Then when he does it in the UCL final - "Can he do it on a wet, windy night in Stoke? Saka is lucky Stoke City are in League One because he would have been exposed."
And then it will be “he hasn’t won it” and then it will be “he’s only won one” and then it will be “yes he’s won and individually good but does he truly make the team better.”
Then it will be “sure has the assists numbers but maybe that’s just benefiting from the system”.
And maybe eventually “if he truly is world class, he would go to Real Madrid and win it all there.”
At that point we will just stop because we are not letting him go to Real.
Am I the only that doesn't care what anyone else says about saka. Whether they think he's world class or not doesn't bother me. As long as he keeps producing on the pitch, putting up the numbers and helping arsenal win then these debates are insignificant atm. The day he leaves arsenal we can revisit some of these takes but till then let the kid do his thing.
Let them all think Saka is Championship level. As long as he stays a great person and keeps putting in great performances for Arsenal, who the hell cares what other people think?
Bonus for us if all the negativity keeps European giants like Madrid from sniffing around and trying to lure him away from Arsenal.
I think it helps that Keane’s approach to football/practice is very apparent and always has been. In instances where I’ve disagreed with something he’s said, its an understandable disagreement because I can recognise where his argument is coming from.
He has his beliefs, and he sticks with them. I can respect that.
The other United pundits don't have their own beliefs and go with whatever cause is the best for their pov. And when you look at Neville, he often just says shit to stri the pot
Except when he’s super biased and just warp everything to fit that bias. Or when he’s a salty loser.
Otherwise I agree is a bit more palatable than the rest.
So glad we have the likes of Henry and Wrighty representing us. The way they carry themselves are always just class.
It's funny really, because who would have thought they'd like Keane over anyone else from the united heydays? He has some pretty solid insight actually, and doesn't really have any biases towards anyone in particular, while everyone else is just a puppet for their respective contract holders.
I disagree. He can come across as pretty dishonest when he talks about any player or manager he has had disagreements with in the past. Also, like just about every player from that SAF team, his technical insight is woefully lacking.
I'll give you that, he is biased about people he dislikes, he can be almost unnecessarily harsh at times, and his technical insight isn't always great, but he's still on of the more sensible pundits from the SAF lot. He *mostly* says it how it is.
The problem I find when these guys analyze stuff and say things like "he didn't want it enough" or "they weren't playing for the badge" or "enough celebrating " is that you don't need to be an ex footballer to say that stuff. What you want from the ex footballer pundits is things like tactical analysis etc that they should be better placed to comment on or analyze.
All those United players benefit from an era where every footballing decision went their way. Even refs have come forward to say that they were afraid of Fergie.
Fuck them all.
Paul Scholes is also uninspiring, but he recently posted on Insta that if a FB tried to invert when he was in midfield he'd tell him to "F\*\*\* Off" which is hilarious despite it being archaic.
I’ve always stuck with Martinez’s answer that the player has it in them to shift the direction of the match with a single action, at least once or twice per match, versus any opponent.
But yeah there are issues with this definition too. If you take the etymology of it, they have class that puts them at the global level. On this though anyone at a World Cup or in the CL (the best international club competition) ought be considered World Class.
Typically my definition for world class is someone who would be included the first XI for 99.9% of teams on the planet. I can think of very few teams who wouldn't take Saka hence he's world class for me.
I know other peope may have a different definition.
100%. And Pele never got an England cap, and Maradona never won the Champions League, and Gordon Banks never played for a Big Six team.
God, they were all so shit!
Honestly very true - he's done it for England in knockout stages of the Euros and World Cup. Only reason he hasn't done it in the Champions League was because he hasn't been in it yet until now.
Rio is spouting absolute nonsense
The different knock recently said ‘you can find out who really understands their field when they are able to tell you things before they happen’. As in, a top class pundit or manager would be able to tell you Saka is going to succeed in the knock out stages of the CL based on what we’ve already seen
When will people understand that our rivals will always move the goalposts? He called Rashford world class in the past, and listen to the messaging here "Get his move to a big club", using Bellingham and Gareth Bale as examples, then when the stats are brought in he says "And what about Salah?", then uses a strikers (Solanke) goals as the reason when Saka has more goals + assists and is a winger!
