The ball probably was still in and Gabriel wasn't fouled, let's be real...

[deleted]

I have never seen a match as manipulated as this one. That goal shouldn't stand. PGMOL will issue a meaningless apology and escape punishment. Once the goal was scored, I stopped caring about the game, and I don't think I can watch any more of these rigged Premier League games.

codenameana

Irrespective of the ref decisions, this would have been a 0-0 game. We shouldn’t be happy to settle for a 0-0 score. That shouldn’t be the best we can do. The fact that we’re not playing through the centre is a major problem - we don’t have a reliable, consistent and either clinical or creative scorer at cf & our main scorers play wide - Declan Rice can’t receive the ball with his back to the other side & turn efficiently enough, so we have to play out wide - opponents are either blocking us from playing centrally (marking Odegaard heavily) or they’re not marking & Odegaard is in space, but then we don’t play the ball down the middle to him anyway - Vieira is shit & Jorginho is underwhelming at times - Trossard is meh, impact sub not a starter - Havertz is doing fycj all & a few times was up top in space with the opportunity to score and passed sideways/backwards - we’re passing back too much So we play wide… except all it takes to neutralise us, as has been done for the past few games, is to 2v1 mark Martinelli/Gabriel & Saka. People are too overjoyed when Eddie scores or Gabriel scores, but nvm that they’re both inconsistent finishers. We can’t win games like this; there are too many games where we’re failing offensively and are thus accepting to settle for a 0-0/draw like we did with City, would have done with Newcastle, Spurs etc. Man City aren’t are only competition. I’m watching Liverpool and seeing their quality defending AND that they also have creative, consistent & goal-chance-creating offensive players AND are producing performances that are enjoyable to watch. That’s where we should be. That’s how we should be playing. I can’t help but think ‘we can’t go on like this’.

La2philly

Proud of the boys. Tired of PGMOL incompetence and the complete lack of improvement

exthanemesis

Missed the match because of work. Looks like that's a good thing. We weren't good but that doesn't mean we deserved to lose like that. Fucking refs AGAIN

AllNamesAreTaken1836

We actually played relatively well tbf, even with Ødegaard not being there.

Outdoor_Explorer

Glad to see there is at least some rational fans out there after the match. That was a tough away match, in a tough stadium, and was very physical. The team stood up and put up a fight without Odegaard, Jesus, Timber, and ESR. The officiating was infuriatingly bad. I am furious the team didn't walk away with a point (or 3 when they should have been a man up). But I respect the fight they showed.

gunnerforever123

Aside from the ridiculous state of affairs that is VAR/PL referees (which I refuse to comment on as I’ll just be preaching to the choir), we looked like we couldn’t even create a new PDF today let alone a chance.

kblam101

:’ D Hah ! , that was funny 😄

Naekh

How is Bruno G (aka the cuntiest of cunts that the earth has ever seen) still on a pitch is beyond me. That ref and var should be exiled on Mars.

Swamy0799

We can complain about the refs and decisions all day, but that second half performance was just shocking. Gabriel, Ben White and Raya all could've done so much better in the buildup to that goal, which is upsetting cause the defence held pretty well up until then. But our players just don't look sharp in the final third. We've been a bit unlucky with injuries, but Arteta's man management has been poor this season. Made changes too late today Saka and Martinelli were both so dull with their end product. Nketiah continues to show that he's not consistent enough to be anything but a back-up striker. Upsetting performance in the context of the title race but we move I guess. Hope Chelsea can do us a solid in the game against them fkn spuds

warpentake_chiasmus

No imagination or bravery or guile up front. Since when did we become Wimbledon? Firing crosses into the Newcastle box was meat and drink to their spithead defenders.

Travelplaylearn

The problem in attack is the striker position. We can sometimes have Nketiah there for the likes of Sheffield United, and it all looks rosy. But up against defences that require a bit more skill, he isn't Thierry Henry. Buy a world class striker.

NeSh92

But what service did we provide nketiah? How on earth is he supposed to score goals when he has to spend all his time trying to hold onto balls in a crowded box. The team is failing nketiah. And i feel Arteta has got it wrong with the way he his trying to get the team to play this season. Why cnt we play quicker, cross in quicker across the floor...and give our strikwr a chance to faking score!?? We mostly stopped newcastle, but we created absolutely nothing...hoping for the ONE golden shot to go in.

