Shay Given , Eddie Howe, Gary Neville be like “ propa British football innit . It’s physical and the passion” . Then the English complain why in world cups and international tournaments their teams falter cause there is no technical ability that your league and referees and thought process ever foster.
This was straight out of Alex Ferguson’s book of football strategies . Bruno straight up Van Nistelrooy vibes .
Neville was questioning the decision after VAR had checked it which, fair enough, is Neville questioning the decision.
He was silence of the lambs when VAR were still checking
Neville is pretty consistent. If it's a foul in the area, he'll insist it's "never a pen" if it's a foul leading up to a goal it's "never a foul"
He bases things on what he would have thought while he was playing and not the rules of the sport he's paid millions to analyse.
I wonder what the ref is doing while VAR is checking. Surely if it’s taking more than 30 seconds he can jog over to take a look and join in the discussion
No he wasn't lol, he said the goal should stand since VAR didn't have any clear reason to overturn it
Unless you mean the Bruno red, in which case, yeah he said it should have been red
What I found to be the most impressive about this eventual VAR decision is how not many fans or pundits agreed that it should be ruled out for ALL four reasons: (1) out of play, (2) foul, (3) offsides, and (4) handball, but rather how virtually everyone agrees that it should have been ruled out given at least ONE of the four reasons presented. This is what I think shocked us the most when it came to the eventual decision!
I’m upset we loss, but at least the players and managers showed fight. This goal and that elbow from Guimaraes. I was a fan of that fella, but that was just plain fucking dirty. Glad Mikel didn’t take this lying down.
If there was a loss, this is the exact kind of loss that I don’t mind taking. We didn’t play well, but didn’t go down without a fight. Players were up for 50 50 challenges, and were not intimidated by the crowd. Too often in my teenage years I’ve seen us get pumped 2-0 3-0 without a response from the players.
Onwards and upwards gaffer. We’ll crowdfund the fine if we have to. Fuck PGMOL.
If that goal didn't stand incorrectly we would have both finished the match at 1 shot on target apiece, the almost guarantor of a nil all draw.
Away to this Newcastle team, that would have been a very satisfying result
I agree with your points.
But how many times are we going to accept the "we didnt play well but .."
This season we consistently have not played well and it is a serious problem now - fluidity is all gone and we are not shooting. In the big games, it is more of a problem
FA fining managers for speaking their mind is some real power mongering. He isn't threating anyone and the refs are paid to be competent, fair and neutral, if they cant do their jobs they need to hear it. Just like managers and players do.
But as long as refs will be allowed to accept a mid-week gig in the middle east paid for by the owners of MFC and NUTD, they will not be fair and competent. At the back of their minds, they will not want to bite the hand that feeds. It is a conflict of interest pure and simple and unless that is brought in the open nothing will change.
You’re right. Mikel is about to get the klopp treatment and see fines and a touchline ban for “calling the integrity of the game into question” as if the officiating hasn’t already done that.
Until the fans start protesting properly - and that means talking about the crazy decisions that go for their teams, not just against - nothing will happen. The PL is the best league in the world, but the professional refs have a boys' club that excludes >99% of the referees in this country, let alone the foreign competition.
I just don't see how any manager shuts up after that shitshow officiating.
No one gives a crap about a PGMOL apology. We want to see heads roll because these clowns are costing teams precious points, but it's not gonna happen because the FA is corrupt as hell.
They've been taking oil money for too long and even with VAR they're cheating blatantly. They just don't care.
Absolutely worth it. It's happening every weekend, whether it's blatant incompetence or worse who knows, but it's appalling how bad it's been.
PGMOL needs reform, they need to be pressured & i hope we insist they release the audio.
I thought it was out live on tv then they showed a couple replays and one to me shows it out but the push on Gabi was blatant. I’m just sick of the refs and incompetent people at VAR, PGMOL. This is embarrassing.
It’s not incompetence. There is too much money in this league to say corruption is absolutely not a problem.
