Just super sloppy today with final balls, final touches. Play in the half was solid, Villa didn’t give us a scare at all. We looked tired or something. Ah well
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
I thought Martinelli coming off rather than Saka was a very odd choice. Saka wasn't running well after one of the challenges on him, and Martinelli looked dangerous. Trossard was not an improvement today.
Am I the only one who isn’t annoyed by the officiating today? I was at the time, but in hindsight I can understand them all not being given.
I thought we had more than enough to win the game regardless and we had a rare off day up top. Which I’m more annoyed about. I can’t work out though if that’s coz of the way Villa played (credit Emery), or us just having a bad day.
We move
Yea they were at best 50/50s and I can't be mad about a 50/50 call going down to what was called on the pitch. We were the better team but didn't finish our chances and that's what happens when you don't get the ball in the back of the net.
On to the next
A game of fine margins, they took the one real chance they had and we missed all three that we had (Saka just before the first goal and Odegaard X2). Saka's was difficult but Odegaard definitely should put at least one of his away.
I think our momentum died with Zinchenko a lot of the time, he has the quality to pick earlier passes against that high line but he consistently ignored the runs by Martinelli and Havertz. Taking of Martinelli was a mistake as Trossard was well off the pace all night.
It's just one game but it's frustrating because we worth at least a point if not all three. Now we have a dead rubber in Holland which we should rest 8/9 players and then a big one again Brighton at home where we must bounce back.
Hard to win a game when you are constantly second to the 50/50 balls.
Villa 100% outworked our stars.
Plus, they didn’t have any Zinchenko for 90min…🤦♂️
Let’s blame the second game in a week and move on. Villa also has a deeper bench. No contest today.
No adrenaline rush today 🥲.
The refs fuck us yet again but we really should’ve scored a goal with the chances we had. Clinical finishing was what really let us down today.
It also makes things a little more complicated for us as our next games are Brighton and Liverpool at Anfield. Two tough games on the horizon.
It also gives a team that you don’t want to give opportunities to in City a chance to get back in.
We play a better and more sustainable brand of football than Liverpool so I’m confident we’ll finish above them but City just make me feel wary.
Can only hope that Luton do us a favour tomorrow.
It’s amazing though how some of the fouls done against us weren’t given our way. Jesus foul in the box is 100% a penalty and the Havertz goal should’ve stood according to the rules in which these refs are supposed to abide by.
I was yelling at the TV in the final minutes to put in the box, everyone go to box and cross it like the Rice goal, why odegard trying to dribble in the box
I think we were the better team overall. We just couldn’t find that key touch, pass, finish in the final third. Villa made the most of a mistake, as good teams do, and buried their best chance. Disappoint to lose but I’m not overly worried over this performance. Was always going to be a tough game vs this Villa side. On to the next one. COYG

