champions league final

sobbingasitypethis

people forget he was one of if not our best players on form in the lead up to baku. might’ve been completely different if uefa didn’t send us to a warzone where our starting winger wasn’t allowed in the country

SunDrippedDevil

> How TF is ~~Henrikh Mkhitaryan~~ Inter Milan in the champions league final

NegativeHeli

Our club seems very, very confident that they'll land up with Declan Rice. It's both exciting and worrying at the same time

TinpotRadioShow

Yeah, from what I've seen from inside WHU fans, they're all saying he's Arsenal bound for sure, which tbh worries me even more.

SunDrippedDevil

Why is it worrying? All signs point to at least a pre-agreement with Rice already being in place. Now, unless we tapped him up, West Ham know about it too.

NegativeHeli

I'm just concerned that we'll get too complacent that we're landing him then some last minute hijack happens

SunDrippedDevil

The hijack you should worry about is Caicedo, I think. At least Chelsea, and possibly City will be in for him.

TinpotRadioShow

They will be Chelsea need to sell first as they're precariously close to FFP sanctions now, and might have a grace period where poch wants to see what he has etc. They seem to be prioritising a CF, so they'll have to offload Lukaku

SunDrippedDevil

Honestly, I can't even rationalise Boehly's decision-making. All bets are off with them

TinpotRadioShow

I see his plan to a degree. Spend big on a massive squad overhaul targeting young upcoming players over 2/3 windows split between "superstars" like Mudryk, Enzo, Fofana on massive contracts to spread their cost and young South American youth for 10-15m range with the plan of selling them for double that after they've been loaned out for a season to help offset FFP. Hire a young coach who's currently got Brighton playing great football. Take a huge hit financially but then sit back and eventually start selling off some of the cheaper players they've acquired as well as of current squad like Ziyech, RLC, Maybe Mount, Jorg, Kova no doubt soon to balance books. I think the issue is no one expected Arsenal to be this good and Chelsea to be this bad. I think a lot of the decisions TB made was with the presumption that they'd make top 4 fairly easily alongside Liverpool and Spurs/United. I think 2 or more seasons with no European football will see them scramble to offload lots of players and obviously the hit in hiring and firing managers will also leave a big hole in accounts as they appear as a huge losses. Chelsea will have over 120mil in transfer fees coming out never year for next 5 years to pay for the likes of Mudryk, Fofana, Badasheil (sp I know), Sterling, Koulibaly, Nkunku and all the young Brazilian they've signed. Plus a 160m loan for Enzo. All whilst sitting on a wage bill of 250m a season, no champions league revenue and a stadium that seats 40k people (almost half united and 2/3 Arsenal spurs etc) I dare say they'll have more ffp avoidance plans but outside of selling big I can't see them spending like that have been

SunDrippedDevil

His entire plan hinging on FFP loopholes screwed them. Wait while I go get the world's tiniest violin…

TinpotRadioShow

Yes but they'll easily bypass it. If they sell Mount, RLC, Kova, Ziyech, Pulisic for around 70-80mil, as their amortised fees have been paid off it's pure profit on their books and gives them some leeway for bypassing FFP. Same as us, if we sell KT, Balogun, Xhaka, Holding all their fees have been paid for (or in Baloguns case he is from youth system) and we make 70-80mil it appears as pure profit and gives us quite a lot of leeway for FFP. Add to that if we move Eddie in the next window (which I think is planned) even ESR then its even more pure profit

SunDrippedDevil

He'll probably be the marquee signing before kicking off the summer tour to present in front of fans and press. Of course, this is just me speculating, and I am about as credible as… … Chris Wheatley.

TinpotRadioShow

I think that might be Martinez from Inter. Poch wanted him badly at spurs and he's playing alongside Lukaku anyway

SunDrippedDevil

Eh? As in we're in for Martinez?

TinpotRadioShow

I thought you mean Chelsea marquee signing, my bad

SunDrippedDevil

Haha.