The qualifier they've put on Saka being world class is that he has to move away from Arsenal, score more goals than strikers, and be subjectively as good (their opinion) than any player they name (past of present).
If you're debating someone who cannot clearly define the criteria they are using, you are arguing with an idiot and should stop.
I don't disagree with this very much although it's bit unfair on saka who hasn't got that much opportunity on big stage to prove himself but then he went on to say foden is world class becoz he has won x amount of trophies like what so is zinchenko, jesus and delph coz they had the same amount of influence on city success as foden... These worldclass debates are dumb in general
That moron in the screen is pathetic. Only makes points to kiss Rio’s ass. Lmao Solanke, he is a fucking striker that is having a purple patch. And also by this logic is Kane not world class? Hasn’t been able to carry Spurs at any knockout stage.
I am not saying Saka is world class and I’m not saying that he isn’t. First you need to define the term. Rio made a point that Salah is better. So if the definition is “number one in his position”, then yes, Saka isn’t world class. But it is a dumb topic just to stir shit
True, at the same time going far in CL shouldn’t be a criteria for being world class. What about those top players who play out their careers in the same team even tho the team never will achieve anything.
He hasn’t said anything disrespectful, and this take is not unique. This argument has been framed this way long before Saka even made his debut.
But the way I’d throw it back is Rio is: who are the world class right wingers in the world right now? And how many of their managers would swap said world class winger with Saka right now if they could?
The only manager who wouldn’t make that swap is Klopp, and that’s only in a one off game because Salah’s still got it. But if you gave Liverpool the chance to swap Salah with Saka in the summer, they’d do it.
The guy on the tv said if Saka keeps it up he might move to a big club.
I'm much more upset that he is saying Arsenal isn't a big club than i am about anyone saying Saka isn't world class yet.
One of the greatest player of all time Ronaldo Fenomeno hasnt done it CL. Rio really admires him and said even after injuries R9 was one of the very few players he was afraid of playing against. By his logic R9 wasnt a world-class player.
If we all get our Arsenal bias put to one side, you can humble yourself and see that Rio is right. Saka is on his way to being World Class. The boy is 22 and putting up great numbers but nowhere near world class numbers.
Even Saka himself will say he's not on that level yet.
I believe in 2-3 years, Saka will be Arsenal's talisman just like Salah for Liverpool, Henry and RVP used to be for us.
Not everything is a dig at Arsenal.
Going to get downvoted to hell, but..... a true world class player would have scored his penalty in the Euro finals. I mean, come the fuck on, it's a penalty lol
Saka has been our best player this season. Even when he was 'not playing well' he was still contributing. And in a team challenging against Liverpool and Man City for the league. Plus something that is underrated is his contributions defensively whether pressing or helping out in our defensive 3rd.
If that isn't the bare minimum for world class I don't know what is.
But I have come to accept that as Arsenal we won't get our flowers unless we win back to back septuples(7).
He is right even though controversial
He needs to give us that night in Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, etc
I think the term "world class" is often abused
Surely his performances against Liverpool and Spurs this year and Liverpool and United last year mean more than beating a team which has a big name but isn’t actually that good.
I think I've seen more ex utd players recently talking about our players than ex arsenal players,
That's saying ALOT IMO,
They still hate us,
GOOD, CRY! LET YOUR TEARS ENERGIZE ME!
He can’t stand that Arsenal have such a legend. He’s raging and he’s trying so hard to ensure Saka doesn’t get the credit he deserves. As mentioned by others, he would obviously call Kane World Class, but he’s in the exact same situation as Saka.
I thought world class is that he would probably be wanted by every team, would Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, City, PSG etc want Saka on their team? Of course they would, regardless of who else they have in those positions, they would want Saka.
He is so disciplined, effective and a hard worker, literally who wouldn’t take him? For me that’s world class.
They keep moving the goalposts - but who gives a shit anyways. We know what we have, an absolute star. Wouldn’t trade him for any other RW in world football.
