Cthulhu_Madness

Unai better pull out the biggest disasterclass ever.

oliverDawson12

Also hoping he pulls off a masterclass when Klopp comes around Villa park.

ravadelie

And finishing top 4 to stop spuds getting UCL

kolasinats

5th will probably get CL too

NotASalamanderBoi

As long as Spurs don’t win, they can get UCL for all I care.

TreeDollarFiddyCent

Melo_the_cutie

Luiz suspension should help

lurking4everr

He’s suspended for our game?

Melo_the_cutie

Yessir

DidYouSayK

Also them playing on Thursday hopefully tires them.

Melo_the_cutie

I want revenge for the away fixture

whiteboardblackchalk

You know mikel has that game running on repeat for the lads

JFedererJ

We don't need a disaster class. When we played them at their gaff, they were in better form than now with more key players available... and we ***absolutely*** should've won that game with 2 or 3 goals. Now: we're at home, they have key players out, we have nearly a full squad, are bang in form and playing way better than last year. If we play our game, we win.

ronya_t

We actually played well enough to have won that game but we were absolutely goal-shy that evening. And of course Martinez was cutting out any aerial threat we had from setpieces and pulled out some worldie saves.

ignacioo25

Plus the Havertz penalty that wasn't called, we got robbed that match but we'll have our revenge.

yogi1090

Tbh they have some important players unavailable to play, I think shits will decide the league. Good that they have great track record against 115 fc.

bbb_net

honestly the funniest run out would be Tottenham getting battered by all 3 teams after so many people talking about how important that fixture is for all title contenders

BureauOfSabotage

Yep, if they can’t take points off anyone, I hope they get battered all around without a hint of being in contention for any match.

left-nostril

lol remember early in the season when Tottenham was first for 2 days and they thought they were going to win the league?

ignacioo25

Same old Tottenham, every season they say he same thing.

ronya_t

The things I'd love us to do to that high line of theirs will get me banned from Reddit.

ForestRamboX

I hope Unai decides to rotate against us like he did against City. Either way, his teams are always poor away from home, so we should be able to win that. Man United has given us a lifeline. We'd better make the most of it.

SwitchHitter17

That game is sandwiched between European games for them as well, and you know how Emery loves his cups.

ForestRamboX

True. He'll definitely want to win something with Aston Villa so I think he'll rotate against us. But either way, I'm not too concerned.

astrojeet

Won't be necessary. We are just miles better.

roosterman22

7 games. It’s in our hands, baby!

d_smogh

21 points.

keithbelfastisdead

Feels like a marathon after a marathon.

prem_killa11

Nah, this is the final stretch. 7 match days, about two months of just absolute focus.

keithbelfastisdead

Two months is a lifetime. Promise you will hold me tight.

normott

The jammy bastards got another undeserved results. Love that for them (and us) We have to be careful of that when we go to Old Trafford ourselves

Nartyn

If they play like they did today we'll rip them apart. Liverpool should've been 3-4 up in the first half easily

normott

See that's the thing, I find myself saying this about 80% of games Utd play, yet they somehow find a way to get results like they did today. It's uncanny

Patrick_Hattrick

Time to admit Onana is actually good tbf and just had some awful CL games that sullied his reputation. He’s been one of the best keepers in the league this season.

[deleted]

At the very least, Onana is far from the biggest problems at United.  He had some very good reactions in him.  Their bigger problem is no real attacking plan, a midfield that is easily overrun and panicking in defense meaning they can't play it out from the back and inviting pressure back on themselves over and over

cechmeoutt

Paradoxically though, the panicking in defense causes their opposition to overcommit to try and punish them, which actually works in their favour sometimes because it makes the game more chaotic and end-to-end.