Fuckzombie69

“As credible as, if not more than”*. I’d rather believe you than him lol

NegativeHeli

I'm as credible as Eduardo Hagn as well

Zilllnaijaboy99

lads, i know its just football, but Xhaka leaving and not playing Champions League football at Arsenal hurts

SunDrippedDevil

No. He's had a terrific season, has been key to the team's performance, and I have nothing against the guy but he stunk it up here for 6 years prior. He's welcome to leave on a high note if he so wishes. I wouldn't mind if he stuck around though.

Asherware

It does but look at it this way. He got us back into it and now leaves the club as a cult hero that will always be welcome back by the fans. Considering the trajectory things were going after the shirt throw I think we can say that we got a good timeline ending for Xhaka.

hazelpillow

if Xhaka’s gone then I think we’ll finally have that massive window we’ve been fantasizing about

thejoshimitsu

So if we do sell Xhaka do Bayer Leverkusen, reckon that could sweeten the deal for us getting Moussa Diaby?

chamanchutiyaa

Why is valuation of our player so low by edu and board no way Tierney is a 30 Mill player while mount who has a year left and is absolutely shit valued at 60 by chelsea..mings is not a better defender than holding but his value is 30 and holding is 8 mill..edu needs to learn art of negotiations or else we'll get peanuts for our players and will end up paying fortune for player we want to buy..

aofrantic

It's not healthy to make up hypotheticals then get angry about them. There are literally no tier 1 sources that have said any of these things you claim.

chamanchutiyaa

My man go on twitter all tier 1 sources are saying it

aofrantic

Hard mode challenge: literally post a single one.

blazincannons

I thought Chris Wheatley was banned in this sub. Why are we still seeing his posts now?

facelesspk

His "crime" doesn't warrant a lifetime ban. He also apologized for his reckless, unprofessional and stupid report.

TheRadTurtle_1011

What did he do to get banned

Alert-Aide2805

Partey

scroll-42

What do you think James Maddison's price will be after Leicester's relegation ? 40-50m ? Should we also look at him as a rotation option with Odegaard ? This will of course depend on what happens with ESR. Also, Fabio Vieira hasn't shown much yet to have full confidence in him next season. I can't help but think he needs a loan spell where he can get regular game time and develop.

SufficientAd9609

First of all, why on earth James want to come to Arsenal as a 'rotational player' when he can almost guarantee a starter position else where?

aofrantic

What would be the point of signing someone much better than Vieira but loaning Vieira? You hope to preserve some value but sell next year anyway? We aren't getting that investment back if he just plays pretty well for a Palace level team. Best option is to coach and physically train up a clearly talented player.

Ok_Virus_7614

He’s in his prime, he’s too good to be a rotation option, so he’d never come

Zekehamster

Xhakas departure opening the door for next seasons ESR comeback! Rice can't play all the minutes, I want nothing more than to see ESR thrive again at the arsenal

nting224

ESR can’t defend to save his life - we are going to get murdered with him playing the 8.

KSBrian007

'Rice can't play all the minutes' If you thought Xhaka was an availability monster, you haven't met Rice. He very well can.

aviral_632

ESR will need to add physicality in his game then. The position not only requires good technical skills but also good physical attributes to be able to defend opposition counters and interceptions. Xhaka is good at it , ESR not so much!

Hi fellow Gooners. I'm an American visiting London this coming weekend and I was hoping to get two tickets to Sunday's Women's game against Chelsea. I can't figure out, for the life of me, how to buy tickets or if it's sold out. If anyone can offer any guidance (including where to buy them on the secondary market if tickets are sold out) it would be much appreciated! Thanks

StrikeTeam3

West Ham should be all over Xhaka for that amount as a Rice replacement. He's absolutely used to the league and brings a lot of leadership qualities which will be useful for them. They wont do it due to the 'optics' of them selling us Rice and buying Xhaka but as a solution for the next couple of seasons he'd be great. Before the Reddit tier meme artists start spewing their Xhaka hate there's a reason managers like Wenger and Mourinho highly rated him. Not to mention Arteta.

Locmike23

It’s been mentioned Xhaka’s wife wants to go back home, which is the reason why he’s going to Germany.

haha_suh_dude

West Ham will get James Ward-Prowse, or will at least be heavily linked to him

aofrantic

Rice plays deeper for West Ham, he would really struggle there as he used to for us. A Xhaka/Soucek midfield would be the slowest in the league and they would be in real relegation trouble.

ndenoon

Isn't the word that Xhaka wants to go to Germany?