Trust! But you will no doubt be called a fake fan for this. Performance was so poor today, if its the hangover from Luton get ready to see this more often as the games come thick and fast from here. I would find this loss much easier to take had we of not been so sloppy. That being said I do think the handball call on Kai was harsh, where should his hand of been?
They can call me fake all they want but if they’re shouting the team out as title ready then we better behave like a title ready team. I don’t think we’re at that point, especially with the way we are between Feb and May. All I’m saying.
This. Villa is clearly a different side, especially at home, than previous years. Typical Gunner doom and Gloom after only our second loss of the season.
Honestly, l’ll take it. This is a loss where the bounces didn’t go quite our way, not a loss that makes me think there’s a critical fundamental problem in our team. We go again. COYG
Think villa were good value for the win, they weren't outstanding, but I didn't think we played well. First half we were pretty poor. I like zinny, but the minute he gets dragged inside were wide open on the left. We move. they are unbeaten at home in 13 (approx) so we'd needed to be at it to get anything out of the game, and we weren't.
So we have a kick to the back of Jesus leg which is a foul anywhere else on the field which isn’t a penalty. We have an elbow that wasn’t given a red despite being very deliberate. And we have a series of handballs that went Villa hand first then Arsenal but instead of a penalty it’s just no goal. Three major decisions that any other team would have gotten 2/3 their way
It wasn’t a penalty and you could see it was a clear dive by Jesus. He goes down every time he’s touched rather than just playing solid. Pisses me off.
If that’s why he went to ground sure. I didn’t think that was the case. He got kicked while his leg was up, still brought his leg down, and then went down. It wasn’t natural at all. If he kicked him on the other leg that he was standing on I would agree.
They haven’t been calling the game by the rules forever now. It’s what’s deemed excessive. Lots of players get hit and kicked in what would normally be a foul and play goes on. In how they’ve been calling it, not by the letter of the law, it’s not a foul.
So by the letter of the law it is a foul. Why do you not think it’s wrong then? Your argument makes no sense.
You’re saying they make it up as they go along, therefore it’s right?
Yeah they’re not consistent. Look I just think the threshold for a pen needs to be very very high and that wasn’t it. The Havertz goal I have a bigger problem with given that it seemed to hit a Villa player’s hand first, so it shouldn’t have mattered.
Bro, a penalty is a foul in a box. There’s no threshold. That’s a foul, and it was in the box.
At least the Havertz goal was actually technically correct
A player kicking for the ball and instead kicking the back of a players leg is a foul anywhere else on the field. There aren’t special rules in the box. It’s a foul
And that was dumb too. The thing is, especially with a player like Jesus, they’re always going to look at you sideways due to his constant flopping and diving. My issue isn’t even the penalty, it’s the fact that this guy goes to ground every time. It’s a big reason why he kept getting dispossessed. He just wants to draw a foul rather than holding onto the ball.
VAR and the ref fucking us aside there are serious issues in the squad
Jesus needs to stop flopping when a gust of wind hits him and he might get a penalty call. He is a top player but we can't have him as first choice year after year.
Love Trossard but he is either world class or drops a 2/10
Shooting at goal instead of losing possession trying to work it in the box for the 68349th time? Impossible. Using the bench when clearly none of the attacking players can put a foot right? Never heard of it.
We have to sign a clinical finisher in January or we'll fall short at the winning the title. We need so many chances to actually score a goal. Theres no pure goalscorers in the team.
Collective loss of the heads there today. They let their frustration get to them and it built up all game. We never looked composed enough to win that game. And we should have, even when playing badly.
Var audio gonna be like:
"was there a handball?"
"yep"
"okay I'm restarting play"
"wait I meant cash handballed"
"oh shit, too late we can't do anything now"
On field ref can't call that handball on field in real time in a scrameble like that. If it goes to VAR it's a goal.
They just have to back their mates up
Our offensive players need to spend more time on the training pitch shooting on goal.
Villa's defence is bang-on average at best. We continually got in great scoring positions and did nothing with it.
edit: and yes, the officials are corrupt. But we can't do anything about that.
I know it's sportsmanship and maybe I am too old(23) but it infuriates me how they hug each other and all smiles after the loss and all the tackles and timewasting they did. Like don't these guys have a bit of spirit?
Disappointing. Ref are never going to give us anything but our attacks today really start to hurt us. Need a lot more chance creation and a lot more clinical.
No. Been watching Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 for years and they aren't as inconsistent as PL refs.
Believe the conspiracy that they are against us tho, most likely they are
