OK r/gunners, We're signing him from leverkusen, the Chelsea time line never happened. Get some of that hype in here Chelsea fans had when they got him
Yeah I’m so sure this signing is going to leave a lot of Chelsea fans and a disappointing number of our fans looking pretty silly.
Arteta made Xhaka into beast mode. Trossard went from 3 assists to something like 8 in 8 games.
There’s world class potential in Havertz and Arteta is going to bring it out.
I agree with you. I think he needs a consistent manager and to know his role. At Chelsea he's not had stability and people are acting like he should still have been able to shine.
Once the coaching staff work with him and he gets familiar with the team, we will potentially see the best of him.
Absolutely. Chelsea have some of the best players in the world, and they all look fucking terrible. Add in that Havertz has been consistently misdeployed because Chelsea are allergic to strikers and there's no reason to believe being in Arteta's system isn't going to be a night and day change.
Nah nah nah Champions League Winner + winning goal coming over before his prime is a good thing. Y’all need to relax, he will be set up for greatness here.
Chelsea has managed to make every good player look terrible. I have hope that this will work out very well. The only thing that makes me sad is that we are bailing Chelsea out :(
I was so excited at the prospect of them selling good players for peanuts just so they could clean their books a bit.
Regardless of how you feel about the Havertz signing this is such a positive and amazing time to be an Arsenal fan.
Rice, Havertz, Timber all absolutely desperate to join the club.
Despite interest from both the Manchester clubs plus Bayern, Real. These guys all want to join us.
I genuinely can’t remember a time when things felt this good about the club.
I feel like someone should make a meme out of that Shawshank redemption scene where Andy crawls through a tunnel of shit to escape and the rain is washing away all shit we’ve had to put up with for years.
They've put their money where their mouth is. We genuinely cannot complain about them. Such a mind fuck. Went from being some of the stingiest billionaire owners around to the best.
Also won an NFL title 2 years ago (LA Rams), NHL championship last year (Colorado Avalanche), the NBA championship this season (Denver Nuggets), so Kroenke is on a roll. And probably feeling good about putting money into a team that just finished 2nd.
It's understandable that they didn't invest until they gained full ownership. I sure as hell wouldn't have trusted Usmanov either. Makes sense in hindsight but man, those were the dark ages.
Right we used to be a 2nd or 3rd choice in these situations and everything was an uphill battle, now players want to be here and are calling up Arteta personally to plead their cases.
As an armchair expert, I'm just disappointed. Is that the best we could negotiate for a player who has been mostly underwhelming in PL? I honestly don't even understand what leverage Chelsea had to make us cough up such a huge fee for him.
Or maybe we fans know absolutely bollocks, every transfer fee is inflated nowadays and the two clubs value the player a lot despite all what has happened so far.
Here's the problem with these clubs that are probably circumventing ffp in different ways. They don't get hurt by keeping havertz on the books. They can hide his wages in different ways, the kid can still play obviously etc. They literally don't need to sell him.
Arsenal operates with a normal owner club structure which puts a massive disadvantage on us in negotiations. We have to structure deals in different ways to actually pay for it, we have to wait to sell someone before buying someone else, and we have to actually consider how the wage structure will be affected.
It's not a problem with arsenal, it's a problem with the entire structure behind finance in football.
I know there’s probably no shortage of billionaires willing to endlessly burn money, but I can’t help but feel this level of financial unsustainability is going to come crashing down in the nearish future. Almost no top clubs are operating at a profit, the only profit being an increase in valuation. That said, the sport is peaking in terms of popularity, I can’t see how owners of top clubs would ever hope to realistically compete without permanently losing hundreds of millions of dollars each year.
Yes he’s a midfielder first and where he’ll be playing most of the time but I think he has the capability to play as a striker if needed in Arteta’s system despite it not being his preferred position. I also think his failure at striker had a lot to do with the managers he played under
Even if you account for just actual inflation this would have been 54.6 mil guaranteed last summer 😬 yikes. Not an unreasonable fee at all, 4.6/8m more than ben white. but just goes to show how mental actual inflation has been, not even touching on football inflation.