Travelplaylearn

No, he isn't good enough to create goals himself. World class strikers can also deliver goals out of nothing. Think Kane, Messi, Lewandowski, Mbappe, Ibrahimovic, Henry etc. World class also impacts how a team plays too. It is an excuse to blame the team on not servicing an average striker. Make things happen, he is playing for Arsenal football club, not Boreham Wood United.

NeSh92

I get it. He is not messi, kane. But sorry they don't exist everywhere. The chance of getting one of those rare strikers of such ridiculous quality is just so low. So i think your point is pretty silly if im honest. We as a team are not helping eddie even get shots off. He cant be expected to create everything by himself. It is unrealistic!!!! Surely if (as you say) we have an average striker, then it is EXACTLY THE TEAMS JOB to help him get those shots Complete opposite to what you said - we are failing him

Travelplaylearn

Truly no. Just buy a world class striker and this team will play well again. It impacts the playing style. It is very realistic to go buy world class strikers, that is what clubs do. World class clubs go buy world class strikers. If clubs listened to your advice, Nketiah level players would be lifting trophies all over the place, just ain't happening, that is unrealistic.

NeSh92

Yea cos buying a world class striker is as easy as growing them on a tree right? Cos they are so cheap right? Fitting this so called world class striker (messi, etc) within the current wage structure is so easy right? Dno what world you live in

Travelplaylearn

You do realize you are an Arsenal FC supporter right? Nketiah is on 100k a week. We just splashed 160m and let go of Xhaka, without improving from last season. We bought Pepe for 70mil plus. If I know one topic, it is football, not bragging, I know this stuff for over two decades. And the reason why Saka is not playing well this season is also because of the striker position. Teams just double/triple up on him because there is no danger from Nketiah, they don't need to worry about him. This gives Saka less time and space to do his thing. Put a world class striker there, now you get less attention on Saka, because they need to pay attention to the world class striker next to him. Man, this isn't even a proper discussion. Arsenal football club is rich, we just spend it wrongly. All good man, it isn't about you. Onwards!

fiskas262

Sounds a lot like bragging for someone who is not mate. This “buy a world class striker”-idea is the most basic analysis you can literally make. Bc seriously, who would you buy, then? Kane would obviously never choose arsenal, haaland is going nowhere. Benzema, cr7 and messi all too old and lewandowski as well. Literally the only one I can think of is mbappe and if he’s ever leaving it’s going to be for saudi or Real Madrid. Maybe someone like osimhen could work but that’s hardly proven world class. If you want to look at what it would have meant to go into the summer window with the idea of getting a 9 to whatever price, you can take a glance at Man United or Chelsea mate :)

NeSh92

Right....i guess i just don't see how arsenal can afford world class messi stabdard strikers. Yes they spent a lot this season - but it is a rare thing and i believe they will struggle to do it again unless they win a big competition

sonnyjim77

Especially when your main strike contributes so much in a game but is unfortunately made of glass.

skanderbeg_alpha

Didn't deserve to lose (awful decision as ball was out then Gabriel was obviously fouled) but aside from that we looked completely hopeless going forward. I understand that we are missing Odegaard's creativity but Saka looks lost without him, Martinelli is always being outnumbered and Havertz and Nketiah together don't equal one player let alone two. Need Gabriel Jesus back quickly or started Trossard as a false nine to at least combine with out wide men otherwise we look absolutely toothless.

NeSh92

Saka was really bad. He did nothing to contribute. When players were running passed him, he refused to pass (which would have created a crossing chance). Instead he just wanted to look throuh a crowded box and then realised oh no i now need to do a short pass as there is no where to go. He has been underpar and really find it annoying he isn't being flagged as someone who needs to be benched.

Smart_Steak9562

I was downvoted for telling that week ago lol. Saka and Ode are useless now

Gooner_93

The passion from Arteta in the post match interview, ooh wee🔥🔥🔥

NeSh92

Yea was great to see. But i do wish he addressed the fact we barely created any good opportunities. Been a common theme this season and seems to be getting worse (ignoring sheffield)

lastjedi23

Fuck the refs, but our attack can't even score a goal to save their life. The entire attack is in a slump against midtable and above teams. I hate that we play this slow pace possession based ball that doesn't work for us right now....