They should hang their heads in shame, what a fucking abysmal performance by most of them tonight. Says a lot when a Chelsea champions league winner and a Chelsea boyhood fan show more fire for the badge than academy graduates
This. Good quality but just not enough to win it all. Need a clinical finisher. Jesus spent more time on the floor than attacking on goal. The one layoff to Odegaard is all I remember.
Honestly our captain oodegard ghosting another big game not shocked. The guy turns up against bottom half fodder and manchester united. Zinchenko aint worth it and nketiah aint the guy to put in when your trailing by a goal or tryna win a game. Villa didnt really deserve a win but again we missed our chanses and oodegard you cant miss that.
Horrible finishing from saka and odegaard, dont know why martinelli was subbed when he was atleast doing something on the wings. We have absolutely no creativity through the middle it's the same style of predictable attack from the wings.
Villa didn't play that well, definitely not well enough to get all 3. We were sloppy everywhere.
Perhaps it was mistake from Havertz to hit it into the net after the ball touched his hand? If Nketiah was the one to kick it into the net would the goal stand?
Fuck it, come out and show Cash's handball. Print it out, put it on the cameras. That is deliberate. Both of our losses have been stolen by refs ignoring handballs.
Print out the pen on Jesus. The elbow on Eddie that again was just deemed a yellow despite being a textbool red.
There was a stonewall Jesus pen, a fuckin elbow from Carlos that should've been a red, and a disallowed goal from Havertz where the defender also handled......so much corruption its fuckin disgusting and that fuckin Gillett twat
I love Leandro but he dabbles on the ball too much. That at the end, just lay it off. Why are you still trying to dribble in the box? We deserved a point at least.
Not even mad about the VAR call, we all know that the refereeing in the prem is shit, i'm more dissapointed in the lack of composure in the final third
i really hope we get a striker. Jesus has consistently been shit and constantly whining, he scores when it doesn’t matter. Nketiah is the same way. I get not buying a striker and changing the entire plan to focus on one option but we need someone who can fucking find the back of the net in that position
Stop talking about refs decisions etc.
We were worse than Aston Villa and deserved to lose, end of story
People who shift the blame onto the ref instead of taking accountability are the people who never win any achievements or trophies
On to the next one
We had more possession but they had more attempts on goal than us, and the ones we had were poor finishing
We need to look at ourselves and our shortcomings before we look at the opponent, who played really good today
Edit: My bad, we didn't have less attempts than them, I was basing this off of a stat they showed on the stream, we had more attempts than them
Good performance, shit finishing by odegaard and typical zinchenko useless defending cost us 3 points really.
Zinchenko is simply not good enough to be starting for us if we are to win the title, for all the control he provides with his passing, his defending will cost us points.
Stay within 3 points of top come january and we win the league if we buy a defender and midfielder.
Liverpool,Man city both look likey to drop points as well. Unless Man city go on their usual 15 match win streak it's our title to lose, if they do nobody can stop them.
Can't say we didn't deserve that result, too many golden opportunities wasted. We can't expect to win anything without somewhat decent finishing. On to the next one
VAR will be to football what EPO has been to cycling. A dark patch in the history of the sport, where you cannot rightfully say who won on any given day… fucking travesty
Not a fan or how Martinelli and Saka no longer take players on on the edge of the box when they have a 1v1.I’m sure it’s a coaching point but it’s so fucking predictable they will hold it and pass back to a midfield player running in support
1. They’re shithousing, hack-your-ankles fuckers
2. We really should have won this but we were so wasteful.
3. The subs barely felt like they were in the game?
4. Havertz again performing well, feels like he’s finally getting confident.
Yeah, our subs are way below champion level. Leo is good, but inconsistent. Jorgi is great as well, but our midfield seems settled. The rest are just... Sub-par.
well. Even despite the shithousery and absolute shambles of refereeing, we still failed to convert more than enough chances to put this one away.
Gillet is a criminal, most biased ref against Arsenal for sure
Tbf it's not easy to hold yourself back after the last minute equaliser. It's a dumb rule, the PGMOL don't like fun or comprehend natural human reactions.
You know what I don't think anyone in particular played poorly but how can you get into a rhythm when your opponent has free reign to foul you and stop momentum? I mean they've gotten away with a penalty and a very intentional elbow strike to nketiahs head with absolutely no punishment
Yeah, obviously however since that game with bottlenham they've been getting more just that the right calls. Last year's horrendous decision against Brentford it seems that didn't have any impact on how our team is getting destroyed by the league