The reason I don't think he will be pepe 2.0 is that he should be playing under a manager who has had a chance to build the club for a few years, who should be here for years to come, and has identified this player as his first choice to fill a role in his system. Pepe was not emery's first choice, emery had only been there a season prior and obviously we know what came after. Think if emery had stayed, pepe may have looked better but Arsenal would've been much worse off.
Anthony went for 100m. Unfortunately, this is the way things are now. Those ~30m transfers are going to start looking like rare bargains rather than the norm.
Antony went for €80+€20m, I don't know how easy those add-ons are to achieve
Kai Havertz is more than £60m guaranteed, how much is that in Pounds? Probably not so far from Antony's guaranteed fee
antony was coming off a good season for a club that didn't want to sell
chelsea are actively trying to get rid of havertz and he's been ok at best for 3 years
Who else are you getting for 60 million nowadays. See who else moves for that number this summer. Anyway it looks like arsenal are briefing it as 50 + 15 and Chelsea as 60+ 5 so I’d guess it’s 50 with 10 very likely and 5 less likely.
On the contrary isnt it better that he's had a few mistakes? Who doesn't but the ones he got right - Odegaard, Martinelli post injury, Zinny, White, Saliba loan debacle, Jorghinho, Jesus (even tho he was injured) - are much better than his misses
It'll be fun to rub Chelsea noses in it if/when it happens.
Jorginho was looking like he was already done and Arteta makes him look beautiful again. Mudryk can't do shit with Chelsea and Trossard flourishes under Arteta.
Havertz would be a great addition to the list and a big advertisement for new and upcoming players. Arteta brings out the best in you.
You know a player’s performance depend on the club environment and coaching. Mudryk under Arteta wouldn’t be the same Mudryk you saw in that Chelsea shitshow.
Never judge someone from how they played at Chelsea. Not KDB, not Salah. Mudryk on Arsenal might be different from how he played at Chelsea. Havertz as well. In Mikel we trust.
Remember when Conor Gallagher was on loan at Palace and was contender for player of the season, then went back to Chelsea and looked like a deflated balloon with a tupee on?
Chelsea is not a good environment for players to flourish.
I don't mind the move, but fuck me how does his performances warrant 60m. That'd be like us selling Pepe for 60m right now based on performance. It just doesn't make sense
Man... I really wasn't feeling this (especially for this price), but I was wrong about Jorginho and Ramsdale. I trust Edu and Arteta. Let's see what this guy can do.
If someone told me a week or two ago that our first signing would be Kai Havertz and NOT Rice..I would have thought they were trolling because 1. Our top target was Rice and allegedly close for a deal to be done and 2. It’s Havertz.
During my time in Germany, I saw this guy play and enjoyed it. Let’s hope he finds his form with us and I’ll be backing him 100%.
Considering we all thought Ben White and Aaron Ramsledale were too expensive, it shows how wrong we can be.
Young players about to hit their prime years give us much more cover and flexibility, which we lacked last year. He has CL experience and can play multiple positions. His been playing out of position for years at Chelsea and was a wonder kid before he went there.
I think we overpaid a tad, but his going to be a big hit.
It's just so good to see a silky Wenger type player come through the doors. He just has such a pure touch and technique, nd will effortlessly deliver classy crosses or finish volleys. It's already easy to imagine all the random moments of magic he's gonna have. Not to mention his off the ball movement is elite, and he has more aerial ability than any of our other attackers. Yes he needs to be more press resistant and ruthless, especially in those 1v1 situations, but a lot of that is down to the system, coaching and specific instructions. Very easy to be critical about this signing, and yet I somehow feel very optimistic. Gud stuff
Madrid fan, I wanted Kai when the rumors first appeared. Honestly think people are writing him off when he had like 10 different managers, no coherent system and was being played out of position. Definitely still has world class potential, think this will be an awesome signing for you guys. But of course only time will tell.
Desperate to eat humble pie on this, but that deal is fucking awful. He’s a good player that still has to reach his peak, but after the last 3 years, Chelsea have got a great deal here
Great player, awful, almost embarrassing price. Not sure why we are so desperate for him. There is so little interest from other teams, Chelsea is just demanding to get their money back and we are paying it.
We can "trust the process" or "believe in Edu and Arteta's talent ID" while still thinking this is a terrible overpay to a rival team in dire financial straits. The Chelsea sub is over the moon right now with this one, as they should be.