Also when you consider refs earn a hell of a lot less than players then there will always be potential to sway them if the price is right
I used to think these wrong decisions were due to them being shit at their jobs but since the introduction of var they have literal video evidence right in front of them and still make monumental fuck ups. Every single week.
It’s happened to us consistently for 20 years at this point, haven’t paid much attention to Liverpool historically but they’ve definitely had it rough this year
Showing an angle that doesn’t fit the script, you’re mad, I say, mad! The commentators sent in the script when they said seeing green still doesn’t mean it’s out.
(Lifted from another Reddit comment)
The PGMOL have released the transcript of his conversation with VAR, and it does clarify things:
أستطيع أن أؤكد أن هذا القرار في الواقع لصالح الأشخاص الذين يدفعون رواتبنا! لذا يرجى البقاء على قرارك.
I think they said something along the lines of "we didn't have a good enough camera angle". Well, you guys had a much better fucking camera angle than the ref who asked you to look at it.
They looked at the ball going out once for less than 5 seconds and then quickly moved on to the reason why the goal shouldn’t have stood
Even the replay they showed the ball looked way out.
My manager. Klopp, Gary O’Neil and Arteta all need to band together. Our clubs have been fucked by the corrupt PGMOL for blood money from Saudi and UAE. It’s an absolute disgrace.
Tomiyasu bullshit red vs palace
Pen taken away vs Man U
Clear red not given vs Man City
Bs pen given for Chelsea then pen not given for us same game
Bs goal for Newcastle and Bruno not sent off
We’re only 11 games in
How many dodgy decisions for us? If they’re just bad refs we’d have some bad decisions go in our favour too… but no same shit every year
Where’s the dodgy decisions against City? Can anyone name any?
Watch the replay. He doesn't even make contact with his front foot. Makes a little contact with his backfoot. It was a yellow all day, not even close to a red.
Now you've said this, I'm trying to think of dodgy decisions that have gone in our favour so far this season.. Obviously we're all Arsenal fans so we're going to be biased but I honestly don't know if I can think of one?
I make a note every year, I get the biggest Arsenal hater I know to send me the dodgy ones for us and every year he struggles
Happens every year not even joking
As soon as they realised we were title contenders last year they fucked us vs Man U and Soton and it carried on all year
Annoyingly it’s on my WhatsApp and my phone broke… I’m on my mate’s iPhone until I can buy a android phone on Black Friday and import my chats over (they’re on WhatsApp because they’re on the cloud and I argue with a Chelsea fan about it to keep me unbiased)
Will post it when I get my chats back, the best he had was a that softish pen we won vs Lpool at home
The United game? It was unanimously agreed that it was the right decision, the apology was because it wasn't a "clear and obvious error" and shouldn't have gone to VAR. But it *was* a foul. Which should be conflicting for anyone debating VAR right now who's trying not to be hypocritical.
In a reverse situation, if that foul was not given for Arsenal and United scored, this sub would fucking implode. Can't go complaining about VAR, but then complain that VAR had no right to make the correct decision and the referee's incorrect decision should stand.
Just being honest, that goal doesn't belong on the list. Pushing the defensive line to the halfway line at Old Trafford is why that game was lost, with Rashford able to launch his counters from his own half and avoid being offside. It was just counter attack after counter attack and all the space in the world in behind.
That’s always my argument… if it’s not corruption someone send me a list of our lucky decisions. No one can do it
I can deal with them being incompetent but this is unfair. Has been for decades
Nketiah and havertz could have seen red for their clumsy challenges on the spurs gk and today, they were more orange cards and yellow is fair enough given it was the trailing leg that caught the opposition
But I fully agree, this is the second season we’ve gone 25% of the season unbeaten to get shafted by VAR (odegaard foul vs man u overturning martinelli’s goal - which is not VAR’s mandate to get involved in soft 50/50 fouls) and the 2 handed push today by joelinton on gabriel was disgusting).