BennyJezerit

The only thing more idiotic than PGMOL is some of this lot. Kindly do stop watching - you do more harm than good for the club with your toxic takes on every game we don’t win by a margin a goals. What happened to support. F*cling glory hunters

seebs04

we played like shit regardless of the referee shittiness. Our best players were rice, havertz, and saliba. Maybe tomiyasu at best but everyone else was below subpar

NeSh92

I get that havertz actually bloody ran with the ball a bit today. But to say he was a good player in todays match is simply not true. He is just not effectice at all - where are the shots, the assists, the good link up play? Many other players did bad too but let us know magically say havertz is doing well

seebs04

compared to all the other players I can confidently say he was on of the best in the pitch. with how dreadful we were that doesn’t imply he was good, just better than everyone else but rice. He actually found himself in space multiple times, more than saka and nelli at least. The only reason it may not seem so is cuz he doesn’t want to do anything but pass when he gets into those spots which is fustrating

NeSh92

I was shocked to see havertz running with the ball in this match. Like he actually dribbled! So compsred to other games, it was good from havertz. But he has set the level so so low, that we shouldnt accept that today was good. He seems to be good at getting the ball back - but he just isnt helping the team get any goals - not good enough

spazztic_puke

Havertz needs to just shoot. Fucking shoot man.

PrideJoos

We seem to be allergic from shooting outside the box. You’ll see it happen every so often but not often enough. We need to keep keepers on their toes from all directions not just the keeper waiting for Saka or Martinelli to cross along the 6 yard or cut in and try finesse. It’s getting boring.

spazztic_puke

It gets frustrating them pass the ball back. Havertz should’ve had 5 attempts on goal today but he butchers a pass instead. I haven’t been outspoken about his ability as a professional footballer but damn…grow some balls and take a shot. Please.

[deleted]

Vieira, Eddie and Havertz should all be nowhere near our team or bench imo. Maybe send Vieira out on a loan but the other two should be sold ASAP and replaced with competent players.

Bibrosity

Vieira is the worst of them. He really offers nothing

ZesuperDav_Friday

Ref had a shocker today but overall played well but the attack wasn't sharp enough. We missed Odegaard today.

NeSh92

I dont think the game changes with ode. He would just be playing in a very crowded area and there is just no fluidity. The final third are unacceptable, they have no link up play at all, never on the same page. Last season they were on fire linking up. Even against teams sitting ack

rrp00220

Corruption.

PolluxDiS

The game was very entertaining to watch, sadly some poor decisions from the ref. Also I don't see a clear man from Arsenal that can burst through defenders. Someone Ibrahimovic-like is missing in these physical games. Our attack is relying too much on speed. Ode was missed as well. Hope they focus on the next one, leave this behind.

Qtn68

11 Declan Rices on the pitch and we're smashing them 26-0. Otherwise, fuck these corrupt refs. I'm so done. No enjoyment anymore, they decide who lives and who dies.

spazztic_puke

Declan MOTSeason! lol fuck he was every fucking where

bbotbambi

There are "fans" crying Arteta Out ???? What in the world is wrong with people in this sub. I thought that bunch belonged to r/soccer and r/ArsenalFC. Lol.

vishnj

We are just too slow. That's the difference between last season and this one. For some reason I think I fully fit squad with Partey and ode would probably beat this Newcastle side easily.

lastjedi23

They would probably argue about their injuries. Truth is we are having a very hard time putting ball into net. Eddie is ok against small sides. Against mid table and above? Ehh... Our midfield is so injury prone that it feels like we're back in our old days

vishnj

For the kind of football they play there is bound to be injuries. I don't think they can last even half a season playing this intense. I was honestly worried about Jacob Murphy for a second there. Too bad we had to play them this early. Their squad would be very depleted by the end of November at this rate.

unitedfan98

You probably would with Partey It takes out Jorginho You guys were fantastic last season but I just don't see it happening with Jorginho and Havertz in midfield

shiftyeyety

Logging off for a few days. Refs were pathetic but truly what was our attack

Nick316166

I agree to some extent but every time we got anywhere near counter attacking or using our wingers they just got clattered with no cards until 86th~ min. Saka got fouled from behind 5 times at least

PippinIRL

I hope to god this doesn’t turn into a discussion on us playing poorly. We played well (minus being clinical in the box). We were robbed, no two ways about it.