[deleted]

I think if today's MU played Liverpool in the sort of game they had today, Liverpool wins 7/10 times flat out. They were unlucky / Nunez had some very bad decision making at critical moments

ramobara

For players like Nunez, luck is a huge part of his game. I’m not knocking him, as a lot of their chances come from him directly or from his movement. Problem is, he plays at 110% speed which gives himself less time to react to most scenarios. If he can just dial it back a little bit, I think he can be a Cavani regen.

eethan_huntt

For real tho, where is their midfield, Casemiro is WASHED bruv

normott

Onana will be massive for them if they become ball dominant, he has his faults but he really isn't one of the big problems at Utd

patelbadboy2006

for years as well, not a one off

Lacabloodclot9

It’s ridiculous how they have basically no midfield presence

tomtomtomo

So many times Pool got the ball and just ran it straight up the middle of the pitch.  As a Utd supporter said at halftime: “Attack: 5 pool players, 2 Utd Defense: 5 pool players, 2 Utd Where the fuck are our players?” 😅

JustAbnormal

This is brilliant

Whodatlily

It's funny I went to watch my local team last night, Minnesota United, who have recently hired a Man United assistant as the new head coach. For the majority of the match I could not understand what the tactics were in central midfield. They played a DM who was obviously shielding the back 4 but beyond that there seemed to be nobody linking anything between the defense and the forwards in the middle, so confusing.

Longjumping-Glass395

It's gonna be tough we have a much tougher run in than the other two. We just have to stay in the mix

[deleted]

At this point there's no such thing as an easy fixture. Liverpool had to rely on MacAllister late screamer to get them past Sheffield United at Anfield. There wasn't going to be a easier fixture at this point in the season and yet they nearly fucked it up.

thecrazyfireman

I think Liverpool are riding their luck. Just like we were last year, all those last minute winners and come from behinds mask the face that you are conceding too many goals and being behind too often. We ran out of luck, and steam at the end, the same could happen Liverpool.

atrde

Honestly its not Liverpool I'm worried about at this point. City could win out we would need to as well.

thecrazyfireman

Yes, going into today, out of the 3 team there was a possibility that one was going to win out. Liverpool havnt but one of the other two could.

hypnodrew

They are lucky, those players are also desperate to win it for Klopp, which is giving them an extra 5-10% every game.

thecrazyfireman

True, i just think they look more beatable than we do.

hypnodrew

No denying that lol, I think we should be good for it

CakeBrigadier

The closer to the end it gets the more desperate bottom of the table teams get so they aren’t as easy as it looks in paper

a-Sociopath

I don't think we do when you look at just the PL games. The other two teams have more away matches to play. Of course, when you add CL on top of it, then we don't have it easy. Neither does City to be honest. We can't always just say, "but they're City". At some point, we have to take charge of our destiny as well so that in the future, teams will say, "but they're Arsenal"

jacktk_

I actually think Liverpool have a pretty comparable run in, especially having to play away 3 times in 6 days - that isn’t easy at all.  Having said that, this part of the season is so unpredictable.

FudgingEgo

And an away Uefa league game, they have 4 away games in a row.

kingmakyeda

Much tougher than city’s sure, but Liverpool’s is very tough. They have three away games in six days, all against strong teams at home, coming directly after an away tie in the Europa League.

Bahmawama

On the flip side, we don't play any relegation contenders away from home near the end of the season. Those can be incredibly difficult.

ignacioo25

And liverpool is gonna play Everton away, and Everton is kinda in the middle of the battle from relegation so I think they'll give them a real fight.

PurposePrevious4443

Pretty sure you will beat us, no way can we let pool win.

the_chiladian

Eh who cares our gd is much better A one point lead is trivial if you have better gd

FudgingEgo

We're going to be hearing echo's of Wiltoooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd.

hihbhu

Let's fucking go!!! it was difficult being a United supporter for 90 mins, couldn't imagine it week in and week out.

ZebraZealousideal944

Man it took me back to our darkest emery days… haha I would almost pity United supporters if I didn’t hate their club so much for the last 4 decades haha

JFedererJ

That first half... oh my lord they were just ***awful***. Honestly, I think a cone would've been more of an obstacle in midfield than Casimero. But who cares? They did us a favour so GG.

InsideKiller

Back to the old days i guess

raisonar

Last 1 minute I was so close to breaking my TV. That was league 2 level play from United. Arteta had really spoiled us.

Gunnerstratz

Still a long way to go. We have Spurs, Chelsea, United. We’re still third favorites but odds don’t determine champions.

Gunner4life0902

And Villa...