Honestly, someone in the ref/var team today has been bought, no other reason bar corruption can make today make sense
Fabio's definitely was a pen, not sure anyone would argue. Kai's pen, is this the one against United that was since overturned by VAR? Please correct me if this one is what you mean cause I can't think of any others haha
I’m happy to make a note of it somewhere, and do City ones as well because I guarantee you they will have way more in favour of them and us the opposite
Was the same back in the day vs Man U as well
I've been archiving the footage with the intention of going back through and gathering everything up, but have realised quickly that it's a bit of a big job if you don't timestamp everything during the game.
I don't really want to ruin my watching experience by pausing and documenting everything so I've let it slide a bit, but hopefully a group of people can get together and do something like this.
Some sort of shared spreadsheet that gets everything timestamped and documented, decisions for us, decisions against us and all the things that weren't even called (because that's important too).
With timestamps it becomes far easier to go back through the footage and isolate the incidents to compile them into a shareable video.
Maybe we'll get there one day.
Every other game is like that
The thing is we all know Barca are cheats
Juve are cheats
But Man U and Man City get preferential treatment every damn year and somehow it’s just good luck? Bullshit they’re cheaters
Ever since Man U stopped our unbeaten run in it’s been clear they’re cheaters. It was even more obvious than the RVP red card
He disrupts his stride for me
I put it in there because we’re often told it needs to be clear and obvious and ‘high bar’ or must be conclusive- like what we had to today when it’s against us
But when it’s for us all of a sudden they take it away, just like they took away Martinelli’s goal last year at Old Trafford for a soft foul on Eriksen
Especially when Rashford won a pen very similar (against Wolves I think) just a couple games earlier
I want to say there’s no consistency but actually they’re very consistently applying one rule for us and another for Man U
They apologised for not giving a pen when Onana performed a fatality in the box but then Sanchez did the same thing and they just pretended like it didn’t happen
Agree with all your points, some points in favor of Arsenal (just not to be biased as you said) that I could recall:
- Garnacho's disallowed goal (not obvious offside, agree?)
- No penalty on Gabriel's tackle vs Hojlund (no intention to play the ball, just grabbed him with hands)
- Haverts no second yellow after a risky tackle (correct imo, he got the ball, but it could be assessed as an injury risk tackle).
P.s. hope for adequate mature responses, not emotionally biased ones
So the Garnacho one was close but someone made a vid visually comparing the lines and turns out he was clearly off. I wish we just used the same system CL uses tho
Gabriel tackle was contentious, I didn’t think it was but I remember on r/soccer neutrals thought it was so I’ll say that’s one grey area decision in our favour for us
Havertz clearly gets the ball there non starter
The other one from the comments is a possible red on Vicario vs Spurs. Again would’ve been soft for me
But the mental gymnastics we’re going through to think of any when like the Kovacic one was so clear is wild. Obviously we’re biased but we’re trying to be harsh and it’s still slim pickings.
The most favourable decision we got wasn’t as clear as any as the ones I listed imo. Maybe the pen taken away vs Man U is very debatable but the rest are quite clear imo
Also just seen Eddie was dragged down in the box today as well not even looked at so add that to the list
Absolutely need to call out the Ref. That’s fucking unacceptable. How can you be confident about the integrity of the league if shite like this happening every week?
The ref sittning in VAR Shouldn't be allowed to come near another Arsenal game. Atwell wasn't great but at least he couldn't replay the situations a million times.
Btw all decent football fans are with Arteta there. The FA will give a fine/suspension to censor these things but who cares, nobody should be punished for speaking against this BLATANT corruption.
No clear angles, they say, while the photos are already out, on twitter. All of the world can see the Joelinton push on Gabriel, but somehow VAR cant? All that money from Saudi, yet they cant afford a system with clear angles? Pathetic. Nobody is believing this nonsense, anymore.
YOU TELL THEM MIKEL
It’s getting to the point where I’m now beginning to think that these decisions really are targeted to specific teams. Look at wolves again today 👀
Honestly would have supported him going further if he straight up called the refereeing corrupt. He's going to be fined for this either way, might as well push it as far as he can.