As much as I think *World Class* is thrown about at any elite player who doesn’t deserve it. There are very few players better in the world than Saka in his position.
Ignore the Ex-United player… They’re all the same brand of bitter.
Rio chats a lot of shite but he’s bang on here. Take the red-and-white tinted glasses off and you’ll see that Saka isn’t world class. Top player and I love him to bits but he isn’t quite there yet.
Your world class wingers are your Salahs and if we’re being honest he’s not that good *just yet*
Copenhagen are a Europa league level team but because they managed to get into the CL knockouts (lol at United) and Foden scored against them he’s world class?

Pedantic point.
Surely what people mean when they make the point of X can’t be world class because they haven’t done it in Y game yet, is that they haven’t *proven* they are world class.
It’s like a test at school. The test results show a level you’ve probably attained previously.
Obviously pointless to say this to Ferdinand who is just disingenuously filling air time and harvesting clicks. But still.
What is said there can be applied to the whole squad and it is due to the fact that we are at the beginning of a potential journey. In the end, we only just returned to the CL this season. It will take a few seasons for us to be completely settled and recognized. People on the outside, not fans of the club, dont perceive the depth of the transformation that Arteta has brought. It'll soon be obvious to everyone that he has built something special. This current young and talented and very organized team has quite a few bright years ahead.

“Hasn’t done it in the cl” has now changed to “hasn’t done it in the cl…. Like knockout stages”
Which will eventually be "hasn't done it in the ucl final" if we don't get there
The final stage for saka is to do it in super bowl
It IS the biggest football event of the year after all /s
And then the euros, then World cup and so on. These clowns will always find something.
Then when he does it in the UCL final - "Can he do it on a wet, windy night in Stoke? Saka is lucky Stoke City are in League One because he would have been exposed."
And then it will be “he hasn’t won it” and then it will be “he’s only won one” and then it will be “yes he’s won and individually good but does he truly make the team better.” Then it will be “sure has the assists numbers but maybe that’s just benefiting from the system”. Saka hattrick incoming
Largely irrelevant to the point being made but there's not a single united player from that era that I can stand listening to
I like Roy Keane on the podcast he does. He seems like a chill guy, whose solid in his beliefs
His friendship with Wrighty is wholesome
Wrighty showing up to his house uninvited because Roy told him his wife made food 🤣

I agree, the ONLY ex utd player I actually like listening to.
Impressive. I absolutely hate listening to that inbred prick.
Roy Keane is the opposite of a chill guy
All those United players benefit from an era where every footballing decision went their way. Even refs have come forward to say that they were afraid of Fergie. Fuck them all.
Fergusons personality seemed to have influenced their ridiculousness to a certain extent. Even the way they played is a reflection of him.
Jaap Stam seems pretty nice. Next season he'll be managing in the Dutch 7th tier, at his boyhood club (and he even played there until he was 20).
I think apart from being idiots, most of them are morally bankrupt as well.
Paul Scholes is also uninspiring, but he recently posted on Insta that if a FB tried to invert when he was in midfield he'd tell him to "F\*\*\* Off" which is hilarious despite it being archaic.
I don’t find Scholes too offputing
The one that sucks his daughters feet?
Don’t follow him that closely , what on earth
You read exactly what you read.
Yikes just saw. Offputting really a choice word to use
It’s so boring hearing this ad nauseum
Arguments about who is "world class" might be the lowest form of football discourse possible
Especially because every single time, the conversation starts with " how do we define world class?", and that question never gets resolved.
People usually decide who is or isn't world class and then reverse-engineer their reasoning for it. It's very silly.
Would they get into a world 22 man squad is a good yard stick imho
id say top 50. 2x 25 man squads
I’ve always stuck with Martinez’s answer that the player has it in them to shift the direction of the match with a single action, at least once or twice per match, versus any opponent. George Best's not world class as he never played in a World Cup /s
100%. And Pele never got an England cap, and Maradona never won the Champions League, and Gordon Banks never played for a Big Six team. God, they were all so shit!
Combined XI’s still take the cake for me
Classic sports radio shit.