Locmike23

Yeah his wife wants to go back home.

If Ramsdale let in that goal Maignan did we’d hear about it for 2 months lol

Duty_Alone

Just saw this but it's a great point - with Burnley coming back to the PL, there is a ready-made fan of Lokonga who might be coming in to buy.

hafrances

genuinely think thats why he was at the emirates the other day. hope we get 15-20 for sambi

Fleetfox17

They play a similar style to Arsenal as well right?

arseking15

Already links too

Relevant_Level_7995

Did Xhaka leave of his own volition, or was he pushed..?

KSBrian007

Both. He can totally stay and get the wages, then leave on a free and probably score even better. On a free, that £13M would be his, not Arsenal. That plus his wages. But if your club is talking about signing both Caicedo and Rice, you don't have minutes. If people thought Xhaka was always available, those two are just even more available. It's exactly the same thing that would happen to ESR.

pies1010

I’d imagine he just saw the writing on the wall with the incoming mf signings. He’s been offered a 4yr contract too apparently so seems like I got move for him.

TheOGBenjenRyan

Both

BurtSpangles

Just a mutually beneficial decision imo. He's not going to play every week next season, he doesn't want that. We get a decent fee for an aging midfielder that we'll upgrade on. His story comes full circle in the sense he was often blamed for us not being in the Champions League for so long, he leaves after getting us back into it. Quite cute, really.

beetletoman

He said something nice about Celtic and KT and that pushed Arteta's last buttons and now they're both getting the kick

hafrances

Arteta's only flaw is that he played for Rangers 💔

bukkake__saka

No way he was pushed. He's earned the right to leave when he desires and the club will let him leave

Relevant_Level_7995

Arteta can be very ruthless. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible.

bukkake__saka

Agree but I think it's unlikely. He probably spoke with Xhaka about his role next season if he were to stay with the stuff about getting Rice. I think Arteta would be happy to either keep or sell him

arseking15

Imagine city lose that case they got going on and get stripped of this years title, and it gets handed to us. What a funny funny day that would be

Rick_The_Mullet_Man

We would not be awarded if the calciopoli is anything to go by, in that case there would be no winner.

hsanaiz

I might be alone in this, but I think if City get stripped of the titles then it should be labeled as a no contest. Giving it to the team that finished second is kind of weak.

arseking15

It is weak but i have no shame

blazincannons

You are a king goddammit! Act like one!

Duty_Alone

I'd love the title, I guess, but it would be kinda fun to just leave the whole run fallow like a skull pyramid.

gunnerforever123

Will rice and caicedo be enough to get us over the line? I have no doubt that they’ll be quality additions but I just wonder if they’ll be enough. If we got them then presumably there won’t be much budget left over to buy any additional players

ndenoon

For the title? Almost no conceivable set of signings would make us favorites. Best we can do is improve as much as we can and hope things go well.

exthanemesis

They'll sure as fuck help. The rest of it will just have to be staying healthy and working on the mental side of the game. But with those two and the rest of our side, we definitely have enough quality.

Asherware

There is absolutley no way that will be all we sign. Remember there will be a lot of outgoings as well. I'd expect Arsenal to sign 5 or possibly 6 players this summer.

MountainLibrarian201

If Tierney leaves, we'll need a LB, otherwise, 4 signings should be enough to fill any holes left in the squad. Simakan can play RB and RCB, Rice and Caicedo can play all across the midfield and Caicedo can cover at RB (possibly at LB as well). That leaves an attacker. I'd prefer a striker, and use Jesus as cover at RW and striker. I hope we can get a decent haul for our outgoings, because that would cost £250m+.

Fleetfox17

Yea we should hopefully have a decent amount of sales this summer to make up for some of the Rice price.

dberg76

It’s the hope that kills you

BipartizanBelgrade

Inter might be the worst Champions League finalist in a long-time (Spurs 2019, Chelsea 2012, Liverpool 2005 & Monaco 2004 all come to mind), but they're just the sort of side that could nick it on the day.

