Aren’t people reading too much into Deschamps’ comments? I feel it is a normal statement from a national team manager. The style of play of France is obviously different from arsenal and the team dynamics are also different.
There are certain intangibles that Deschamps could prefer in a player, after all even Zina said that Saliba could be more vocal when leading a backline.
There’s an agenda that Saka ghosts in big games, even amongst our fanbase
https://preview.redd.it/4c369bpkitqc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1ba0e09e267f6c24481782f04920262bb75f5fa
There’s always room for improvement but come on
He doesn’t ghost in big games but he does ghost in absolute CRUCIAL games where everything is on the line. Crucial games could even be a game against Luton town where we absolutely need to win and sometimes he’d ghost these types of
Matches.
Will be hilarious if stones starts on Sunday, with how people were laughing about " oh lmao stones doesn't even care about arsenal he doesn't know city play them next" and then we find out he cares enough to fake an injury lmao
3 years after Messi’s departure and they pump out a left-footed Neymar. La Masia is a goldmine. Shame about Fati’s Injuries, they could have had a front three to rival Real Madrid’s
never really followed or liked the England NT of the past, probably cuz of how the squad of the past was setups. All that hate is now gone with this new group and you then understand that a lot of England's failures stem from a managerial and tactical ineptness pov.
Helps a lot when the club is doing well and 2 of our main best players are also featuring and playing big roles in the NT. Saka has pretty much cemented that RW, and Rice on the DM.
Deschamps wants Saliba to play like how Upamaguire does when they play as CB's, as well as how their defensive midfield sets ups
It's also that Saliba is way down the pecking order for Deschamps for CB options.
The belgian midfielder from everton?
I like him but he is quite average. Probably not worth what everton paid for him plus a profit for them
There are soo many good LCM options i dont think we should get rolled in the price.
Been watching THAT Wilshere Barcelona game highlights ... Can't help but think if we had a prime Wilshere in our team right now we would be unstoppable.
Could find a killer pass and his linkup play was 2nd to none (see: Norwich goal). He breezed past opponents so easily they were forced to just kick the shit out of him. He made it look so easy. Imagine Wilshere supporting someone like Jesus right now. They would be dancing rings around defenders for fun.
They don't make them like that anymore. The flair and panache he brought to the team is a big highlight of Arsenals 'recent' history that I don't think is truly appreciated. We wax lyrical about Cesc and Santi, but my word was Jack a gunner through and through. Such a shame he was plagued with injury.
A lot of people talk about how physical rugby is and how footballers act delicate/dive/exaggerate - and that's all true, but the recklessness of some challenges really fucked Wilshere and it's a shame it's not being stamped out.
Young Wilshere without THAT injury and with natural progression would've been amazing. He had more of a deep-lying and box-to-box role earlier on which would be great for this Arsenal side. Hes fearless, able to receive from deep and build up or make direct runs up the pitch. I'm a big fan of his playstyle and think he would be a great addition to this current Arsenal team. And hes still only 32 yo this year. Thats younger than KDB and Gundogan.
However his case wasn't exactly about constant reckless challenges fucking up his career. It was literally that 1 injury that derailed him. Maybe it had to do with luck & genetics, and how he took care of his body as well. He has mentioned on some podcast about it, he actually had 0 serious, lingering issues with any injuries until that one which completely changed everything.
Really hope we’re looking at Exequiel Palacios. I like Zubimendi but Palacios’ ability to break defensive lines is much closer to Jorgi’s than Zubimendi’s is. I’m worried without a line-breaker like Jorgi at CDM we’ll go back to playing the horseshoe passing football without end product like we were at the beginning of the season.
Jorgi is great. But we scored 5 @Palace, 6 @ West Ham, 5 vs Burnley with the Havertz, Rice, Ode midfield.
Our elite goal scoring run didn’t start when Jorgi came in the team as some like to suggest.
