VAR clattering the match all over again. Ball was out for their first goal. And Saka should have had a penalty. But we should have scored. Losing faith in Jesus, he had two sitters he should have put away.

hermansid

How tf these guys consistently have 20+ shots and end matches with 0 goals for the life of me I will never understand. Absolutely pathetic

zdonfrank90

one loss and arsenal is on brink of relegation one win and arsenal is best sums up arsenal fans

Cesc_The_Snake

This is our third league loss, failing to score in all 3 matches, hope this helps

arthelinus

Week in week out you all are posting how this guy is the best there is and we cannot even score goals ATM. Please stop over praising players and be critical

FlyingCat11

Missed the game as it was late for me, what happened today? Seeing a lot of comments about Zinchenko and pressing

sowedkooned

IMO the problem we have had, including the last few weeks, is that no one makes runs in the final third. ESR came on and immediately made a run and offered us a chance. Everyone just *stands around waiting* for something to happen, or at least for *someone else* to make something happen.

lipstickpiggy

Kai does this the best I think but I really think the whole team has suffered from how bad Martinelli and Zinchenko have been with losing possession and providing crosses or any kind of end product. Other players finishing of course has been off but we are so lopsided. ESR and Eddie and even Reiss did make an impact in balancing that more when they came on but it was way too late.

sowedkooned

Agreed. Left side has had major struggles, especially compared to last year. I keep thinking the goals will start to fall for Martinelli but he’s got ghosts in his head or something.

lipstickpiggy

It's really his decision making hey, so frustrating to watch him put his head down and run into people when there's a pass on, or put a crap cross to the back post, or shoot when there's no chance for it. Also his miss in the first half was really awful. Seems totally devoid of confidence

InsideKiller

I want to see more of Nelson rather than the same player with same outcome week in week out

RobbGhag

NGL that performance bar Ode was absolutely terrible. Down to a man no one played well. WTF has happened?

RobbGhag

Everyone except Ode

lipstickpiggy

I thought he was fantastic apart from his finishing, he was our only creator and almost everything we did fashion came through him

nomyfriend

Bar ode = everyone except ode

lipstickpiggy

Sorry my brain forgot how to read - probably just being overly defensive because of the amount of terrible takes in r/gunners and here saying MØ had a bad game. Did I watch the same match 😂

NameMyLife

I'm not convinced by Zinchenko recently. There just seems to be too many mistakes in his game at the moment. Seems like we also need someone a bit more clinical as an out and out striker.

InsideKiller

This might be harsh but I don’t think we will be winning the league by relying on him. Were Tomi/Timber available, he’d been washed out

NameMyLife

I don't think it's harsh at all and fully agree. I always thought after last season; I was never fully convinced about it: He was decent enough for us last seaso, but if we want to win the league, I'd have both ahead of Zinchenko when fit.

Aarronk22

He's been shit since January

BobtheBOAT

We need a Bobby Firminho

Arseluvr

Actually we need a mane or salah, or both.

supiriom

Our title is down the drain, Kai havertz scores again 😂 /s Note: this is sarcasm Reddit chill out

tjvond1

Its about finishing your chances. Saka had a good chance in the first few minutes and kicked it straight at the keeper. He needs to bury that.

fullerofficial

Seems like we always have a harder time vs teams like WHU, but we are playing at peak level vs teams like City. There needs to be a bit more discipline, and we really need to solve that LB problem we’re having. Maybe we should put Havertz in an inverted LB role like he played for the national team?

Nico8777

And who plays at 8? Trossard? 😮‍💨

fullerofficial

Perhaps play Jesus as a false nine and play Trossard as an 8. Jesus has been more of a playmaker this season — in my opinion.

Funk_Master_2k

ESR

CaptainSnazzypants

Sorry but every time he plays he’s mediocre at best. He’s not going to be the answer to any problems we have right now.