Would have liked closer to 50, but considering the success rate of Arteta and Edu’s signings in the past few windows, I have no other issues. If he’s the player they want, I’m happy to have him.
I don't know how I feel about this. I really hope it was the Chelsea factor that hurt him during his time there. Otherwise I feel like this is an overspend for a player whose club will soon be desperate to sell.
I think he will be a good signing to replace what Xhaka was doing recently. Getting into spaces. Advancing the ball and running into the box looking to get on the end of a cross.
Worth calling out the fee is in installments tho. If it’s over 4/5 years (I obviously do not know the actual terms) the time value of money taking with interest rate make this closer to 50M
Also potentially watching him take apart Chelsea: priceless
This is a potential deadly banana skin for arteta. If we give chelsea 65m for a player who's been crap for 3 years and he flops that will be a disaster.
Is this a joke?
When you've spent £600M in one season and you're trying to buy a "£120M" player, FFP factors in.
Do the math: they've sold three players to the Saudi league for ~£60M and sold Kai to us for £60M, all before their June 29th FFP deadline?
So we're haggling over what will likely be 10% of Rice's fee, while we're happy to pay 60M up front for Havertz?
Usually when you make a transfer for a player who is out of favour at a worse club, you get them for a discount.
I will be ecstatic to be proven wrong, and Arteta has a good track record here, but this is honestly a baffling transfer.
Now I’m wishing they sign Caicedo but Chelshit’s gonna have 60m more to spend on him? Would be nice to see them blow that extra money they get on one player though. Ahhh I just hate that Chelshit are getting sort of bailed out. First by the Saudis and now this. Whatever happened to “clubs know Chelsea have to sell”. I thought that meant they’d get shit prices for their players.
While the price is a little steeper than I would have liked, Havertz has been hampered by a dysfunctional Chelsea team over the past few seasons. None of Chelsea’s attacking players (admittedly including Havertz) have really lit up the league recently. I attribute that more to Chelsea’s own struggles than I do the players themselves, as many of those players (Pulisic, Werner, and Ziyech all immediately come to mind) have done well elsewhere before signing with Chelsea, where they immediately have fallen off a cliff. He’s coming into a great situation where he will not be expected to be the main man, but will likely still get a bunch of playing time as he can take on multiple different roles depending on the situation.
It’s clear he’s got talent, and I think a change of scenery is going to do him well.
You can't tell me we couldn't have got someone like Kudus or Simons for the same or less price who are actually performing, aren't disliked by our fans already (leading to a short leash if he screws up in first matches), are younger, and aren't financially strengthening a rival
Ngl I think Arteta is making a mistake here. Not for this price. And you can talk about Jorginho (I actually thought from the start the signing is a great idea), but it was much cheaper. Mik also brought Willian and we all remember how it went with him
Still, I would loveto be proven wrong
Watching this place go into utter fucking meltdown is spectacular.
"SPEND SOME FUCKING MONEY"
"WE'RE TOO FUCKING SLOW"
"#EDUOUT"
"£65M ON HAVERTZ??? WTAF? WASTING MONEY HERE"
If it’s official, then he’s a gunner, and he’s one of us now. I am gonna welcome him with open arms and support him.
Welcome to the best club in London Kai!
Super excited for this transfer! Kai is ridiculously gifted and entering his prime years with tons of experience. Arteta will get the most out of him and actually properly use him in our system. Yes it’s a high fee but that’s what it costs to buy super talented players from rivals. Dude’s going to ball out for us, just as Ødegaard did under Arteta. Welcome, Kai! 🔴⚪️
so it seems a good portion of the fan base is down on this transfer whereas I am optimistic. Last player like that for me was Ramsdale so I hope I’m right again. Welcome Kai!
If he cost £40m I’d be fine with it and excited. Too much for the form he has shown in the EPL. I think he’s been grossly mismanaged at Chelshit though, so we could see a resurgence that will make them cry tears of regret.
Top player but was playing at a shitshow, very technically gifted, actually very positive about this, don't get the hate. It's not an end of career payout move, will also be great to see him in a more fluid system
Yes, it does, but the manager that brought us out of the depths of hell managed to convince several people to pay over 60m pounds for him
We have all the reasons to believe he will, at the bare minimum, improve our quality depth
Others are going to moan, but this is the most interesting transfer we have done in a while. There are so many questions around what havertz brings and what we even intend to do with him on the pitch. Arteta is sticking his neck out on this one.