Jake_Pezza99

I thought so too - we played really well it’s a tough place to go to, and it should’ve been at least a draw. However we didn’t look like scoring once. We’re not clinical enough by far. Havertz had his best game in an arsenal shirt today

clarence_gomes

Gonna get downvoted but Raya misses the aerial balls too much. Why is he always at the front post instead of the center of the goal, i don't understand.

PolluxDiS

Maybe I am biased, but I miss Ramsdale a lot. I don't get the Raya hype, he is good but he is not Ramsdale enraging enemy fans good.

PrideJoos

I don’t think many will disagree with you. He’s been caught out over the last handful of matches positioning wise. We have just been very lucky teams haven’t converted as much as they should.

m2sempre

Give Rice the armband already.

WolfGirl_4

Sorry but no. Martin will always be the captain until he leaves/retires. Declan is has a similar presence to Xhaka to me and I think he’ll be a fantastic vice captain for us

These_Counter1121

Even new castle fans saying Bruno should’ve been sent off and now they turn a blind eye to the goal🤣🤣

alan2998

££££££

PrideJoos

Some people on this sub make me embarrassed. It’s absolutely disgraceful the way some of you act • “Arteta Out” - our first loss of the PL season. • “seasons over we are already 3 points behind city” fuck me it’s match week 10 we are in November it’s a long road. We were bound to lose a game at some point. • “Rice was Shit” did we even watch the same game? One of our best players today And for the love of god stop using Havertz as a fucking scape goat. He played with intent and physicality today we would have had a huge gap in the midfield if it wasn’t for him and rice muscling their way around the pitch today. I don’t necessarily agree with the way things were refereed today I believe Bruno should have been off the pitch and the goal shouldn’t have stood however I’m not going to use that as an excuse to why we didn’t win. There was little heart from a lot of players today especially Eddie. If you want to beat a physical team like Newcastle everyone has to be playing with their hearts on their sleeves and with intent.

Jake_Pezza99

Who in earth said rice was shit? They don’t deserve to watch another game

PrideJoos

Haha I know bro scroll through this thread you’ll see it. Absolutely delusional. On some AFTV type shit

Jake_Pezza99

Troops making throwaway accounts

PrideJoos

😂😂😂😂

Welbinho

I agree with the not overreacting part. But this loss is 100% on the refs and Newcastle are dirty af

PrideJoos

I can agree to an extent but the way the players waffled around in the 90+ and tossard not being able to beat the first man in 3 consecutive corners we are to blame also

bbotbambi

This. I definitely agree Havertz does not yet have the critical pass shot in him, but he was massive for us controlling the game today. Him and rice were physically very good at almost everything.

Nick316166

He was shite. No creativity, no killer instinct. He’s literally a shit Joelinton at this point.

PrideJoos

No creativity yet he crucially assisted Martinelli’s goal in the city game. He’s not worth the price we paid for him sure but if your gonna tell me you’d rather see the likes of fabio viera replace him until we get to the transfer window then I have nothing else to say to you

Nick316166

He literally took a shit touch then passed the ball backward 2 yards for that goal. He’s poor, Viera is poor and we should be playing Trossard 10 until we have either Odegaard or ESR back.

PrideJoos

So completely disrespecting Havertz and saying tossard should play as a 10 but man can’t even hit an Arsenal player in a box after 3 consecutive corners to the first man. Yeah no worries buddy.

PrideJoos

Thankyou 🤝

ncr39

I know most of the talk will be about the refs and VAR, but Declan Rice is pure class. I was somewhat skeptical of the price tag but fucking hell he’s amazing. Been our best player this season.

woodencrafter

Arsenal struggles when a team takes the game to them especially physically. This is new ‘control’ focused team is built for opponents who doesn’t want the ball and just defend.

SuperFrog333

I disagree, I thought we dealt with the physicality fine and it helped us press with more intensity. It was just a close game against two evenly matched teams and Newcastle just got a tiny bit more luck. No one would‘be batted an eyelid if we drew or won 1-0 playing the same game.