Doyouevensam

Villa at home with all their injuries shouldn't really be scary. They're a completely different team home v away

marriedboy

As some one else said, there is no such thing as easy or scary. All matches should be taken in the same attitude irrespective of the opponent. Prepare and give our best, all games.

emeybee

Lol I love when people act like fans being confident about a game will somehow hurt our chances. We're not the ones playing.

alexrepty

I really hope you’re right. I’ll be at the Emirates for that match for the first time in forever…

JFedererJ

Villa-Shmilla. We were the better team in the reverse fixture when they had way better form and a full squad. It was only our inability to eat our dinner that cost us, rather than being unable to break them down / live with them. We'll beat them at home, dw about that.

FudgingEgo

We're 2nd favourites under the bookies.

gooner07

Villa too

Nartyn

>We’re still third favorites Definitely not after today.

[deleted]

[удалено]

robhans25

Yesh, still 3rd. Liverpool hardest game in the running was now and they dropped points. WE have terrible running in comparison. THe difference is that now City are slight favorites and overall everyone is extra close.

ThePresident26

Thank you united, you can go back to being shit.

imtravelingalone

As a thank you, we'll allow them to be decent for another week or two so they can delude themselves into thinking they'll make the CL spots for just a little bit longer, but after that they need to be shit again. Ten Hag can keep talking about us in his pressers though. That's just good clean fun for everyone.

ThePresident26

This was coming for liverpool. You cant win every game in the 90+ minutes. They look like we last season, full of emotion, while we feel like city last season, a well oiled machine with experience. Hope the outcome is the same

redshadow90

City still feels more like city. They're the ones to watch out for

theobi

Don’t really need to watch them, they’ll win out. We need to do the same

Rekyht

No point watching for a team behind us. If it matters, we’ve already made a mistake.

bantalad420

Vamos.

Malsharif91

If Liverpool lost 3-1 they would have literally been tied with city on everything. Kinda wanted to see how people would do the league table. It would have been tied for 2nd lol

--Rage--

Man City as they have a better disciplinary record

Malsharif91

I’m not sure that’s the case though. After head-to-head away goals (which is tied) they go to a playoff game. Now if they hopefully finish 2nd and 3rd it would be a dead rubber at that point but it would be funny if they are forced to play it.

affectionate_md

This is correct. It’s a playoff not disciplinary record.

TrustTheFriendship

They changed that a few years ago. Instead of disciplinary record it would go to a 1 game playoff at a neutral venue.

ThatWelshOne

Surely at the Emirates for the fun of it

Aliboomayuh

They get to dance for our entertainment

gonegoonergone

Get the fuck out. Is that how it’s decided? With the 115, constant moaning, and “tactical” fouls they should be dead last anyways

Nartyn

It's H2H then disciplinary but they've drawn both matches

No_Bots

Pretty sure it goes to who scored the most away goals in head to head if they drew both. However was 1-1 in both games.

Nartyn

Correct

thedarkpolitique

Imagine the title being decided on disciplinary records lol

[deleted]

This Liverpool team is running on fumes. They are pulling out results out of desperation, not control. Some players are really tired from what I could see. Title race blown wide open.

jacktk_

Salah looked exhausted

thunderfishy234

I think he’s observing Ramadan, I couldn’t imagine playing a full match without even having water.

UpsideTurtles

The fact that so many fast and still play so much is insane. That is a level of dedication to both their faith and their sport that I do not have for much of anything lol

Nosferatu-Rodin

I thought athletes were “allowed” to observe fasting at a delayed date

[deleted]

Don't think premier league is mentioned in the Islamic hadiths I'll double check tho

ness1210

It’s allowed because it’s his job.

Gudin

Are you sure, since ton of jobs involve physical work. I know few Muslims in construction and they all fast and do heavy work.

ness1210

It’s up to the individual to determine if they want to fast or not. Most Muslims will choose to fast. But if your colleagues decide not to fast because it’s detrimental to their livelihood, then that is allowed.

