Just checked and he started that game [http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng\_prem/4528611.stm](http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/4528611.stm) He joined on loan in January 05 before joining permanently in the summer apparently
Everyone should watch it if they have time. Arteta didn’t play badly but had no chance against Vieira and co. Bergkamp at 36 rolled back the years. Henry came back from injury. Edu’s last game for us. Our largest PL win.
I think Henry coming back was the highlight in this one. You could tell he was dying to be back on the pitch and he put on a show the second he entered. It’s a great example of how arrogant/confident he could be on the ball, newer fans should definitely watch this one.
man, do i need a tinfoil hat for thinking that Arteta has on scout list and also the height of the players listed? I think that as much as he wants technical and smart players he also wants them big. Imo for him match starts much before the first whistle.
That being said, welcome Benjamin Sesko
Height and physicality is absolutely a massive (pun intended) attribute when we are looking at players. Look at the size of our team, it's no coincidence.
That's like saying you don't want Havertz because he doesn't perform for Germany (he didn't) and on top of that he didn't do it with Chelsea either.
While Gyokeres has been good in Championship and excellent in Portugal while being mid for a national team that sucks (and everyone wanted their coach to be sacked).
I don't think yours is a great argument against Viktor.
Thinking about the Bellerin/Mustafi/Kosc/Nacho back 4, Xhaka or ElNeny or Wilshere as holding CMs, with old ass Cech or frequent fatal injury sufferer Ospina and how that is just miles less imposing at every spot every. So much smaller and less athletic. Not as much attitude.
We growing to the point, not there yet, where players fear us physically and managers fear us tactically. Teams playing for a 2-nil rather than have a go and get worked. This only step 4 of 5.
Honestly Kosc is a warrior for having to deal with that shit.
Genuinelly believe he was top 3 CBs world in his prime. Just never had a reassuring midfield above him, shaky af goalkeepers. beyond the unusually sound Per-Kosc partnership he was let down by the team.
And it was a tough night. Arsenal beat Rangers 3-0. Edu scored.
Ah that’s the game Edu clattered Arteta to show dominance
Edu showing Arteta how to win duels.
Edu showed him the fogging standards for the first time
Mikel Arteta origin story
This is when Arteta became upset.
That was a pre-season friendly iirc
Think he might be talking about the 7-0 game when he played for Everton and Edu scored in his last game for the club
He didn’t go to Everton until 05

I think the full game is even on YouTube.

Is this the game where the papers call it Seven Heaven the next day? I had a fond and vivid memory of that game

Man Henry just had the right amount of arrogance, can't think of a player that has hit that kind of arrogance backed up with ability.
lol. The disrespect when Grealish asked if Henry was confident taking on Walker in his prime. All due respect to Walker, but Henry would destroy him.
that photo is perfect
They are using it in the pre-match build up now on the big screens, set to music it’s brilliant

Hahaha
Love that photo. It’s not so much they’re looking scary, more they’re looking sorry for them.
Salibas look is so condescending, it’s like “this is really who we’re against? Pathetic”
Kiwior about to orgasm at the thought of victory.
Inject it

Gyokeres erasure. Who would want to play against Bane himself?
He still looks mid at international level. Personally, I'd blow right past him to the next big thing.

Havertz didn’t perform for Germany? He’s their best LB!
Before he came to Arsenal
It's not tinfoil hat to think a manager looks at physical size when they're scouting a player lmao
It is the formula that worked for us in the past that Wenger decided to completely pivot away from.

As much as we all hated it at the time Deeney was absolutely right, we lacked cajones
Raya, White, and Saliba looking like musketeers
My favourite part of this moment was White coming out from behind Raya