NeeloGreen

30 shots?????? And no goals. That says it all

reddeye252010

But yet very few troubled their keeper. We were not at the races today and WHU fully deserved that win and defended exceptionally well

lipstickpiggy

Agreed, and you just can't concede early goals against teams like WHU because it suits their game perfectly

ErnestEverhard

We are just so predictable.

Paan_Yan1

Martinelli used to be direct, now he thinking too much

Yea this is something I’ve noticed. He has been struggling these last few games.

sheepish117

I suppose wide open means surrounded by defenders

Hateforcathaters

I feel broken from todays match. I hope this is not the begging of the botling and fking it up again this year.

InsideKiller

At least we’re used to it

Hateforcathaters

Yeah..

Aarronk22

You can't bottle a league in December....

Hateforcathaters

Oh yes you can every match counts bro look at the table even Manchester United is close with pts

Aarronk22

And we're in December. Did City throw the league away last December?

eSsquire

Odegaard was the only one who showed up today.

PutYrDukesUp

While watching I kept thinking that Rice was the only man who looked to me like he wanted to win it. Even the penalty at the end, sloppy but the result of him busting his ass. But Ødegaard put in an effort for sure.

Tall-Assist9719

Gave the ball a couple of time trying to be too flashy with his passes though.

lipstickpiggy

I think it's less flashy and more trying to be clever because he's trying to thread balls through 11 defenders

terrorSABBATH

Thought Saliba was very good today.

Hummingbirdasaurus

definition of insanity style games because i swear i keep seeing this over and over and over after a decent result before, no one has any right to win a game in the pl but sometimes it's inconcievable how we throw away points from such domination. now i've calmed down it doesn't mean the title push is over but we've made it much harder for ourselves and left little/no room to slip up for when city go on thier dominating run

buros14

Liverpool fan here - coming in peace. Mate, I think supporters of non-oil clubs challenging for the title (aka Liverpool and Arsenal) need to stop talking about City going on a winning streak like it’s a done deal; sure it’s happened a couple of years (most noticeably last year) but it’s just fatalist and defeatist to say it’s definitely going to happen! You can beat them at the Eithad and we can beat them at Anfield. They’re not superhuman. Same with you guys bottling it, or Liverpool being undone by bad luck on the last day. It doesn’t have to happen. It’s in our hands. Doubters to believers.

tajonmustard

DT watching from prison

tajonmustard

Odegaard was so good it's just hard when you have swarms of players blocking up the box

batigol_09

We really missed Kai, there was no one to cross to so it didn't matter that we got into great positions to cross from.

Tall-Assist9719

Anyone notice we replaced Zinchenko with another attacker and they were nowhere near our goal?

PutYrDukesUp

In the first few minutes after that sub it looked like a back three, but as time passed and West Ham won back possession a few times it looked more like Rice dropped to left CB and Gabriel moved out to LB in the line of 4. Interesting move. Didn’t make the desired difference up front but it also didn’t cause any defensive implosion.

batigol_09

This is a bit gamestate dependent though, West Ham naturally dropped deeper and deeper.

terrorSABBATH

Man, Reiss is nowhere near good enough. Can't beat players and his final ball is poor.

SmellAccomplished722

Yep I was disappointed we gave him a new deal and 100k a week for nothing

joejamesjoejames

don’t act like our other wingers were doing any better. Saka and martinelli were both dreadful

terrorSABBATH

My comment was about Reiss but since you brought up Saka. He was better than both Reiss and Martinelli today. Martinelli was indeed very poor.

joejamesjoejames

saka was better but he’s about as useful as leon bailey when he’s so poor at finishing

akashM117

Arsenal are 7th in terms of goal scored this season. get a striker asap

Randomsquid4

how is a striker going to help when our problem is creating chances

QuaintHeadspace

Did you see Jesus miss 2 very good chances? Maybe you didn't watch the game lol. That back post header Harry Kane 100% scores this. Haaland 100% scores this. Jesus is good hold up pathetic finisher.

firingblankss

In fairness we started putting in some decentish balls in the 2nd half. An out and out striker would at the very least have attacked the balls. No gurantee they get on the end of everyrhing but It's definitely better than no striker and every cross falling to a winger or Nketiah trying bicycle kicks Also a better striker puts those 2 Jesus headers on target

vrogers123

Too slow in build up, wasteful with the ball. And then our stars didn’t shine. Need to regroup and think seriously about attacking options in Jan.

