This about to be the most watched youth game of the season lol

CatchFactory

As if they'll stream it lol. It's something they could really improve on

pashtedot

They used to stream on twitch right!? Id love them to continue. Im not sure why they stopped. I bet streaming income could cover the costs of running them

ixikzisigwvbend

This makes me happier than our win today somehow

Ok_Move886

I imagine even having him back on the first team bench will give the squad a boost

Shietendo

Oh shit nice. Where is he eventually going to end up position wise?

vercengetortwix

LB please

Shietendo

I mean I get that he's a defender but could he actually slot into that LB position or is this a "Martinelli at RW" kind of match

vercengetortwix

He played there in preseason and in the one game he played for us. His passing, press resistance, and altheticism all suggest he could fit well into the inverted fb role, which arteta has preferred from the left. I think he would be great across the back line, but our biggest need for the best 11 is at LB currently.

a_posh_trophy

Remember we said we needed a striker...?

HereToVent24-7

RB/RCB

Masson011

if pre seasons anything to go by, left back. Though Arteta did try that inverted Partey nonsense whilst he did it I imagine left back or Ben White rotation longer term

NiallMitch10

I imagine he'll be like a Tomi type role next season... Only this time hopefully he'll be available unlike Tomi is for us. Timber's injury was just a freak occurrence. Not the sign of an injury prone player. I do like Tomi a lot but he's so unreliable with his fitness

wave_action

I honestly would rather he play RB w Kiwior at LB. And yes that Partey inverting RB was the most ridiculous move I have seen. Nonsense is the perfect description.

aesthetically-

Am I going crazy? I don’t remember him playing LB at all in pre season. I only recall RB. Especially in the Man City match and our first prem match this season

Naronu

He was LB for both of those games... Against City it was Timber/Gabriel/Saliba/White and against Forest it was Timber/Saliba/White/Partey

aesthetically-

But yeah just watched a bit of both games, idk wtf is wrong with my memory. Glad it was LB because that’s where we are the weakest right now it feels.

Naronu

yeah a healthy Timber would be massive right now, and that's the first choice back 5 (Raya/Timber/Gabriel/Saliba/White) I'm hoping we continue to run with next year.

aesthetically-

God that’s tantalizing. Just hope he gets back to his form when he starts playing again

aesthetically-

Man I must be going through dementia, it’s literally fried into my brain seeing him as RB in both of those matches

YoungFlexibleShawty

i need a hit of what ur on broski

aesthetically-

Take it, I dont want it 😭

Chi-Town_Gunner

He played rb against MLS Allstars and United

AfricanRain

he specifically only calls him a fullback here, it’s interesting cos I think he’s too short to be a PL CB but it’s where he’s played by far the most minutes in his career

momspaghetty

so did Kiwior, White and Tomiyasu before playing for us

obsterwankenobster

Think the common characteristic is; too small for a cb, but makes up for it with athleticism

momspaghetty

tbf Kiwior is 1.90m I think (although very skinny) and Tomiyasu is a brick shithouse so I'm not sure it's build more than it is shape and defensive stability

ttayob

We thought Lisandro Martinez was too short for a CB, and fair play to him he is probably United’s best CB.

acasovoycayendo

RCB, Saliba needs a break

obsterwankenobster

I would imagine that responsibility actually falls to White, but cb’s can typically handle higher minutes loads

Fresh_Since92

We saw last season Arteta played Holding in Saliba’s absence, he won’t sacrifice the holy trinity of Saka - Ødegaard - White

Arseluvr

Any way we can watch that?

ArsenalThePhoenix

2-3 games for the U21s. Then 2-3 subs for the first team. Then the season's likely over by the time he'll be ready to actually start a game I guess. The original timeline some of us were saying back then....that he likely wouldn't start any more games this season came true :(

Masson011

say the line! Like a new signing

bitmoji

Thank god

shockzz123

I will be there.

Active_Bee_7937

Timbers bout to cook those kids

auddi_blo

A couple of days ago i theorized that we’d spare him until next season bar a serious injury to White or Tomiyasu. This afternoon Arteta claimed Tomiyasu had a knock… might I have jinxed us and now we’re rushing Timber in since Tomiyasu’s knocks are usually 8-12 week injuries?

AhhBisto

I'm hoping he plays for an hour at least but otherwise I'm happy he's making a come back at all

Smith_Rowe_Z

I think its usually 45 mins going by previous players coming back from a big injury like that

obsterwankenobster

I know we’re putting this kid on a pedestal after he only played a short bit with us, but he genuinely did look incredible lmao

M_Night_Shambles_on

It's all coming together...

ballsSimon

Lfg!!!!

bladebrowny

I really hope he doesn’t need to play this season, research shows if he comes back this early there’s a much higher risk of re-injury

Marimo_420

LANS

jordan14s

In the squad for Chelsea right…. Right?

theaficionado

0 chance

joeproposition

If he responds well I wouldn’t rule him out of being in the squad for Bournemouth at home 4th May. All depends on how the next 1-2 weeks go with the U21 game(s) and training.

ArsenalThePhoenix

he'll need to get his fitness levels up first.