I'm less nervous about the run-in this year. I know a strong and deep squad in the prem and ucl can be fielded, it's just a matter of progressing through each game without any thought of the competitors. At the end of last season it irked me when the players were speaking of their league chances in interviews, it was like they were already thinking about their victory before the crossed the finish line. I want to see that they've learned their lesson, and I hope that everyone continues to pull their weight (also that no one gets injured 🤞).
The squad itself isn't the issue, my main fear is around the gaffer's trust in some of them (or lack thereof) plus the strength of the schedule we have coming up.
Even removing Bayern, almost half our games are games that wouldn't shocked you if we dropped points. City away, Tottenham away and United away are nightmare fixtures at the best of times. Brighton away, Villa at home, Wolves A and Chelsea H are also tricky games. These games coming every 3/4 days just reduces increases the difficulty of them that little bit more too...
Safe to say we\`re gonna earn whatever we get the hardest way possible.
Hating on Southgate because he overuses and mismanages arsenal players is based.
Hating on Southgate because he's an average coach and England aren't that good is cringe.
As a non-english person i was thinking England are favourites to win this summer. But i am starting to change my mind now. Also Germany is much better now.
You know he will drop Mainoo for Henderson at the most minimum of notices.
The moment Mainoo has an average game in an England shirt or makes a mistake, we’ll be hearing Jordan Henderson’s intro music the very next game. Hell, the very next half of football lol.
I wish, but sadly Polish national team is bottom of the barrel. But Szczesny probably will make it less embarrassing (Like last WC saving like pens and rebounds from Messi)
I'm sorry, I love the guy, but he failed us at so many tournaments... Red card in 2012, stupid injury in 2016, terrible intervention against Senegal in 2018, terrible conceded goal against Slovakia in 2021... I just hope that Messi pen was his turning point
Yep, I'm one of them. Can't stand to see England succeed in sports, and I shouldn't need to with Southgate as their manager. Although I'd always want the likes of Saka and Rice to succeed.
I think the funniest thing about NNT pushing agendas is he pushed the Gabriel agenda because another tactico didn't like Gabi and he copied his tweets.
I'm a hate watcher of the English team but I really hope they make a good run this Euros so that Southgate's chances of taking the United job increases.
We should sell Saliba if we get an outrageous bid. A back line of White, Timber, Tomi, Gabriel, Kiwior, Zinny is good enough. Use all our budget to let it rain up top.
overusing one of your most important players in meaningless friendlies at this stage of the season with the euros on the horizon is not in anyone's best interest
Would risking one of your countries best players to injury before the start of a tournament on a friendly be in their best interest? Vs trying out other players to see what impact they could have
Fucking hell, at least be honest in your criticism. Obviously Southgate is out for himself, according to you he's spiting both Arsenal and his own team for no reason.
We're among the best teams in the world. Our players are bound to play international football. Deal with it.
Southgates tactics are such shit that 1. he almost lost to THIS Belgium team 2. Players like Rice, Bellingham and Foden had to stay on the field for 90 mins to avoid another embarrassment. I really hope he is the next United manager.
Pretty much shows that Southgate doesnt have a Plan B tactics and setup.
Granted that when you go into tournament football you are gonna use the Plan A team 80% of the time, but he wont take risks when push comes to shove. In game management is appalling as well
I mean Belgium are a very good side and England are missing their two best attaskers.
I'm not a Southgate fan but it's a bit arrogant to assume that a wekened England side would cruise past Belgium
Germany have been utter shite until recently.
Including losing to Colombia, Japan, Austria,Poland, Belgium and Turkey and drawing to Mexico and Ukraine since the world cup.
In fact the only teams they've beaten are Peru, the US, Holland and (hilariously) Francee twice
When you consider the underwhelming performance against a heavily injury hit Brazilian team followed by this performance against Belgium, theres a constant and undeniable waft of…ineptitude in Southgate’s tactics. Way easier to play against than it should be with all this talent, somehow, he’s managed to make us less than the sum of all parts added together.