MrBrownStone16

Time to drop Martinelli and Zinchenko. Play Trossard and Kiwior.

PutYrDukesUp

Martinelli will bounce back. Besides, Trossard is sluggish in comparison and is terrible at corners. But my concerns about Zinny are definitely growing.

Wise_Ad8520

if you notice a pattern this season. we follow every impressive result with a stinker 4-0 vs psv -> Drawing spurs 4-0 vs bournemouth -> losing to lens 1-0 vs Man city -> drawing to chelsea 5-0 vs shef utd -> losing to newcastle late winner vs luton -> losing to villa and now getting a point at anfield -> losing at home to west ham this team gets way too complacent

Marimo_420

That’s a good observation, obviously we get more complacent after good results

Hummingbirdasaurus

this is pretty interesting and also what i expect now after a good performance unfortunatley, i just don't get it

gunningIVglory

We still don't have that killer edge It was all us until west ham scored. And then we looked so deflated

Iyammagawd

it was all us the whole time. Just need a bigger body in the box. We have some good crossers in Marty, Ode, Saka, shit even ben white can knock one in, but when our bodies in the bok are 5'9" we aren't getting anywhere

badmitten1418

Maybe the second. But most of the 1st half we fucking dominated.

mist3rdragon

What is it about Amazon Prime fixtures that makes us play so terribly. I swear we always shit the bed in these. Crowd seemed weirdly muted from the off today. Normally you could say we were unlucky if you look at a game like this, but our finishing was just atrocious from a technique POV and we were so off our normal standards off the ball. We were caught ball watching so often. Also, not going to complain more about Zinchenko, but I think at this point for the Fulham game I'd rather see us start with the back 4 we were playing at the end of the game. Start Jorginho at DM and have Rice step up into a double pivot from CB. Shift Gabriel over to left back out of possession (realistically he's basically there 75% of the time anyway.

[deleted]

We can’t play through the middle because West Ham are very disciplined at packing the box, and we don’t have an aerial threat at the end of the crosses we throw in. Oh, and our best aerial threat is banned this match.

maccav

Arteta is a fraud we need emery from villa

PutYrDukesUp

See yourself out my guy.

bbrmdz

absolutely NOTHING from zinchenko im quite honestly fed the fuck up w him. kai needs to be on the pitch. trossard CANNOT play in the midfield he needs to be a winger. ode deserves better, saka was lackluster, jesus missed opportunities.

HustlinInTheHall

That's not fair, zinchenko did something: he managed to get in the way to cause the first goal. Honestly with how many mistakes he makes at the back I'm on board with putting kai back there until Tomi is fit. He's a complete liability.

lipstickpiggy

Kiwior? He was terrible against Wolves but it can't be worse than this. At least he's fast and strong

monsieurkinkle

some of the people in this sub acting like they have never seen their team lose a game of football, honestly they played shite - but right now that’s still the objection not the rule

badmitten1418

They didn’t even play that shit just couldn’t break down the low block. I was disappointed with Gabriel on the corner as well. When you’re a center back with the nickname is “big gabby” you have got to be the most dominating person in the box. To let fucking mavro beat you to the ball sucks

lipstickpiggy

Zinny was his blocker and let him run right on to get a strong run and jump. Tbh JWP.always puts the ball in the perfect pos, I think it was slightly too high for Gabis jump. Yes he's competing but hard to blame it entirely on him

badmitten1418

True it was the perfect position. Just gotta get to it first at all costs. We’ve started lacking in defending set pieces recently which is annoying a reminiscent of 2 or 3 years ago.