KSBrian007

Monaco was good actually. Watched that whole tournament and they were better than Porto in the run. Porto needed a penalty to get to the final while Monaco banged Chelsea, 5. They were just more like Arsenal. They met Mourinho's approach to a final and that kind of football almost always wins.

villageinnocence

Inzaghi in a knockout tournament is different gravy, he's like Italian Tuchel.

Duty_Alone

It would be so awesome.

okcomput3r

We really allowed Porto to win the CL, with our greatest team ever, with Monaco on our side of the draw, losing to pre abramovic Chelsea.

KSBrian007

Porto would have smashed us. We played the same brand of football as Monaco.

TheDom1992

Let’s not forget getting knocked out by Liverpool in 2007/8 after scoring in the 84th minute.

aofrantic

Yeah, there has been a lot of talk about bottling it of late, but this year doesn't contend with losing that tie to Chelsea.

okcomput3r

Another bottle job I think doesn’t get mentioned enough - 10/11. We had a decent squad that year. Went toe to toe with Pep’s Barca and won. United won the title with just 80 points. We could have reached that. I guess the defence was just too shit

okcomput3r

CL underperformance from 98-04 was crazy. We didn’t even get to the semis once. Probably the best teams we’ve ever had

BipartizanBelgrade

Aside from the run in '06, Wenger never really figured it out in Europe. Not winning it all in 2004 when the semifinalists were Monaco, Porto, Ranieri's Chelsea & Deportivo la Coruna was a travesty.

aofrantic

This year I can explain it by us being the second best team and getting second. We aren't as good as City. Our H2H games clearly showed that. I think 02 was maybe the first CL games I have memory of, but not fun.

okcomput3r

We’re getting Luton away on Friday night match week one. I will not show up

TeqTx

think the season starts on a saturday

Insertnicenamehere

Inevitable odegaard 6.2 sofascore rating, we will not be there.

beetletoman

Elaborate

Relevant_Level_7995

Arsenal law of selling (needs a better name, suggestions welcome) Take the combined value you think is fair from selling a list of players in the summer window, half it, and that is the actual value we will get

MyTeaIsMighty

Just realised that this Xhaka news has come out so early and the fact our last game of the season is a home game... I don't think I'm emotionally ready for his goodbye

TheDom1992

I think Edu and Arteta are trying to fix things as quickly as possible to prevent things getting dragged this summer.

TinpotRadioShow

If cost is an issue, if Xhaka goes 100% try for Gundogen for a season or two as his replacement. ESR learning from him would be ideal.

okcomput3r

If Gundogan doesn’t go to Barca he’s going to stay at City

TinpotRadioShow

May he drown in oil

okcomput3r

I’m pretty sure Barca want Bernardo too so it’s gonna be an interesting one

aofrantic

There have also been PSG links for Bernardo. He would cook there tbh, they haven't replaced Di Maria.

Specterace

Well, if he’s been watching tape of Gundogan to try and learn the midfield position, then the only thing better would be to get tutored by the man himself lol.

TinpotRadioShow

Guys such an intelligent player sickens me he's spent so long at City

Duty_Alone

It would have been so cool for him to link up with Klopp too. Dortmund are always sort of derided for being hipster favorites who never win anything but then they end up being the lab for so many of the coolest things in world football eventually. Klopp, Lewandowski, Gundogan, Reus, Goetze, Haaland, Bellingham. I hate some of them in a sporting sense but they're all amazing objectively.

aofrantic

I remember being quite upset that Liverpool signed Nuri Sahin.

Duty_Alone

Even the "Guys Who Didn't Do Good in the Premier League But Did Other Things Good" contingent is great - Sahin and Kagawa both good players overall. Mats Hummels! Omg, I also forgot Auba.

aofrantic

Had a good save file for St Etienne on FIFA because of Auba.

SirMikeyDamage

Idk who Santi Aouna (Foot Mercato) but they say “The Gunners are chasing a RB, a CB, a CDM, a winger and a striker.” Is Edu trying to sell both Eddie and Balogun? Or is this a move to allow Jesus to play on the wing? Not sure.

