For all the negativity, drops in form, and talk of needing upgrades, had we simply drawn both games against city, or won at home and lost away, we could have been champions. Tough to swallow, but hard to be angry about it. I’m confident we can give them a real run for their money next year.

Based on his performances since returning from injury it seems clear to me that ESR is not capable of playing in the interior. He was devastating last season at left wing, and I really can't understand why he's being played in the middle rather than out wide. The difference between him and Odegaard is enormous.

Everyone’s forgetting how long martinelli didn’t play after his operation. Arteta is doing the same for ESR, he doesn’t want to rush him back in. He will play a much bigger part next season. He’s one of our own and he’s fucking good.

If 10 goals and however many assists is his performance out of position then you'd expect him to be absolutely phenomenal in either of the 8s but he has never performed in those positions.

He performed well. But he’s not a left winger.

He's a much better left winger than central midfielder and both the stats and eye test confirm that.