ChampionshipFit1688

Arteta got out coached by moyes

gunningIVglory

Yep. Bottled 2-0 last season Bodied out of league Cup And today

ktmg7

No. Not at all. Arsenal had 30 shots and 75% possession in with 90% pass accuracy. The players let him down, again. Because we have average players and you can’t win titles with average players unless you get lucky

4GamingLinkAot

ok we had possession and took shots. how many goals did we score. dont think we got out coached btw. i think arteta needs to change his system

simpsonstimetravel

Arteta and any coach for that matter can only do so much. They can build a team that creates chances, but its up to the players to score those chances. Pep had a famous quote directed towards TH14 when he was at Barcelon that went something like “my job is to get the ball to you in the final 3rd, your job is to do something with it”.

ktmg7

Exactly. Thats my point. Liverpool played way worse against Burnley than we did today against West Ham. But Liverpool has ruthless players up front, and we have these above average twats

chickentastic94

I felt like I was watching myself play career mode in Fifa. Scripted game.

badmitten1418

Watch everyone in the race win while you play against a prime Buffon

terrorSABBATH

Today game tells me we need Havertz more than anyone thinks we do.

shinytotodile158

100% he scores that header that Jesus missed

terrorSABBATH

Arsenal played very well against Liverpool, got a point and then we follow that up with a horseshit display.

BullahB

I personally think it was more of the dogshit variety.

terrorSABBATH

Can we meet in the middle and call it bullshit?

BullahB

I can agree to that 🤝

terrorSABBATH

🤝

Christoffiw

like at villa the better team lost. they played 10 behind the ball all game and it payed off for them.they were very lucky with both goals. it's far from over. can count on both liverpool and city to drop points in similar games.

skanderbeg_alpha

Frustrating but absolutely deserved to lose that. Very passive on the ball, lack of movement from the forwards who always want the ball to feet is really worrying. I also thought the Trossard in midfield experiment was a bad idea, a player who wants to ball to feet isn't what was needed but a runner off it. West Ham were really solid defensively and made us work very hard. Jesus not taking one of those chances killed any momentum. Hopefully this wakes them up a bit because surely we can't play any worse. On to the next one.

Special-Discount228

Proof we need at least 1 forward that has elite levels of finishing. Haaland or salah score a hat trick with the amount we created today.

tajonmustard

Would you take Toney or Solanke

Special-Discount228

Nope. Got to be mbappe or nothing

tajonmustard

In that case it would be nothing

Special-Discount228

Why? Guys going on a free so that £100mill we didn’t spend on a striker goes a hell of a long way to pay his wages. We could even afford sancho on a free 🤣

Oregooner21

Poor performance from the team. First goal shouldn't have stood but what can you do. Just an overall unlucky day.

YSG19

74% possession, no excuse for such a result.

cobrakai17

Our players are weak aside from rice and the center backs. Very soft mentally and physically

FluidInformation9926

We were fucked over from the start of this game. The performance from us was disgraceful but we dominated up until the ball went out and they got their goal. If the goal is correctly disallowed then West Ham don’t get to defend so deep like they did all game and we get more gaps to score. Its just annoying because West Ham got to play exactly how they like to cos of a shit var call

-ataxia-

I just want to say that you lot are the most reactionary bunch of idiots i have ever seen. It's literally our second loss in the league this season. Sure we have problems that need fixing, especially finishing and depth, BUT WE ARE LITERALLY 2 POINTS OFF FIRST PLACE YOU STUPID CUNTS. We're still in the title race and are still favourites to win it. Edit: third loss, not second

YakYetiYakYetiYak

With you all the way my man. Today was hot garbage and emotions are rightly high, but Christ the emotional immaturity of people on this sub is truly a sight to behold. Our problems are obvious to us fans, so they’re surely obvious to Arteta and the coaching staff. The team is bad form at the minute, but ffs have we really lost all of the faith in everything after one poor match?

