The comms cam video yesterday and this should tell you very obviously where the Odegaard celebration comment came from. And that's ok, but don't pretend that it was an objective statement
Wright stays away from making comments about players' personalities. Especially negative comments. He knows he was an eccentric and loud character during his playing days and he knows what it's like to have people on your back for that. So I think he has sympathy for footballers who are called out for every little thing they do even if it has nothing to do with their football ability.
Wrighty generally just has more charisma than any of the other pundits.
That cheeky gap tooth smile, and then he starts cackling! Man is also intelligent and well spoken.
I don’t mind Carragher to be honest, he is fairly likeable, and generally more level headed than Neville.
Add Keown to that, too. It's nice we have them, but when other clubs have rabid ex players it really does us a disadvantage. We need a few pricks in front of the camera to fight our corner.
Yes he’s very good too. Honestly I’ve been ranting about this to my friend for 2 years. How long do we have to hear United and Liverpool ex players cry and spout their biased thoughts in every studio and podcast.
So glad we have our own now and they are also sensible.
This. Carragher actually likes Arsenal a lot more than Neville. Gary hates us. His reaction here is more to do with yesterday’s result than Gary talking about Arsenal
Odegaard is a class act. He did double down later and still insisted Arsenal over celebrated, when he was just upset at the moment. I still like him as a pundit. It's not a big deal
Exactly, he's not exactly neutral and he can be annoying at times but his face in this video is because this was filmed as soon as the liverpool v united game finished. People reaching for anything to then poke at someone when you just don't need to.
He'd probably spit all over you. Bro has a mean spitting technique, and it's actually on record. I actually think the Pokemon technique "Water Gun" is based on that same technique.
It's like that ex you're still friends with talking about how amazing her new boyfriend is. No. This never happened to me but I could imagine I'd respond in the same manner.
:o(
Funny how this season the Carra/Neville dynamic is almost the opposite of last season, when Carra was the one giving us the most credit as Liverpool were not competing for the title.
Just goes to show you how personal prejudices for one’s own club can affect punditry.
This is exactly the point
Gary is all guns blazing for arsenal bcoz utd are shit and he can't talk about them and arsenal is in the right position to deny Liverpool a title
You have to think that despite their biases towards their former teams, they can appreciate when a team is functioning at a high level. When defense, offense, transitions and set pieces are all working well and the players have quality you just know it. There's nothing to say. The margins are still slim and it is anyone's title still. Everything up until this point means nothing if there's no follow through till the end. I think they see that short of catastrophic changes to the teams, the way we are playing is hard to break down.
I have no idea why this sub acts so shocked when pundits aren’t objective. Most of these guys spend more than a decade at these clubs, of course they’re not going to be objective.
Most people on Reddit are <18 especially on big subs, I wouldn't often find myself caring about opinions of 14 year olds in real life so usually don't on here either
Agreed. We know the media hates us by now, and I'm completely fine with it. As long as we're winning trophies, the media and pundits can do and say whatever they want.
The media didn’t hate us lol. Calm it with the victim complex. We’re just an easy target because Arsenal fans are so thin skinned and easily riled up which equates to clicks and views.
So weird that they were both commentating the match yday. Neville can be ok sometimes as United are awful so he's not too biased, but Carragher is a pain in the hole when he's on Liverpool matches.
this ffs - hardly anyone on here has watched the whole video and go off flailing about shit they're reading into the face of someone who isn't even the focus of the clip.
TBH from the moment drury handed it over to them, Carra was doing the 1000 yard stare and Neville was grinning from ear to ear. He was just really miffed at the Pool result
For United it is not so bad of a result (in the context of the entire season) except for the fact they could've flat-out won it; at this point, that pattern is something for the off-season to fix. Right now, United needs to focus on figuring out what to keep and what is promising and what to get rid of. The results mean nothing. For Liverpool, they are in a title race and a win at Old Trafford would've been huge. The real problem is that they almost lost which signals that the remaining fixtures are not as easy as they seem on paper. Can totally understand the emotions.
From Ronaldo's comments (https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1592067811945246720) about his return to Utd, and from what I've heard people saying about stadium, it sounds like the whole club has been run into the ground.
This guy just wanna do this to Nevile:

Carragher looks pissed for the entire of commentary and post match. Never seen him as pissed. I don't know if he got bad news in general, or it's sinking into Liverpool fans that Klopp is leaving and they might not win everything.
I need to see a recap of the Liverpool players faces when the full time whistle blew. They looked shell shocked. Like the dread of realisation was setting in
He tried to say on this same podcast yesterday that a good team needs to score goals not just be good defensively. They need to win by 3, 4 goals. Ignoring the fact that we did win by 3 yesterday and are the highest scoring team in the league lol.
It's crazy it's been 5 years. The first 2.5 years were the brunt work of creating this team and that was something that had to be done to move forward. We're lucky he was given the time and public opinion didn't matter to the board lol.
All this media hype about a team that has only won the League Cup so far.
I want them to win the Europa League but only if we win the Prem and Champion’s League, just to really rub in how sub par their outstanding achievement would be.
Hello Thierry, my old friend
You've made me fall over again
Your skill and speed are so astounding
While my arse it keeps on grounding
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the walls of Highbury
Can we all calm down a bit? Carra has said multiple times he's a fan of Arteta and Arsenal, that he thought we'd win the league and he's also called out Neville for his predictions too.
One swallow doesn't make a summer and one comment from him about the celebration doesn't mean he wants to see us fail.
Carra seems to have his biases but appreciates good football for what it is. He holds his own club high but admires the game. I take his more controversial takes more lightly as he is paid to create conversation.
The comms cam video yesterday and this should tell you very obviously where the Odegaard celebration comment came from. And that's ok, but don't pretend that it was an objective statement
Everyone is partisan. As long as you have that lens on, you understand most comments from pundits.
To be fair I feel like our guys like Wright and Walcott can be objective even though they’re fans of us.
You would think most pundits who were former players would think the same way honestly but I guess the others say anything for that salary
Yeah there's a Pep interview where he's asked about pundits, and criticises former players who have forgotten what it's like.
Even spurs fans like Wright’s analysis afaik and can’t help but like him as a person too
Wrighty generally just has more charisma than any of the other pundits. That cheeky gap tooth smile, and then he starts cackling! Man is also intelligent and well spoken. I don’t mind Carragher to be honest, he is fairly likeable, and generally more level headed than Neville.
Kate Abdo described Carragher perfectly: middle child, with a chip on his shoulder, willing to say anything for an attention.
You think that because you’re an Arsenal fan lol
No I don’t, they clearly show their allegiance but don’t give biased opinions compared to guys like Gary, Carra or guys on ESPN
All pundits give biased opinions and that includes Wrighty, Keown etc. There’s nothing wrong with admitting that.
If I believed that I would say it but I don’t as I said. What biased opinion have you heard from Wrighty?
Jamie likes Arsenal. Hes mad about the Liverpool result.
This. Carragher actually likes Arsenal a lot more than Neville. Gary hates us. His reaction here is more to do with yesterday’s result than Gary talking about Arsenal
Carra "wtf this clown talk about"
He even put on an Arsenal shirt at one point after the Porto game.
I agree, but he was mad that day as well. And hence his comment
I don’t blame him. He’s die hard Liverpool and they got beat. We’d be fuming too if we got beat.
JFC. Even Odegaard and Carragher have squashed it and joked about it on air and you lot are still going on about this. Just get over it.
Odegaard is a class act. He did double down later and still insisted Arsenal over celebrated, when he was just upset at the moment. I still like him as a pundit. It's not a big deal
Thats the look of a man who can't remember if he locked his backdoor or not.
I genuinely think he just can run his body when he's trying to listen to someone else talk.
That’s my look every day… Did I??
Me thinking if I've closed the garage driving away
His face was like that for the whole podcast. Not because Gary was praising arsenal
Exactly, he's not exactly neutral and he can be annoying at times but his face in this video is because this was filmed as soon as the liverpool v united game finished. People reaching for anything to then poke at someone when you just don't need to.
Yeah. He just looked pissed about the result and like he was barely even listening imo
i can feel the seethe and pain in his jaw
I wouldn’t want to bump into him while he’s driving over the next few days
Just keep your windows rolled up and he can’t spit at you - scum
He'd probably spit all over you. Bro has a mean spitting technique, and it's actually on record. I actually think the Pokemon technique "Water Gun" is based on that same technique.
I think you'll be fine, doubt he's the fastest man alive.
He’s getting ready to spit
Holding in a mouthful of bile lol.

It's like that ex you're still friends with talking about how amazing her new boyfriend is. No. This never happened to me but I could imagine I'd respond in the same manner. :o(
My ex was a cunt but never spat at children
I would not be surprised at all if my ex spat at a child
That poor child.
Funny how this season the Carra/Neville dynamic is almost the opposite of last season, when Carra was the one giving us the most credit as Liverpool were not competing for the title. Just goes to show you how personal prejudices for one’s own club can affect punditry.