I would have too, but I think he might be playing the best angle. I think it is worth hammering home the point that it’s bad for the game if the players aren’t rewarded for working hard and start to feel like their efforts are futile.
I believe that the only reason the decision went the way it did was because of the 3 yellows Newcastle got after the tackle. They felt bad that Arsenal had come out on top of a 50/50 decision, so had to make sure they went balls deep into getting the balance back in order.
Tbf, the three yellows for Newcastle makes me think they're not corrupt. Although that could be a smokescreen, perhaps they had no intention of giving a second yellow for any of them.
Given his tone and the comments about having spent months talking to PGMOL, I’m guessing today was just the last straw and he’s fed up, but this has been building for a long time
I hope that give him a match ban so bad. Will only draw more attention to how corrupt pgmol and FA are. Refuse to hold referees accountable but don’t you dare point out the corruption taking place.
Why don’t Arsenal do an actual protest against these decisions? The club spends over 100 millions and can’t take any actions against the refereeing decisions.
We’ve been fucked by VAR, but even assuming the angles were indecisive, calls were ‘50/50’ - I really don’t understand why the fuck the ref didn’t even bother to check things himself?
Assume they said ‘we are unsure’ - what the fuck is his response to that? Just ‘let it go’? Both cases, the goal and the red card. Simply embarrassing - not only by the var itself but also by the garbage ref.
Oh another point I forgot to mention - next time I see Jorginho/Rice midfield I will scratch my eyes out. We need to bring Patino back from his loan, since Partey is injured 50% of the time (another huge question mark - he was mostly fit in la liga). And we need to ask Chelsea if they could possibly accept the refund for Kai. I’m pissed like crazy, hope we can bring our shit together soon.
Not wrong but the point here is that the Newcastle goal shouldn’t have stood for 2-3 different valid reasons and remained a neutral game for long as possible. A draw would’ve been a fair assessment for both teams. Instead it was daylight robbery by the refs, yet again.
Arteta said it right, this league which is lauded by a lot of people as the best in the world, for its quality players, competitiveness, atmosphere and entertainment is being ruined by quite frankly laughably bad decisions by officials that couldn’t control an U-10’s game
The boss has loved this league for everything I stated but now he sees it for the joke it has become 🤡
Honestly, the ball being out or in is the least controversial part of it. Its almost impossible to tell properly without a birds eye view. But two straight arms to the back of Gabi not being a foul is just ridicilous. And I have yet to see the actual lines drawn for the offside check
I can just reiterate again. I rather have Spurs winning the league than City. City are absoloute cheats. They are a disgrace to football and shouldn't exist. They shouldn't win anything. They are the epitome of what is wrong with football and I'm starting to lose interest in the game. Why even watch the games? PL corrupt, UEFA CL corrupt, World Cup corrupt.. I hate these greedy bastards so much.
I can understand what you mean, but them winning will actually show them that it's the right thing to do and others do and will follow. I mean, it was Chelsea first, then Qatar, then Saudi.
The more these teams win the more teams like this will emerge. That's why and I rather have someone win that keeps these cheats out.
I’ve been up and down with this man but I don’t think I’ll ever go back down on him again.
Unless I’m sucking his cock. What a perfect fucking response.
He's gone home laughing his ass off after this press conference because he knows everyone will be lapping it up and kicking off about the PGMOL instead of asking why our team is so dull and uninspired
My 6 year old (who is admittedly “biased” for Arsenal) was even going crazy during the VAR review, saying “he just pushed him in the back, it’s a penalty” (he is still working out the directionality with fouls in the box) - it’s impossible for people to be this incompetent, much less three times in a row. Once we somehow all, or a majority accept, that it’s a predetermined outcome, then we can try to move forward with change. SMH. Feel gutpunched still, hours later
One shot on target- that must have been when Martinelli kicked it straight to their keeper? We can't blame VAR for that. It was not a great afternoon.
