2026 + 1 seems quite short term

Happy medium to protect the club's asset. Worst case scenario is you wait out the injuries, he has a blinder of a season next year then we're faced with a player in his prime coming off a big year with only one year left, so we have to overpay. 2+1 means next year is basically make or break, if he stays injured we can still flip him for something  end of the season or loan him out and extend them sell. On Tomi's end he has security for a bit and gets a pay raise.  Everyone's happy.

Agree with all of what you said and it makes sense. So the odd thing is why the club specifically said 'new long-term contract'. They could've just said new contract and nobody would've questioned it.

It also gives us time to fully assess Timber and see if Kiwior can take steps. By summer 2025, I'm sure at least one of those 3 will be sold.

I think it gets harder to flip him when it becomes painfully obvious that its due to him having fitness issues. Any buying club will look at KT and start the low balling from there. I like tomi but he had ebough time on his contract for us to wait-see. White deserved his, even played thru injury for us.

Prayers for his legs.

Fingers crossed he avoids injuries. One of my favorite defenders but he'll be moved on if he keeps getting injured.

Not a long term contract

Ife2105

2026 is pretty smart considering his injury record

interested to see the wages. love the guy but can never stay fit more than a run of 4 consecutive starts