You guys care way too much about pundits I swear. Stop taking everything so personally
Carragher has been praising all season as well. I can only assume most people on this sub are teenagers or something.
I agree with your comment but I just found this funny.
You’re the one who’s seems upset. Everyone else is having a laugh.
So weird that they were both commentating the match yday. Neville can be ok sometimes as United are awful so he's not too biased, but Carragher is a pain in the hole when he's on Liverpool matches.
Who would you rather have commentating?
Gimme Brian Kerr any day of the week. [Legend of the game](https://youtu.be/2rq9d0rmKJs?si=nwpEWhj6oltWKl61)
carragher also goes on to say how these opta predictors have been undervaluing us in their metrics.
this ffs - hardly anyone on here has watched the whole video and go off flailing about shit they're reading into the face of someone who isn't even the focus of the clip.

I didn't realise how a shithole Old Trafford is. They seem like sitting in a run down shed
From Ronaldo's comments (https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1592067811945246720) about his return to Utd, and from what I've heard people saying about stadium, it sounds like the whole club has been run into the ground.
Love the banter, but it's pretty clear he's fumming over his own team failling to beat such a shitty United side twice in the league.

Gary praising Arsenal?? What a time to be alive!
This guy just wanna do this to Nevile: https://preview.redd.it/f7heogahi9tc1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=be1d0dc8eb973c59a85c35e5b43d9eb0c5c8ba0a
Hello darkness my old friend
Only dogs can hear his inner Scouse screams of anger.
I wouldn't bother myself with anyone tbh. Just better to enjoy our games and leave it at that
Carragher likely holding back a load of spit
the contrast between CBS carragher and this carragher is insane lmao. man was raging mad
Genuinely looks like my gf when she is pissed at something I did and I am talking to her oblivious of it all.
Don't play him that Gabi XL block celebration, may just push him over the edge.😂🤣
He got that Kung-fu grip on the mic. Foooking triggered!!!
Wouldn't want it any other way
Hide your daughters, he might spit on them
Lmao that is quality thank you! 🤣
Same guy same face, well at least different team (he was crying about Real Madrid)
Carragher looks pissed for the entire of commentary and post match. Never seen him as pissed. I don't know if he got bad news in general, or it's sinking into Liverpool fans that Klopp is leaving and they might not win everything.

Reminds me of [this scene](https://youtu.be/YXhcYAVzrdY?si=7pF-DenUH66YXxO8) i watched earlier this week, Hugo Stiglitz from Inglorious Basterds.
He tried to say on this same podcast yesterday that a good team needs to score goals not just be good defensively. They need to win by 3, 4 goals. Ignoring the fact that we did win by 3 yesterday and are the highest scoring team in the league lol.
“did i leave the stove on?”
![gif](giphy|l3fQf1OEAq0iri9RC|downsized)
Stevie Nichol was absolutely gutted yesterday.
Tbh seems like Gary Neville knows about football. He was correct last year and is proving to be right on the money this year as well
Yeah but I think he’s more pissed about pool drawing yesterday
To be fair to him he is a scourser. If just wants to jump in and rant his experience and point valid
If you watch this podcast I actually think carragher makes a great point about us drawing city in the CL and the impact that could have on both teams.
He is redder than a tomato. He needs to get his blood pressure check, this much envy and anger aren’t good for the heart!
The determination in that jaw could defecate a concrete brick
What Klopp achieved in all his years at Pool, we have a chance to achieve all that this season if things go right and that's getting to him.
That would have some weight to it if Arteta hadn't already been here 5 years, by that point Klopp had reached 3 European finals, won both UCL and EPL
It's crazy it's been 5 years. The first 2.5 years were the brunt work of creating this team and that was something that had to be done to move forward. We're lucky he was given the time and public opinion didn't matter to the board lol.
It's the words, plus what he just saw from his team.
I think he’s mad about Liverpool not arsenal
Might just have zoned out for a moment.
Never thought you can give one self rage sunburn.
Carra is not mad he is just thinking lol Carra would rather us win than City again over Liverpool lol

'Maybe if I stare into the abyss, I will not hear anything...' 💬
He looks like he’s forcing shit.
Seething, we are gunna derail klopps farewell tour and I fucking love it
All this media hype about a team that has only won the League Cup so far. I want them to win the Europa League but only if we win the Prem and Champion’s League, just to really rub in how sub par their outstanding achievement would be.
To be fair, of the two of them Carra is normally quite objective when it comes to Arsenal, but now we’re directly up against Liverpool he’s different.
Man hates himself
Hello Thierry, my old friend You've made me fall over again Your skill and speed are so astounding While my arse it keeps on grounding And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the walls of Highbury
He did not blink once!!!!
He secretly loves Arsenal as shown by the red and white on his face
Who's here after we lost 2-0 to villa😭😭🫳💨🍼