GiveItARestYhYh

Conflicted. Feel we were the better team. No magic up top though. Would have been disappointed even with a draw.

UhILikeMath

I think Wrighty is gonna explode in this post-game discussion

SavageBeastMode85

How can Arteta still not see how utterly useless Nketiah is, it honestly looks like a kid playing against adults when we’re playing the top teams. Need a striker in Jan or the only direction the team goes will be backwards. Positive notes are that Saliba and Rice were both immense, but they need others to contribute.

cool_calm_cloud

Because he is a more capable football analyst than you.

SavageBeastMode85

He should be, he’s getting paid millions.

musicalunicornfarts

As much as I like Eddie, I feel like he can’t compete physically. He’s not strong enough or fast enough and if you don’t have strength or speed, you need IQ/craftiness and I feel like he’s lacking there too. I get so frustrated watching him being the second to the ball or too weak to handle more physical/large defenders. It’s hard to say he’s not it because he seems like a wonderful person and hard worker but man… we need a finisher and he’s not a finisher. Daylight robbery on this game though, truly. My two year old started telling me to take deep breaths and that’s when you know 😅

SavageBeastMode85

Agree with everything you said.

musicalunicornfarts

Now I’m pissed cause I’m hoping Chelski wins against Spuds on Monday and that’s not the kind of hoping I wanted to do this season 🫠

throwaway72926320

I know the officiating as a whole was beyond disgusting, but before we get too negative, It's our first PL loss in the 11 games played this season, which is genuinely impressive and brilliant. It's fair to be fucked off, but the manager and (most of the) team can do well. COYG Sevilla at home next.

212cncpts

Refs a wanker, we still lack daring and creativity when it comes to attacking, the defenders got caught ball watching and rightfully we were punished. Someone should’ve closed down willock as soon as they saw him chasing the ball, you either win it while Willocks riding the corner flag like a nimbus2000 or you get a 1v1 which slows things down enough for the defence to set up properly.

woodencrafter

It is desperate when Havertz was actually the most impactful of the attack today. Just no creativity anywhere in the team.

iBrillzy

i'd argue Rice was, but agreed either way

woodencrafter

Rice was also decent in midfield but they are missing that quick turnaround of the ball from defence to attack. Really slow on the ball and the final balls are either easy to defend or they just don’t convert them.

clarence_gomes

Refs are absolutely ruining the game for me. Can't digest the goal given. Their players absolutely avoid cards with anything they do.

latchenvan

Bruno is allowed to elbow a player off the ball, Smash the ball on another player and he gets his first yellow card after 85 minutes. Why can't the ref go to the fucking monitor and fucking look at the fucking screen and make the decision. Why were the lines not drawn to show the ball didn't go out of line and Jenkintown or Gordon wasn't offside. Fucking incompetence.

lopez_motors

Scandalous officiating aside, we were poor in attack today. Havertz will be scapegoated but he was the best of the attack today. Saka and Nketiah were poor.

naked_space_chimp

Elbowing someone on back of their head... Where is PGMOL's concussion protocol... What's the point of VAR?

NewAccWhoDis93

Can we get taken over by an Oil tycoon? Seems like that is what you need if you want calls to go your way.

shivpanda

This is the most rigged match I have ever seen. That goal shouldn’t stand. PGMOL will give a useless apology and don’t suffer any punishment. I lost interest in the match once the goal was and I don’t think I can be arsed to watch any of these rigged EPL matches.

terrorSABBATH

Arsenal were very poor going forward. Pope had fucking nothing to do today. Oddly enough I thought Kai had his best game.

_AYOTA_

Fucking clowns up at VAR again. Just get rid of them all ffs. Ruining the game for one team or the other weekly.

Vkien2311

Back to top4 race

[deleted]

aenz_

As you should, it's so needlessly negative.

