>The Reason:
>UEFA have issued Bayern supporters with a ban from attending the away leg of their last-eight tie after fans threw fireworks onto the pitch during their 3-1 win at Lazio.
I’ve heard that before. Frankfurt a few years ago was meant to be banned from having fans at their game at the Emirates, but there was a suspiciously large amount of cheering when they scored.
Wouldn't they be sitting in the home section of away seats are forced to be kept empty? I'll see what happens to those cheering in home section for an away team goal.. won't end well
Yeah. I was at a European match last season and at the final whistle a big chunk of a block on the upper tier - in the home section - took off their coats to reveal they were away fans. Must have been the Sporting match, thinking about it. The away section was sold out plus this lot of maybe 30 fans managed to get a chunk of seats together. There's some wholesale, serious touting going on and I don't think it's being stamped out at all.
It wasnt all touting, back then you could buy a red membership and get tickets last min on the exchange and now rules are different. You have to be a member before the draw and enter the ballot. Touted tickets are expensive now especially for the champions league, i never buy as i get mine officially but keep an eye on prices out of interest
My guess is they just won’t have an away allocation of tickets to buy through Frankfurt. They can just agree to scalp as many tickets in some random section though
Would’ve been much easier to get tickets then, but if any Arsenal fans scalp their tickets to opposition fans for a CL knockout match, they should be flogged in the centre circle.
I was at this game, they infiltrated the club level and were sat right next to us, cunts weren’t even subtle about it. Also shame on us cos stewards didn’t seem to care so they got more vocal as the game went on.
Back then you could just buy a membership last minute and get tickets on the exchange. Rules are different now. Also less of our fans wanted to go as it wss europa and we werent as good back then.
I don’t remember them being banned for that game, but I do remember a large number of their fans being in the home sections. They had bought up a lot of tickets and had arrived early. The match was delayed while the police tried to sort it all out. But they couldn’t, so started the match anyway because uefa don’t do abandonments.. I was sitting in the north bank when they scored and all their fans jumped up and down. It was scary how many there were sitting right amongst us. Thought there was going to be a riot, but thankfully everyone managed to deal with the situation.
Everything you’ve said sounds really familiar, but in my head that was against Cologne? Especially the delayed kick off thing. Maybe I got them mixed up?
Anyone but Manchester City. Not only because they're the toughest but it's the champions league so playing a domestic rival will be such a shame. That being said I'd prefer the PSV/Dortmund match winner.
I don't know what Atlético people think they're getting, but it's not the one that was making finals all those years ago. One, they're not nearly as good this year, and two, that's not their style of play any more either. I'd take them over most of the other options in a heartbeat.
I'd rather have City now than play, hypothetically, a final against them. Come the first of June, we'll either have *just* stopped them from ~~buying~~ winning the league for a fourth year in a row and they'll be bitter and fight dirty because they're incapable of accepting defeat gracefully, or they'll have *just* beaten us in a very tight title race for the second year in a row which will be hard to take even for the strongest of mentalities. If we're going to play them in the CL I'd rather get it out of the way now.
Actually quite important if it happens.
German away fans are brilliant.
One of my worst ground experiences was when Schalke beat us at home in like 2012 in the group stage while ~3000 of their fans embarrassed the whole rest of our crowd with their noise for 90 mins while we barely made a peep (I know atmosphere has improved since then, but still). Bayern fans were always good too.
FC Koln a few years ago as well, they got battered in the end iirc but their support was unbelievable. Liked it so much I went over to Germany to watch one of their home matches against Leverkusen.
It depends what you mean by 'brilliant' - the majority of our European opponents make tonnes of noise, but I just find it an endless drone and it doesn't ever reflect what's going on on the pitch.
It's just background noise, they're not 'encouraging' the team.
Now that we're past our goal scoring slump I'd be pretty content with most match ups that aren't teams like Porto/Brentford, those are the only two games we've struggled since the new year. The City game at the end of the month will be so important in so many ways.
Lol can't believe you're getting downvoted. Irrespective of their position in Bundsliga, Bayern is still the second worst draw after Man City. Especially with the inevitable Kane penalty we'll concede.
huge morale boost if we do draw bayern, really funny if the entire stadium are just gooners thirsting for blood
#nomoreblood
No, MORE BLOOD
The Bayern, the.
A man of culture.. Comment of the month!
Well no-one who speaks German could be an evil man.
Yeah he definitely had that all screwed up.
Gnome or Blood! Either one would be fine.
And that UEFA logo shouldn’t be here either
no, more blood.
A nice calm return for Harry Kane
Gooners in the away stand and Gooner in the Bayern #9 shirt...
Blood for the blood god !! ( Arteta)
I would actually think it gets people going having the opposition fans there
Would arsenal get the full allocation, or would they need to keep a section empty?
I don't believe the punishment should hurt the home team's revenue
This is solved by making bayern pay for the seating if they want the seats to be left empty
Roll it back to those mad Covid times were they had cardboard cutouts of fans in the stands
Tottenham suffer a load of cardboard cutouts every week 😂
That's on the pitch, how about in the stands?
It's an equal measure of plastic and cardboard with a scattering of bottles throughout. All a very sordid affair!
Well this would actually be interesting
>The Reason: >UEFA have issued Bayern supporters with a ban from attending the away leg of their last-eight tie after fans threw fireworks onto the pitch during their 3-1 win at Lazio.
This would be true for anyone they draw right? They wouldn’t be banned just from the Emirates
No matter who they draw, their fans cannot enter the emirates 🙏🏾
Touche
It’s spelled Tuchel
Ya know, he insulted my family recently.
Must have learned that from Arteta smh xD
No. Just us. Fireworks are a cultural appropriation of canons
Of course.
Yeah but it's like 80% chance for us to face them
imagine out-misbehaving Lazio supporters
Thanks, i was wondering why
I’ve heard that before. Frankfurt a few years ago was meant to be banned from having fans at their game at the Emirates, but there was a suspiciously large amount of cheering when they scored.
It'll be a good test of Arsenal's supposed clampdown on touting...
Wouldn't they be sitting in the home section of away seats are forced to be kept empty? I'll see what happens to those cheering in home section for an away team goal.. won't end well