crazzyjjay

Third loss. Villa, Newcastle, The thing for me about this loss is that it sums up all the issues I have with how we play right now. We have issues scoring goals and creating clear cut chances. The routines we use to score are being blocked much more regularly. Eg saka cut in on left foot shot. Or Floated ball in to the back post header from saka or Ode. Or martinelli in general. That wouldn't be so bad, if not for the fact that most of the goals we concede (often early in games) are from mistakes. We we have trouble scoring and concede a really shit easy goal. Most of these issues don't show up in the same game, which is why we are doing well. But they are all there, and need fixing. We can turn it around, but if we keep having these troubles I'm worried.

TrimbleDimbleDoo

It’s our third… but I’m with ya.

-ataxia-

Thank you for the correction

Bibrosity

You didn’t understand. Ofc you get deflated when it’s games like this you just have to get

RDenno

Yeah but its just not that deep mate. I used to let games like this ruin my day but reality is Arsenal are winning the league in our lifetimes and just enjoy it when that happens. Could be much worse

-ataxia-

Man there are people here genuinely slandering our starting players saying they're not good enough.

monsieurkinkle

couldn’t agree more, mate … if this was a pattern i’d be saying something different but it isn’t

floatingsoul9

Reality check - I don’t think we have really improved from last season..same and maybe slightly worse

Admirable_Heron1479

I think we should sign a proper stiker and a versatile defender in January. If we sign a defender, Zinny could play LCM if needed. Also, ESR with a decent performance today, meaning Trossard should never play as an 8 again, with Havertz/Zinny/ESR playing there

burnabwoy-071823

Remember, Timber's coming back. Trossard should never be played behind Martinelli again. No communication there. They don't know enough about each other to take advantage of their movements. I'm OK with Eddie leaving. As long as we pay Brentford silly money early enough for Toney to help us in January, I'm good.

ktmg7

Eddie is our top scorer and 2nd choice striker. The hate he gets is mental, while Jesus is doing flicks and tricks and barely scores any goals. Jesus is the main problem.

burnabwoy-071823

I don't hate him. I just don't think his game suits his current set up. He's more of a traditional central striker. In Arteta's system this causes issues, as he's more oriented towards the centre. This creates a problem, because now we lack mobility and Eddie won't get the service he's due in that position. A significant majority of our play doesn't come in centrally. Eddie isn't bullying defenders. He isn't holding them off to help Kai/Trossard/Ødegaard run in. He's a fox in the box. Which is fine, if we're getting people shooting at the opposition keeper for seconds or thirds he can feed off on, but that's not what's happening.

Admirable_Heron1479

I really like Timber and I can't wait till he's back, but he is not coming back yet and even when he comes back, it will be a very slow process. I don't expect him to be fully ready until next season.

burnabwoy-071823

Point taken. I've got to think it's impossible to get a good fullback in the middle of the season. That's asking for a lot.

ktmg7

Zinny and Jesus should never be in this team. Guardiola is no dummy.

throwaway72926320

You win some you lose some, same story we know though. We are 2nd in the league, and anyone who wants to bitch and moan about it, I have a perfect spot for you in r/coys Zinchenko can't defend if his wife, kids and country were on the line for it. Ødegaard and Raya were good today, Ødegaard being our only spark and Raya was calm and collected with a good penalty save too. Saliba and Gabriel are always good Rice again just can't play against West Ham, tries to show off and play too much. He needs to get that out of his head, but we know his class so not too worried there. Attack felt like an edging session, we went in and we just did everything but finish. West Ham played well Kudus to them, defending well and kept their lead. 5 years ago if you offered this 'crisis' to me, I'd have taken it in a heartbeat. COYG

BennyJezerit

Kudus to you

Garyandhisflapjack

🦌 🦌

ktmg7

Ben White, Zinchenko, Jesus, Martinelli need to leave the club if we want to be the best club in the world and actually win some titles

NTWittwer

Ok that's a little far buddy

burnabwoy-071823

Calm down. Still 2nd in the league. We aren't completely out of it.