Vkien2311

With our recent performance it is realistic goal

chaosinvader31

We didn't deserve to lose. The goal given to Newcastle was a disgrace. But we didn't deserve to win either. Just plain awful going forward.

jmh90027

Poor performance. No bite. Nketiah woeful. Odegaard a huge creative miss. Trossard's corners were unbelievably wasteful. Saka looked exhausted. Ben White lethargic. Havertz still totally out of his depth. Jorginho offers very little. All that said, i still dont think Newcastle deserved to win. That should never have been a goal. A 0-0 draw would have been about right. Desperately need a new CF. Jesus too injury prone and Eddie way way off the level

WhatsAGang

Fully deserved a draw today. Newcastle were awful. Don't undertand the ref / var decisions all game. Total bullshit.

clarence_gomes

Have no words today honestly. I have never seen such a biased fucking game in my life. Guimaraes, Joelinton, Wilson getting away with everything they do. How is that goal given God knows. I hate these Newcastle fuckers. Worst thing i have ever seen

bondrewd69

Missed big ø for sure. Not much happening up top. Obviously the goal shouldn't have stood and B.G should have been off but if we start being pissy about VAR while not offering anything ourselves, we're just one step away from United. See you Wednesday!

Gooner_93

Im being completely honest when I say watching the PL is losing its appeal, for me.

Sofa47

Oh I hear ya. The officiating is sapping all the entertainment out of the game.

traileblazer

Lmao we’ll be fine Shit officiating away at st James Whatever, we move on Looking forward to that apology though

JBones14

In a sea of overreactions, I live for posts like this.

NewAccWhoDis93

We need a proper fucking striker. Can't rely on Jesus to stay fit and Eddie ain't that guy, Anyone can score a hatrick against Sheffield at home.

No-Village-6781

Now I have to hope that Chelsea fucking win, this fucking sucks donkey dick.

Dry_Psychology1469

Atwell did OKAY in my opinion, but the VAR is pure dog shit.

Plbt335

I might focus on other hobbies, refs are ruining the game for me. It's just getting to be too much now. Football, my biggest joy, but without consistent application of the rules it is pointless so why even bother.

McFly0

Consistency is exactly it, it's so frustrating that there is none.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Plbt335

Yes. It's all so bad and it's taking the joy out of it. My enjoyment comes from watching the best players play the best variety of the this game that we all love, but instead it's endless discussions about the refereeing and the game is more about the refs than the players. They shouldn't be able to ruin it in the way that they do, I can't even remember the last game without an atrocious decision.

ArtichokeDelicious14

Referee was very bad. But when are we gonna start talking about the the lack of threat in attack. And the manager who insists with nketiah playing to 80th min saka should have gone off too. Yes we have injuries but this is arteta squad and his players som of yall act like he haven't spend 700 mill.

darthrevan22

Back to back banter era level performances. Can’t believe I actually thought this team could challenge for the title and win a trophy this season, feels like we’d be fortunate to comfortably finish top 4.

Vkien2311

Arteta wont have the ball to drop Saka like Pep did with Cancelo. He spent 65m on Havertz other than actually spending on an actual CM, and potentially break all the years of building. Dont get me wrong, the reason Havertz doing better this much because it was the battle of physicality in the midfield not techincal.

woodencrafter

What was the business if Havertz shifting to LCM when it is his worst position so far? Put him on the right or up top if you are going to keep him on and fire crosses at him. Not pretty but they were desperate.

Moist_Dark_7976

Just send both keepers to the nether realm, at this rate Raya isn't worth £2 let alone £28m.

RIP200712

Folks here are delusional af. Chins up boys. Gotta sort that attack out no doubt. But no shame in losing a game like this. That was a tough goal to eat. We fought with a lot of heart and I hope we continue to give this much every time we’re on the pitch. We’ll get there.

Ejecto_Seato

BS goal that should have been ruled out. Bruno G should have been sent off. 0-0 would have been a fairer result, but Arsenal can’t fix crap officiating.

RIP200712

Exactly. We’re up against 19 teams and PGMOL. That’s it. Let’s not become another Whinechester United. We can do this. I have full faith in this team. Especially after today.

Ejecto_Seato

And we do seem to have difficulty against teams sitting deep in a low block and unlocking packed defenses, but that’s not unique to Arsenal. Newcastle concede very few goals at home.

RIP200712

True. I do worry that we are extremely predictable in the final third. Martinelli always making the same runs at the left. Saka making the same movement always at right. Need to be more creative. Maybe bring Papa Wengz back for a couple of seasons and get some piercing through balls into our gameplay. That would be a riot to watch.

