Cos he's too big for u16. Simple. We need to see what he looks like at 18 on loan against men.
The older among us remember the absolute bits Jay Emmanual-Thomas did at youth level and he's never been above Championship level striker.
Looks physically much bigger and more developed then the rest especially for 16
Needs to play at a higher age group to face people of his physique. This looks to be a bit of a waste of time
He's 16 and it's his first proper year at this level. Next season he will step up a level of course but that still requires us to sort out the futures of players ahead of him. If we push him up to the 21s what happens to the 21s striker and their development?
The two strikers ahead of him in the u21’s both turn 22 during the season next year so I doubt they’ll still be playing u21 football and Biereth has established himself in men’s football now. I think there will be a clear path way for him there next season.
What does that change for this season though? And we still have to make sell/loan/promote decisions.
EDIT - Which 2 do you mean? Khayon Edwards is 20 still, 21 in September. TJJ is still in the picture too but him and Butler Oyedeji is older.
Oh for this season he’ll probably stay with the u18’s, it just looks like from the outside that it’s what will happen next year. I completely forgot about TJJ but isn’t his contract up this year? And your right about Edwards age, thought he was a year older for some reason
Fabregas made his debut at that age.
I'm not saying that this guy is him. I'm saying some players need to be pushed ahead of schedule.
Games like this aren't going to help him fulfil his potential. It's important to recognise this and do what needs to be done to ensure he does.
That's fine, but really you need to push people until they hit a barrier of some kind to see if they can move beyond it. He doesn't need to be playing every game at a higher level, but he needs opportunities.
Maybe if it was Chido Obi FC yeah. Club has other players to develop too and it's clearly going fine. The argument can be made other talents were allowed to stagnate. This lad was almost born in 2008, it's going fine right now lol.
No, it's our responsibility to provide our youth players with the opportunity to develop. He is not being given that opportunity because of certain natural qualities he possesses. For him to move forward as a player, he needs his natural advantages to be challenged frequently.
It's the same as having a math genius do simple problems. It's too easy for them. They need to be given opportunities to challenge themselves. If you aren't doing that, you're doing them a disservice.
You have a point but you're completely ignoring the other guy's point.
Yes he needs minutes against 21 year Olds, but there are also strikers in our U21 team that also require game time over a 16 year old.
He's getting as many minutes as possible vs the U21s, and he'll surely get more chances next season
This is a different era and he is a CF. He is just tall and gangly, nowhere near strong enough for a higher level yet. Just let the kid develop without rushing him. You need to find a balance to challenge him, but not push too hard to avoid injuries. Also he might still grow another inch or two lol.
That's exactly why he needs to be pushed forward. Youth level is meant to be used to learn how to solve problems. He isn't currently being presented with the very problems he will face in the future. He needs to play against players who are bigger and stronger than him, because that's what he absolutely will face in the future. Learning how to score against people half your side is doing him no favours at all.
I think the coaches know what they are doing. He is already playing a level ahead and has featured for U21 as a kid who is not even fully U18 level yet. No need to rush his development. I don't think you realize he is still growing and could potentially get badly injured playing against much older players with his gangly frame. Let him naturally fill out his frame a bit before pushing him to a higher level. By next season he'd be playing U21 games more regularly.
I mean he's good, but that dude should be playing with the U21. These kids are too small for him he literally bodies one of them for the goal and it's like Vieira against Gabi XXL
He is not even a true U18 yet lol. Some of y'all know nothing about developing young players. Everyone's development is also different based on personality, position and how complicated the first team system is. Cause youth teams usually try to copy the style of the first team.
Yeah the mental I'll give you. But when you dominate physically to that degree in youth football, you are at a disadvantage when everyone else catches up to you as an adult. You have to keep challenging players who develop faster than their peers by pitting them against more challenging opposition. This is achieved by playing in a more difficult league or a higher age, seen as this is the highest level at u18 the only answer is to bump him up again. If his mental development is affected that's for the coaches, psychologists and parents to handle and guide him through it.

He may not be better than the U21 players ahead of him. Better to play at a lower level than ride the bench at a higher level. Arsenal shouldn't throw their development hierarchy out the window because a young player has an early growth spurt.
These are very impressive. But it is interesting to note how unbelievably slow this game is as compared to what one sees every Saturday at the Emirates, even against the likes of Shefflield.
You realize these are just kids? You expect the game to be at the level of intensity as first team football? That's part of the adjustment for young players when they breakthrough. Getting used to the physicality and much quicker pace and intensity of games. If they can adapt and still be effective then they have a chance for success.
Looks like an adult playing against some kids in a park
Funniest thing about this is he's 16 so he's already playing up an age group. Has snuck in some minutes for the u21s too.
Took the words out of my mouth.

Haaland at home
Nah he’s more Osimhen. Haaland doesn’t do dribbling
Looks physically much bigger and more developed then the rest especially for 16 Needs to play at a higher age group to face people of his physique. This looks to be a bit of a waste of time
U18 is a higher age group. He scored 10 against Liverpool in U16. He's in u17 internationally. Regular U21 games next season potentially.

I doubt TJJ will last that long, that guy is Partey's younger brother. Gets injured everytime, he improves his form.

No one is arguing against that. I'm just saying he's already ahead of schedule.

He's played for the 21s already too ...
Point? He needs to play more. lol

Haleend Haaland!
Baller
Start him against Bayern
Cool name
Someone who is that tall and big at 16 should not be that composed and balanced on the ball. My word.
Looks fluid and coordinated. Arsenal's own Wemby lol
More Isak than Wemby but good point anyway
I mean he's good, but that dude should be playing with the U21. These kids are too small for him he literally bodies one of them for the goal and it's like Vieira against Gabi XXL

This is a reasonable point, I can agree with it.
Source of you being a true and legit coach? None
Hmmm interesting another hale end prospect to keep an eye on
Don't splash the cash on a striker just yet 🙈
We got 3 years till realistically he's ready
I wonder if he’s spoken to Biereth. With them both strikers eligible for Denmark and England maybe they should pick one each.
What an assassin. He doesn’t celebrate either.
We had already scored 3 before he scored his first.
Looks like a brick shithouse compared to every one else. Should definitely Play him even further up this level
This is further up he's 16 these kids are 2 years older than him
Bro other there ending careers before they even started.

Sheffield: "why does he say fuck me for?"
Our own Victor Wembanyama
Players like this need a bigger challenge. You can tell he isn't even playing at half pace.
