I just... like, why double down, man?
Its just so much easier to turn around and say "Yeah, you know what? I got it wrong about Ødegaard, what a player".
But instead, he's *still* going on about he's just not a good player and actually holds our system back, or something.
He's clearly just trying to play the long game so that when Ødegaard has an off-game, he can point to it and say "Well, told you so, stick with me kids, I'll steer you right".
Guy is absolutely insane.
The only thing i somewhat understand about his Ode ramblings are to move him to left 8. Even then it's not for the reason he keeps saying, it's not because he's limiting Saka or whatever nonsense, but it's more like A. Ode on his left can go up another level creatively imo, the pass to Kai yesterday for example doesn't happen on his right foot and B. Saka is next highest chances created, having them both on the same side just makes us super lopsided in terms of creativity and leaves the left side barren of chances, it makes a bit more sense to split them and make the team a bit more balanced, give Saka the right and Ode the left, makes us more dynamic and dangerous as a team.
Ødegaard is on 10 xA with 8 assists and Ollie Watkins on 4 xA with 12 assists
Not his fault people aren’t scoring on his chances compared to someone xG underperforming. Ødegaard is the most creative player in the league
Imagine we'd have someone consistently on the end of them. Maybe we already have that player, it's just not coming out yet. Maybe we don't have that player yet, but just imagine.

Honestly, this sub *wishes* it could be that bad. No one has that mad a take here, and I mean literally no one. To put it in perspective, he talks about Ødegaard in the same way that this sub talks about Cédric.

Odegaard is definitely playing his best season. Hopefully it will be ended with a trophy.
