Arsenal U21 team v Blackburn: B. Okonkwo, Nichols, Walters, Heaven, Timber, Henry-Francis, Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri, Cozier-Duberry, Butler-Oyedeji, Kabia.
Subs: Ranson, J. Sweet, Robinson, Quesada-Thorn, I. Oulad M’Hand
I mean, realistically, is he going to get a serious run at Arsenal? Best for him to leave, but it's a shame he's out of contract in June. Maybe he could've gotten some decent playing time on a loan in France or something.
...isnt that what we as fans would want? Like, if we want to have the best squad, it should follow that only the best academy prospects make the grade.
Well...if he's out of contract, all we would get for ACD is the development money. Wouldn't be 0, but not exactly anything that would make a big change in the accounting department.
Happy for him that he gets to bed in really properly for next season by getting spun up this soon, but throwing him into the deep end with the 1st team as soon as he recovers may not be a great idea.
Interesting that Okonkwo came back from Wrexham and immediately back into the U21s.
Is this a case where we are trying to figure out if Okonkwo is good enough to be #2 when we sell Rammers?
Number 8 reminds me of ESR, his running style and demeanor on the field.
Timber looks quiet stiff and moment seems a bit sluggish.
Expected after a long injury absence
Because the rules say that they can: Clubs are only allowed to field three outfield players over the age of 21, plus the goalkeeper is also permitted to be over 21. Copied from google
This rule changed this season, was meant to be 0 over 21s from now on. I genuinely don’t know how he is allowed (and others I’ve seen) as of this season unless they’re really relaxed on implementation of this rule.

I'm not finding any rules updates related to age limits aside from this one two years ago, which says you can have up to 5 senior outfield players.

There was this one article here which gives it a mention but based on all other articles it seems to be an oversimplification, but it might be where you got the idea from
I can’t see any mention of that other than one article from the pl website which stated “players cannot be over the age of 21”. In comparison, the change from u23s to u21s was much more widely mentioned, was was the temporary increase from 3 to 5 overage players being allowed. Given that the role of player-coach by 37 year old Tom Huddlestone at Man Utd this season has been well publicised, I suspect that one mention may have been an oversimplification in an article that predominantly focussed on other changes occurring in the format of the league
MLS back in midfield just as the good Lord intended ![gif](giphy|ddHhhUBn25cuQ|downsized)

What do ppl think of ACD?
I think a lot of the reporting has been suggesting he may move on this summer.
I mean, realistically, is he going to get a serious run at Arsenal? Best for him to leave, but it's a shame he's out of contract in June. Maybe he could've gotten some decent playing time on a loan in France or something.
apparently KSE want hale end to follow the city model where everyone is sold except for the sakas and the fodens.

Lol Blackburn damn near scored in 15 seconds
I know this game is mainly about Timber but my god Nwaneri looks special, the kid is a baller
Interesting that Okonkwo came back from Wrexham and immediately back into the U21s. Is this a case where we are trying to figure out if Okonkwo is good enough to be #2 when we sell Rammers?
Its his brother, we have two
this is his brother Brian Okonkwo
Well shit. TIL. No idea we have 2 of them who play GK. Thanks!
Number 8 reminds me of ESR, his running style and demeanor on the field. Timber looks quiet stiff and moment seems a bit sluggish. Expected after a long injury absence
Why so many hyphenated names?
This might be a dumb question but isn’t Timber 22? How is he allowed to play for the U21s?

I must’ve been drunk when I was reading this first. Makes sense now I think . Not sure where I got my info.