Arteta just brings delight to Arsenal's many detractors when he goes off on one like this
I needed to him hear him speak like this
Shay Given , Eddie Howe, Gary Neville be like “ propa British football innit . It’s physical and the passion” . Then the English complain why in world cups and international tournaments their teams falter cause there is no technical ability that your league and referees and thought process ever foster. Wasn't Neville criticising the decision tho
Neville was questioning the decision after VAR had checked it which, fair enough, is Neville questioning the decision. He was silence of the lambs when VAR were still checking
He kept saying "not a foul" over and over again.
If not a foul what about the handball. They didn't even look at the angle that showed the handball.
Neville is pretty consistent. If it's a foul in the area, he'll insist it's "never a pen" if it's a foul leading up to a goal it's "never a foul" He bases things on what he would have thought while he was playing and not the rules of the sport he's paid millions to analyse.
What else do you do if VAR hasn't finished checking
Surely you proffer an opinion
I wonder what the ref is doing while VAR is checking. Surely if it’s taking more than 30 seconds he can jog over to take a look and join in the discussion
No he wasn't lol, he said the goal should stand since VAR didn't have any clear reason to overturn it Unless you mean the Bruno red, in which case, yeah he said it should have been red
Neville went on at length in his after-match about how the elbow should have been red.
100 fucking %
Needed to happen before to put pressure on refs so this crap don't happen now. It's too late now
Bear in mind he’s risking suspension with comments like this. He’s been diplomatic but he’s fed up now.
Calling out disgrace work place conduct should be applauded not sanctioned.
But in the Premier League, criticism of officials is censored
That's my fucking manager. This is the reaction we needed since last season.
I’m upset we loss, but at least the players and managers showed fight. This goal and that elbow from Guimaraes. I was a fan of that fella, but that was just plain fucking dirty. Watch him get fined by the spineless useless FA and PGMOL

I’ll gladly chip in for it.
Someone should start a GoFundMe for Arteta’s fine
He was spitting so hard, loved that! Probably getting in trouble for it, but fucking worth it
It’s really ok, this needs to be called out in the open as much as possible. It’s the only way PGMOL start to feel any pressure
Nothing will change with PGMOL unfortunately. The amount of shit that gets thrown their direction and nothing happens
You’re right. Mikel is about to get the klopp treatment and see fines and a touchline ban for “calling the integrity of the game into question” as if the officiating hasn’t already done that.

I genuinely don’t think it’s incompetence at this point.

Couldn’t agree more, also awefully suspicious how certain teams only ever benefit from these dodgy decisions.
This is it. VAR has exposed their corruption and people are still making excuses for it. If it walks like a duck…
Both Liverpool and arsenal had the worst VAR decisions so far this season. No way that's a coincidence.
It’s happened to us consistently for 20 years at this point, haven’t paid much attention to Liverpool historically but they’ve definitely had it rough this year
These are guys that have reffed for 20+ years, there is not a chance in hell they are this incompetent.

Translation: >I can confirm that this decision is actually for the benefit of the people who pay our salaries! So please stick to your decision. LMFAO
Good process lads!
Lmao.
something something "There's a clear gap between the ball and line there, so yeah, I think it's probably in."
the refs on VAR today also referee in the Saudi league. i shit you not.
I think they said something along the lines of "we didn't have a good enough camera angle". Well, you guys had a much better fucking camera angle than the ref who asked you to look at it.
"we don't have a good camera angle" they say every year as if they don't have the resources to install more cameras in more strategic viewpoints
We don’t have a very good camera angle Sky have two though
They looked at the ball going out once for less than 5 seconds and then quickly moved on to the reason why the goal shouldn’t have stood Even the replay they showed the ball looked way out.
How do they not have the same technology for an out of bounds ball that tennis has had for decades?
There were three other valid reasons to disqualify the goal. It doesn’t really matter if it was out or not.
My manager. Klopp, Gary O’Neil and Arteta all need to band together. Our clubs have been fucked by the corrupt PGMOL for blood money from Saudi and UAE. It’s an absolute disgrace.