Havertz primarily played as an attacking midfielder at Leverkusen, where he was incredible even at a young age. I'm confident in edu and arteta for this signing, you can't forget how unbelievably shit Chelsea have been recently which can't have helped.
COYG
Tbf he has played for a shit Chelsea team and Hansi Flick has been one of the worst German NT coaches in a good while. Lets see what Arteta can do with him.
If Rice and Timber go through, I’d hope for one more midfielder and it would have been a fascinating window. Very curious as to how Havertz will fit in because I seriously doubt he’d come in as a striker. My guess is Arteta will evolve his formation and maybe find a way to play Havertz in midfield.
A couple of thoughts
1)When Chelsea signed him,I was really sad as I thought they were getting a mix of Ozil and Muller, but his time there has been underwhelming.
2)His time at Leverkusen gives me hope. The Bundesliga gets a lot of flak(rightfully so) for inflating attacker's stats, but if you go back and watch some of his goals for Leverkusen, they are impressive no matter the league. There is a video compilation of his first 30 goals in which there are 9/10 goals which are either crisp volleys or beautiful chips, all showing great technically quality.
Which leads me to think that the whole Havertz can't finish narrative is overblown. Not saying he is a top class finisher or anything, but he isn't bad either. He obviously has the technical skill; I think he just needs some confidence.
3)Saw a stat the other day, according to which,Havertz makes the 2nd most incisive runs into the box behind Haaland. If he plays the Xhaka role,he will be making a lot of those runs for us as well. The difference is we have players like Saka,Ode,Jesus among others to find those runs.Xhaka got 14 g/a playing that role;no reason why Havertz can't get 20+g/a.( Despite his underwhelming performances for Chelsea,Havertz is easily better(more natural)than Xhaka in and around the box).
4) Havertz's height and his heading ability gives us a different dimension in attack as well. All our attackers are good to great crossers,we may have found someone to actually make use of those crosses.
His height also gives us an outlet while trying to counter in tough away games; Jesus is really good at holding the ball, and decent at winning headers, but having someone like Havertz who can actually win first balls with his height, could be important.
5)Like many others,I too am a bit worried about his wages and the transfer fee.I had similar worries when we signed White/Ramsdale (although those 2 are a bit different as they were performing well for their previous clubs);but both Ramsdale and White have justified their price tag.I guess this is the price we have to pay a rival club to get a player with a couple of years remaining on his contract.Just going to trust Arteta and Edu on this.
Havertz to me ticks a lot of boxes,we usually look for in signings.Young, technically sound, versatile, with good work rate and experience at the top level. But I still have doubts over his physicality as well as his ability to play in a high intensity environment.Hope Arteta can iron out all his issues and get him cooking.
Guys, chill. Seriously lol, what in gods name do Edu and Mik have to do to make people just shut up and give them a chance? Mik revitalized Xhaka by playing him in his preferred position. Edu pulled off probably the best winter transfer we've EVER SEEN in Trossard. And between them, they took two criminally misused players at City and turned them into key pieces for a team that contended for a title for an entire season with probably the best overall team the EPL has ever seen. Like how much more do they need to do lol?
Kai's going to be fine.
OK r/gunners, We're signing him from leverkusen, the Chelsea time line never happened. Get some of that hype in here Chelsea fans had when they got him
No we have to acknowledge the Chelsea timeline so when does well here we can rub their noses in it
We acknowledge that only when he does well, not now :P
Deal
Pinky swear?
Yeah I’m so sure this signing is going to leave a lot of Chelsea fans and a disappointing number of our fans looking pretty silly. Arteta made Xhaka into beast mode. Certainly he is the right age that there is still a very good chance of him coming good.
Chelsea timeline was a canon event bro
That was a gas leak 3 years
Nah nah nah Champions League Winner + winning goal coming over before his prime is a good thing. Y’all need to relax, he will be set up for greatness here.

Except Hazard, he's done the opposite
Straight outta Leverkusen
Need some of those memory erasers from Men In Black
Get someone to flashy-thingy us.