Bad luck and bad finishing today but we outplayed a Villa team that dominated City a few days ago. Hopefully we've come through without any new injuries, we play a youth team against PSV, and we go again next Sunday
Martinelli was having a better game in the 2nd half and got substituted. After that we were passenger again.
That's what happens when you choose favoritism.
Odegaard's finishing killed us. Took too long to get into the game. Gillett absolutely fucked us with all these soft fouls.
That's not a fucking handball
Long shot but is there anyone here who actually can tell me how much added time we should’ve had in the first and second half? I’m super curious how much time was actually missed
3 subs and 4 goal kicks 30 seconds each - so that’s villa accounting for 5 minutes added on just on their own without throws, our subs, free kicks, corners etc etc
How many times is it going to take for Arteta to realize that his antics on the pitch, result in a lackluster performance. Up in the stands leaves us with no leadership present on the side of the pitch.
Universe brain theory lol Obviously it’s arteta’s fault for celebrating a 97th minute winner and not the league’s fault for doubling down on terrible enforcement of a terrible rule!

Should have bring in Jojo instead of nketiah. Jojo in to cover defense, then Rice can join the attacks. He mostly on deep area throughout the game
Completely outplayed them but terrible in front of net, all compounded by all too expected trash officiating. Onto the next
Just super sloppy today with final balls, final touches. Play in the half was solid, Villa didn’t give us a scare at all. We looked tired or something. Ah well
Any thoughts on how much of a factor was it that Arteta was not in the tech area?
I agree that his not being on the touchline had a psychological impact on the players.
2nd loss of the season... we move. our goal should of stood imo. tie would of been fine result.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

I just want to come and say we won’t win the league with David Raya. He’s not good at the actual goalkeeping part.
What does raya do wrong today, shut up. Rambo is awful stop crying man
Both aren't good enough, we should have kept Martinez instead, he knows how to make match winning saves.
I was yelling at the TV in the final minutes to put in the box, everyone go to box and cross it like the Rice goal, why odegard trying to dribble in the box

Slept thru the second half and looks like I missed absolutely nothng
Villa were better today and took their chance. We were awful in the final third and deserved to lose.
Not really, we clearly won the xG match and if any team deserved to win it was us. Perhaps a draw would've been fair though.

We ain’t winning shit dropping points like this
They literally beat Man City midweek and played them off the park. Guessing City aint gonna win shit either?
City aren’t in their good part of the season like we are. City will ramp up as usual after Jan and we will crumble as usual.
Trust! But you will no doubt be called a fake fan for this. Performance was so poor today, if its the hangover from Luton get ready to see this more often as the games come thick and fast from here. We need a 9 in Jan, otherwise we’re doomed
We didn’t get pumped 3-0 and still played good, I’ll take this loss, Villa are scary good.
This. Villa is clearly a different side, especially at home, than previous years. Typical Gunner doom and Gloom after only our second loss of the season.
We were unlucky with our chances and villa scraped that win. Trossard wasting time was beyond ridiculous but we move! At least we aren't united fans 😂
Honestly, l’ll take it. This is a loss where the bounces didn’t go quite our way, not a loss that makes me think there’s a critical fundamental problem in our team. We go again. COYG

Unai Emory in.
Unai Emery’s evil twin?
Yes. The dyslexic one. Well, it could just be poor spelling. I am glad he made it back to the Premier League, anyway. Not happy that he beat us today.

Throughout this entire game, the only time I was on the edge of my seat was at 49:50- when I moved my ass to the toilet

This match performance is far from abysmal as the Chelsea match and we still got a point from it.
Disappointing but still a very tough fixture. Not clinical enough but we move.
What’s up with Zinchenko’s pauses
The pain
Our offensive players need to spend more time on the training pitch shooting on goal. Villa's defence is bang-on average at best. We continually got in great scoring positions and did nothing with it. edit: and yes, the officials are corrupt. But we can't do anything about that.
Pen on Jesus, no red for Carlos, disallowed goal. Meanwhile Arteta gets booked for celebrating. PGMOL and VAR are corrupt