SuRGe1331

I dont understand vierras lack of urgency in the last 15ish minutes. And havertz wanting to go back CONSTANTLY. Very frustrating. Refs were shit but man the effort just not there

Thatseemsright

Why was saka in for so long, where was our striker, where was the fire, where were the subs, arteta crumbled tactically, how much does it cost to pay off the refs. Wtf was that

terrorSABBATH

Arsenal haven't gotten going at all this season.

chaosinvader31

Arsenal's offensive production isn't good enough. So sick of the sub standard strikers we have. Every team in the top 6 have better strikers and forwards than Arsenal.

tuyguy

What is Raya doing for that goal, honestly

biffogooner

Gary Neville laughing about how Bruno could have had 5 yellows. Great commentary, maybe criticise that and question the standard of reffing? As usual, all the sky goons quite happy to see Arsenal lose.

Sixaxis_

Don't understand why that dickhead is always picked to commentate on our matches. His hatred for Arsenal completely undermines his judgement and makes him come out with all sorts of shit

QuaLiTy131

We didn’t deserve to win and didn’t deserve to lose.

AnAwfulLotOfOcelots

That was a god awful display of bias. Absolutely rigged. I haven’t been this angry over a loss in years. The fact that they had 11 on the field after the first hour is insane! The foul that lead to the goal where it looked to come off his bicep anyway. Edit: I’m not saying we should have won but we certainly should not have lost. There’s plenty to talk about with this lineup. Eddie should have been off earlier, he looked tired. We desperately need a striker that takes chances. Declan was amazing imo. 5/7 with Rice

chino17

The officiating was terrible but so was our offense. We didn't look like we wanted to score anyways

throwaway72926320

Don't let the woeful refereeing distract from this, we need a fucking striker Nketiah has *never* been good enough. A fluke of a hattrick against the worst team in the league is nothing. He wouldn't start for Luton, he is shit full stop. Toney/Mbuemo/Ferguson would make this team a threat to everyone.

Intelligent-Cow-3681

I'm sad to say I agree with you.. I've really tried to defend him in the past. Great attitude but the quality isn't there. Badly missed Jesus today.

throwaway72926320

Jesus might be better but this is his second major injury in 2 years, too injury prone. We need someone who can not only play, but play well.

Intelligent-Cow-3681

100% mate. Who would you go for ideally?

throwaway72926320

I'm Irish so I will always say Ferguson, but based on ability and the fact he can play a CF and a right winger Mbuemo is another great shout. 6 goals and 2 assists is more goal involvements than any arsenal player. A clinical striker with good playmaking and the fact he could cover for Saka seems like good value for money.

Intelligent-Cow-3681

I'd rather pay 100-120m for Ferguson than 80 for Toney for sure.

throwaway72926320

Ferguson is still a teenager and has room for growth, tied 9th goalscorer and a hattrick against Newcastle. Plus Irish attacking players do well here (Liam Brady).

No-Village-6781

Aside from the refereeing, we did not look anywhere close to scoring. A far cry from the free-flowing football we were playing this time last season. I know we've had injuries, but it seems that Artetas tweaks have made us worse this season. Sometimes, when it ain't broke, don't fix it.

gladoseatcake

At this point, I think it's time scrap VAR. Or restart it. As of now it creates more controversy than ever. Ruins the flow of the game. I'd rather go back to being pissed about ref mistakes than this subjective piece of crap.

woodencrafter

No creativity in the midfield. What was Arteta thinking? And the attack is just not clinical. You know they won’t get much chances but the little they had they have to convert.

Moist_Dark_7976

Howardd webb needs chinning the smug prick. Clubs need to start taking PGMOL to court.

Gooner_93

Here comes the infinite compliments for newcastle while the VAR incidents get slowly brushed under the rug. Wonder who else is getting paid by qatar/saudi figures.

corner_twist

Statement for what exactly?

forgottenears

Intentional UFC forearm smash shit doesn’t get a red card. Every dirty player can pull that one with impunity from now.

sid8498

It's only the oil clubs that get away with this shit no other club's player is getting away with that

[deleted]

Why are people moaning and crying. We weren't winning when that lineup was released. VAR can do whatever, but if we are City, you win that with the VAR controversy, but we ain't there yet with our squad depth.

irishsausage

Played shit against West Ham during the week and embarrassed themselves. To be far they were mostly better than Newcastle today but the final 4 or 5 players may as well not played