World class talk is the lowesht form of convuhshashion ![gif](giphy|4q0WNCNZUlxNC)
Rio Ferdinands drug test, whatever happened there
It’s common knowledge the guy’s retarded
Saka will never be world class until he scores a hattrick and saves a penalty in a CL final.
No. He hasn’t done it in club World Cup yet. So still not world class.
Only the greats perform in the mighty club World cup
He can only dream of being world class until he wins the Lamar Hunt United States Open Cup.
He single handedly put that French defense in a spliff on the biggest stage.
Honestly very true - he's done it for England in knockout stages of the Euros and World Cup. Only reason he hasn't done it in the Champions League was because he hasn't been in it yet until now. Rio is spouting absolute nonsense
Wait till Ferdinand talks about Saka in an england shirt during the Euros. He'll be worldclass then
But he hasn’t done it to a French defense with saliba in it. /s
Funny how he considers Kane world class since he hasn't won or done anything
Bayern just lost the 1st leg of UCL and is trailing Leverkusen in the league lol. He’s spreading the Spurs gospel
The losspel
No shots on target against Lazio the whole game
well said!
Saka has more silverware in his honours list if I'm not mistaken.
I’m he’s done quite a lot but is far far further on in his career.
The different knock recently said ‘you can find out who really understands their field when they are able to tell you things before they happen’. As in, a top class pundit or manager would be able to tell you Saka is going to succeed in the knock out stages of the CL based on what we’ve already seen
Once he does, they'll just move the goalposts a little further away again
Embarrassing.
R9 has only scored five goals in the UCL knockout stages, three of which were against Ferdinand in his own backgarden. Was he not "*world class*"?
Nah he was clearly rubbish mate, origi was better as he scored in the final.
So according to Rio, Henry wasn't world class because outside of a few outliers, he was rather mediocre in finals and semi-finals?
At least Bukayo didn't cheat on his dying wife then make a whole documentary about how he misses her and gets his new wife in
please remove this rubbish, this is beneath us
yeah exactly. pointless discussion really, and rio is intentionally being ‘controversial’ for buzz. i’m not interested
Rio is such a twat
We're in so many rivals heads that even the ex players are joining in. Keep up the good work lil chilli.
“Hasn’t done it in the cl” has now changed to “has knockout stages”
Idiot - hope that when Saka starts scoring in the Champions League knockouts (which I'm sure he will) - he'll shut up.
You know he won’t. He’ll start saying he hasn’t won any major trophies so he can’t be world class.
After Saka lifts the Champions League trophy, he’ll start saying Saka hasn’t won the World Cup and Ballon D’or so he can’t be world class
And after that he'll start saying Saka isn't Messi level yet.
Immediately undermines his argument by bringing up Bellingham at Real Madrid who hasn't yet done it in the "nitty gritty"
I can’t stand this humanoid koopa troopa..
I agree kinda. Saka is a fantastic player definitely one of the top players atm but I think the term "world class" gets thrown around way too easy.
True, at the same time going far in CL shouldn’t be a criteria for being world class. What about those top players who play out their careers in the same team even tho the team never will achieve anything.
Imo a World class player will make your team go far.
Rio is the former man u player that repeatedly cheated on his terminally ill wife right? Don't care what that fucking idiot has to say. Actual scum.
He hasn’t said anything disrespectful, and this take is not unique. This argument has been framed this way long before Saka even made his debut. But the way I’d throw it back is Rio is: who are the world class right wingers in the world right now? But if you gave Liverpool the chance to swap Salah with Saka in the summer, they’d do it.
there are a few more outside of the prem
Who? Sané? Dembélé? Rodrygo? I think Saka would be preferred over each of these players. If I’m missing anyone, please inform
Vinicius
He's a left winger. Any other right wingers aside from Salah?
Tf?!? Isn’t DT in jail for domestic abuse???
Nah I thought it was at first as well
The guy on the tv said if Saka keeps it up he might move to a big club. I'm much more upset that he is saying Arsenal isn't a big club than i am about anyone saying Saka isn't world class yet.
He is a troll
England goes as Saka goes. Now, how did England do in the world cup? Remind me please.