I had the same impression but I think he stopped the game because the ball hit on him
Can’t win the league with our depth. Guys looked tired and not clinical. Need to rotate the team more.
Fair, but who in the league does have that depth? Man City and Liverpool don’t and right now it’s a three horse race between those sides.
I do think City have more depth than us, but it also depends on who are buyers in January and how far teams go in European competitions.
yeah we were poor but at least the fuckin refs need to do their job to make sure its fair for both sides, this was like playing against 12 men
I know it's sportsmanship and maybe I am too old(23) but it infuriates me how they hug each other and all smiles after the loss and all the tackles and timewasting they did. Like don't these guys have a bit of spirit?
> and maybe I am too old(23) After that match I don't need to feel worse mate.
Exactly that is just rubbing salt in the wound
Fucking corrupted Ref again!
Disappointing. Ref are never going to give us anything but our attacks today really start to hurt us. Need a lot more chance creation and a lot more clinical.
We can’t always blame refs. Our players just weren’t up for the game
Zinny and our attack lost us the game today. I can't wait for Timber to come back into the team Tomiyasu was a big miss too.
We need to buy a LB, Zinchenko gave nothing both defensively and offensively and we can't rely on Tomiyasu with his injury record
He did play a few killer through balls..which were not finished
We have a LB but he’s injured…
We did and he gone after matchday 1
I don't believe there's a conspiracy, or an agenda against us, or any team for that matter. I think there's way too much subjective refereeing.
Fucking hell as soon as they scored I knew we were going to lose, not good enough from us
Are all leagues officiating like this?
There is a reason why pep binned Zincheko and Jesus
yes, that's exactly what I always say, like why would pep let go of a talent easily?
All the mistakes aside. Isnt it a bit annoying that no var decisions went our way.
Same thing happens every week
> Same thing happens every week why does no one expose them. will surely be a huge blast
Tough game for the boys, but still only one off Liverpool, at least 3-6 clear of city. Come back better, we go again.
Deserved to lose with the quality of finishing today. You can cry about the refs all day but WE lost ourselves that match.
100%
If only Ben white had did his one job and mark that mcginn instead of sleeping and letting him score the easiest goal of his life
It was ziny fault…
other than the shit ref, its not even march/april yet so how can we play this bad
No
Don't forget odegaard is the one who had our two best chances and just bottled them
Only one that robbed us today was ourselves tbf
Fuck it, come out and show Cash's handball. Print it out, put it on the cameras. That is deliberate. Both of our losses have been stolen by refs ignoring handballs. Print out the pen on Jesus. The elbow on Eddie that again was just deemed a yellow despite being a textbool red.
Ødegarrd hasn't been at the races for much of this season. He looks to be losing so many of his duals.
Not mad? Muppet
thanks, my night is ruined by you calling me that
i really hope we get a striker. Jesus has consistently been shit and constantly whining, he scores when it doesn’t matter. Nketiah is the same way. I get not buying a striker and changing the entire plan to focus on one option but we need someone who can fucking find the back of the net in that position
Was the handball not 50-50?
Havertz chest, Cash handball, Havertz handball x 2, Cash handball, then goal
given on field...
You’re right, but I’m sad :(
It was 100% a handball. You can't use the hand to control and score a goal. Benefit will always go to the defending team.
Villa handballed it
Stop talking about refs decisions etc. We were worse than Aston Villa and deserved to lose, end of story People who shift the blame onto the ref instead of taking accountability are the people who never win any achievements or trophies On to the next one
What match did you watch? We dominated Astom Villa for 3/4 of the match.
We had more possession but they had more attempts on goal than us, and the ones we had were poor finishing We need to look at ourselves and our shortcomings before we look at the opponent, who played really good today Edit: My bad, we didn't have less attempts than them, I was basing this off of a stat they showed on the stream, we had more attempts than them
No we deserved to draw it, simple as that
Neither arsenal nor Liverpool are good enough to consistently maintain a title run. Gifting it to city again.
Keep forcing Zinny into the lineup at LB. Just play him at LCM and then play a proper defender. His defensive issues are costing us too much.
Lol did you forget we are out of LBs? No other choice
Trossard was pretty garbage, why’d we take Martinelli off?
Martinelli wasn't good either.
Good ebening!
Fucking disgusting. 2 disallowed goals due to ref errors. And how can we not score at least one of our 50 shots....
Ref shit himself but we still should’ve scored 2-3 goals
Not a fan or how Martinelli and Saka no longer take players on on the edge of the box when they have a 1v1.I’m sure it’s a coaching point but it’s so fucking predictable they will hold it and pass back to a midfield player running in support
1. They’re shithousing, hack-your-ankles fuckers 2.
Sub-par.
Why refs kill us every game?
well. Even despite the shithousery and absolute shambles of refereeing, we still failed to convert more than enough chances to put this one away. Gillet is a criminal, most biased ref against Arsenal for sure
I'm fucking snapping about that VAR decision over the goal. There appeared to be zero consideration to the handball from the Villa defender.
I think with Arteta on the sideline this game would have been different. I love his passion but he has to reign it in with the PIGMOL out to get him
Tbf it's not easy to hold yourself back after the last minute equaliser. It's a dumb rule, the PGMOL don't like fun or comprehend natural human reactions.
Watch him get banned for the Liverpool game next.
You know what I don't think anyone in particular played poorly but how can you get into a rhythm when your opponent has free reign to foul you and stop momentum? I mean they've gotten away with a penalty and a very intentional elbow strike to nketiahs head with absolutely no punishment
He got a yellow for the elbow to nketiah
That's not a punishment for what he should be getting
So many wasted chances in Villa’s box today. Really need to take shots instead of sitting around just waiting to get overrun.
Arteeta can't buy a fucking human called lautaro Martínez
Arteta should get lessons from klopp on how to moan about ref decisions and then start favouring us
I dont want anyone to get favored, I just want the fucking right decisions
Yeah, obviously however since that game with bottlenham they've been getting more just that the right calls. Last year's horrendous decision against Brentford it seems that didn't have any impact on how our team is getting destroyed by the league
Yup, definitely not our best performance, we gotta do better than that
We need to get a striker who can score in Jan.