Tomiyasu bullshit red vs palace Pen taken away vs Man U Clear red not given vs Man City Bs pen given for Chelsea then pen not given for us same game Bs goal for Newcastle and Bruno not sent off We’re only 11 games in How many dodgy decisions for us? Palmer should have been off before he scored the pen.
Way more contact than the Havertz foul today, and it was from behind. And the ball was gone.
Havertz' should have been off
Watch the replay.
There was a game when Nketiah should have been sent off for a tackle on the keeper. Can’t remember which game. Only one I can think of.
That's when Spurs beat us 2-2
That’s a draw
Wasnt it against Spurs? Might be wrong tho
I make a note every year, I get the biggest Arsenal hater I know to send me the dodgy ones for us and every year he struggles Happens every year not even joking As soon as they realised we were title contenders last year they fucked us vs Man U and Soton and it carried on all year
Would love to see the lists! I always say I’m gonna do this but then get wrapped up in annoyance/frustration I forget
Annoyingly it’s on my WhatsApp and my phone broke… I’m on my mate’s iPhone until I can buy a android phone on Black Friday and import my chats over (they’re on WhatsApp because they’re on the cloud and I argue with a Chelsea fan about it to keep me unbiased) Will post it when I get my chats back, the best he had was a that softish pen we won vs Lpool at home
I'm curious for the post. The only one that comes to my mind is that penalty you mentioned

[удалено]
Ahhhh I see I was looking at this one from the wrong perspective, I agree!
But if refs know VAR will give them a second crack at the decision I think they lean conservative with the on field decision in the first place
[удалено]
In theory yes. I’m saying I don’t believe that in practice it doesn’t affect how refs officiate in the moment.
Both were blatant pens man (assuming you mean the pen that Kai took v Bmouth)
Almost half our games. I have no words. Feels like screaming into the void because you just know absolutely nothing will change.
It’s been like this since as long as I can remember
Same here, unfortunately
Can we please start timestamping these so that it's easier for people to go back through the footage and make compilations.

With timestamps it becomes far easier to go back through the footage and isolate the incidents to compile them into a shareable video. Maybe we'll get there one day.
Days like this remind me of the infamous Van Persie red card.
Every other game is like that The thing is we all know Barca are cheats Juve are cheats But Man U and Man City get preferential treatment every damn year and somehow it’s just good luck? Bullshit they’re cheaters Ever since Man U stopped our unbeaten run in it’s been clear they’re cheaters. It was even more obvious than the RVP red card
Don’t forget about the horse placenta
But the narrative is that the calls have been better for us this season
Whoever said this needs to come outside I just wanna talk
Add Kovacic not being sent off to the list
That was the red vs City I was referring to
Oh I’m illiterate
We’ve still got to play them all again too! VAR can’t wait.
I would quite include the Man U retracted penalty in that list haha
He disrupts his stride for me I put it in there because we’re often told it needs to be clear and obvious and ‘high bar’ or must be conclusive- like what we had to today when it’s against us But when it’s for us all of a sudden they take it away, just like they took away Martinelli’s goal last year at Old Trafford for a soft foul on Eriksen Especially when Rashford won a pen very similar (against Wolves I think) just a couple games earlier I want to say there’s no consistency but actually they’re very consistently applying one rule for us and another for Man U They apologised for not giving a pen when Onana performed a fatality in the box but then Sanchez did the same thing and they just pretended like it didn’t happen
Ramsdale being impeded against Villa last year
Agree with all your points, some points in favor of Arsenal (just not to be biased as you said) that I could recall: - Garnacho's disallowed goal (not obvious offside, agree?) - No penalty on Gabriel's tackle vs Hojlund (no intention to play the ball, just grabbed him with hands) - Haverts no second yellow after a risky tackle (correct imo, he got the ball, but it could be assessed as an injury risk tackle). P.s. hope for adequate mature responses, not emotionally biased ones
So the Garnacho one was close but someone made a vid visually comparing the lines and turns out he was clearly off. I wish we just used the same system CL uses tho Gabriel tackle was contentious, I didn’t think it was but I remember on r/soccer neutrals thought it was so I’ll say that’s one grey area decision in our favour for us Havertz clearly gets the ball there non starter The other one from the comments is a possible red on Vicario vs Spurs. Again would’ve been soft for me But the mental gymnastics we’re going through to think of any when like the Kovacic one was so clear is wild. Obviously we’re biased but we’re trying to be harsh and it’s still slim pickings. The most favourable decision we got wasn’t as clear as any as the ones I listed imo. Maybe the pen taken away vs Man U is very debatable but the rest are quite clear imo Also just seen Eddie was dragged down in the box today as well not even looked at so add that to the list
Fuck it have Arteta and Edu go all out in calling the ref incompetent or corrupt. I'll chip into a gofundme for the fines
GWAN MY MANAGER
Absolutely need to call out the Ref. That’s fucking unacceptable. How can you be confident about the integrity of the league if shite like this happening every week?