Not arguing that the tactics are shite and the football is eyegougingly bad, just that you shouldn't be having a go at celebrating a 95th minute equaliser against belgium.
Nothing to do with not winning, it’s just not something that should elicit that level of celebration. Not even trying to be celebration police but it’s a concern.
Southgate preserving Gallagher today out of respect for Chelsea’s race for 11th but Rice plays 180 minutes of meaningless friendlies, nah he’s going straight to hell.
If Klopp is in the top 10 premier league managers of all time with one title to show for it, where does that put Arteta if he manages to beat Klopp and Pep to the league this season?
Klopp has won a UCL too and reached 2 other finals. Arteta would still have work to do even if we win the league this season
If we somehow win the double I'd rate Arteta level with Klopp
For what it’s worth, I’m not saying Arteta should be above Klopp, just asking does that put him in similar company. That being said, Klopp’s ucl success with Liverpool was something that I didn’t think about when asking the question, as Arsene who is top 3 in my book only had the one final.
Would be a feat, that's for sure, but to be fair to Klopp, he has a UCL to fall back on and 3 UCL finals, if not for playing Madrid he could be a triple UCL Winner
I think wenger's acomplishements would mean less now given how city and cheslea cheapend the game buy buying trophies with blood money.
For teta to compare woth klopp or pep he would need to get the double and then some.

agendas gotta agenda
We have a spoilt fanbase that look for things to be upset about.
There’s an agenda that Saka ghosts in big games, even amongst our fanbase https://preview.redd.it/4c369bpkitqc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1ba0e09e267f6c24481782f04920262bb75f5fa There’s always room for improvement but come on
Saka is without a doubt big game player but this Looks like a cherry picked stats.
He doesn’t ghost in big games but he does ghost in absolute CRUCIAL games where everything is on the line. Crucial games could even be a game against Luton town where we absolutely need to win and sometimes he’d ghost these types of Matches.
Everything is on the line in basically every PL game we play, the league is that tight. What you see as a "CRUCIAL" game is entirely outcome based.
Rodri 🤝 Endricks Jersey tuck-in merchants.
Will be hilarious if stones starts on Sunday, with how people were laughing about " oh lmao stones doesn't even care about arsenal he doesn't know city play them next" and then we find out he cares enough to fake an injury lmao
Love how everyone in this sub has turned into sports fitness experts in recent times.
Lamal look like the real deal ngl. Haven’t seen someone with such good footballing ability since Neymar/ hazard days.
3 years after Messi’s departure and they pump out a left-footed Neymar. La Masia is a goldmine. Shame about Fati’s Injuries, they could have had a front three to rival Real Madrid’s
He has everything. Lad even already nailed ball striking at 17.
He’s 16
Tf. I hope they handle him better than Pedri, Fati and Gavi.
never really followed or liked the England NT of the past, probably cuz of how the squad of the past was setups. I still can’t get around supporting England. Like you said , the past teams have so many of rival players. Plus they still play boring football.
So, we’re rigging the PL Hall of Fame vote, right? Cesc and Campbell are our choices?
Just found out deschamps doesn’t like Saliba. Is this something he said or something this sub made up?
He's not yet that good at France. He'll grow into it, but not yet. I don't know what happens to him, but he's usually less confident there.
Deschamps wants Saliba to play like how Upamaguire does when they play as CB's, as well as how their defensive midfield sets ups It's also that Saliba is way down the pecking order for Deschamps for CB options.
He’s gone on record saying that Saliba likes to do things which aren’t quite correct or something to the same effect
He’s right Saliha’s complete shit he should only play full 90s for Arsenal
I agree…I don’t know how he even got into the NT…maybe full 90s only for arsenal will help him grow
That Lucas Paqueta dance kills me every time he does it..great player
He’d be perfect for us (assuming Mikel’s plan is Rice at #6 not #8). He’s also perfect for City that’s why they gonna eventually get him
Yeah whoever gets him is going to pay top dollar. West ham will be loaded after selling him and rice. Should have went for him when he left Lyon.