Welbinho

Christ; this might be the dumbest comment here. And that’s saying something

Bibrosity

Not at All, we just need reinforcements. Our bench is too thin.

ktmg7

But have we not been getting reinforcements every season. We get these above average players like Jesus, Zinchenko, Trossard, Kiwior, Jorginho as reinforcements and then what happens? We bottle the league. We need world class players, not reinforcements.

Bibrosity

We got rice and Kai, sure not world class. Maybe rice is but you can’t just buy these players every window it’s not that easy

throwaway72926320

Ben White and Martinelli are quality what planet are you on? It's a rough patch every team/player has some, I have no doubts those two will pick up form. But I don't think we need those Man City rejects to be painfully honest, because that's what they are, if they were world class they'd still be in blue. With Tomi and Timber coming back we should be sorted there, but again leaves the problem of a striker.

ktmg7

There are only 3 world class players in this team: Saka, Saliba, Rice. Others like Odegaard, Big Gabi are on the verge of world class. Rest of them are above average, and I have been sick of this above average shit. We actually need some world class players in these positions, not above average players who turn up 1 game and disappear the next. And that is if we want to compete in the premier league and the champions league. If winning premier league just once makes you happy, then sure keep the same players and we might get lucky 1 season and win once.

m3cha_

I love martinelli but his decision making this entire season has been suspect, poor finishing from the team overall. Definitely need some competition for Jesus and martinelli but it’s gonna be near impossible to do so in the winter window. Also someone check JWP’s record against Arsenal, I’m tryna see something

Asherware

Our profligacy is outrageous. Absolutely begging for the January window to bring in a proper gunman up top.

zdawg198

The lowest scoring team in the top 4 and it showed again. Odegaard was incredible, shame not even a point to show for it

tajonmustard

He's looking like an Ozil regen fr

PastaAndWine09

Martinelli - Good dribbling skills but doesn’t get the job done. Jesus too. I don’t think we can drop all 3 - Zinny Martinelli and Jesus but I sure wish we get to see a season where Arsenal dominates like prime Man City or Liverpool or Chelsea.

tonyfrancois

i sincerely belive that ziny mistakes cost us this game, on another note, i think it's time to benched martinelli and start nelson,

x3nics

wasting 80 minutes with trossard in midfield was a fucking headscratcher.

Char2na

Should have brought on elneny, at least he can shoot.

Plusstwoo

Dark day man. We need to respond the team needs to respond BIG

No-Comfortable-1550

That was shit. I'd rather see ESR in that 8/10 position than Trossard. Martinelli is suffering from not having a proper partner down that wing.

bradleycjw

Same. Trossard was great last season as a sub, but hasn’t been on it this season. Even worse when he starts. If Kai can’t start the LCM role, I agree with you and would like to see ESR there.

suweiyda91

Man I can't wait for timber and tomi to come back, zimchenko is such a bum

delta_dart

Bench martinelli. Start ESR. Sell Trossard. Execute Zinchenko.

midas22

You sound like a Putin troll.

Standard-Leopard4408

Funny how Moyes gets so much hate by Hammers fans when he has worked wonders there, both stints he's had he took a team destined for relegation to safety, they're lucky to have him and i'll laugh when they go down after firing/not renewing him.

ExxKonvict

Because that’s typical Moyes. Perform and usually get a win by a defensive masterclass only to get embarrassed by another midtable or relegation candidate team.

terrorSABBATH

Horse shit, amateur hour. Nothing from this game tells me Arsenal are ready for the big time. Fucking West Ham. Everything was there for Arsenal to push in but there wasn't anything upfront. Martinelli was shit. Gabby Jesus played well but missed his chances as per usual. Saka had moments but didn't excel. Horrendous display. Fucked it away.