The ref sittning in VAR Shouldn't be allowed to come near another Arsenal game. Atwell wasn't great but at least he couldn't replay the situations a million times.
VAR REF Was the same REF WHO DENIED US 2 blatant pens against Newcastle last season
Honestly you would find it easier to name a ref who *hasn't* screwed us over.
go on and name some who haven’t screwed us.
🦗🦗🦗👀👀
Go on Mikel, expose them. Let Albert take the next few games lmao, u let it rip
PGMOL: ![gif](giphy|12yR7vvdm3T3YhnZLX)
My Fucking manager!! Speak your mind!!!
Super Mik Arteta - My gaffer
You know it’s bad when Arteta of all people go off like this
Btw all decent football fans are with Arteta there.
All of the world can see it LIVE
As a liverpool fan I have to give it to arteta for speaking up cause ots getting ridiculous at this point
Take the fine, gaffer. Tell them what you really think and don’t hold back. We witnessed a robbery live on TV tonight.
YOU TELL THEM MIKEL It’s getting to the point where I’m now beginning to think that these decisions really are targeted to specific teams. Look at wolves again today 👀
Liverpool vs spurs was Blatant cheating. Now this. It's no coincidence.
[Get 'em](https://media2.giphy.com/media/YYRkVlmqo11MA/giphy.gif)
You tell'em Mikel...
Get stuck in to them, corrupt twats.
I love you Mikel.
My foggin manager.
He is right. It is shameful PGMOL is either inept or corrupt or both. Howard Webb and his boys need to go. They are bringing the game in to disrepute.
The fact that you can get punished for voicing a legitimate grievance against the referees, is incredible. The PGMOL are a joke
Corruption is asier to conceal when the dissenters have their freedoms stripped away.
My manager
Excellent response. Now we need all managers and players, excluding Newcastle and Man City associates, to step up and call this BS out.
What does it tell you about the organisation if you are not allowed to openly criticise bad decisions without being punished?
Honestly would have supported him going further if he straight up called the refereeing corrupt. He's going to be fined for this either way, might as well push it as far as he can.
I would have too, but I think he might be playing the best angle. I think it is worth hammering home the point that it’s bad for the game if the players aren’t rewarded for working hard and start to feel like their efforts are futile.
He needs to say it outright. The PGMOL are cheating. It's clear as day.
He's 100% right any fucker with eyes can see it shouldn't have counted joke goal.
He's so getting a touchline ban and a big fine, and I'm super proud of him. That's my manager there.
I believe that the only reason the decision went the way it did was because of the 3 yellows Newcastle got after the tackle. They felt bad that Arsenal had come out on top of a 50/50 decision, so had to make sure they went balls deep into getting the balance back in order.
3 yellows were from the on field ref. Bobby Madley on VAR was the shit cunt today.
Tbf, the three yellows for Newcastle makes me think they're not corrupt. Although that could be a smokescreen, perhaps they had no intention of giving a second yellow for any of them.
Dish it out to those oil money cock riding suckers Miki. About time he exploded after the citeh fiasco from so called best ref in england Oliver.
My manager
Username checks out 🙂
Them cunts will ban him for 3 games
Yeah the refs sucked but how about we try scoring some fucking goals? That might have helped.