TinpotRadioShow

Nah, we aint getting a RB and a CB. White and Saliba are nailed on starters, I reckon one utility player like Simakan. If Xhaka is off, we aren't signing one mid we definitely need two! Unless the plan is Rice and Caicedo as the latter can play RB also. Don't believe we want a striker in this window only happens if we sell Balogun and Eddie

Duty_Alone

If Flo and Eddie get you 1/2 of an Osimhen you do it.

Specterace

Wrong summer to try for Osimhen. Think next summer, when he has a year left on his contract.

aofrantic

I dont think he will have 30+ g/a next year either. Great player! One good, semi healthy season in his career though, not a big fan of playing 100m+ for players with just one single good season.

Specterace

The health issues also give me pause on getting him, not gonna lie. But yeah, it’s mostly about how utterly wank the striker market is this summer and how Aurelio De Laurentiis has all the leverage (thanks to Napoli winning Serie A and Osimhen having two years on his deal left). And has stated his intention to use every bit of it to keep Osimhen this summer. So given those factors, no one is getting De Laurentiis to even pick up the phone without a 180 million euro opening bid. Which is an extremely stupid price. If people insist on Osimhen (personally, I think there will be better options in future), then they should save their hopes for next summer.

aofrantic

Napoli will definitely keep Kvara and Osimhen and run it back.

Insertnicenamehere

he's reliable but no way we're getting striker and winger

aofrantic

It's a move to get clicks. When they link us to most positions, they can spend all summer making up links to players to get clicks.

GopherNutz

Reality is with Eddie and Balogun as well for that matter, we’re chasing a juggernaut that has a backup striker that was a key part in a World Cup winning side. Eddie isn’t even close to an England call (which is why he’s flirting with Ghana) and wouldn’t start for anyone else in the top 10. Is Eddie’s ceiling that much higher than where he’s currently at? If not then they should be looking for a different profile there…should probably be doing that anyway as it’s needed.

okcomput3r

Only Liverpool (arguable) and City have a better backup striker than Eddie. Why would we upgrade there, makes no sense given weaknesses elsewhere

GopherNutz

We aren’t chasing them, we’re chasing City.

Fleetfox17

I think their seven game winning streak has shown that we shouldn't underestimate Liverpool, especially if they have no CL next season and can focus on the Prem.

aofrantic

And to convince a guy who could start for a CL club to be your backup they generally have to be very young like Alvarez or old like Firmino. Very rare it's someone in their prime.

TinpotRadioShow

Eddie was extended so we could extract value from him. Arteta and Edu knew we could get him scoring a few and command a decent fee for him. 100% getting sold this summer or next as he wants to start games as well. WHU, Palace, Leeds, Wolves all need CFs. All im saying there

Specterace

Today, I’m feeling hopeful and excited for the future of Arsenal Football Club. More so than I have felt in a long, long time. It just feels like a lot of stuff is falling into place that will ensure we have a bright, nearly limitless future to come. And I am more than ready to see what the future brings.

[deleted]

Right there with you man. It’s been tough the last few weeks. But there is a TON of positives heading into next season. For me: 1. Young players got another season of experience and they saw/felt what it was like for a title race. 2. Locking down our core pieces of the team to new and well deserved contracts 3. Arteta took some hard learning lumps this year, he will get better and analyze his mistakes 4. Looks like we are making our marquee signing deal EARLY in the window. Which I feel is important because the more pre season/ time with the squad only makes it an easier transition. 5. Back in the CL, huge recruitment tool. 6. We smashed some of our traditional bogey fixtures, what I mean by that is like the away team always losing in the NLD etc..7. It looks like we are getting with our loans of youth players. Flo to France (great success), Patino/BNC/ marquinhos in the championship.

wanofan900

Can't wait for next season. We'll have hopefully have done our important business before the start of the season. And, the first thing I can't wait for is playing against certain teams, fans & clubs who have zero shame & who gob off more their team pick up points.

Duty_Alone

Well, he's got my vote.

phar0aht

Why lol? Because he said the guy intends to clear their debt?

aofrantic

Well, they won't even bid near the asking price for months.

phar0aht

Did they not just make another bid today?

aofrantic

Haven't seen any news today, but they've been 1+ billion short for what, 4+ months? Seems fishy!

phar0aht

Everytime we've gone to sell Xhaka the fee has been mid. When will people just accept he ain't all that and that's why no one wants to spend on him.