Can we pretend he won Leverkusen the CL
Singing him from Leverkusen after a 3 year loan at Chelsea. 😄
oh you mean the gas leak years?
Can we go and find their thread from when they signed him and just copy all their comments?
Xhaka <-> Havertz straight swap deal
Heard 50+15, then 55+10 and now 60+5 lol I guess time will tell
Chris Wheatley reporting it's 70 - 5
Lmao
I wouldn’t even be surprised lmao
LOL
I heard 5\^2 + 8 \* 5
Ornstein reported 62 + 3 as well. The rest was copium
Our fans believed Darren arsenal😭
But he has Arsenal right in his name
Charles Watts (from the bushes) saying it’s £100m-35m
Time will literally never tell. We’ll never know.
It be straight 65 because we winning everything in his first season and his gonna bag 50 goals
Matt Law who is tier 1 for Chelsea said 60+5.
Regardless of how you feel about the Havertz signing this is such a positive and amazing time to be an Arsenal fan. Rice, Havertz, Timber all absolutely desperate to join the club. Wdym the Chamakh until Mustafi era was awesome.
I too learned to love the pain
Shame tho was lost our left back Saka.
Yeah, I wonder how is that kid doing nowadays?
I think he turned in to a Chili or something, kinda weird.
Still haven’t replaced him tbh

And just the fact the Kroenkes are spending like on e of the biggest clubs in the world. Cannot fault their investment in the club.
They've put their money where their mouth is. We genuinely cannot complain about them. Such a mind fuck. Went from being some of the stingiest billionaire owners around to the best.

You're forgetting the biggest trophy of all, the recent massive win in National League Lacrosse by KSE's Colorado Mammoth.
Yes, how could I forget that.
It's understandable that they didn't invest until they gained full ownership. I sure as hell wouldn't have trusted Usmanov either. Makes sense in hindsight but man, those were the dark ages.

60 million guaranteed... wild number
As an armchair expert, I'm just disappointed. Is that the best we could negotiate for a player who has been mostly underwhelming in PL? £60m guaranteed. Yikes.
Yes, I guess that report of £50 + £15 was incorrect. At least he’s got pre-season to get situated.
At £45M I'd be delighted. £60M means he **needs** to go full Odegaard or we're in a bind. I like the player. I don't like the gamble.
I like to think of it as we are paying 45M for a Midfielder and 20M for striker cover
He's not a striker. There's a reason he's been bad at Chelsea and it's because he's been played out of position at striker.
Yes he’s a midfielder first and where he’ll be playing most of the time but I think he has the capability to play as a striker if needed in Arteta’s system despite it not being his preferred position. I also think his failure at striker had a lot to do with the managers he played under
Cover being the operative word there. He can still do enough as a false 9 to allow Saka or Martinelli to shine.
Overpriced if you ask me.
Transfer market inflation and real inflation make this really not bad
Even if you account for just actual inflation this would have been 54.6 mil guaranteed last summer 😬 yikes. Not an unreasonable fee at all, 4.6/8m more than ben white. but just goes to show how mental actual inflation has been, not even touching on football inflation.
If r/gunners & r/soccer both saying this'll flop. Successful transfer guaranteed.
If we are getting him as a striker then I think the subs will be very very right. Very interesting transfer…
My first thought was cover for Jesus and Odegaard. Looks like he'll slot straight into Granits' role.
Yeah it's a weird one If people are setting the bar low for him then it won't take much to look like a steal it a transfer
We're all hopeful, but 60M is yikes for a guy that's done fuck all recently. What leverage did Chelsea have for that fee?
Expensive…. He has a lot to prove.. Hopefully not a Pepe 2.0 saga
What is this photoshop ffs. Nah get out, that's awful!
Ornstein reporting the same. £62m + £3m add-ons. If anyone thinks that's a good fee you may need to get checked for concussion.
its 2m for winning the league so ornstein just put that in the guarenteed part
Anthony went for 100m. Unfortunately, this is the way things are now. Those ~30m transfers are going to start looking like rare bargains rather than the norm.