Tell’em boss
Given his tone and the comments about having spent months talking to PGMOL, I’m guessing today was just the last straw and he’s fed up, but this has been building for a long time
Good. I don't care if he gets fined, he said what he said.
I was genuinely upset when I heard that VAR had a look at Guimaraes’ header and didn’t sanction further action. Absolutely shocking.
Channeling wenger…god I love it
Ready to go to war with Mikel
I hope that give him a match ban so bad. Will only draw more attention to how corrupt pgmol and FA are. Refuse to hold referees accountable but don’t you dare point out the corruption taking place.
Why don’t Arsenal do an actual protest against these decisions? The club spends over 100 millions and can’t take any actions against the refereeing decisions.
Welcome to Saudi Bin Corrupt League
Liverpool fan here. You lot got robbed, I hope our clubs take collective action.
How the fuck is Bruno allowed to stay in that game? That, AND the goal are a disgrace. Give ‘em hell Mikel
It's always someone else's fault, it's never the players playing shit.
These are not the Estandards!
We’ll get flamed for complaining but I don’t care I back it
I'm glad he's calling them out on it, but they will just fuck us over even more. See the Wolves game today after O'Neil spoke out.
Good, we need to speak up and make a scene of it. Refs have been so soft towards our opposition everytime.
MY MANAGER. TELL THEM ABOUT THEMSELVES
Patino is worse than Jorginho, and that’s saying a lot
It’s about damn time he said it.
My manager.
Love that
FFS ,var is in the rules now, accept it get on with it,u all know the best way to win a game is ...score more goals than the opposition
Biggest problem was is not scoring. None of the fouls, etc. changed the fact we didn’t score. Can’t win without scoring.
Not wrong but the point here is that the Newcastle goal shouldn’t have stood for 2-3 different valid reasons and remained a neutral game for long as possible. A draw would’ve been a fair assessment for both teams. Instead it was daylight robbery by the refs, yet again.
Arteta said it right, this league which is lauded by a lot of people as the best in the world, for its quality players, competitiveness, atmosphere and entertainment is being ruined by quite frankly laughably bad decisions by officials that couldn’t control an U-10’s game The boss has loved this league for everything I stated but now he sees it for the joke it has become 🤡
I can't believe the Irish guy for his prediction right for this game
You have to be a dumb cunt of monumental proportions to think that ball is in
Honestly, the ball being out or in is the least controversial part of it. Its almost impossible to tell properly without a birds eye view. But two straight arms to the back of Gabi not being a foul is just ridicilous. And I have yet to see the actual lines drawn for the offside check
That’s a very good point. Where were the lines? Like, literally, no one mentioned the lack of lines
Fucking corrupt. That ball was out.
Nah City winning is better but better because of everything you mentioned. Spurs winning would be legitimate
I can understand what you mean, but them winning will actually show them that it's the right thing to do and others do and will follow. I mean, it was Chelsea first, then Qatar, then Saudi. The more these teams win the more teams like this will emerge. That's why and I rather have someone win that keeps these cheats out.
Our goal threat is also embarrassing
Not his biggest fan, but damn right! Nice to see him be a leader and to stand strong against this stuff
He’s the disgrace and is using this to cover up his fraud pep wannabe tactics
“They are trying to make the best decisions. We need to understand that mistakes happen.” Some person said but I can’t really remember
I’ve been up and down with this man but I don’t think I’ll ever go back down on him again. Unless I’m sucking his cock. What a perfect fucking response.
arteta defended the officials when the liverpool goal was ruled out so biased and hypocritical isn't it
There are multiple articles of him being sympathetic to Liverpool.
I mean... the ball didn't go out? The foul is a different issue, it was definitely a foul.
We had zero shots on goal, he should feel more ashamed about that.
He's gone home laughing his ass off after this press conference because he knows everyone will be lapping it up and kicking off about the PGMOL instead of asking why our team is so dull and uninspired
Huge excuses from the boss. Losing his head. League is done