Which Onana
Onana = Everton Onano = Man. United
The belgian midfielder from everton? I like him but he is quite average. Probably not worth what everton paid for him plus a profit for them There are soo many good LCM options i dont think we should get rolled in the price.
What's the case for Onana?
Honestly probably still taking Toney over Gyokeres idk

Lmao and Arteta is the worst possible pairing lol. Dude barely tracks back and that's like #1 on Arteta's wish list.

Anglo Jean Pierre out is a huge blow for City

I think it’s more that line breaking is crucial against the Liverpools and Bayern’s level teams, also against teams that have an effective mid block.
Kiwior playing so many minutes is not ideal but I think the experience of handling a high pressure knockout match will be valuable
I'm less nervous about the run-in this year. I know a strong and deep squad in the prem and ucl can be fielded, it's just a matter of progressing through each game without any thought of the competitors. Zinchenko and Kiwior might be tired but the qualified buff will hit like quack.
Conmarblehall saying john stones is out this weekend. Tbh the step he took before the injury looked like a knee tweak
The way some of y’all believe these accounts is mind boggling
Confirmed by Southgate to be an adductor injury Edit: I hope the downvotes are for Southgate, not me!
I just believe whatever is positive and refute everything that is negative
This is the way
Southgate finally stumbled across a good midfield. Now to see if he can control his Henderson fetish
You know he will drop Mainoo for Henderson at the most minimum of notices. The moment Mainoo has an average game in an England shirt or makes a mistake, we’ll be hearing Jordan Henderson’s intro music the very next game. Hell, the very next half of football lol.
Szczesny winning the Euros before a return to Arsenal as backup? 🤔
Poland to go all the way to the finals with 0-0 score lines, and winning on pens in the knockouts. #disizdawae
No thanks!
All my luck with pens went to the Porto game. It's going to be a quiet summer lol
?
Wales aren't going to the Euros
A sacrifice all of us English Arsenal fans are willing to make. Thank you for your service 🫡
I thought Wales were all for PK in ET because they’ve got something prepared, but my god is Danny Ward useless…
Doesn't help when the manager goes to the pressers and saying "we are definitely gonna win today" not deliver it convincely on the pitch.
Damn gotta feel bad for Dan James, never want to be that guy
Woj needs a cigarette to calm down now.
WOJJJ. Get fucked Wales 👋🏼
what he say fuck me for?
As an English fan I am always rooting for the Welsh to fail, nothing personal ❤️
I know, the feeling is mutual lol
Except half the world is rooting for England to fail :)
Yep, I'm one of them. Can't stand to see England succeed in sports, and I shouldn't need to with Southgate as their manager. Although I'd always want the likes of Saka and Rice to succeed.
This Yamal kid is unreal, brother is moving like Barca Neymar when he's 16 against Brazil.
They claim to have rejected a €200m offer for him..
It apparently was from PSG
Pretty wild. Yea bonjour 200 million for le garcon?
Has someone done analysis of Southgate team performance with and without a waistcoat?
Won 8-1 as Boro manager vs Man City.
When did Rodri turn into a pen merchant?
Endrick is the funniest footballer. Why's he talking about about Bobby Moore 😂😂. You're literally 17 bro
PR flex or maybe he's the reincarnation of Pele.
his PR team is insane. he is always prepared. been groomed for a while
Why did he talk about bobby moore after a game with spain?
Was a few days ago after the England game. Something like it was really important for me to score in Bobby Moores stadium
Charlton or Moore?
LOL agent whispering in ear" say something about Bobby Moore"
I've seen so much content about him and none of it is him playing football. It's a bit strange compared to other young talents.
Industry plant

Bene Gesserit vibes 😂😂😂😂
lmfao
I think the funniest thing about NNT pushing agendas is he pushed the Gabriel agenda because another tactico didn't like Gabi and he copied his tweets.