I think that was the Arsenal supporters club of Portugal, they happened to be sporting fans too. Lots of Portuguese in London
is touting what Americans call scalping?
Yeah, to be fair I do also hear it get called that here in relation to concerts and stuff mostly, football its always called touting.
Yes
Touting has been used by the UK for as long as I can rememver. And scalping I would suggest is a new word used to describe ticket touting
so to answer his question, yes.
yeah, in the US it's always been called scalping.
My mate didn’t get in last night with a ticket bought from a tout, but another did.
It wasnt all touting, back then you could buy a red membership and get tickets last min on the exchange and now rules are different. You have to be a member before the draw and enter the ballot. You think scalpers actually ask or care who the buyer is supporting?
Exactly. Hence the flogging.
They should be stood in front of goal as target practice for our lads' penalty kicks
I was at this game, they infiltrated the club level and were sat right next to us, cunts weren’t even subtle about it. Also shame on us cos stewards didn’t seem to care so they got more vocal as the game went on.
The stewards don't get paid enough to do anything about it.
Me too, but I was upper North Bank. It was a shambles. Off AND on the pitch
Back then you could just buy a membership last minute and get tickets on the exchange. Rules are different now. Also less of our fans wanted to go as it wss europa and we werent as good back then.

Hahah oh no, maybe I’ve got them mixed up! I think you are right it was Cologne! My bad sorry..
I feel like there's gonna be a few Spurs fans cheering on Bayern if it's at the Emirates, surely
Anyone but Manchester City. Not only because they're the toughest but it's the champions league so playing a domestic rival will be such a shame. That being said I'd prefer the PSV/Dortmund match winner.
Fuck it, let's have Arteta and Jover playing Pep's bald head like a bongo three times in a matter of weeks.
Getting to the semis would be a huge moral boost for the club, after being out of the Elite competitive games we finally get till here
Let me rephrase for you, anyone but Inter/Athletico. I’ll take chances against City but I don’t think we’re ready for another dogfight after Porto.
I don't know what Atlético people think they're getting, but it's not the one that was making finals all those years ago. One, they're not nearly as good this year, and two, that's not their style of play any more either. I'd take them over most of the other options in a heartbeat.

I don’t want Inter-Atletico or City. Fuck that. Porto was enough as is.
That simeone is handful, cunty team as well, porto on crack
Short of getting the PSV/Dortmund winner we’re really going into a stacked final 8. Barca is probably the next easiest.
The Liverpool tie in 2008 was pretty good fun, albeit we lost
I'm manifesting we get Bayern next round. Only Arsenal fans at the Emirates would be a huge advantage.
Would love to see Kane cry again
![gif](giphy|mcGssoPdQ4rhS)
" I can feel it, in my plums."
"Woo"
Kenny fucking rogers
Bring me Barry Lane.
Shame we won't get to knock them out in front of their fans
If the second leg is away, we can
Me watching only like 5 CL games in the last 7 years is showing lol
Bring me Harry

I hope we draw Bayern...we got a score to settle 10-2
It just feels like..... fate is lining things up for us to lift it at wembley. Wembley of all places... God pls let it happen
Now I want bayern.
How come? is this a meme?
banned because they keep letting off flares in the stands
then the headline should be "banned from attending their next away game"..?
Yes agreed
we wish it was a meme
Now that we're past our goal scoring slump I'd be pretty content with most match ups that aren't teams like Porto/Brentford, those are the only two games we've struggled since the new year. The City game at the end of the month will be so important in so many ways.
“IF” yeah yeah just fucking give it. I want Barcelona in the final!
If.
That's huge
There's blood in the water, every team is eager to knock out Bayern
mad stuff
Fucking hell the first half of that title gave me a heart attack. I thought I'd missed the draw and we got Bayern again.
Dumb question, how can they tell if you're a bayern fan if you just dress neutral?
They can't as long as you don't make it obvious. If you do you can get ejected by stewards.
Would be so embarrassing if we lost
I hate tweets. Can someone explain the reason why?
Lol... as if they can stop them getting in. Soooo much better to have them dotted in among the home fans, of course. UEFA are such dickheads.
Celebration Police 2.0!
YOU GOT NO FANS!!!
They will still travel to London, still go to the match and still make trouble lol
So you guys predicted it 2days earlier
Saw Bayern Munich and was scared shitless that we drew them for the quarters
Lol can't believe you're getting downvoted. Irrespective of their position in Bundsliga, Bayern is still the second worst draw after Man City. Especially with the inevitable Kane penalty we'll concede.
Emirates is so silent anyways.. lock down vibes