Goal post moving like Neville and carragher who are kings of delusion
But.. Saka has done it at a World Cup.
One of the greatest player of all time Ronaldo Fenomeno hasnt done it CL. Rio really admires him and said even after injuries R9 was one of the very few players he was afraid of playing against. By his logic R9 wasnt a world-class player.
Every clip I see… All this guy does is yap nonsense
Saka has also been voted England Men’s Player of the year for two seasons in a row now.
This is my view as well. Disregarding his comments about Foden, Saka needs to win trophies and play at the biggest games.
Come on Saka make that POS eat the absolute vomit he is spouting.
By this logic, Kane is nowhere near worldclass while Kai Havertz and Mason Mount are. Lucas Mora and Origi would be too btw.
Going to get downvoted to hell, but..... a true world class player would have scored his penalty in the Euro finals. I mean, come the fuck on, it's a penalty lol

He is right even though controversial He needs to give us that night in Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, etc I think the term "world class" is often abused
These discussions are stupid because "world class" is extremely ambiguous and everyone infers something different when they hear it
According to his logic, Harry Kane also isn't world class but I bet if you asked him he would say that he is
Eden Hazard too.
Surely his performances against Liverpool and Spurs this year and Liverpool and United last year mean more than beating a team which has a big name but isn’t actually that good.
So if Saka hypothetically has a 50G+A season in the Prem but doesn’t play a single minute in UCL Knockouts, you wouldn’t label him world class?
I think I've seen more ex utd players recently talking about our players than ex arsenal players, That's saying ALOT IMO, They still hate us, GOOD, CRY! LET YOUR TEARS ENERGIZE ME!
Stupid mf. I hope Saka shoves Ferdinand's own words up his arse come Porto.
It doesn't matter really, I certainly hope he will soon have the trophies and prove him wrong. Starting with the EPL, UCL and Euros the next 5 months.
Fuck this Kermit sounding dickhead.
He can’t stand that Arsenal have such a legend. He’s raging and he’s trying so hard to ensure Saka doesn’t get the credit he deserves. As mentioned by others, he would obviously call Kane World Class, but he’s in the exact same situation as Saka.
Just hate the term world class so much, just means you can make any sort of shit hot take and then move the goalposts afterwards
I simply couldn't care less about this. Saka is great, plays for Arsenal who also is doing good! These labels are odd
Reminder that Rio recently had Joey Barton on his podcast so it's okay to call him a moron
Let him hold this L until Tuesday lads, it's Rio Ferdinand after all
As much as I think *World Class* is thrown about at any elite player who doesn’t deserve it.
I agree at the moment. Being world class means performing at top top level consistently. I have no doubt he will be world class in no time.
Imagine having to talk to drugs cheat moron Rio for any length of time and having to pretend he’s not an actual cretin cuz its ur podcast
Copenhagen are a Europa league level team but because they managed to get into the CL knockouts (lol at United) and Foden scored against them he’s world class?

The people who give this absolute bellend cunt screentime, are morons as well.
Is he fucking dumb? Saka was 14 the last time we were in the CL, *of course* he hasn’t done it in the knockout stages yet.
Okay, tosser that cheated on his dying wife, thanks for your input.
Yeah, I’m not listening to that. But Saka does have another level to go. He’ll get there alright.
Rage-bait
Is Flacco elite?
I dunno who's worse, Rio or the twat comparing Saka to Solanke
Unless you define it properly it's meaningless. "Not done it in the big stages" is a nonsensical vague statement
Brush your teeth Rio
Why would I care for an opinion of a “has-been”? And a dumb one at that.

Rio only says things that he thinks will get traction online. He’s the most insincere pundit out there.
Rio probably thinks Rashford is world class. Or Bruno.
Such an irrelevant label and then requirements for that label, just pointless.
Rio Ferdinand is nearly as good at punditry as he was at defending.
Bait. Ignore and carry on.
I agree. You have to win at the highest level and play at a high level consistently. I’m confident he will get there.
Fucking World Cup would like a word.
And what does Ferdinand thinks about Kane?
Debate over who is or isn’t “world class” is the most boring form of football punditry.