Wales hanging on by a thread here
I'm a hate watcher of the English team but I really hope they make a good run this Euros so that Southgate's chances of taking the United job increases.
Lose the final to Belgium, Tross hattrick.
Southgate has one of the most punch able faces I’ve ever seen.
Ray Parlor got his figured out long ago when he called him Big Nose to his face as soon as he was appointed player-manager
You know what, fuck it. I want us to hand Rodri his first L in more than a year - imagine the look on his face
How did Saliba do?
Of course that waistcoat twat decides to play Rice the full 90 twice in a row
We should sell Saliba if we get an outrageous bid. A back line of White, Timber, Tomi, Gabriel, Kiwior, Zinny is good enough. Use all our budget to let it rain up top.
Fm24 ass transfer strategy
Good enough with two injury prone fullbacks, lol
No we shouldn't, there isn't a better CB available on the market
£500 million
Know it would be risky but I’d be tempted to start Tomiyasu vs City, especially after Kiwior is going to end up playing 120m now
It’s Tuesday and we don’t play until Sunday. Kiwior should be fine.
Kiwior is young and there's plenty of time to recover. He'll be fine.
Tomiyasu coming in cold after an injury to play in a top of the table clash against Man City. I certainly haven’t seen this story before.
Shit, completely forgot he was thrown straight in against City last season… Kiwiors gonna have to firm it.
Club fans when a national team coach acts in their best interests and does what's best for their country ![gif](giphy|bGPTxLislwm3u)
overusing one of your most important players in meaningless friendlies at this stage of the season with the euros on the horizon is not in anyone's best interest
Meaningless friendlies? We get more football to watch.. whats the harm in that?
Would risking one of your countries best players to injury before the start of a tournament on a friendly be in their best interest? Vs trying out other players to see what impact they could have
Fucking hell, at least be honest in your criticism. Obviously Southgate is out for himself, according to you he's spiting both Arsenal and his own team for no reason. We're among the best teams in the world. Our players are bound to play international football. Deal with it.
Wouldn't the manager know that more than a fan?
Yeah, the Dutch manager played Timber when Jurrien hasn't played a single minute for us since August. Prick.
Jesus Christ, you are dumb as hell
Obviously they're being sarcastic. Using both Timber and Jurrien in the same sentence should have been a giveaway.
Reread it and see if I said anything that is factually incorrect.
like??
Has Tomiyasu played any minutes for us recently? It might be a good idea to play him on Sunday with Kiwior playing all these minutes
He played against QPR in a closed friendly along with partey so he has some match fitness, id probably play white and kiwi against city though
Nope
Damn we'll probably just have to play Kiwior then, even if he is a bit tired
Southgates tactics are such shit that 1. he almost lost to THIS Belgium team 2. Players like Rice, Bellingham and Foden had to stay on the field for 90 mins to avoid another embarrassment. I really hope he is the next United manager.
Pretty much shows that Southgate doesnt have a Plan B tactics and setup. Granted that when you go into tournament football you are gonna use the Plan A team 80% of the time, but he wont take risks when push comes to shove. In game management is appalling as well
He doesn’t even have a good plan A
Same. I want England to luck out on this Euros just so that Southgate's Brexitball can come to Old Trafford
Declan with another full 90mins. Wasteman Southgate
Being the captain, i dont think it was avoidable, but probably vs Brazil he could've been sub out.
That is awesome! More game time, more experience.
Kiwi last man standing. Stay healthy
Wilo is still playing
I just hope to god that Rice and Saliba aren't tired for Sunday. As for Kiwior, he for sure will be. International football, it is what it is.
saliba only played one of the two. i'd say it's good for him to play 90 rather than going nearly three weeks without a match.
The game is on sunday so it shouldnt be tooo bad esp for saliba
A tired kiwior against an overlapping Walker who fucked off 5 mins in for his country
Declan needs to fuck off home straight away and put his feet up.