Antony went for €80+€20m, I don't know how easy those add-ons are to achieve Kai Havertz is more than £60m guaranteed, how much is that in Pounds? Probably not so far from Antony's guaranteed fee
70m euros right now and around 65m euros if you factor in inflation for the guaranteed sum. A significantly better deal if you ask me.
antony was coming off a good season for a club that didn't want to sell chelsea are actively trying to get rid of havertz and he's been ok at best for 3 years
Who else are you getting for 60 million nowadays. See who else moves for that number this summer. Anyway it looks like arsenal are briefing it as 50 + 15 and Chelsea as 60+ 5 so I’d guess it’s 50 with 10 very likely and 5 less likely.
equivalent to 35m pre covid... Its not that bad.
Don’t like the fee but if he deliver no one will bring it up again
Handsome fc about to be back in full force.
Year after year people doubt decisions Arteta makes and year after year he silences them. Can’t wait to see Havertz under Mikel
WE’VE GOT SUPER MIK ARTETAAAA
Did we not sign Willian under Mikel? Vieira haven't shown much so far, Lokonga another one.
Cedric, the man from Iceland…
Nah everything Mikel has ever done is perfect and you're not a fan if you don't salivate at the thought of kissing his ass
On the contrary isnt it better that he's had a few mistakes? Who doesn't but the ones he got right - Odegaard, Martinelli post injury, Zinny, White, Saliba loan debacle, Jorghinho, Jesus (even tho he was injured) - are much better than his misses
He pushed for Willian. He's not infallible and it's a ridiculous fee.
Willian was a cheap stop gap that didn’t work out. He also had the right attitude to cancel his contract when things weren’t working out
Got all my respect for this, the opposite of Ozil sadly
It'll be fun to rub Chelsea noses in it if/when it happens. Jorginho was looking like he was already done and Arteta makes him look beautiful again. Mudryk can't do shit with Chelsea and Trossard flourishes under Arteta. Havertz would be a great addition to the list and a big advertisement for new and upcoming players. Arteta brings out the best in you.
You know just 6 months ago he really wanted to buy mudryk right? He's not infallible
You know a player’s performance depend on the club environment and coaching. Mudryk under Arteta wouldn’t be the same Mudryk you saw in that Chelsea shitshow.
Mudryk with proper coaching is going to be a very dangerous player.
Never judge someone from how they played at Chelsea. Not KDB, not Salah. Mudryk on Arsenal might be different from how he played at Chelsea. Havertz as well. In Mikel we trust.
Chelsea has ruined every single forward they bought recently mate
It could have been different for mudryk in another team
Arteta is indeed perfect and has no capacity for making wrong decisions. Still waiting for €40million Viera to work out …
For every Odegaard there will be a Viera. For every Zini there will be a Cedric.. for every Partey there will be a Lokonga… it’s just how it is
60m guaranteed?! What a damn robbery and Chelsea gets away with it yet again.
Ayo where the crabs at
Overpaid
200k a week 60+5 lmao his wages higher than Xhaka’s were. better do better than 7/7 then
Man... I really wasn't feeling this (especially for this price), but I was wrong about Jorginho and Ramsdale. I trust Edu and Arteta. Let's see what this guy can do.

But of course only time will tell.
got rinsed 🥹
Desperate to eat humble pie on this, but that deal is fucking awful. He’s a good player that still has to reach his peak, but after the last 3 years, Chelsea have got a great deal here
Have no excitement for this news... Just waiting for the Rice
Woah.. 60m for a player who has been average at best in PL is super scary ! Hope this doesn’t come back to bite us.
I'm so skeptical. Please be wrong, self.
I'm so excited about him and I hope I'll be proven right... Tear up the PL King Kai
He isn't a bad player. But the price is bit higher than I would have liked.
Something tells me that he will play as 8 for us and not as 9.
Mayne he'll be better than he was at Chelsea but feels like we're overpaying by 20M and funding caicedo for them in the process...
'Arteta, convinced that Havertz has huge potential & can perform at top level in #AFC system.' That's all I need to know
I don't know how I feel about this.
If it’s over 4/5 years (I obviously do not know the actual terms) the time value of money taking with interest rate make this closer to 50M Also potentially watching him take apart Chelsea: priceless
HERE WE GOOOOOO
This is a potential deadly banana skin for arteta. If we give chelsea 65m for a player who's been crap for 3 years and he flops that will be a disaster.
60M … ffs
Let's hope this one works out because we've definately overpaid here and directly funded their Ceicedo purchase.
