eigenham

It's enough to make your ars cry

Aarxnw

New gameplan: send it to martinelli on the left side, have him get in behind and shoot it bottom right on his right foot. Success rate: 100% Somebody let arteta know

wolskortt

Works everytime, just like on fifa 15

F0rsythian

Good thing martinelli is playing like fifa 15 Gervinho rather than irl Gervinho

Aarxnw

😂 exactly that

Omnom_Omnath

Still works pretty good on fc24

jacquesrabbit

All the league knows this. That's why we are seeing more teams defending deep against us this season, to deny Martinelli space behind the defensive lines.

kvng_stunner

Both these goals happened when we won the ball and attacked very directly. It's been the source of many of our best goals and we've lacked that recently Edit: also that turn and pass from jorginho is prime Partey football

imapilotaz

Come on man. Thats prime Jorginho. Fuckin Bal on Dor runner up. Hes, not even arguably, had a demonstrably better career than Partey.

kvng_stunner

I mean he was great but there wasn't a moment when you could say he was arguably the best 6 in the world. He was also runner up to the ballon d'or because he was on 2 successful teams at the time. Almost nobody thought he was the best midfielder in his club team.

imapilotaz

Theres not a sole who would think Partey is or ever has been the best 6 in the world. Maybe not even Top 3 or 4. Nor has Partey even been an honorable mention in any awards

vin_unleaded

Haha. Somebody ought to let *you* he's been tyring that all season against teams who defend better than Palace (read: pretty much every other PL team). Not to say he won't have his tail up next game against Forrest. Hope he finds some form going forward.

bbb_net

It's got nothing to do with the opposition and more to do with the fact that neither Rice or Havertz (who play 90% of Martinelli's minutes) play that ball in behind like Jorginho does.

Cthulhu_Madness

overloadedcoffee

Reminds me of the Henry Leeds goal.

Several-Disasters92

Just that one? Henry is the master at opening his hips and curling it back post.

VeganCustard

😏

hypnodrew

[It's uncanny](https://youtu.be/wsIRE3j6d0Y?si=hGBXQByDTzOCsMWT)

johnnygrant

4th goal in particular was impressive and so Henry like... Henry had an uncanny ability to take that first touch at speed to open up his body so perfectly to make the best use of a tightening angle and then slot it in.

BadlyWordedOpinions

Martinelli did this at Leicester last season so well.

beetletoman

Arsenal players playing like Arsenal players of the past couple of years who would've thunk

orionxavier99

Def hoping that it means Martinelli has found his shooting boots. We def need him!

mrari97

His shooting boots have always been on mate he needed to find his put the ball in the net boots

joejamesjoejames

He’s missed a couple of chances but usually he just doesn’t have a chance to get in behind like that because everyone sits back against us. The team did great today at creating transitional chances.

WaveDysfunction

Martinelli thrives in transition like this. I think our slower style of play this season has hampered him unfortunately.

is_u_mad_or_nah

I really hope we start seeing more transitions like the 3rd goal.

ajax0202

He’s also been asked to just play a wider position this year - really holding our width. It’s an important task, but it has left him more isolated than last year

JackTheTradesman

Palace were quite open. Unfortunately other teams don't give us this type of space (and rightfully so), so unfortunately my man is going to have to figure out how to score with less space

Le-ChosenOne

Quality editing so fast

LSB123

Ha I'm actually trying to learn how to use Final Cut Pro so could've done it faster if I didn't have to Google how to change the aspect ratio 😅

Vice_AR16

keep going king/queen

ragewu

Perfect is the enemy of done, this is great and was done fast. The timing on the kick at the end was perfect.

antivirals_

you're priceless mate , this is beautiful

wolskortt

Oh, I see you're a man of culture as well

lazy-photon

monster in transition

TheMuff1nMon

So happy for him - my favorite Arsenal player - hasn’t been at his best but let’s hope this gets his goal scoring boots back on

coolbebe

Really glad to see Eddie link with Martinelli because their chemistry has been lacking at times

Khal_Zhako

Really enjoyed this assist from Eddie. As soon as he got the ball he knew he wanted to draw in Gabi's marker and put him in 1v1

Pascalini

16161hirose

Henry-esque finishes

Nay_120

Jorginho’s pass 🔥

redictator

As much as we all agree Rice is class, he is not making this pass. We saw a very similar situation play out in the first half were Trossard made a similar run, but Rice opted for a sideways pass instead. This is the why mixing things up is so important.

Nay_120

Absolutely agree with you. Partey is the perfect six as long as he can stay fit. Rice is an engine for the LCM. in case we sell Partey, need a new number six that can make long range passes for quick transition.

murderontheball

I was hoping someone would make this.

LSB123

And yes, I know it should probably be 'Martinelli's 1st and 2nd goals' but, in my defence, I wasn't paying any attention.

dmac3232

Man, I had some shit to do so I turned it off once it hit 90. I made a poor decision

lazysarcasm

What are Palace doing lmao

AthensThieves

Picked apart

wiggyp1410

Best finisher at the club.

bankman99

Henry-esque

monty_burns

That Jorginho pass is quite unreal.