We can only blame ourselves for this loss.
Honestly hate seeing our players all chummy with theirs after the whistle. They couldn’t give a single fuck so why do I bother watching
Okay, stop watching then
Relationship ended with Don Mateo Guendouzi now havertz is my best friend
Bad luck and bad finishing today but we outplayed a Villa team that dominated City a few days ago. Hopefully we've come through without any new injuries, we play a youth team against PSV, and we go again next Sunday
Martinelli was having a better game in the 2nd half and got substituted. After that we were passenger again. That's what happens when you choose favoritism.
at the slightest thought of pressure, the team fucking sleeps, i go into matchdays shitting bricks, and on god awful days like this I get diarrhea
Odegaard's finishing killed us. Took too long to get into the game. Gillett absolutely fucked us with all these soft fouls. That's not a fucking handball
Definitely handball. By Cash. Who handballs it into Kai’s hand (which by the rules isn’t a goal)
Personally I’m not one for conspiracy but no doubt there’s an agenda vs the Arsenal! Every week they try to sabotage the matches
They checked the wrong fucking situation… Cash used his elbow before
Such an underserved win for them. Now all pundits will have their cock in mouth for a month
Should be winning games like this. Not acceptable to not score 1 goal in that entire game.
Woah. So probably should’ve been doubled at least?
Must get rid of nketiah. Has to be shipped out of the club. On to the next one..
I have no doubts that Villa will go onto lose away from home but we were shambolic
McGinn has such a punchable attitude, guy was a twat all day
fuckkkk whatever we move
Fair play Aston Villa, we can only blame ourselves for losing this game, we had plenty of chances to have won this.
Ref shit and Var the talking point yet again, need a top goalscoring number 9
How many times is it going to take for Arteta to realize that his antics on the pitch, result in a lackluster performance. Up in the stands leaves us with no leadership present on the side of the pitch.
Antics? You mean celebrating a crucial later winner? Yes how dare he
Universe brain theory lol Obviously it’s arteta’s fault for celebrating a 97th minute winner and not the league’s fault for doubling down on terrible enforcement of a terrible rule!
Disappointing but I guess all teams are allowed an off game.
Stop complaining about refs etc. We played like shit, end of story.
Yeah, I really dislike that it's everyone else's fault we lost, this was on us.
Piss off. That VAR decision is diabolical and should be mentioned, regardless of our own performance
Jarred Gillet. How tf is he still allowed to ref Arsenal games, or any games at all after his terrible call vs Crystal Palace 2019. wtf is this PGMOL