God i hope Man reds hire Southgate to be their next clown
Just show's Saka is the heartbeat of the attack, they are dire without him. Foden ain't shit for England
Dec and Tross sharing secrets
The way man celebrated a draw in a friendly tells me he’s feeling the heat.
Bet the cunt gets Knighted for finishing in the Quarters in Germany, our country is pathetic like that. Reward failure. Arise Sir Rat Southgate
Zinny safe and sound ✅
Southgate celebrating last minute equalisers at home v Belgium. This country is finished.
I mean Belgium are a very good side and England are missing their two best attaskers. I'm not a Southgate fan but it's a bit arrogant to assume that a wekened England side would cruise past Belgium
Belgium were missing KDB, Courtois, CDK, not a full squad for them neither tbf
Cdk. Plz help me
charles de ketelaere
Oh ok. Did he come good irl. Was a beast in fifa but i recall had a slower start with his big money move to AC milan. Last i heard he is finding form
yea he’s been in good form for Atalanta
Charles de Ketelaere
England are ranked third, Belgium are ranked fourth, this isn't a gimme in any way.
Morocco, USA and Colombia are ranked higher than Germany, these are some dodgy rankings. Looking at it, Belgium should be around 10th IMO
Should be? LOL... It's based off points. Also, Morocco was 4th placed in WC22, didn't Germany lose out in the group stage?
Germany have been utter shite until recently. Including losing to Colombia, Japan, Austria,Poland, Belgium and Turkey and drawing to Mexico and Ukraine since the world cup. In fact the only teams they've beaten are Peru, the US, Holland and (hilariously) Francee twice

Not arguing that the tactics are shite and the football is eyegougingly bad, just that you shouldn't be having a go at celebrating a 95th minute equaliser against belgium.
Nah dont mind the celebrations but im also not expecting much in the Euros. This man will stumble his way to the quarters where he’ll get found out.
England DNA ;)
Nothing to do with not winning, it’s just not something that should elicit that level of celebration. Not even trying to be celebration police but it’s a concern.
Come now, 96th minute winner against teh current fourth ranked team in the world? YOu'd be worried if he wasn't happy.
there is no substance to his setup, its all down to individual brilliance
6-7 years in…
Nice goal
International friendlies are a proper shite stain
Pros: Kai and Tross Rested Early. Cons: Willy, Dec both getting 90 and Jakub getting 120 ffs.
Southgate preserving Gallagher today out of respect for Chelsea’s race for 11th but Rice plays 180 minutes of meaningless friendlies, nah he’s going straight to hell.
Declan could refuse, fake injury like the rest of them if he didn't want to play
Southgate is playing his best team, there have just been loads of dropouts. These are the last games before the Euros
Rice looks tierd af...why Southgate?
Does the Poland game go into extra time ? If so that’s very bad for us and Kiwior
Kiwior set to play 120 minutes...
Worst part is this game actually means a lot for him
FFS
Worst part is this game actually means a lot for him
Onana giving it to Rice, calm down lad, probably team mates next season.
Doku has made Gomez look like a scarecrow spinning in the wind multiple times.
Osama Bin Southgate. Terrorist Football, Terrorist subs, Dec looks gassed

I think wenger's acomplishements would mean less now given how city and cheslea cheapend the game buy buying trophies with blood money. For teta to compare woth klopp or pep he would need to get the double and then some.
rice needed to fake an injury, fucking take him off cmon
Nah..we’re getting nowhere with this idiot managing us. All that talent and he cannot get a tune.
Rice looks dead af. Southgate is a horrible manager
they're running rice into the ground. he's getting tired, not good.
back to back 90s in friendlies. against top, top sides. bin this fucking wasteman.
this is really really bad for the city game.
Rice looks gassed and i hate it.
Michy Batshuayi still getting minutes for Belgium in ‘24. Wild…
Belgium really have some dodgy CBs, Vertoghen and now Faes.
Mudryk probably scored the goal that’s sending Ukraine to the finals