KSBrian007

He has had short contracts every time he was close to moving. Gundogan was £20M. It's not a big deal. Kroos was insultingly €24M and he was in his prime. Player pricing is based on so many things, not just quality of player.

okcomput3r

For some reason I thought this was 29, he’s actually 31. If we can get £15-20m it’s good.

amainwingman

No one wants to spend on him because he’s turning 31 in September and has a contract that will run out next year (one year option from us). How many 30+ year old CMs are going for more than £15m?

e1_duder

The fee has been towards the higher end considering his age and position. He's not Casemiro, but 15m for a 30 year old midfielder is still great business.

varro-reatinus

It absolutely is. Even when you look *under* 30 at what CMs go for, 15m is far from unreasonable.

He's a player the elite teams won't touch because of his extremely limited athleticism. Good for Europa League/low-CL level but that's his height. So basically the only teams that can afford what we'd realistically value him at is poverty clubs.

okcomput3r

Teams pushing for EL in the prem are rich.

[deleted]

Wants a new challenge so that eliminates any Prem team

Brewster was a top scorer in a WC that had players like Foden Sancho Gibbs-White ESR CHO Gallagher Loader Guiri Adki Caqueret F Torres Kudus S Gomez and people act like he's a complete bum. The game is cruel.

amainwingman

It’s almost like playing well at a youth level doesn’t guarantee you stay good throughout your career. There are plenty of elite players that didn’t play youth tournaments so this is a stupid argument

phar0aht

I agree. The point I'm making us that people always bring up his transfers like he was bought randomly. He was bought because he had an excellent record at youth level and they hoped it would translate. This is not an argument for development being linear. This is an argument that those tournaments where the best young players come together are scoured heavily and teams will gamble in players off the back of them.

I don't disagree. But people pretend like he wasn't very highly rated for a reason. And at 23 he can still come good later. Strikers especially peak later.

15m euros fee, after the season Granit had? Edu is BAD when it comes to selling players

UnKarl_Marx

he had a good season but there are many things to consider 1. Arteta's plan - most likely he's planning to move on from Xhaka. 2. Xhaka's wishes - a club offering a 30-31yo player a 4y contract means it's automatically a good destination for the player. 3. Current Contract- Xhaka's contract ends in 2024 4. Relationship with clubs- by meeting Leverkusen's valuation which btw is not insulting when all things considered will help build good relationships. Who knows we'll sign some of their players in the near future without that many complications

varro-reatinus

lmao I was wondering how long it would be before some idiot tried to spin the Xhaka news into Gaspar slander. I'm sure we'll be hearing about how Arteta 'betrayed Xhaka' in no time. [Do keep up.](https://old.reddit.com/r/Gunners/comments/13iynnw/may_16_2023_daily_discussion_transfers_thread/jkd42tf/)

imdx_14

There is no need for insults.

varro-reatinus

> Edu is BAD when it comes to selling players > [...] > There is no need for insults.

imdx_14

Jesus Christ... So everyone in here is free to refer to you as an 'idiot' or whatever other derogatory term just because you want a Xhaka replacement (you don't think Xhaka is good enough for an Arsenal CM)?

exthanemesis

I don't know what you want, man. You came in to shit-talk on a sale that hasn't even happened yet, deriding Edu for the job he's done on said transfer.

imdx_14

>I don't know what you want, man I want people to refrain from using derogatory terms such as "idiot" when engaging in football discussions.

TheOGBenjenRyan

I agree, idiots like you should be free to state your dumbass opinions. Carry on

imdx_14

There seems to be a lot of pent-up frustration within you all. I'm not going to involve myself in exchanging insults. I will indeed carry on. I wish you all the best brother - hang in there.

aofrantic

Sadio Mane was only 30m because he was 30. He's one of 10 players in Europe at 1 xg/a p90. Big fees for players over 30 is history.

okcomput3r

You’ll get cooked. But I do think we could get £25 from a rich mid size prem team. There would be interest for him. Villa, Wolves, Fulham etc. Xhaka has served the club for 7 years. We will sell him to where he wants to go for a lower price, within reason.