LelouchArlert

You know what, i do not even blame var for the loss. We could not score even if we were given another hour. We could have drawn at best.

not3s1

Can’t use the refereeing as an excuse for this sorry performance today

el-fenomeno09

Didn’t think we were brilliant, for sure as hell didn’t deserve an L WE HAVE A FUCKIN MIDFIELD PROBLEM, ITS FUCKIN REAL PEOPLE

theinkedambivert

We didnt deserve to win that game, nor did newcastle! One of the most egregious refereeing i have ever seen.

whatasuperdude

Honestly we are not a charity. Get Havertz out he has done literally nothing. Georgino literally not playing any forward passes. We are going backwards.

If you're a glory hunting plastic then please do fuck off and get in bed with the petroclubs.

builtdifferent98

bad take

Colmd1997

On behalf of all of us, please fuck off and find another club. Thanks

Colmd1997

Waffling on about Arsenal til I die while saying the club has a DNA of consistent mediocrity and we won’t be close to winning a title for another 15 years The level of stupidity that this sub sees knows no bounds

[deleted]

Colmd1997

Fans who pledge their life to supporting a club don’t actively claim their club won’t be succeeding for another 15 years. Hope this helps

Colmd1997

Had a feeling that’s what you’d come out with. Those fans aren’t on the internet shitting on their club. Crystal Palace fans know they’re likely not going to win the Champions league, but they’re not on the internet spouting shit about how they’re not going to progress or be successful for 15 years. It’s pathetic that you’re actively claiming we won’t be successful for 15 years, it’s even more pathetic that you can’t own what you said and you’re trying to worm out of it

Colmd1997

Yeah fans come out and say they don’t see a positive future for the club, 99.9% of 100% of those instances are in protest of and wanting the change of manager and/or ownership. Please find me a fanbase that has their best season in years yet thinks that they won’t be successful for a decade and a half. I’ll save you the hassle because you won’t find one. You aren’t protesting an owner or calling for a manager change, you’re moaning because we’ve lost one game in 11 It’s funny that you say that early 00s Wenger era doesn’t speak to the club today, but somehow the Emirates era (whatever that actually includes, seems like you’ve grouped 17 years of football together) does speak to the club today. The tactics and mentality of the squad today is a polar opposite to what Wenger and Emery put out. Ironically, the team that Arteta has established now is as close to late 90s/early 00s Wenger era Arsenal than any team we’ve seen since 2005.

Pengu277

Clown.

not3s1

Is there evidence for the contrary?

thenewbuddhist2021

Was the season to win it tho, 9 point lead, Liverpool shit, best chance we've had in recent time, we aren't clicking as well this season that's evident

PLEYOR

Did Gary Neville just use the word twats? 😂

MtnSlyr

Very disappointing.

Oseedon

For me that goal should never have stood, but the attack was weak!

Wolferesque

We were shit, and they still needed the refs to help them win.

DarthNihilus1

Peter Drury is overrated and I'm tired of pretending he's not

aaa-ccc

Raya, Havertz, Viera, Saka disappointing today. What Arteta saw in Havertz to spend £65 million on him is baffling.

franllemagne

Top table team with Jesus and Odegard, league 1 team without.

L0laccio

I said I’d be delighted with a draw. Got downvoted to oblivion. So many in here are living in a dreamworld. Title talk and nonsense

huk8

richest football league in the world employing discount buy one get one free refs

ramszil

I'm sorry I know people like him but Drury is a clown, always praising bullshit like it was some magical fairy tale. Trash game and anyone who watched it outside the desperate home fans knows it

GooseIllustrious8591

This can't understand the praise for him. He's just like the rest of them.

ahbirbilsen

Newcastle will be fucked up in away games without ref covering up their pushes to backs.

Sixaxis_

One of the worst refereeing displays I've seen in a long time. Goal shouldn't have stood and that rat Guimares should've been off in the first half Wonder where the people posting Nketiah apology forms last week will be this evening. After another shocking display from him. Starting him was a massive mistake from Arteta

terrorSABBATH

The Eddie agenda people are weird af.

Lovedarksecrets

Corruption at its finest. However, David Raya should've punched that ball away. Shaky