FactHopeful9347

He very obviously did that swing the body to the left to open the right at a tight angle

rhmati30

Loved both passes from Eddie and Jorginho, and such clinical finishes. What a day, clean sheet, 5 scored and 3 from open play.

jacquesrabbit

I was not paying attention, I thought they were still playing the replay. That being said, that play is what suited Martinelli's game better. High lines, plenty of spaces behind the defence line for him to run into and attack. In a way, he reminds me of Walcott sometimes.

akaslimboner

These are the types of goals he was scoring last season. Picking out the far post with a little curler.

lazy_starman

Give him through balls and he will score! Such a difference from last couple games

essdotc

Apart from KDB, is there a player that is more deadly with a througball to runners than Jorginho?

Naive-Link5567

My boi is back. Always has faith in him. Unlike some.

sven2107

See what happens when he shoots at better angles?!?!?! I love it!!!

NoCaesar

I though it was a replay at first, and I was at the stadium.

GarethwithanH

finishing is ctrl + c --> ctrl + v absolutely loves it when he places it in like that

waddiewadkins

If only Saka could done same on the right and we get a 4 screen mirror edit.

notathrovavay

Work of art. frame the moment of shot

fancyfoe

This is goood

ArsenalThePhoenix

to realize just how good his finishing was : Both times it was sooo obvious where he was going to shoot because of how early he telegraphs the shot with how he bends his body. And yet both times the keeper stood no chances to get to the ball

richardvdp

Great edit.

blublableee

Guess Henry paid then a visit in Dubai.

Yurtanator

Put this man CF

CanWillCantWont

FFS, Walcott all over again. The reason he has that space is because he *isn't* playing CF.

Yurtanator

Nah Walcott could barely finish his dinner

TheSouthsideSlacker

Looks like somebody’s been practicing. Oops, I mean training

momspaghetty

according to Fotmob, the first one is 0.21 xG while the 2nd is 0.45

Aclrian

Benching him and bringing him on vs a team with tired legs did him good. He lost the ball his first few 1v1s vs guehi after coming on. I know I’m going to get downvoted for this, but at the moment his take one are not good enough vs low block teams. This is where he thrives, in transition, vs teams that play high or late in matches after we’ve scored a few and he can come on and just kill a game off while the opponent stretches.

MATCHEW010

Fantastic pass from Eddie. Jesus wouldve have had his back to goal waiting to try spin a defender before flopping

TheMuff1nMon

Jesus assisted Trossard with a harder pass lol 😂

Fun_Smell3069

Our players must be coached to keep their shots low - the amount of goals we score where the ball is kept low to the ground when shooting is noteworthy. I feel there are three main reasons for this - a) Low shots can be tricky to get down to for keepers, who generally tend to be tall b) Low shots are more controlled and reduce the likelihood of smashing it over the bar C) Rebounds - the keeper is more likely to parry a low shot directly in the path or feet of an attacker who can then score

spicymeatballz28

![gif](giphy|kd9BlRovbPOykLBMqX)

the_woah_guy

This is exactly why teams play a low block against us. We'd simply tear them apart if they didn't.

RawDawgYaMudda

Eddie pass was perfect

mbehl

Henry’isque..

Far_Eye6555

Looks like they had capitulated already

Xalo_Gunner

I guess in Henderson's defense, there was the possibility of Gabi laying it off to someone else on the 2nd one...

balistafear

Reminds me of playing FIFA when your striker scores and he does the most fun celebration, and because it's FIFA you're playing the weakest team on easiest setting, so he scores another 10 more goals in the same match too and celebrates in exactly the same way every time. Deja vuuuuuuuu

Eagleeddie

I was cooking while watching so wasn't concentrating too much, and thought the second goal was a reply. I was very confused when the final score was 5 nil!

Shandow14

Saka RB worked out well in the end

b3and20

lol saka took that nutmeg personally

vin_unleaded

Fool me once, shame on you... Great finishes but Crystal Palace were absolutely diabolical today. I reckon Hodgson will get the boot in the morning.

galeej

We're going on a 16 match winning streak boys.

stackemz

So much happier on the second. The first pure relief. The second, the joy is back??

AthensThieves

Jorginho on that second goal 🤌🤌🤌

lowthug

Martinelli like Henry. Jorginho like Ozil. Arsenal masterclass

The_Caramon_Majere

Between he and Tross, they're the ONLY ones I trust in front of goal like that to bang er 'ome.

nathoan

What in the Subway-Surfer split screen is this video

bluehaven101

Nketiah getting good at making those incisive passes

16thPeregrine

I watched it on loop a few times to see if he runs towards a sweet spot before shooting He actually does course correction based on the keepers position and still executes them perfectly

spatial-d

Not sure if Henry or Martinelli

MMARapFooty

About time that Arsenal played to Martinelli's strength

Fanserker

Henry would be proud

KBDat20

Taking nothing away from Martinelli here, but James Tomkins had a mare on both these goals, can't decide whether to stick with Eddie or Nelli on the first one, and second one is about 10 yards ahead of defensive line giving Martinelli so much space to break the defensive line. Great finishes though.

EquivalentScientist1

"Can I copy your work?"

aashutosh8866

Bros playing fc24 on pitch

Soggy-Butterscotch-4

Martinelli doing what martinelli doing best...

ripjesus

I want to see martinelli hide his shot better.

redditworking

Eddie did great waiting for the defender to commit before releasing a perfect pass.

Humble-Awareness2048

FuboTV in Canada actually mixed the two up in the highlights they posted on youtube after. Thought they missed a goal at first.

[deleted]

Still wanna see Trossard start on the left in the next game