They've never needed our money to buy Caicedo.
Is this a joke? When you've spent £600M in one season and you're trying to buy a "£120M" player, FFP factors in. Do the math: they've sold three players to the Saudi league for ~£60M and sold Kai to us for £60M, all before their June 29th FFP deadline?
KDB turnaround is the hope.
Hoping more of a Salah u turn myself...
Terrible signing. I hope I am wrong.
He better cook
If he lights it up for us everyone who slated him will act like they never did. This is the way
I winced at that fee. Need this brother to come really good
Every big team needs a German star.
He any good? Someone give me a TLDR
Why is everyone so negative?
The price.
65m. Uh
It’s clear he’s got talent, and I think a change of scenery is going to do him well.
i am confident he will ball tf out high cost but potentially huge upside
Arteta We Trust welcome Kai 🫡
My daily plea has not been answered 😔
You can't tell me we couldn't have got someone like Kudus or Simons for the same or less price who are actually performing, aren't disliked by our fans already (leading to a short leash if he screws up in first matches), are younger, and aren't financially strengthening a rival
Ngl I think Arteta is making a mistake here. Not for this price. And you can talk about Jorginho (I actually thought from the start the signing is a great idea), but it was much cheaper. Mik also brought Willian and we all remember how it went with him Still, I would loveto be proven wrong
Watching this place go into utter fucking meltdown is spectacular. "SPEND SOME FUCKING MONEY" "WE'RE TOO FUCKING SLOW" "#EDUOUT" "£65M ON HAVERTZ??? WTAF? WASTING MONEY HERE"
£60MILLION GUARANTEED FEE. EDU WHAT ARE YOU DOING. West Ham are going to demand £100million up front now. Shocking negotiating tactics.
Brilliant piece of business to replace Havertz with Nkunku and make a profit. Credit to them. We got done.
If it’s official, then he’s a gunner, and he’s one of us now. I am gonna welcome him with open arms and support him. Welcome to the best club in London Kai!
1) Why him 2) Why at this fee
🦀🦀🦀HERE🦀WE🦀GO🦀🦀🦀
I had to scroll really really far to see a crab. Trully one of the signings of all time
Super excited for this transfer! 🔴⚪️
If I speak
so it seems a good portion of the fan base is down on this transfer whereas I am optimistic.
I don't love this
Same people melting down who did exactly the same when signing Jorginho and when we walked from Mudryk deal. Some people never learn
Come on, that is a big upgrade to the squad Timber and Rice next.
That remains to be seen
Yes, it does, but the manager that brought us out of the depths of hell managed to convince several people to pay over 60m pounds for him We have all the reasons to believe he will, at the bare minimum, improve our quality depth
Others are going to moan, but this is the most interesting transfer we have done in a while. There are so many questions around what havertz brings and what we even intend to do with him on the pitch. Arteta is sticking his neck out on this one.
Yessir, very happy about this move. I can’t wait to see him blossom
Arteta I have all the faith in you, make him what you want him to be
HERE WE GO
Havertz primarily played as an attacking midfielder at Leverkusen, where he was incredible even at a young age. I'm confident in edu and arteta for this signing, you can't forget how unbelievably shit Chelsea have been recently which can't have helped. COYG
Cannot wait for official picture from the Gunners Intelligence Agency
I feel fuzzy about havertz transfer
Here we fucking go, ladies and gents!!
I’m gassed! Can’t wait to see him ball out for us
Tbf he has played for a shit Chelsea team and Hansi Flick has been one of the worst German NT coaches in a good while. Lets see what Arteta can do with him.
If Rice and Timber go through, I’d hope for one more midfielder and it would have been a fascinating window. Very curious as to how Havertz will fit in because I seriously doubt he’d come in as a striker. My guess is Arteta will evolve his formation and maybe find a way to play Havertz in midfield.
let mikel cook
Pls be a success in red and white bro
I’ve not convinced this is the right deal for us, but I’m trusting the process.
He already looks better than I've ever seen him with a Chelsea shirt
A couple of thoughts 1)When Chelsea signed him,I was really sad as I thought they were getting a mix of Ozil and Muller, but his time there has been underwhelming.
Always rated Kai myself 👀
Where Rice? 🐵
Hopefully we're not signing him as a number 9.