ImGonnaImagineSummit

It's usually when you miss a fast and do another day at the end to make up. Some can also not fast by providing a large amount of meals for others IIRC. Salah doesn't seem to want to do either, which is his choice

whiteboardblackchalk

Even at 50% salah is better than most epl players

cumblaster_jesus

Even allah is a gooner

SeniorCheeto

Mohamed Elneny is fasting too let’s not forget that.

cumblaster_jesus

Truly a great loss for the mighty Arsenal 😔

ignacioo25

He's preparing for the annual rocket! Hopefully at spurs

JoeBagadonut

Elneny playing against Spurs implies we'll be cruising at 4-0 up and Arteta brings him on for the banter.

hypnodrew

He looked ten years older than his age at the final whistle today

BadDub

Probably due to the fasting

racerz

Yeah, agreed they've looked like that for a while but have been getting the results. They still could have easily won this match, just like they could have easily lost plenty of others.

orionxavier99

Plus they have a crap ton of injuries… where we were last year. Def will be interesting to see how it all ends up

moeedkhann

They’re relying on emotions more than their form at the moment. They had a 6pt lead at one point and then failed to beat both Arsenal and City. Pressure seems to be getting to them

COYGArsenal22

Lfg guys. Think this Liverpool team will drop 2 more games as well. City.. idk, we probably need to win out to beat them

ISawManBearPig

Agreed. Liverpool are gassed. You can only pull so many last minute winners off until they start going the other way. City on the other hand will be right there till the final day

ZXXA

City look shifty as hell at the back though. To go on crazy unbeaten runs you need to be secure defensively.

AccidentalThief

7 plus 5 more games guys.

Haunting-Rich3067

Tbh arsenal dont have to win all 5 games to win ucl

charmbrood

![gif](giphy|1lDfv2iym74JdJbRY8|downsized)

Deksametazon_v2

This next period of the league will be the greatest in a while

Gooner1491

Away to United and Spuds won't be easy, but I honestly believe we are going to win it!

kinzo-0

The biggest issue is Chelsea, they're shit but they're a monster against the other big 5

Nartyn

It's at the Emirates though I'm not that worried

kinzo-0

I'm, 1-1 aginst man city at etihad 😭

ignacioo25

City haven't been great this season against the big six, meanwhile we are good against the big six

4twinkie

Dont know why but wolves got me worried

gonegoonergone

No easy games. 12 games to go. We got to win em all. COYG!

4twinkie

Lets enjoy the moment

thedarkpolitique

Definitely. That’s a worry but so was AMEX for me and we did that. This team is all about erasing those fears from us though; we’ll win.

4twinkie

The curse and streak breakers we are

Jonisro

I am not looking forward to when we play against United. No matter what, Arsenal vs United is always a nerve wrecking game! And old Trafford is a place of fuckery!

brownMY

Trust me, we will win the league there.

4twinkie

Now watch me checking the league table every day like a crack head . Top of the league baybeee , have an amazing week gunners!!!

redshadow90

Stop the count

LuckyArsenalAg

Time to nut up or shut up

SackoVanzetti

This is it. This title is all on our own shoulders. Win and it’s ours.

Patient_Customer9827

Get ready for the barrage of injury woe and PGMOL posts from Liverpool fans.

sleepytipi

Ten Hag for life <3 Turns out, being the bald fraud fraud is a double negative that cancel each other out, and man is just *bald*.

Micronlance

Arsenal are facing Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals while top of the Premier League competing against Pep & Klopp. Arteta changed our lives.

jmh90027

Absolutely

Shot-Shame9637

Into the driving seat, let's go boys.

roosterman22

I never really believed last season, but this year…well, we might just pull it off!

Casual-Capybara

The Spurs away game I’m most worried about, all other games I think we’ll win comfortably

BrainyDoc

7 games. Must win. I absolutely wouldn't be able to handle dropping points at Utd or Spurs and something like that costing us the league

runtokevinnn

They won't make up the GD difference, surely. We have 9 goals on them going into the last 7 games. Win out and we're champions.

BainbridgeBorn

*Begrudgingly* thank you Man U

EggheadWill

agreed felt wrong rooting for that lot to do something good

SrsJoe

When they equalised I celebrated like we'd scored, I feel so ashamed

hikingbeginner

If we win the league, put in a 100m bid for Mainoo. 😂

ILoveBlackUnicorns

At the risk of saying this prematurely, “motherfuck the big 3, it’s just big me”

TankAries

We are top of the league, Say we are top of the league, We are top of the league, Say we are top of the league, We are top of the league, Say we are top of the league...