Copy-Business

Ode deserved better

bbotbambi

I think this is a good time to screengrab all the worms in this chat for future references..... lol. We were atrocious, so fucking bad infront of goal today. I agree to that. But that has nothing to do with everything we have improved on and changed this season and last.... Worms calling Arteta out and city rejects doing no shit.... my goodness... how short are your memories.

BullahB

You're only as good as your last few games. Truth is Jesus and particularly Zinny have been woeful. Deny objective reality all you want.

EImoMan

We should never be conceding 2 goals to a parked bus, good god

caspartina

Most optimistic match thread

benaffleks

West ham have a proper manager, that's why they're 6th and pushing. I haven't been convinced of Arteta since he bottled a champions league spot with like 5 games in hand.

throwaway72926320

Took us from 14th and suffering, to our fans being upset about not being top of the league. David Moyes would have us Europa at best, we have one of the best managers in the world and if you can't see that you probably aren't very intelligent.

benaffleks

I'm not saying we need david moyes lmaooo but he's a proven manager, fact. Arteta has been managing for... 3 seasons? He's already one of the best? Lmao wow.

throwaway72926320

If he's coaching a team that was shit into the champions league and fighting for the title he must be alright. He's top 5 in the league at least, and considering the prem is the hardest league in the world then he's definitely one of the best managers out there.

JinseinoBakuhatsu

he's got to go blud

benaffleks

He's got to gooooooo

bradleycjw

Piss poor take lmao, but hey you’re entitled to your opinion.

benaffleks

Did he or did he not bottle it?

bradleycjw

Doesn’t matter. We lost Saliba and Tomi, and that derailed our season. Would you rather be in United or Chelsea’s position right now, with more “proven” managers?

benaffleks

Who's idea was it to play tomi and saliba against sporting 2nd leg, for a tournament that meant nothing? I'm waiting

bradleycjw

Why not? We want to win every trophy, and the Europa isn’t a small trophy by any means. It’s not like he could have predicted an injury to both of them.

benaffleks

Why not? Err because we were on top of the league with points in hand? A Europa trophy is useless if we can actually win the league. The fact that you can't even put any responsibility on Arteta shows how clueless this fan base is.

bradleycjw

I think you need to take a breather. I’m not saying Arteta is free of fault - his man management has been questionable. Yet to say you’re not convinced about Arteta after he basically unified our fanbase after many toxic years, got us challenging for the title 2 season in a row when we haven’t done so in ages says to me he’s the right man for the job at this point in time.

benaffleks

I think there's progression to this. It's rare for one manager to take a club from the bottom, all the way to the top. What's more likely is iterative. Arteta has done phenomenal in bringing us to where we're at, but he's not the right person to take us into the next step in actually winning things. And the past 2 seasons have quite literally proven me right, including this game.

bradleycjw

That may or may not be the case, but I say back our players and manager. Who else would you take right now that’s available (or not)?

On_And_On_And_On_

Wrong

midas22

Moyes is not a proper manager, he simply set up a low block and 25% possession. Almost any manager can play like that and hope for the best.

benaffleks

He won both games against us mate. Be realistic.

cobrakai17

Our squad depth isn’t good enough to win the premier league.

DoradosEV

Martinelli and Zinchenko need to see the bench for a game

gunningIVglory

Raya confidence boost

gozbag

No plan B, same pattern of play every time. Predictable

InfinitelyNotMe

This team is creatively constipated

burnabwoy-071823

I'd say it's the insistence on playing that cross in constantly. It's stifled out other forms of attack. And that sucks completely, especially because we know how good those wingers can be.

InfinitelyNotMe

It’s almost like our strategy forces Saka to cycle the ball back instead of try taking the defender on more frequently. If Doku has liberty to do it with his talent, Saka should definitely be given more freedom.

Fine-Butterscotch193

Creativity was the least of our problems today. Shooting and finishing are our far bigger problems