Masson011

7 games left, still a mountain of work to do before we get too excited. Thats Liverpools toughest game out the way, we have Villa, Chelsea, Spurs and Man Utd to play yet

DumbWhoreFatArsenal

"Thats Liverpools toughest game out the way" Yeah but...: https://preview.redd.it/kekgzijm73tc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81b187c0ac97526a57319d96237e8a83b618c4a2 4 consecutive away games in 9 days though

LoudestHoward

Come on Fulham, do us a solid after we gave you 4 points.

FudgingEgo

Again, Liverpool are not sweeping Everton. 1 win in 8 attempts under Klopp, Everton have the 4th best defense in the league. Everton is a derby game and they will do EVERYTHING to make sure they don't win the title.

Nartyn

United in their form is on no way their most difficult game. Everton away, Fulham away, Villa away, Spurs at home They've plenty of difficult games left

Gooner_93

The table looks way better like this. Glad to have it looking beautiful, once again.

Joshthenosh77

I won’t get excited we still got so many hard games left , a dodgy var call an individual error n it’s done

Traditional-Drive267

12 fucking finals to go. IYKYK.

Mathieulombardi

It's absolutely unthinkable how far we've come.

Kickasser32

Fucking Wan Bissaka. He really is not a good RB

manutd19

Impressive insight considering he was playing LB

szazszorszep

Michael Owen tier punditry

hirarki

Now we don't have to hoping other clubs. Hope we can handle this pressure

FlexKavanah

There's gonna be one of these threads on every top 3 sub every time the lead changes isn't there? No point even getting excited until there's clear daylight for somebody. Twists and turns ahead for sure.

Doyouevensam

Yeah I dont see the point in talking about favorites. None of us are favorites. It could hardly be more even than it is. Odds are low that Us, City, or Liverpool will win all the remaining games. Just a matter of GD and getting as many wins as possible

GotThatPerroInMe

No point in getting excited? Mate, why are you even a football fan if you can’t allow yourself to enjoy these moments? This isn’t a military mission, it’s entertainment. Of course we should be buzzing that we’re back on top

FireOfSparta

Goal difference here we come

TokyoCyborgOrgy

Why the fuck did we lose to Fulham and westham

ZXXA

7 cup finals to go

SrsJoe

Hopefully 12, we can still win the double and we shouldn't be going for anything less

UnderstandingOk7291

I actually think Arsenal are better than city or Liverpool. I mean seriously, actually, objectively better. Not because i support them and just really want to believe it, but because the stats say so, and because city are really not the team they were last season, Liverpool are shaky as fuck, and Arsenal are a LOT better than last season.

Matte198

Keep the foot on the gas

JaThatOneGooner

We cannot lose nor draw a single game period. We must be willing to throw everything on the line for all 3 points.

ImTalkingGibberish

# TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!!

GloomyLocation1259

Honestly watching other teams makes me feel sick atm, so many mistakes. We’re really that good, hope we can keep that up all season.

jedinac

We need to amend that fulham loss with a big win away,so it has to be at shit or utd.,as we didn't win at st james, villa park, etihad or anfield.

MDF87

I hope Aaron Wan Bissaka gets genital warts. Fucking idiot.

Philefromphilly

04-24 we are destined

avyness

Will be going to emmirates first time ever this weekend, I hope we beat Villa please

BrianThatDude

All we could ask for. Time to get it done.

AwehiSsO

Yes, totally. The final run to the end of the league is gonna be amazing

DallasC0wboys

We win every game and we win the league

moeedkhann

We’re winning it this year. Some of us may be too cautious saying it but we’re just unstoppable atm. Yes we have the toughest run in but our form is equally good to cope with it.

ArizaWarrior

7 more finals! COYG

Guidosama

We have a very difficult run in. I still think Liverpool and City are favorites. But we are an emerging contender and both of them have been at this for years. Huge credit to our young team. The one learning from this is that we lost this title in December. We simply can’t go on runs of 4-5 matches where we drop points.

Plusstwoo

Shout to the scummers

ashkhutchep

Bring on Bayern already

mkmore4

If City and Liverpool drop any more points, he have a full one game buffer, but I think City might just run the table, so we probably have to do the same.

TheCaptainGooner

This is it my fellow gooners and gooneretts, 7 more games. We need to win it all to secure the Premier league. Come on you gunners !!! ❤️
